The Long Island Center for Inquiry is pleased to feature Matthew Titmus of SUNY Stony Brook presenting "How to Debate a Creationist."
We've all been there. Talking to a friend neighbor co-worker or even someone you've just met somehow creation comes up and suddenly you're faced with the awkward situation of responding to assertions like the earth being created with age or our ancestors frolicking with Tyrannosaurus Rex. How can you respond to someone with that big a blind spot? The evening's presentation is followed by a lively Q&A session. By cfilongisland

The Bethpage High School Philosophy Club was invited by the Long Island Center for Inquiry to discuss the topics "Is belief without reason ignorance?" and "Can morality exist without religion?" in front of a live audience of center members and the general public. The discussion was held in the auditorium of the Plainview Old Bethpage public library where the students debated the topics for forty five minutes followed by a fifteen minute question and answer period. After the students were finished answering questions Amy Frushour Kelly coordinator of CFI Long Island programs presented the students with the "Inquiry Award." By cfilongisland
