Shipwrecks happen all over the oceans, yet with much greater frequency they exist invisibly near shore. That's where they encountered hard things like rocks, other ships, and enemies. The oceans are hostile to humans. The distance you can walk in twenty seconds is greater than you can safely go down in water with SCUBA gear. So many ships exist so close, yet are virtually unreachable.
Craig has a conversation with Anne Simpson, who just retired from 35 years of flying for the airlines. Anne flew 727s, A320s, 747s, and finished in A330s, routinely flying virtually all over the world. Anne talks about the routine of flying, and what's happening behind the scenes while most of us are in a crowd of 300 or 400 people in the main cabin of the airplane.
In the first episode of Earth Is Blue, Craig talks about experiences in the oceans, particularly about his experience with OceanGate, a company planning to dive their own submarine to the Titanic in July of 2018.
