3 Moral Issues About Abortion

Let's not touch on the question that most preoccupies discussion of the subject -- whether abortion should be legal or illegal.
But let's talk in an unemotional way. The only question here is the moral one: Is ending the life of a human fetus -- moral?
Let's begin with this question: Does the human fetus have any value and any rights? Now, it's a scientific fact that a human fetus is human life. Those who argue that the human fetus has no rights say that a fetus is not a person. But even if you believe that, it doesn't mean the fetus has no intrinsic value or no rights. There are many living beings that are not persons that have both value and rights: Dogs and other animals, for example. And that's Moral Argument Number One: A living being doesn't have to be a person in order to have intrinsic moral value and rights.
When challenged with this argument, people usually change the subject to the rights of the mother -- meaning the right of a mother to end her fetus's life under any circumstance, for any reason, and at any time in her pregnancy. Is that moral? It is only if we believe that the human fetus has no intrinsic worth. But in most cases, nearl everyone believes that the human fetus has essentially infinite worth and an almost absolute right to live. When? When a pregnant woman wants to give birth. Then, society -- and its laws -- regard the fetus as so valuable that if someone were to kill that fetus, that person could be prosecuted for homicide. Only if a pregnant woman doesn't want to give birth, do many people regard the fetus as worthless. Now, does that make sense?
It doesn't seem to. Either a human fetus has worth or it doesn't. And this is Moral Argument Number Two: On what moral grounds does the mother alone decide a fetus's worth? We certainly don't do that with regard to a newborn child. It is society, not the mother -- or the father -- that determines whether a newborn child has worth and a right to live.
So, the question is: Why should that be different before the human being is born? Why does one person, a mother, get to determine whether that being has any right to live? People respond by saying that a woman has the right to "control her body. " Now, that is entirely correct. The problem here, however, is that the fetus is not "her body;" it is in her body. It is a separate body. And that's Moral Argument Number Three. No one ever asks a pregnant woman, "How's your body? " when asking about the fetus. People ask, "How is the baby? "
The Abortion Debate
There is much confusion in the abortion debate. The existence of a heartbeat is not enough, on its own, to confer a right to life. On this, I believe many pro-lifers are mistaken. But on the pro-choice side, is it ethical to abort fetuses as a way to select the gender of one's child,or instance?
We should not focus solely on the fetus, of course, but also on the interests of the mother, father, and society as a whole. Many believe that in order to achieve this goal, we need to provide much greater support to women who may want to ive birth and raise their children, but choose not to for financial, psychoogical, health, or relationship reasons; that adoption should be much less expensive, so that it is a live option for more qualified parents; and that quality health care should be accessible to all.
I fear, however, that one thing that gets lost in all of the dialogue, debate, and rhetoric surrounding the abortion issue is the nature of the human fetus. This is certainly not the only issue. But it is crucial to determining the morality of abortion, one way or the other. People on both sides of the debate would do well to build their views with this in mind.
Slavery and The Plantation

Planters embraced the use of slaves mainly because indentured labor became expensive. Some indentured servants were also leaving to start their own farms as land was widely available. Colonists tried to use Native Americans for labor, but they were susceptible to European diseases and died in large numbers. The plantation owners then turned to enslaved Africans for labor. In 1665, there were fewer than 500 Africans in Virginia but by 1750, 85 percent of the 235,000 slaves lived in the Southern colonies, Virginia included. Africans made up 40 percent of the South’s population.
According to the 1840 United States Census, one out of every four families in Virginia owned slaves. There were over 100 plantation owners who owned over 100 slaves.The number of slaves in the 15 States was just shy of 4 million in a total population 12.4 million and the percentage was 32% of the population.
Number of slaves in the Lower South: 2,312,352 (47% of total population) 4,919 million.
Number of slaves in the Upper South: 1,208,758 (29% of total population) 4,165 million.
Number of slaves in the Border States: 432,586 (13% of total population) 3,323 million.
Fewer than one-third of Southern families owned slaves at the peak of slavery prior to the Civil War. In Mississippi and South Carolina the figure approached one half. The total number of slave owners was 385,000 (including, in Louisiana, some free African Americans), amounting to approximately 3.8% of the Southern and Border states population.

On a plantation with more than 100 slaves, the capital value of the slaves was greater than the capital value of the land and farming implements. The first plantations occurred in the Caribbean islands, particularly, in the West Indies on the island of Hispaniola, where it was initiated by the Spaniards in the early 16th century. The plantation system was based on slave labor and it was marked by inhumane methods of exploitation. After being established in the Caribbean islands, the plantation system spread during the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries to European colonies in the Americas and Asia. All the plantation system had a form of slavery in its establishment, slaves were initially forced to be labors to the plantation system, these slaves were primarily native Indians, but the system was later extended to include slaves shipped from Africa. Indeed, the progress of the plantation system was accompanied by the rapid growth of the slave trade. The plantation system peaked in the first half of the 18th century, but later on, during the middle of 19th century, there was a significant increase in demand for cotton from European countries, which means there was a need for expanding the plantation in the southern parts of United States. This made the plantation system reach a profound crisis, until it was changed from being forcing slave labour to being mainly low-paid wage labors who contained a smaller proportion of forced labour. The monopolies were insured high profits from the sale of plantation products by having cheap labours, forced recruitment, peonage and debt servitude.

In the case of Apartheid, sport was used to isolate South Africa and bring about a major overhaul in the country's social structure. While ethnicity, race, social class and more can cause division, sports is also said to help blend differences.

Myth: Exposing yourself to direct sun rays or sunlight can help destroy COVID 19 germs
COVID19 disease germs are actually microscopic living organisms or viruses that require a healthy host body to survive. If the host body is healthy, it stays there dormantly without creating any unwanted health repurcussions. However if the same person, is moving freely through a crowd or congested public area, he has the capacity to pass the contagion to others. So weather rarely has any role to play with birth or destruction of COVID -19 produced disease germs. In the cold weather COVID germs become more actively involved in looking for a host body to avoid the unhospitable conditions outside.
Fact: COVID-19 germs are at home in warm weather freely roaming about the atmosphere looking for a host body to attack. The book is told from the standpoint of a poor household pet, a dog self-described by the first sentence of the story: "My father was a St. Bernard, my mother was a collie, but I am a Presbyterian." In the end, the dog (who does not realize her puppy is dead until her own hour is upon her) pines inconsolable over the grave of the puppy with the clear implication that she will do so until death.

The Law, a work written by the French political philosopher and economist Frederic Bastiat in 1850, investigates what happens in a society when the law becomes a weapon used by those in power to control and enslave the population.
What is the Purpose of Law?
Laws should be set to prevent certain actions which harm individuals and their property. It should not be used to compel or force people to act in a certain way.
Bastiat says, “When law and force keep a person within the bounds of justice, they impose nothing but a mere negation. They oblige him only to abstain from harming others. They violate neither his personality, his liberty, nor his property. They safeguard all these. . . But when the law, by means of its necessary agent ,force, imposes upon men a regulation of labour, a method or a subject of education, a religious faith or creed — then the law is no longer negative; it acts positively upon people.”
Since individuals are not allowed to force individuals to behave in certain ways, groups of individuals (governments, organizations, corporations) also should not be allowed by law to force individuals to act in certain ways.
“Since no individual acting separately can lawfully use force to destroy the rights of others, does it not logically follow that the same principle also applies to the common force that is nothing more than the organized combination of the individual forces?” “If this is true, then nothing can be more evident than this: The law is the organization of the natural right of lawful defense. It is the substitution of a common force for individual forces. And this common force is to do only what the individual forces have a natural and lawful right to do: to protect persons, liberties, and properties; to maintain the right of each, and to cause justice to reign over all.
Legalized Plunder: The Dangers that Occur when those in Power use the Law as a Weapon of Force
“The law perverted! And the police powers of the state perverted along with it! The law, I say, not only turned from its proper purpose but made to follow an entirely contrary purpose! The law become the weapon of every kind of greed! Instead of checking crime, the law itself guilty of the evils it is supposed to punish!”
One of the main ways in which those in power use the law as a weapon of force is through ‘legalized plunder’. One of the most accepted and prevalent forms of legalized plunder is taxation.
“When a portion of wealth is transferred from the person who owns it – without his consent and without compensation, and whether by force or by fraud – to anyone who does not own it, then I say that property is violated; that an act of plunder is committed. I say that this act is exactly what the law is supposed to suppress, always and everywhere. When the law itself commits this act that it is supposed to suppress, I say that plunder is still committed. . .”
“. . .when the plunder is abetted by the law, it does not fear your courts, your gendarmes [police], and your prisons. Rather, it may call upon them for help.”
The Spread of Legalized Plunder
Legalized plunder has been so prevalent throughout history because often groups who are initially the victim of legalized plunder try to gain power not to put an end to it, but so they can use the law to take the property of others.
“Men naturally rebel against the injustice of which they are victims. Thus, when plunder is organized by law for the profit of those who make the law, all the plundered classes try somehow to enter – by peaceful or revolutionary means – into the making of laws.” (

Bastiat believed that many in power use the law to commit “legalized plunder” because of pure greed. It is easier to take wealth from others instead of working to gain wealth.

Some use the law to engage in ‘legalized plunder’ not for selfish reasons but because they believe by taking wealth and property from others they’ll be able to help those in need.
“When a politician views society from the seclusion of his office he is struck by the spectacle of inequality that he sees. He deplores the deprivations, which are the lot of so many of our brothers, deprivations, which appear to be even sadder when contrasted with luxury and wealth. Perhaps the politician should ask himself whether this state of affairs has not been caused by old conquests and lootings, and by more recent legal plunder. . . But the politician never gives this a thought. His mind turns to organizations, combinations, and arrangements – legal or apparently legal. He attempts to remedy the evil by increasing and perpetuating the very thing that caused the evil in the first place: legal plunder.”
Bastiat believed that philanthropy could be achieved by a society without the use of legalized plunder. In other words, just because he was against legalized plunder to help those in need, did not mean he was against helping those in need.
Socialism
“Socialism, like the ancient ideas from which it springs, confuses the distinction between government and society. As a result of this, every time we object to a thing being done by government, the socialists conclude that we object to its being done at all.” “We disapprove of state education. Then the socialists say that we are opposed to any education. We object to a state of religion. Then the socialists say that we want no religion at all. We object to a state-enforced equality. Then they say that we are against equality. And so on, and so on. It is as if the socialists were to accuse us of not wanting persons to eat because we do not want the state to raise grain.”
Would a society that didn’t engage in legalized plunder (taxation) help others through voluntary means?
Bastiat suggested that the belief that only governments are capable of providing certain services arises from a perverse view of humanity – a view which maintains that free individuals lack the compassion, concern, and capability to help those in need.
“If the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to permit people to be free, how is it that the tendencies of these organizers are always good?”

Shawn Sturges
The summer of 2004 is when Shawn Sturges entered into his new life. He had just
graduated from high school, turned eighteen, and was experiencing a puzzling sudden
decline in vision. Before summer’s end his world turned black –literally black. That was
all he saw! He no longer had any perception of light left. Sturges was now classified as
“VI” or a visually impaired individual which was caused by Leber’s Hereditary Optic
Neuropathy. Prior to his vision loss he was involved in athletics which included
baseball, football, and martial arts. However, many of these activities were taken away
as soon as he begun to experience his vision loss.
The loss of his vision quickly resulted in a battle with depression which often separated
him from the rest of the world. After about a year of isolation Sturges felt that the time
to move on with life was important for recovery. Shortly after that decision he began
to seek out healthy ways to cope with the depression, so he found himself once again
involved with martial arts. He also entered college where he would later obtain
multiple Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration. What he learned was the
discipline, perseverance, determination, and belief in one’s own abilities that are
needed to find success which he later took to rock climbing.
In the fall of 2015 he was introduced to rock climbing by a friend, and from that first
time on the wall he was hooked. Sturges joined the local Adaptive Climbing Group (ACG)
to learn climbing techniques not only on the wall, but also in safety which means how to
use harnesses and knots to provide a measure of safety while climbing. Sturges states,
“The visual limitation that I face is not a hindrance that most believe it to be while
climbing. As an adaptive climber and individual in our world I am in a constant state of
problem solving. What I have learned as a blind individual is that my world is very
tactual, so rock climbing lends itself quite well to my world. I use visualization and flat
hand scanning a tremendous amount while I climb which helps me to determine my path
of upward ascent. My daily navigation skills that I use to travel around Chicago has also
helped me to find success in climbing since I am always aware of my body position and
surroundings which is also very important when on the wall. What I have determined is
that climbing to me is not that different from my everyday life and that realization will
be what helps me to achieve all my climbing goals.”
After a year of climbing at Brooklyn Boulders in Chicago he joined the ACG competition
team to compete at the USA Climbing Adaptive Nationals which was held in Georgia in
the summer of 2016. The many hours spent in the gym allowed him to take home
second place in the visually impaired category. This accomplishment earned him a spot
on team USA to compete in the 2016 IFSC World Para Climbing Championships which
were held in Paris, France. Although he did not place at World’s he learned a
tremendous amount about himself and climbing that he has taken back to Chicago with
him to not only train harder, but smarter for future competitions.

Our answer is: You are simply looking in the wrong direction for the answer to your concerns. You believe that the surface issue (i.e. losing your job) is your primary problem whereas it is actually a symptom of a deeper problem which is your negative attitudes towards the accompanying overwhelming emotional reactions to your surface issue (i.e. feeling trapped – unable to act due to immobilizing panic anxiety).
To obtain long term mastery over the feelings of anxiety, depression, frustration, and stress you have to assume the responsibility of addressing causes not symptoms by making a CHOICE to change your ATTITUDE. To do so you must listen to this podcast and try the exercises.

Unhappy At Work? A Change Is In Your Future
We all can’t be astronauts, professional athletes, dolphin trainers or test pilots — some of us have to work for a living. I’m not implying that the people in those professions don’t actually work, I’m suggesting that some jobs might not seem like work. Unfortunately, I don’t have one of those jobs and I’m guessing you don’t either. For the majority of us, work is a daily grind of repeating the same repetitive task day after day, month after month, year after year while spending eight or more hours a day with arrogant bosses and surly co-workers.
There is, however, hope for us drones. A change is coming. It may not be today, tomorrow or even this year, but your present situation will change. It has to, it’s the law. Okay, maybe not the law, but it is a law. It’s known as ‘The Universal Law of Impermanence’, which states that everything changes.
Some change comes rapidly and some change takes eons, but eventually everything changes. You could find another job, get a promotion or transfer, or maybe your unfair boss or troublesome colleague will leave. Eventually the situation will change — it has to.
Confucius said “Find a job you love and you’ll never have to work another day in your life.” If that sounds good to you, you probably don’t want to wait eons for it to occur. Buddhism teaches us that we can either wait for the change to occur naturally, or we can initiate the change. It’s the difference between taking control of our lives or leaving it all up to the whim of the universe.
How much time have you spent actually trying to improve your situation? Sure, complaining is easy but it accomplishes very little. Have you actually looked for another job? Have you tried to improve your skills through in-house training, adult learning centers, books or correspondence courses? If none of these options are available to you, have you tried creating a better relationship with your boss and co-workers? Even the smallest step in the right direction is progress.
There is no one solution that is perfect for everyone — we all have unique situations, but if we are persistent and creative enough there are always options available to begin the process of change. Some people believe that finding happiness at work is as elusive as finding the Holy Grail, but how will you know until you’ve really tried?
You can help speed up the process of change or you can wait for it to occur naturally. Either way, a change is coming — it’s a law.

A Woman in Control: Author Stacey Chillemi gives others with epilepsy a reason to stay strong.
The first moment of clarity arrived in college. "I developed epilepsy when I was 5; they believe it was caused by encephalitis," she says. "In those years, epilepsy was so hush-hush. So by the time I got to college, I wanted some information. "When I checked the college library (at then-Stockton State College, Galloway), they had maybe five books with information and all of it was written by and for doctors," she adds. "It was way over my head.
I wanted something that the average person could understand." Chillemi, who is married to Michael Chillemi, a chiropractor they have two sons, ages 7 and 4, and a daughter, 2 figured the most obvious thing to do was to write her own story. In the process, she discovered her story helped others with the affliction. She began writing books at the end of the 1990s, by which point she had married and, determined to live a full and "normal" life, had become pregnant.
Chillemi has since written five books, including her debut book, "Epilepsy: You're Not Alone An Epileptic's View on How to Cope With the Disorder," and another, prompted by raising her own children, "My Mommy Has Epilepsy."
She does not drive because of her epilepsy, and she has had seizures in front of her children. That, she says, moved her to record her own experiences in book form. "All kinds of people have epilepsy and it's not something you develop only when you're young or because you're poor or any of the usual cliches," she says. "But it is something that you have to believe you can live with, so you can pursue a happy and safe life.

When Humor Wasn’t A Dirty Word 1950 and 60’s
Tom Lehrer, Best known for the pithy, humorous songs he recorded in the 1950s and 1960s. Lehrer’s work often parodied popular song forms, though he usually created original melodies when doing so.
Tom Lehrer was probably one of the musical giants of the '60s..Lehrer often had a message he wanted to bring to his audiences. In the mold of a political folk musician, his music was shunned by mass media. But quite unlike contemporaries such as Dylan and Phil Ochs, who rose to fame on the wings of the New Left, Lehrer's song writing career was stifled by the changes of that era.
He was born in 1928, and began taking classical piano lessons 8 years later. His personal preference, however, was for the popular music of the day. His parents graciously allowed him to change to a piano teacher who was willing to indulge his desire for show tunes. In future years, Lehrer's songs would draw heavily from this early exposure. "Having a popular music teacher worked out very well for me. I began writing tunes when I was seven or eight. But I was in college when I began writing parodies of popular songs," recalled Lehrer in an article in American Scholar [4]. His later satirical songs evolved from these simple parodies.
Lehrer’s work often parodied popular song forms, though he usually created original melodies when doing so.
His Musical Career
Lehrer began his serious efforts at song writing in his undergraduate days, parodying in both lyrics and style the popular music of the day. According to Lehrer, "The only one of those songs that eventually made it into my repertoire was 'Fight Fiercely , Harvard,' which was written in 1945 and shows it. I started singing these songs at parties, but never with the intention of their becoming commercial." In 1950, he began performing at Harvard functions, but his renown quickly spread to the Cambridge community, where he began singing at "dance intermissions and smokers and things like that."] After several years of this, he began to tire of performing the same songs over and over again. Polling his concert audiences, he figured that he could find 300 customers for a Tom Lehrer record, and so in 1953 recorded The Songs of Tom Lehrer. "It was a case of the right technology at the right time. By then there were LPs that you could ship yourself. With the old 78s this would have been impossible," recalled Lehrer.
As his songs were considered too crude too play on the radio, Lehrer had to rely on the record to spread his music. After several months of local sales, he began receiving orders from around the county as Cambridge college students brought the album home with them to share with their friends. With his renown somewhat on the rise, Lehrer began performing more often. In short order, however, he succumbed to the draft board, serving two years using his mathematical skills on various classified projects.
He left the army in 1957, just as the concept of a touring popular music concert was emerging. "There was no real concert circuit; the Kingston Trio started all that. The idea of a George Carlin or a David Steinberg giving a concert just didn't exist.". Finding that he was still in demand, Lehrer gave his first concert that year at Hunter College, and spent the next 3 years touring most of the English speaking world, including Australia and New Zealand. Even in the prime of his performing career, however, Lehrer knew that live entertainment was not his cup of tea. In a 1957 article in Newsweek , he quite bluntly said "I wouldn't want to do this all my life. It's okay while I'm still an adolescent," a sentiment he would later expand on.
By 1959, he was getting tired of the concert circuit. As a farewell, he recorded a second album, An Evening (Wasted) With Tom Lehrer, during a concert at Harvard. "I didn't want to put the record out until I was ready to retire from performing. I figured that if the record was out, who would want to come hear me?"[4] He returned to his life as a Harvard grad student in 1960, where he would continue until concluding in 1965 that he far preferred teaching mathematics to researching mathematics. "I kept saying to myself that if I ever get this dissertation written, I will never have to do any research again. Then I realized that I must be telling myself something, so I decided enough is enough," .
Though he was no longer performing, Lehrer's song writing abilities were not laying idle. In 1964, NBC began broadcasting an Americanized version of the British show That Was The Week That Was. In Lehrer's words, the show was billed as a "biting, satirical, hard hitting, no holds barred show...but we're not out to offend anybody. I listened to it for a few weeks and I thought 'hey, I can write stuff as good as that.' So I started to do it and send them in. I never actually appeared on the show, but I sent them in and usually they used them."

Nancy Hartwell, an American author who has written extensively on human trafficking. Nancy first became fascinated with this topic several years ago while living in Cameroon for fourteen years. It was later revealed that she was sold into the sex trade in the Persian Gulf.

Gordon’s analysis of our health insurance industry is fascinating and informative. It’s a scenario of lobbying run amuck to the point that it’s totally dysfunctional today. An inset quote from the piece gives this summary result of our current health insurance mess: "If patients are indifferent to the costs of medical services they buy, they are much more likely to buy more of them and the cost of each service is likely to go up. There is no price competition to keep prices in check.”
The original hospital insurance also contained the seeds of two other major economic dislocations, unnoticed in the beginning, that have come to loom large. The first dislocation is that while people purchased hospital plans to be protected against unpredictable medical expenses, the plans only paid off if the medical expenses were incurred in a hospital. As a result, cases that could be treated on an outpatient basis instead became much more likely to be treated in the hospital—the most expensive form of medical care.
The second dislocation was that hospital insurance did not provide indemnity coverage, which is when the insurance company pays for a loss and the customer decides how best to deal with it. Rather than indemnification, the insurance company provided service benefits. In other words, it paid the bill for services covered by the policy, whatever the bill was. As a result, there was little incentive for the consumer of medical services to shop around. With someone else paying, patients quickly became relatively indifferent to the cost of medical care.
We need to ensure that the consumers of medical care—you and me—care about the cost of medical care. Getting patients to shop for lower-cost services is vital.

Even though Jews make up less than one quarter of one percent of the world’s population, they are one of the most targeted minority groups in the world. Why all the hate for the Jews?
Before we look at why people hate Jews, also known as Antisemitism, we need to define “Jew.” A Jew is someone who identifies with the cultural community whose traditional religion is Judaism and who traces their ancestry to the ancient Hebrew people of Israel, all the way back to Abraham. Jewish people are considered an ethnoreligious group. Both an ethnic group and a religion. There are plenty who identify as Jews yet are not religious. Israel’s Law of Return, which is the law that gives Jews the right to visit and be a citizen of Israel, says a Jew is someone with either a Jewish mother or who has converted to Judaism.
Anyway, during the time of Jesus in ancient Israel, many were of course Jewish, including Jesus himself. After Jesus died, his followers started a new religion called Christianity. As Christianity spread, and as more and more Roman emperors converted to the religion, Jews became marginalized in society, even though Jews worshipped the same God as Christians did. Roman rulers viewed the refusal of the Jewish community to accept Jesus as the Messiah as a threat. They straight up passed laws that discriminated against Jews. In the year 399, a law saying Jews couldn’t marry Christians, in 439, a law saying Jews couldn’t hold positions in government. In 531, a law saying they couldn’t appear as witnesses against Christians in court. Rumors began to spread that Jews had horns and tails, and that they killed Christian children and used their blood for rituals.
In the Middle Ages, many societies forced Jews to live in segregated ghettos and wear special clothing. The Catholic Church did not allow Jews to own land, so Jews couldn’t build up wealth through property. However, the Church also didn’t let Christians loan money for profit. Jews could, so they often turned to money lending to build up wealth. Due to the fact that nearly every moneylender happened to be Jewish, this ended up creating a stereotype that Jews were greedy. I mean, people who loan money and charge interest throughout history have rarely been seen in a positive light, amIright? Christian rulers used Jewish money to build extravagant churches and build up armies.
By the 11th century, Christianity dominated Europe, and the main minority religion was Judaism. Jews seemed to be the one group Christians could not convert, seen as outsiders. By this time, the Catholic Church was even teaching that Jews were responsible for the death of Jesus. And then, the Black Death. During the 14th century, the bubonic plague spread quickly across Europe, killing around ⅓ of its entire population. Since this was before science, people had no idea what was causing it. Due to superstition and fear, and without any evidence whatsoever, Christians blamed Jews for causing the plague, accusing them of poisoning wells to spread the disease.

Take the Anti-Semitism Survey
The Anti-Defamation League published a broad survey of worldwide anti-Semitism in 2015, that it conducted among 50,000 people from 100 countries. The results show that one-quarter of the world is anti-Semitic. Fifty percent of Muslims, a quarter of Christians and even a fair number of Buddhists were found to be anti-Semitic on the basis of the survey. Now in 2018 things have only gotten worse.There were 1,986 incidents of anti-semitism in the United States in 2017, the ADL found, which included vandalism and physical assaults. The incidents occurred in all 50 states, and the spike was the highest during the first three months of the year.
On the survey, anyone who agreed with at least SIX (6) of the supposedly anti-Semitic statements was defined as anti-Semitic.
The results showed that one-quarter of the world is anti-Semitic. Fifty percent of Muslims, a quarter of Christians and even a fair number of Buddhists were found to be anti-Semitic on the basis of the survey. Now in 2018 things have only gotten worse.

The College consists of 538 electors, and an absolute majority of 270 electoral votes is required to win an election. Pursuant to Article II, Section 1, Clause 2, the legislature of each state determines the manner by which its electors are chosen. Each state's number of electors is equal to the combined total of the state's membership in the Senate and House of Representatives; currently there are 100 senators and 435 representatives. Additionally, the Twenty-third Amendment provides that the District of Columbia is entitled to the number of electors no greater than that of the least populous state (i.e., 3).

The United States Constitution is the supreme law of the United States. The Constitution, originally comprising seven articles, delineates the national frame of government. Its first three articles embody the doctrine of the separation of powers, whereby the federal government is divided into three branches: the legislative, consisting of the bicameralCongress; the executive, consisting of the President; and the judicial, consisting of the Supreme Court and other federal courts. Articles Four, Five and Six embody concepts of federalism, describing the rights and responsibilities of state governments and of the states in relationship to the federal government. Article Seven establishes the procedure subsequently used by the thirteen States to ratify it. It is regarded as the oldest written and codified national constitution in force in the world.
Since the Constitution came into force in 1789, it has been amended 27 times, including an amendment to repeal a previous one, in order to meet the changing needs of a nation that has profoundly changed since the eighteenth century. In general, the first ten amendments, known collectively as the Bill of Rights, offer specific protections of individual liberty and justice and place restrictions on the powers of government. The majority of the seventeen later amendments expand individual civil rights protections. Others address issues related to federal authority or modify government processes and procedures. Amendments to the United States Constitution, unlike ones made to many constitutions worldwide, are appended to the document. All four pages of the original U.S. Constitution are written on parchment.
