Whether you're married, single, divorced, widowed, or hoping to be married one day, this message offers gospel-centered hope and practical wisdom for following Jesus in every season of life. // SCRIPTURE REFERENCES //Mark 10:1–12, Genesis 2:15, Genesis 2:18, Genesis 2:24–25, Genesis 3, Exodus 22:16–17, Leviticus 18:6–18, Leviticus 20:11–21, Deuteronomy 24:1–4, Deuteronomy 25:5–10, Matthew 19:4–6, Mark 10:6–9, Ephesians 5:22–33, Revelation 19:7–9, Deuteronomy 24:1–4, Genesis 1–2, Psalm 51:10, Philippians 2:3–4, and James 1:19–20.More info at the Bible Project:

Gospel of Mark: 29. Help My Unbelief (Mark 9:14–29)What do you do when faith feels fragile? When Jesus comes down from the mountain, He encounters a desperate father whose son is suffering and whose hope is running out. Caught between belief and doubt, the father cries out with one of the most honest prayers in Scripture: "I believe; help my unbelief!"This week we'll discover that Jesus is not intimidated by our questions, doubts, or struggles. The story reminds us that faith is not the absence of uncertainty—it is bringing our uncertainty to Jesus. If you've ever wrestled with disappointment, unanswered prayers, or a faith that feels weak, this message is for you.
Just days after speaking about the cross, Jesus takes Peter, James, and John up a mountain where they witness something unforgettable. For a brief moment, the veil is pulled back, and they see Jesus in His divine glory. The Transfiguration reminds us that the suffering Jesus is also the glorious Son of God. Before the disciples walk toward Jerusalem, they are given a glimpse of where the story is headed.Join us as we explore how God's glory strengthens us for seasons of difficulty, why Jesus stands above every other voice, and what it means to truly listen to Him.

Podcast / Livestream DescriptionWhat does generosity reveal about your heart? In this message, Pastor David explores one of Jesus' most surprising teachings on money through the story of the widow's offering in Mark 12. While the world measures generosity by the size of the gift, Jesus measures it by the heart behind it.Through powerful stories of unexpected generosity, practical wisdom on money, and biblical teaching on tithing and stewardship, you'll discover that generosity isn't an amount, it’s an attitude.Whether you're taking your first step in giving, learning to trust God with your finances, or wondering how your resources can make an eternal difference, this message will challenge you to see your money through the lens of God's kingdom.Because when we invest in eternity, the echo of our generosity outlives us.// SCRIPTURE REFERENCES //Mark 12:41-44, Acts 17:24-25, II Corinthians 9:12-14, Proverbs 3:9-10, Leviticus 27:30, Matthew 6:21

How do you respond when you feel like an outsider? In Mark 7:24–37, Jesus encounters a desperate mother who seems to have every strike against her - she's a Gentile, an outsider, and someone many would have considered unworthy of God's attention. Yet her humble, bold, and persistent faith becomes one of the most remarkable examples in the Gospel of Mark.In this message, we explore what Jesus is really looking for in the human heart, why belonging in God's Kingdom isn't determined by your past or your pedigree, and how even "a crumb" of His grace is enough to change a life. Along the way, we'll confront prejudice, discover the power of intercessory prayer, and be reminded that Jesus welcomes all who come to Him in faith.// SCRIPTURE REFERENCES //Mark 7:34-40, Deuteronomy 30:6, Psalm 51:10, Ezekiel 36:26, Mark 12:30-31, More info at the Bible Project: https://bibleproject.com/videos/mark/ // TAKE A NEXT STEP //Want to visit or discover more about Columbia View? In Mark 6:45–52, the disciples find themselves stuck in the middle of a storm - exhausted, afraid, and straining against the wind - when Jesus comes walking toward them on the water. In this episode, Ken reflects on this story through the lens of his own experience of following Jesus into uncertain and difficult waters.Together, we explore the tension of faith and fear, the reality of life’s “wind and waves,” and what it means to trust Jesus when obedience feels risky and the storm feels very real. This conversation looks honestly at discipleship, courage, surrender, and the invitation of Jesus to step out of the boat - not because the waters are safe, but because He is present in them.// SCRIPTURE REFERENCES //Mark 6:45-52More info at the Bible Project: https://bibleproject.com/videos/mark/ // TAKE A NEXT STEP //Want to visit or discover more about Columbia View? What happens when caring for people starts wearing you down?
In this teaching from Mark 6:30–44, we explore the very real experience of compassion fatigue — emotional, mental, and spiritual exhaustion from constantly carrying the needs of others — and how Jesus offers a better way: compassion resilience. As the disciples return exhausted from ministry, Jesus invites them into rhythms of rest, private devotion, and dependence on him. Yet in the middle of their exhaustion, Jesus also teaches them how to remain compassionate without becoming depleted. Through the feeding of the 5,000, we discover that compassion resilient disciples learn to let Jesus define both their ministry and their limits, withdraw with Jesus to return with compassion, and trust him to multiply what little they have.If you’ve been feeling tired, overextended, emotionally drained, or spiritually dry, this message offers practical and biblical wisdom for following Jesus faithfully over the long haul.// SCRIPTURE REFERENCES //Mark 6:30-44More info at the Bible Project: https://bibleproject.com/videos/mark/ // TAKE A NEXT STEP //Want to visit or discover more about Columbia View? This week we continue our journey through the Gospel of Mark as a guest speaker Dr. Dave Martin teaches from Gospel of Mark 6:6–13. In this passage, Jesus sends out the twelve disciples two by two - not after they had everything figured out, but while they were still learning what it meant to trust Him. The teaching explored what it looks like to live on mission with dependence on God, courage in the face of rejection, and authority rooted in Jesus rather than ourselves. If you’ve ever felt unqualified, uncertain, or hesitant to step into what God is calling you to, this message is a reminder that Jesus often works through ordinary people willing to go.// SCRIPTURE REFERENCES //Mark 6:6-13More info at the Bible Project: https://bibleproject.com/videos/mark/ // TAKE A NEXT STEP //Want to visit or discover more about Columbia View? In a culture where everyone seems offended by everything, how do followers of Jesus navigate offense with wisdom, humility, and truth? In this teaching through Gospel of Mark 6:1–6, we explore the moment Jesus returned to His hometown, preached in the synagogue, and offended the very people who knew Him best. But this wasn’t merely hurt feelings — their offense revealed unbelief, pride, and resistance to the work of God in their lives.Together we explore:* why people get offended so easily, * the difference between wise and foolish responses to correction, * how to discern when you were actually wrong, * when to apologize, * when to set healthy boundaries, * and how offense can either harden your heart or humble your heart.
This message is deeply practical, honest, funny at times, and rooted in biblical wisdom for navigating conflict, relationships, truth, forgiveness, and spiritual maturity in the modern world.

In one of the most powerful stories in Mark 5, Jesus confronts a man completely overtaken by bondage - and sets him free. But this isn’t just an extreme story… it’s a mirror. In a world of unprecedented advancement, we’re still deeply enslaved—to addiction, anxiety, distraction, and more. This message explores a counterintuitive truth: real freedom isn’t found in doing whatever we want, but in surrendering to the authority of Jesus. If you’ve ever felt stuck, this sermon offers both hope and a clear path forward.// SCRIPTURE REFERENCES //Mark 5:1-20 More info at the Bible Project: https://bibleproject.com/videos/mark/ // TAKE A NEXT STEP //Want to visit or discover more about Columbia View? In Mark 3:13-19, Jesus forms His team - and it’s a surprising one: a rockhead, two status-chasing brothers, and even a future betrayer. Yet Jesus still calls them, showing that He doesn’t call the equipped - He equips the called. The pattern of discipleship is simple: be with Jesus first, then be sent by Jesus. Faithful ministry for the long haul isn’t built on perfection, but on ordinary people who stay close to Jesus and keep taking the next step. // SCRIPTURE REFERENCES // Mark 8:33; 3:13-19; 10:35-37; 43; 3:19; 3:14; John 15:5; Mark 3:13-19; Genesis 2:10; 22:2; Exodus 24:12; I Kings 18:20–39; Mark 4:41; More info at the Bible Project: https://bibleproject.com/videos/mark/ // TAKE A NEXT STEP // Want to visit or discover more about Columbia View? In Mark 3:1–12, Jesus confronts the religious leaders over what truly honors God. When a man with a shriveled hand enters the synagogue, the Pharisees watch closely to see if Jesus will heal on the Sabbath—not because they care about the man, but because they want a reason to accuse Him. Jesus exposes their hardened hearts and shows that God’s commands were never meant to restrict life but to restore it.This passage reveals a sobering truth: religious systems can sometimes care more about protecting rules than loving people. But Jesus refuses to let compassion be silenced. With a word, He restores the man’s hand and reveals the heart of God—one that values mercy over legalism and life over control. At the same time, Mark shows us two very different responses to Jesus. While the religious leaders begin plotting His destruction, crowds from every direction gather to experience His healing power. In this message, we explore what happens when the kingdom of God confronts hardened hearts, why Jesus challenges the misuse of religious rules, and how His authority reveals the true purpose of God’s law: restoring people to life.// SCRIPTURE REFERENCES //Mark 3:1-12More info at the Bible Project: https://bibleproject.com/videos/mark/ // TAKE A NEXT STEP //Want to visit or discover more about Columbia View? We’re launching 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting… but before we begin, we have to ask a crucial question: Are we aiming at the right target? In Mark 2:18–22, Jesus is challenged about fasting, and His response reveals something deeper than a debate about food. It’s about what it truly means to follow Him. In a world where Christianity can easily drift toward performance, politics, self-improvement, or rule-keeping, Jesus calls us back to the heart of it all: intimacy and restoration.Through the lens of a memorable “target practice” story and four common distortions of modern Christianity, this message unpacks why fasting isn’t about keeping score - it’s about longing for the Bridegroom. It’s not about preserving religious systems - it’s about participating in God’s restoring work in people’s lives.Because if we’re not careful, we can hit a bullseye and still miss the target. As we step into this 21-day journey together, this teaching will help you:* Understand God’s purpose for fasting * Identify false targets that subtly distort the gospel * Learn practical, biblical best practices for fasting today * Align your hunger with deeper intimacy with Jesus * Fast with joy, mission, and restoration in mind

In a world shaped by the attention economy, it can be hard to believe prayer really matters—but Genesis 18 shows a God who invites conversation and responds to intercession. In Mark 1:35–39, we see Jesus step into the eremos (silence and solitude), pray through interruptions, and come out with clear priorities for ministry. This teaching explores Jesus’ healing power in Mark 1:29–39, where healing is not just a miracle but a pathway to restored lives and effective service. We’re reminded that we all carry wounds - physical, emotional, relational, or spiritual - and yet Jesus has authority to heal the whole person. In this message from Mark 1:14–20, we explore Jesus’ simple but life-altering invitation: “Come, follow me.” Before the disciples understand anything fully, they respond with immediate obedience—leaving their nets, their security, and their old lives behind. This sermon highlights a core truth: following Jesus always involves letting go of something old to take hold of something new. Through the Gospel of Mark, we see that discipleship is a lifelong rhythm of choosing presence over distraction, sacrifice over comfort, justice over security, service over significance, and grace over shame.Jesus doesn’t call the impressive—He calls the available. Where did your sense of identity come from—and what voice is shaping it now? In week three of our journey through the Gospel of Mark, we step into Mark 1:9–13 and discover a powerful, countercultural truth: Jesus is declared beloved before He ever faces the battle. Before miracles, ministry, or temptation, the Father speaks identity—“You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” This message explores how identity is often formed early through experiences, labels, and comparison—and why trying to earn or achieve identity leaves us anxious and exhausted. Drawing from Scripture, and lived experience, we see a consistent biblical pattern: before work, testing, or obedience, God gives belonging. Jesus enters the wilderness already secure in who He is - and that same pattern is offered to us. Whether you’re facing pressure, doubt, transition, or temptation, this teaching invites you to stop striving and start listening. Because in Christ, you don’t fight for love—you fight from love. You are beloved before the battle.

What if the biggest obstacle to experiencing more of God isn’t effort—but space? In week two of our year-long journey through the Gospel of Mark, we explore Mark 1:1–8 and the surprising way God begins His work: not with miracles, crowds, or even Jesus himself—but with preparation. Drawing from Israel’s story in Exodus, Isaiah, and Malachi, we see that before God moves powerfully, He prepares a people. John the Baptist’s call to repentance isn’t about doing more for God, but making room for God to do more. This message invites us to slow down, examine what’s crowding God out, and rediscover the kind of preparation that leads to real renewal.

What if following Jesus isn’t about arriving—but about learning how to fail forward? In this opening message of our year-long journey through the Gospel of Mark, we confront a deeply held assumption many of us carry:: Follow Jesus → get better → stop failing → arrive. But if that were true, Mark’s Gospel would be deeply discouraging—because the people closest to Jesus fail constantly. Through honest stories of personal failure, the surprising life of John Mark, and the opening line of Mark’s Gospel—“The beginning of the good news of Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God”—we discover that failure is not the exception in discipleship, but often the place where God begins His deepest work. This message explores: Why failure is a normal part of following Jesus. How our unformed places show up in marriage, parenting, work, church, and friendships. Why God’s grace doesn’t erase consequences—but does offer real restoration. And how the “good news” of Jesus is not advice, self-help, or religious hype, but an announcement of a faithful King who keeps calling failing disciples If you’ve ever felt like you’ve let God down, fallen short, or wondered if it’s too late to start again—this message is for you. Because the Gospel of Mark reminds us: If you feel like you’re failing at following Jesus, you’re not outside the story—you’re right in the middle of it.
Why do New Year’s resolutions fail every year? It’s not a lack of effort—it’s a misunderstanding of how change actually works. In this message, we explore why real transformation isn’t about willpower, but habit formation—the small, repeated rhythms that shape who we become. Grounded in Moses’ final words in Deuteronomy 30, we discover that God’s invitation to grow isn’t distant or overwhelming—it’s near, daily, and doable. You’ll hear why most attempts at change don’t stick, and learn two simple practices that do: picking a theme and building a team. This sermon closes The Greatest Gift series by reminding us that Jesus didn’t come just to be admired for a season, but followed for a lifetime.
Most of us think of Christianity as a ticket out of a broken world—something that matters later, not now. But what if that assumption is quietly reshaping how we live, love, and hope?In this week’s Advent teaching, Jesus as Conductor, we explore why Jesus didn’t come to help us escape earth—but to train us to bring heaven into it. Using the imagery of The Polar Express and Luke’s Christmas story, this message names the tension many of us feel between cynicism and control, hope and disappointment, destination and journey. If you’ve ever wondered why faith can start to feel passive, delayed, or disconnected from everyday life—or if you’re longing for a version of Christianity that actually changes how you live right now—this teaching is for you. The train is already moving. The question is: Will you stay on board.
We all say we want a God who brings justice—but usually for other people’s sins, not our own. We imagine a God with a gavel, ready to strike down abusers, corrupt leaders, violent people, broken systems, and yes… even the people who’ve wounded us personally. But the God who comes at Christmas—Jesus—doesn’t arrive with a sword in His hand. He comes with mercy. Instead of crushing His enemies, He calls His people to forgive theirs. Instead of withdrawing from the world’s mess, He makes His followers salt and light right inside it. In this episode, we explore the surprising, disarming, life-changing justice and mercy of Jesus—and why His way is the greatest gift we could ever receive.
Most of us love a good rescue story, but what do you do when the ground gives way beneath your life and God doesn’t seem to pull you out? This week’s teaching explores why Jesus doesn’t always remove our hardships—but why He never, ever leaves us buried. From a real Gorge rescue to Job, Esther, Moses, and Mary, we’ll see how God meets His people in the struggle, not just after it’s over. And in a world full of pressure, pain, and unanswered prayers, this message might be the rescue you didn’t know you needed.
This Advent, many of us feel rushed, stretched thin, and weary before the season even begins. But what if the arrival of Jesus wasn’t meant to speed us up, but to slow us down? In this message, we explore Jesus’ invitation to find rest—not through earning or performing, but through grace. We’ll look at the biblical rhythm of Sabbath, the Hebrew idea of Shabbat (“to stop” and “to delight”), and how Jesus fulfills it as the true King who brings rest to tired souls. If you feel busy, burdened, or burned out, this teaching is for you. Discover how to walk at the pace of Jesus this Christmas season.
This week in our Community of Practice series, we turn to the power behind every spiritual discipline: Grace. In 2 Peter 3:17–18, we’re called to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” But how do everyday practices— Scripture, prayer, fasting, sabbath —actually become means of grace that form us? Join us as we explore how grace fuels our spiritual practices, shapes our character, and empowers us to become more like Jesus.
This Sunday we step into Part 3 of our Community of Practice series and explore the practice of Prayer through Ephesians 6:10–20. Paul reminds us that life is more than what we can see—there’s a spiritual battle underneath everything. And prayer isn’t just a discipline; it’s our lifeline, our armor, and our power source. Join us as we learn how to pray with confidence, courage, and perseverance, and discover why prayer is central to belonging to Jesus, believing in Jesus, and becoming like Jesus.
You can have everything — comfort, convenience, abundance — and still feel empty. So what do you do when you feel full but not fulfilled? In this second message from our Community of Practice series, Pastor David unpacks the ancient practice of fasting through the story of Esther — a young woman who faced crisis, fear, and calling in the middle of an indulgent empire. Fasting isn’t about self-punishment; it’s about spiritual hunger. It’s how we push back against a world obsessed with “more” and rediscover the quiet strength of surrender. Learn four reasons why followers of Jesus still fast today — to offer ourselves to God, grow in holiness, amplify prayer, and stand with the poor — and discover how even small acts of hunger can change hearts, homes, and history
You weren’t made to just survive the grind. Psalm 1 paints a vision of a rooted, flourishing life — one that stays steady even when everything else feels uncertain. In this opening message from our new series Community of Practice, Pastor David invites us to slow down and rediscover the beauty of Scripture as a lived experience, not just something to study. Through a simple and practical rhythm called SOAP — Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer — we’ll learn to meet God in His Word and let His truth shape the way we work, rest, and live.
In this episode, Pastor David explores what it really means to become like Jesus—not just in belief, but in everyday mission. Through Scripture, story, and real-life examples, he reminds us that formation always leads to mission: we’re shaped by Jesus to be sent with Jesus. Discover how ordinary moments in work, family, and community can become sacred spaces where God’s kingdom breaks in. To become like Jesus is to be on mission with Jesus.
Have you ever made a decision that changed everything? Marriage, a move, a new job — each choice reshapes your life in ways you couldn’t see at first. But no decision carries more ripple effects than the decision about who Jesus is to you. In this message, Pastor David unpacks what it means to “believe in Jesus” — not as a one-time choice, but as an ongoing reorientation of your entire life around Him. Through the stories of Peter, Nicodemus, and the Samaritan woman, discover how Jesus meets real people in real moments of disorientation — and how He can bring stability, renewal, and purpose to your life today.
Belong: Holy Spirit–Filled Community What does it really mean to belong in the family of God? Jesus’ invitation has always been wide open — there’s a seat at His table for anyone willing to come. From Sarah, who laughed at God’s promise, to the disciples who constantly misunderstood Jesus, Scripture is full of stories of ordinary, imperfect people finding belonging in God’s extraordinary family. In this kickoff to our Fall Vision Series, Pastors David and Tita Rannabargar explore what it means to be a Holy Spirit–filled community — a church that reflects Jesus through gifts, fruit, and forgiveness. Together we’ll unpack: What the Bible says about true community — from Genesis to the early church. How a Spirit-filled life expresses itself in our gifts, character, and relationships. Why belonging takes both structure and spontaneity — being intentional yet open to divine interruptions.
The two lies around worthiness trick us into believing we r not worthy of Jesus love or that we need to earn His approval so we can be loved. There is nothing farther from the truth we have been fully loved since conception!
We use tape measures to make sure what we build is straight, square, and solid. But what’s the measuring tape for our spiritual lives? Jesus makes it clear: the ultimate measure of maturity isn’t knowledge, busyness, or even ministry activity — it’s love. In this message, we explore how the New Testament word teleios (maturity, completeness) points us to love as the end goal of spiritual growth. From the life of Jesus to the picture of aspen groves, we’ll discover that Christian maturity is not rugged individualism, but profound, interconnected love for people.
Marriage in our culture feels fragile—divorce, busyness, past wounds, and cultural confusion weigh heavy. Yet Scripture paints a better vision: a covenant where husbands love sacrificially and wives honor with trust, all under the banner of mutual submission in Christ. In Ephesians 5:21–33, Paul shows us that marriage isn’t just about happiness—it’s about holiness, a living picture of Christ and His church. This week we explore what that means for our homes, our hearts, and our witness to the world. Whether married, single, or longing for renewal, the Spirit invites us to live love differently.
What if the biggest change God wants for your life isn’t about trying harder—but putting on a whole new self? In Ephesians 4:17–24, Paul shows us how to leave behind the old patterns that keep us stuck and step into a renewed life shaped by Jesus.
Who has added value to your life—and whose life are you adding value to? In this episode, we dive into Ephesians 4:7-16 and uncover the radical truth: God’s greatest gifts aren’t things—they’re people. From growing believers who guide us to friends who walk alongside us, God uses relationships to shape our hearts, strengthen our faith, and grow the church. Through stories of discipleship, family moments, and the everyday disciples around us, we’ll explore how generosity, gifts, and growth come together in the body of Christ. Learn how to find a mentor, become a mentor, and experience the transformative power of Spirit-filled people in your life. You don’t grow alone—and neither does anyone else. God’s generosity comes wrapped in people.
Have you ever longed for a closer relationship with Jesus, but wrestled with how to actually get there? This week at Columbia View, we’re taking discipleship out of theory and into real life. Instead of a sermon, you’ll hear from five voices in our church who piloted a new initiative we’re calling Everyday Disciples. These aren’t pastors or professors—they’re everyday people who said “yes” to walking more intentionally with Jesus in community. In this conversation, you’ll hear honest stories of what it’s like to engage Scripture together, listen for the Spirit’s voice, take real steps of obedience, and even wrestle with the awkwardness and beauty of accountability. Discipleship isn’t a program. It’s a way of life. And this week’s episode will give you a front row seat to what happens when ordinary people create space to be with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what He did—together.
In a world obsessed with information, Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 3 offers an alternative vision— we don’t need more information about God, we need a deeper, more intimate experience of His love. In this message, we explore what it means to be strengthened in our inner being, rooted in love, and filled with all the fullness of God. Because when you truly know His love—not just in your head, but in your heart—you then can extend that same love to others.
What if the greatest mystery in history has already been revealed—and it changes everything? In Ephesians 3:1–13, Paul unpacks the mind-blowing secret God had been keeping for ages: that all followers of Jesus, no matter their background, are united in Christ. From a prison cell, Paul declares that the Church is now the stage where this radical plan is put on display to the world—and even to the powers of heaven.
What if there were no VIP lounges in God’s Kingdom—no insiders, no outsiders, just one new humanity under Jesus? In this message from Ephesians 2, we explore how the blood of Jesus tore down walls of division and built a new family where anyone who follows Jesus has a seat at the table.
Ever felt like you're running on empty—spiritually, emotionally, even physically? In this episode, we explore how communal discipleship, grounded in prayerful intimacy with Jesus, is God’s response to our most pressing cultural and personal challenges. From wisdom in an age of noise to hope in the face of despair, Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 1 offers a vision for a Spirit-empowered life. Whether you're new to prayer or ready to go deeper, this message invites you to see, pray, and live differently—starting right where you are.
This week, our church building was the target of arson. In this raw and honest episode, we unpack what happened, how we're feeling, and where we go from here. Whether you’re angry, sad, afraid, or numb—whatever you're feeling, it’s okay... we will move forward together. Through the lens of Ephesians 6, we explore how to stand strong in the Lord when life feels like it’s gone up in flames—literally. This isn’t just about rebuilding a building; it’s about resisting darkness with faith, hope, and the armor of God. You’ll hear real stories, practical spiritual practices, and a reminder that what the enemy meant for harm, God can use for good. Tune in to be encouraged, equipped, and reminded: God is wit us.
What story are you telling yourself about who you are? For young families, singles, kids, and retirees alike, the world is constantly offering counterfeit stories about your worth and identity—stories tied to your success, relationships, or reputation. But in Ephesians 1:1–14, the Apostle Paul tears through the noise and gives us something better. In this episode, we explore the deep truth that in Christ, you are chosen, loved, and sent. We’ll unpack the original context of ancient Ephesus—a spiritual, wealthy, progressive city not unlike ours—and see how Paul's words offer hope and purpose to us today. Whether you're doubting your value, wondering about your purpose, or just surviving, this passage reminds us of what’s been true all along: You are not what you do. You are who God says you are. Simple, clear, and deeply encouraging—this episode invites you to live from the gospel story, not a counterfeit one.

Come reflect with us on how God's covenant offers hope amid life’s chaos.
This Advent season, we begin by reflecting on the powerful hope woven through Scripture—starting with God’s covenant of creation. But the story takes a dramatic turn after humanity’s fall, yet God's covenant love remains, offering hope even in our darkest moments. As we await Christmas, we rediscover that Jesus is the ultimate hope of (re)creation—a promise of healing, transformation, and belonging for all who surrender to Him.

Freedom is often misunderstood today as personal preference and pleasure, but in the Bible it's about not just “freedom from” (sin, death, evil, the Devil), but also “freedom for” (service, love, mission). Paul and other NT writers present “free” Christians as not autonomous beings, but transferring from slavery to sin to slavery to Christ. Join us for part 8 of our 10 part Galatians teaching series as we explore this theme in 5:1-13 of “Freedom to Serve”

Galatians is largely about identity and belonging; “who am I? Who do I belong with? In a dangerous world, where is my safety?” Paul’s answer is that Christ welcomes all people freely into his family/community graciously. Join us as we explore Galatians chapter 3 where Paul differentiates the way of the Law, vs. the way of Faith. It’s important not to set the Law up as “bad cop,” because God gave a covenantal Law to Israel that was holy and righteous and good. However, it was restrictive and temporary, while faith & promise was always meant to be the permanent solution to sin.

There is a cynicism among the secular world towards the church and it goes something like this… “We love your Jesus… but we don’t understand why you His followers don’t look much like Him.” Join us today as we continue our series through the book of Galatians as we chip away at the secular world’s critique of the church with the good news that our formation into the image of Jesus is our witness of His love and mercy.

The early church had to navigate what it looked like for Gentiles (Greeks) to be incorporated into the new family of faith with Israel (Jews) in light of Jesus' death, resurrection, and ascension.Their big questions.... What about our food laws? circumcision? our special festivals? Are these necessary to be in the family of faith?Similarly, as our country moves towards November's election (and tbh, pick your hot button cultural issue as of late) we invite you to ground yourself in the book of Galatians which invites followers of Jesus to live as a united family of faith under the primary identity marker of Jesus and His way of love. But what does that look like? Testimony (Mark & David)
We as a church have a clear vision of inviting our community to belong to Jesus, believe in Jesus, and become like Jesus. I've asked Mark to share a brief testimony about how God has been opening doors and opportunities for him to do just that at his work place. 1. Tell us about the recent conversations you've been having with one of your co-workers who is from Cambodia. 2. Tell us about the interaction you recently had with your supervisor. Respect builds credibility. Listening builds trust. Invitation provides opportunity.
Jesus gives a clear picture in Luke 15:1-7 of his heart for people to come home to him. Whether the parable of the lost sheep is familiar or new to you, God has something special to say to you through this teaching today.
Did you know Yahweh commanded His people to love foreigners (immigrants) more than 30 times in the Old Testament? In the biblical story there’s what we know as the “quartet of the vulnerable” which included the orphan, widow, poor, and the immigrant. Interestingly enough, the first three of this quartet was standard ancient near eastern practice and law during Old Testament times - it was common law to care for the orphan, widow, and the poor. Yet immigrants were left out. In the words of Pastor Zach Szmara, “there is something distinctive about Yahweh’s ethics related to the foreigner.” Join us this Sunday as we continue our teaching series entitled, "migration and the people of God” as we dive into part 4 of 7: “Israel: a welcoming people."
ALL CULTURES AND SOCIETIES THROUGHOUT ALL OF TIME HAVE VIEWED IMMIGRANTS AS A THREAT OR A BURDEN OR BOTH… FOLLOWERS OF JESUS ARE CALLED TO SOMETHING RADICAL, UNCOMMON, AND COUNTER-CULTURAL WHEN THEY ARE CALLED TO LOVE AND WELCOME IMMIGRANTS. JOIN US AS FOUNDER AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF IMMIGRANT CONNECTION PASTOR ZACH SZMARA BRINGS A COMPELLING WORD AND INVITATION TO US. MORE INFO ABOUT IMMIGRANT
Abram the wanderer… Joseph the trafficking survivor… Moses the refugee… Ruth the marriage-based petition… David the asylum seeker… Daniel the faithful exile... The reality is, the major biblical characters in the Old Testament tell both compelling and challenging stories of migration which ought to inform how we view trends in migration today. But how? Join us for part 3 of our series Migration and the People of God as we explore the life of ancient Israel and the story of God’s people going from everywhere to everywhere.
Why is there such a crisis at the southern border? Why is there great disparity between people groups today? Join us as we explore part 2 of our teaching series, “Migration and the People of God” through the account of The Fall in Genesis 3. In short, alienation and displacement are the result of the humanities fall, not God’s good creation.
In the biblical story, God is credited for the creation of everything - particularly humans, who in the words of the author of Genesis says are, “made in the image of God.” But what does that mean, and what are the implications in our conversation on migration? Join us this Sunday as we dive into part 1 of our 6 part teaching series entitled “Migration and the People of God” as we explore the first major biblical movement: Creation.
Greetings,
We are so excited to host guest Global Partners missionary to Cambodia, Collette Nybakken, for worship tomorrow at 10am.
While attending Oklahoma Wesleyan University, Collette felt the strong call on her life to serve God long-term overseas. She had the opportunity to spend the summer in 2016 serving alongside Global Partners missionaries in Eswatini, where God confirmed her call into missions.
After many years of prayer and discernment, Collette was introduced to the work taking place in Cambodia. She knew immediately after conversations with a few of the team members serving there that God was calling her to join the mission there.
Her heart it to see that the lost be found, and that Gods light would shine through Cambodia.
For more info on how to partner with Collette, visit her Global Partners webpage here and meet her in person tomorrow morning!

What has influenced your perspective of foreign-born individuals? How much of that has been the Bible? Join us as we begin a new teaching series about becoming a faith community of loving welcome in a culture of fearful hostility. The Biblical story has a unique invitation for God’s people to embrace and welcome the sojourner… the foreigner… the immigrant. Join us as we dive into a 6 part teaching series titled “Migration and the People of God” with the goal of exploring this theme of Migration through the 6 biblical moments of Creation, Fall, Israel, Jesus, Church, and New Creation. Our aim is to provide our church family as well as the larger faith community of our time a biblical framework to both think about and respond to the increasing global trend of migration that we feel and see in our own backyard.
Join us for a special Palm Sunday worship service as we bring our 21 days of prayer and fasting to a close! We’ll hear personal testimony from our people on how God showed up and moved in their lives - You won’t want to miss this!
When Jesus died, Matthew 27:51 tells us that the giant veil that separated everyday people from the holy of Holies was torn in two. At that moment, holy architecture was completely undone. It used to be that God was over there and I’m over here… but not anymore… God’s spirit is right here.
The currency to build a pathway to God’s presence was blood - Jesus’ blood - the currency to enjoy the path is time. unhurried. uninterrupted. Time.
So last week we talked about why and how we fast, I want to take the next two weeks to have a conversation about why and how we pray.
And regardless of how this first week went for you, whether you felt like your prayer life was on fire or you just couldn’t get into it, I take a lot of solace from the fact that even Jesus’ first disciples took awhile to figure this out. In fact, they weren’t all that great at prayer!
Why Pray?
Jesus did and he invited us to as well.
Well here we are church, tomorrow is officially the first day of our 21 days of prayer and fasting… raise of hands if this is the first time you’ve ever participated in something like this?I’m super excited and a little nervous tbh for these next three weeks. I’m excited because I think the Church is at her best when she is seeking God intentionally and I am excited for the stories of breakthrough and transformation that will come as a result of these 3 weeks. I am a bit nervous because I have a hunch that God is going disrupt some things in our lives.God moving means something in us is changing.IE. If you’ve ever completed a workout plan to get fit or to compete in a race or competition, something had to change in you… habits, schedule, commitments, aversion to sweating and breathing hard. The same is true as we follow Jesus - He is always wanting to change something in our lives.
Join us guest speaker Ken shares the word today about focusing on God no matter what season of life we are in.
I really believe Jesus & His church are the hope of the world.I really believe eternity is on the line.I really believe the Kingdom of God is unshakable.I really believe the great commission matters.
Our journey with Jesus starts something like it did with the disciples “come follow me.” The Bible uses this metaphor of “sheep” and “shepherd” to describe our relationship with God. We’re never done being sheep:
Psalm 79:13 Then we your people, the sheep of your pasture, will praise you forever; from generation to generation we will proclaim your praise.
Why do I follow Jesus?
Jesus has changed my life.I really believe Jesus & His church are the hope of the world.I really believe eternity is on the line.I really believe the Kingdom of God is unshakable.I really believe the great commission matters.
John 10:11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”
Welcome to the fourth part of the Soul shift. There are 5 shifts that we can follow to get us closer to our lord.
When thinking of the words "consumer" and "steward", what comes to mind? Is the former a person "consuming" and never caretaking? Is the latter a person that simply watches over what they have been responsible for, but never investing and making something better of it? When following Jesus and wanting to shift our soul to his image, we are all called to be good stewards of everything we are giving from relationships, money, and especially our time. How are you called to make this transition to the simple consumption of everything, to creating it through the power of God into something beautiful? Join us as pastor David continues the series Soul Shift, shifting our souls into abiding in Jesus more.
The parable of the prodigal son has been told many times ever since Jesus shared it with the disciples. Does this mean that it is a one and done, meaning there is nothing else we can learn from this parable of a son walking away from his father and family and that is it? Or can we reevaluate this story and reflect on our own lives to see what God is telling us: to shift your soul and mind from thinking you are nothing more than a slave to your sin to shifting to being a child of God? Join us as pastor David continues this series of Soul Shift, intentionally transforming our soul into what reflects God's love and grace.
It may seem like the Old Testament can't be related to in these modern times because it takes place thousands of years ago. But the story it tells and the poem it writes about our God is consistent and His character is never changing. As we wrap up the book of Exodus, what does it tell you about God and how He looks at us through His character? Join us as pastor David dives once again into the book of Exodus to continue the story of Liberation and Renewal.

In the book of exodus, the hebrews struggled with submitting themselves to other false gods and idols rather than putting their faith in God. But even today we can make false idols when anything takes our attention from God whether that is hurry, social issues, and even good concepts like love more than finding love in God. What are idols that wind up in your life and things you need to destroy in order to put your attention back to God? Join us as pastor David continues this series of liberation and renewal in the book of Exodus.
In the Old Testament, statred in the Exodus from Egypt to settling in the new homeland, the Hebrews worship God in the tabernacle. This is the hallowed place where God comes down from heaven to meet with them. In the New Testament, Jesus' sacrifice on the cross began a new process of the Tabernacle, where the Holy Spirit comes down not to a place but into those who repent and accept Jesus' sacrifice for them. Where can you experience God dwelling with us? How does the story of Exodus still point to the exodus from a sinful life that we can experience through Jesus? Join us as pastor David continues the story of Exodus.
Many skeptics believe that the laws and teachings in the bible, especially the ten commandments in exodus, are just God telling us what to do. But if you really look at what they all teach and show, they point back to the covenant God desires for us: to uphold this beautiful marriage of Christ and the church, to love more than ourselves and our earthly desires. What way(s) is Jesus inviting you to follow His law of love?
We all have a journey to travel. The struggles might feel like they go on forever, but we are reminded in the gospel that the sun rises in the morning. We can see the same journey the Hebrews went on is the same journey we all go through but in Christ - the day comes with hard news, the night comes with sin and suffering that feels like the longest part, but then morning arrives that brings new life. What part are you on? What do you need to give to Jesus to continue to the morning? Join us as pastor David continues the story of Exodus.
God desires perfection, without sin, and in order to provide that, a perfect sacrifice is requred. For the Hebrews still in Egypt, it was a lamb free of imperfections, to be sacrificed delicately to God. For us and everyone else now, it is the perfect lamb of God, Jesus Christ. What renewal and removal of the imperfections of sin needs to happen in your life and your heart? Are you ready to receive the gift of eternal life through the acceptance of this perfect sacrifice of Jesus? Join us as pastor David dives into the Word of Exodus 11-13.

As we continue this series on the book of Exodus, we come across the ten plagues God sent down upon the egyptians. Some say that this was cruel and too far, but we can see from who He is that this was a physical application of His desire to soften the hearts of all egyptians, especially Pharoahs. The way God softens our hearts today is the hard conversations and prayes about repentance, vulnerability, and forgiveness. How can God soften your heart to hear what He has to say and to accept Christ into your life? Join us as pastor David continues this journey of Exodus.
Join Pastor Betsy as she continues the journey of Exodus and Moses explaining God's plan for liberation and renewal.

Forgiveness of other people's wrong doings towards us can be one of the most difficult things to do. Things are things that go through our minds countless of times when we becom hurt, but Jesus has made a way that we can choose to forgive not just for the sake of others but the mending of our hearts. Join us as member Ken shares the word today
