Change is good! I start the show off with this well-known phrase because I truly believe in it. No intro or outro music today. Just me, my mic, and your ears! Wow. What a year of podcasting, creating community and serving that community has taught us. We are so thankful for the last 365 days. With that year under our belt, we have learned so much about ourselves and our community. Our mission is to continue to provide a platform for women where they can come to be inspired, motivated, faith fueled, and educated on topics they are interested in.

With that being said, next week will be our very first vacation! We are taking a week off to think about the direction of our show and how we can continue to live out our mission and passions. We are excited about this time to reflect and would encourage all of us to take days of rest when needed...then, you can come back stronger than ever! See you in March!

Happy One Year! This podcast just turned one and we are over the moon! We wanted to take this time and celebrate with you all. Share our wins. Update you on what has happened over the last year and end with some fun rapid fire questions just like we did in our very first episode.

A few things the podcast accomplished in a year:

  • 70 episodes of content without missing a week.
  • 83 ratings of which 82 are 5 stars.
  • Hit Top 125 in the Self Care Category… Apple changed their categories and we are now in Self Improvement which hit the top 50 in 4 different countries
  • Created and launched a ambassadors program that ran all of Season 2 with 10 incredible women helping support the show
  • Launched a second episode per week in Season 3 to kick off our Biz Series
  • Were interviewed together on several other awesome podcasts
  • Created a community of incredible women on Facebook and are almost 300 strong!
  • Currently hosting a mini-series inside our secret Facebook group where women can teach all about amazing things that they love
  • Learned so much. Met so many amazing people. Felt all the love :)

Something that we set out hearts on when we first started was to create a community of women that could share, inspire, and educate. We wanted to create new relationships and give women a platform to share their stories. We did it! And we couldn’t have done it without YOU. Truly, THANK YOU to a year of hanging out with us. This has been an emotional week for America. A few days ago, basketball legend, Kobe Bryant was killed in a helicopter accident with eight others including his daughter, Gianna. The accident is tragic, heartbreaking, and gut wrenching. It kept me up on Sunday night thinking about the minutes between them realizing the helicopter was crashing and the parents onboard trying to console their daughters. It is the stuff nightmares are made of. In the wake of tragedy, I needed to find a way to process this and keeping going.

Keep moving in a direction that would matter. Today, I sit down and talk about how we can keep inspiring others. Keep your legend alive in your everyday life through taking your shot, finding your opportunity and possibility, and having the confidence and courage to create a life you love. No matter who you are, rich, famous, poor, or somewhere in the middle, tomorrow is not a promise. Make today matter.

Have you heard of Batch Working? It is a time saving hack that has helped me find more hours in the day to get all the things done. “Batching” is blocking out hours or certain amounts of time, and knocking out tasks that are similar in nature in one fell swoop. For instance, I batch my blog posts for meganstratton.com. I sit down, usually on a Saturday morning, and write around four or five blog posts. With coffee in hand, I sit at the kitchen table before my family is awake, and get in the head space to write. Once I start writing, it is so much easier to keep going than to try and write one blog post a week, come up with a topic, schedule time to write it, and get in a good flow. Batch work allows me to take care of WEEKS of content in an hour or so.

Batching has helped me understand how to put similar tasks together and knock them out more efficiently. Not sure how to get started? No worries! I give you three tips at the end of the episode for starting to find your stride with batch working. Already an expert at batching? I would love to hear how you do it! Follow me on instagram, @megstratt and let’s share secrets!

This episode idea came to me and it was so fun to record. I talked about why I hired a coach, how I came to that decision, and what I have learned in my first three months of coaching. Let me tell you… I was super hesitant to hire anyone. My ego was telling me, “girl, you know what to do!” And for the most part, I did. It wasn’t until I heard another coach say to look ahead five years and think of who can help you get there that it clicked for me. Excited to share that story with you all!

Happy New Year’s Eve!! I cannot believe it. 2020… whoa! Just let that sink in for a second. With a new year, and a new decade at that, I think it is super important to take a step back and audit your life. I do this with my closet, things around the house, money I am spending, and my business. Taking a deeper look at what strategies have worked and what didn’t work can be so helpful walking into a new year. On this episode, I talk about how to audit the three platforms that I use the most: Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.

I will teach you how to do the audits on your own so that your social media is prepped for the new year. We will go over when to unfollow people on Instagram, why having a LinkedIn is so important, and how to be more engaged in your Facebook groups. I hope you all have a safe and exciting New Year’s Day!

P.s. You may have heard at the end of the show that I am offering Social Media Audits! These will ONLY be sold as a stand alone package during the month of January as of right now. Send me a message on Instagram to take advantage of it!

Sometimes you just need to have a little confession session with your girls, right! That’s exactly what we did on this episode with our girl, Kristen Wheeler, host of Confessions of a Supermom Wannabe. We did not hold back! From dishing about how working the church nursery is sometimes not our favorite thing to wearing granny panites and being proud of it, we were able to get real with Kristen on her show. Mom guilt and how to support other women were also topics covered during our interview. We hope you guys enjoy us being on the other end of the mic. Don’t forget to leave us a rate and/or review after the show! We so appreciate it!

You mean, there is a way to have toddlers that listen to you and are well behaved?! LOL...kidding, kinda! Today we sit down with the Rooted Mom, Ashton Fuhs and dish about how to raise respectful, well behaved, happy kids! Ashton has been around kids her whole life. From a career in teaching to develop her own system and course on peaceful parenting, Ashton has a gift for tapping into the minds of our little ones. We asked Ashton all about how we communicate with our kids to how we can reward them when they have a success. We refer back to a book often called, “Jesus, the Gentle Parent” and learn some of the Biblical practices for parenting.

It was such a fun episode to chat with Ashton and we both learned so much. We hope you enjoy this show! AND before you go, we are less than 20 reviews away from hitting the 100 mark! If you could pause and leave us a rate and review, we would be so thankful for your support. Thank you!!

One of the topics that you hear often is that consistency is a game changer for your business. Honestly guys, it can make or break you, but I firmly believe that you have to put out great content on a consistent basis. You have to show up and do that work. Your clients have to know when and where they can expect to hear from you. Today, I sit down with my friend, Heather Parady and talk all things consistency. Heather is a mentor, podcaster, content creator, and a Georgia Peach just like me.

I love Heather’s approach to being authentic and showing up each day. She has done an amazing job of building a business on hard work, grit, and determination. So happy to share this interview with you guys!

She taught us about the OODA-LOOP method that Police and Law Enforcement use to protect yourself.

Lori gives us some great advice on how we can better protect our children as well. We both learned so much in this episode and the work that Lori is doing is amazing! This episode is a little longer than most of our shows, but we felt it was totally worth it! Thanks for tuning in!

It’s all for the ‘Gram! Now, before we get started, you guys need to know that Instagram can and should be a part of your marketing strategy; however, I wouldn’t bank on it being your only strategy. What if the powers to be decide to shut down Instagram? Would you still have a business? Could you still get in touch with your clients? With that being said, I have really loved learning more about Instagram strategy this year and putting it into practice.

I am diving into my 5 step strategy on how I gained over 5,000 more followers in a year without sacrificing my engagement and my relationships. I may even go into how I structure my ads and where I spend money on the platform to see the best growth in my niche. I know that if you follow this 5 step strategy you will see great results as well. FACT!

Did you know that Pinterest is one of the top search engines? Yep! And one of the most effective ways to drive traffic to your site, podcast, or sales page. I sit down with Pinterest guru, Jacquelene Hayes to talk about the basics of Pinterest. I loved getting to chat with her. She works her business full time, has her own podcast, and is a momma, wife, and Christian...so it is safe to say we had a vibe! We walk through how to switch over to a business account, why that matters, and how to set up your boards. She even gives us some tips on how often to pin and scheduling tools that can take the leg work out of the process for you. One of my favorite takeaways from the episode was how your “pinning” habits can help get you in front of a brand new audience.

If you are needing help on getting Pinterest set up for business, then this is the show for you. So much goodness in here and when I started to implement these strategies, my traffic has increased dramatically! Excited to share these tips with you all!

Happy Thanksgiving, Family! We are thankful for YOU! Today on the podcast we have Dr. Ellie Katz. Dr. Katz is a leading practitioner of holistic psychotherapy. For the last forty years, her eclectic interventions have featured innovative approaches to using meditation, guided thinking and the Bach Flower Remedies. She is also the author of several books on recovery and her methods.

One of the most interesting comments Dr. Katz made was that “flowers can’t bloom in toxic environments.” We talk with her about several types of addictions and how you can start to realize them and recover. And how you can understand a bad habit versus and addiction. From food addiction to alcoholism, Dr. Katz gives her advice on why these things manifest in each person and what programs have worked best from her experience.

Today I want to talk to you guys about something I get asked about A LOT. Like a lot. A lot. And that is “How the heck do you find the TIME to do everything that you do?” And if I am being honest, this question always catches me off guard because TIME is the one thing that every single person has in common. Time doesn’t change for anyone. You can’t buy more of it. You can’t return it or get it back. It is something that keeps going no matter if you want it to or not. But we all have the exact same amount. 24 hours in a day. I am sharing my top five tips on how to manage your time more effectively. Whether you are a master at organizing your time or if time has a way of always getting away from you, I promise there is a takeaway here for everyone.

Have you guys seen that meme about parenting in 2019? It is so ridiculous that you just have to laugh out loud. Everyone has an opinion on how to be a mom and it can be extremely overwhelming and discomforting to hear all of that advice.

On the show today, we talk about how to handle when other people disagree with your parenting style. Unfortunately, it happens to all of us and most of the time it truly comes from a place of love. It is an emotional topic for moms because we take so much pride in how we raise our children. Of course, if your sweet grandma is giving you advice, it is coming from a place of love, but we even chat how to not let all the advice overwhelm you. We are going to give some remedies on strategies we have learned on how to deal with when others do not agree with your parenting style.

Today we are chatting about how to identify your target client! Everyone deserves to work with their dream customers, but not everyone knows how to find them. I break down my method of uncovering your target client so that after this episode, you have a clear path to who you want to reach. Susan Friedmann’s book title, “Riches in Niches,” is exactly right! You need to drill down to your niche/ target market and know what problems you can solve for that group of people.

I uncover my target client and even give her a super cool name. One of my biggest marketing secrets is to drill down five or more “layers” deep to identify a group of people that are hyper targeted and need my help! “But, Megan… what if we drill down too far and I exclude someone or repel someone from my product or service?” Don’t worry sister, we go over that too!

Do you know who your target client is right now? Can you drill down further to tap into an even more specific market? You will have a road map after you tune in! Let’s go!

Our guest today was tired of sitting in board meetings, taking notes on several notepads, and trying to keep up with all the different systems her company was trying to utilize. She knew there had to be a better, more efficient and productive way to organize all the thoughts, projects, and daily tasks. That’s how Bella Scena was created! Amber saw the need in the market and took her tech background to the next level with creating a full productivity system that is tailored to women. We ask Amber about how she stays productive and her best hacks to stay on task.

The conversation also evolves into asking her what is like to be a female in an industry that is majority male. Amber gives us her favorite features of her software and why it is designed the way it is. If you are thinking about an idea or a problem that needs solving, look no further than yourself! It can be hard to know what to say to a friend or loved one that is walking through something you haven’t experienced yourself. You desperately want to find the words to say that could comfort them without making it “worse.” We had the pleasure of chatting with the amazing, Sarah Belleau about grief and how you can support those around you that are walking through a tough season. Sarah started her own podcast after the passing of her father. She wanted to share other’s stories, build a community, and connect amazing people with other amazing people. Sarah’s take on grief and what you can do to build a support system is a lesson that is needed. We chat about community and the importance of finding people that will be with you at your lowest as well as your highest. We dive into the idea that “perfection is NOT inspirational,” why Mom Guilt needs to be a thing of the past, and reminds us that we are all doing a great job. Thank you, Sarah for sharing your story and for being an inspiration to us all, sis!
