We are all made of many complex layers that form or come about because of our life's experiences. Oftentimes, we only highlight and embrace what we like about ourselves and ignore or even become critical of what we may dislike about ourselves. It is important to embrace all of these layers, because these layers make up important parts of who we are! Period poverty, defined as a lack of access to menstrual products, hygiene facilities, waste management, and education, affects many women globally causing physical, mental, and emotional challenges. The stigma that shrouds periods further prevents individuals from talking about it.
