Things that make daily life difficult or things that prevent us from participating in activities, they include: memory issues, declining vision, hearing difficulties, physical decline and transportation concerns.
here has been discussion by staff on our campus to implement or offer a daily check-in for residents. We discussed a few that anyone can purchase and use, including: Snug Safety App, I am fine, care checkers and check on granny. Following an in-depth conversation, the group decided unanimously that this is something that makes others (caregivers, families, staff) feel better and that no one in the group feels they need or would benefit from using . . . at least at this time!
Following a quick poll of our circle we learned that nearly everyone uses some type of technology daily: flip phone, smart phone, tablet, PC/laptop. Interestingly on 60% of the group believed that technology made life easier, a few even felt like it may be complicating life and disengaging people.
