Heads and Volleys is a grassroots Soccer game that reflects the youth soccer environment. The game was played as everyone VS the GK and you could only score with a header or a volley. Simple, right? Wrong. It was complex and fraught with arguments that resulted in 'taking my ball home' or some kind of one-off shot to determine if it was a goal or not. Much like those arguments, this podcast will embrace discussions, trends, and ideas to grow the game, and will not let anyone take their ball home early. I plan on delivering the 'defensive' side of our Game Model this way.
Google forms - I'm asking the players to explain what 8 key words mean to them - the key words I use a lot!
I have a Power Questions document available to challenge your players with your own google forms or in any other form you want to challenge them with.

- I have created videos for YouTube and they are fun to do also - fire away on that!
Then there are dedicated platforms that will do the work for you, like MyPersonalFootballCoach. Explore Sauls content - it’s so worth it for your players to have some dedicated content for them to be challenged with, incase you do not have the (insert shortcoming here) to produce for your players.
There is a lot you can do. Spend some quality time with yourself (no choice?), check in, meditate. Don’t waste it on Football Manager, but use the time to better yourself and be available to your players - which is also a really good time to see who is really ‘committed’ or interested in what you have to say - take that however you like!

My new friend, Bernard, approached me recently and wanted to schedule some time to get together and talk Soccer. He is a coach and counsellor at the Two Rivers Soccer Camp and is starting out on his own coaching journey. He has coached teams within the SF Youth Soccer league, that I am the program director for, and is simply eager to be the best he can be, which begins with asking questions.
We sat for almost two hours and after I realized it should have been recorded (newbie to this podcasting business) and so had him send me the questions again, and here is the result.
If everyone would ask questions, we might be in a better place.
