Transformed by Worship - The Tarbiya Effects of Ritual Worship in Islam by Dr. Salah Soltan
Worship is an act of submission and glorification of God. In His wisdom and mercy, God designed worship to be a dynamic force in human life. We discover in the rituals of worship—purification, prayer, zakah, fasting and Hajj—elements that empower our holistic development and reform our communities.
Through worship, we are transformed. Transformed by Worship lays out the textual evidence and scholarship around Islam’s essential acts of worship, extracting the impact on our individual and collective lives. This study explores worship through four lenses in turn: the soul, character, mind and body. Readers will learn how to restore vibrancy to their worship while developing a deeper appreciation for the routines and rulings of Islam. This work is translated from the original Arabic volume "Al-Athar Al-Tarbawiyah lil-Ibadat fil-Islam."
About the author Dr. Salah Soltan is a world-renowned Muslim scholar who wrote more than 60 books in the areas of jurisprudence, family law, and other fields of Islamic knowledge. Dr. Soltan founded the Islamic American University, served on the board of the Fiqh Council of North America, and lectured students around the country.
Translated by Abdelminem Mustafa with Maha Ezzeddine and Rayhan El-Alami (MAS Publishing)

On this episode of "Strive", Reshad and Ismahan discuss the stimulus package, halting immigration and upcoming opportunities to strive during Ramadan.
Checkout reflections about the ayat mentioned in this episode:
How are the cattle more guided then the human who Allah has honored ? It is not that Allah put in the cattle more resources then the human , however then the cattle use the intellect Allah placed in them to pursue what benefits them of food and drink and avoid what harms them of danger , predators , etc.
The human who was given more intellect , when he doesn't use it to avoid what harms his existence in this world and the next and to pursue what benefits him, he becomes more misguided the cattle who are following the path Allah created them for.
Chapter 7: The Heights, Verse: 179
Indeed, We have destined many jinn and humans for Hell. They have hearts they do not understand with, eyes they do not see with, and ears they do not hear with. They are like cattle. In fact, they are even less guided! Such ˹people˺ are ˹entirely˺ heedless. (179)

Transformed by Worship: The Tarbiya Effects of Ritual Worship in Islam by Dr.
This work is translated from the original Arabic volume Al-Athar Al-Tarbawiyah lil-Ibadat fil-Islam.

On this episode of Transformation, Imam Fuad discusses key figures in his early life, seeking knowledge and righteous company, purposeful study, setting a good example, the importance of reading and much more.
Join me each week as we discuss the transformation of people through Tarbiya and much more.
Imam Fuad was born in Ethiopia and was raised in Seattle,WA. During his teen years, he found it difficult to find people in his community he could to relate to. So he became inspired to learn more about his Deen so that one day he can be an example for the youth who were just like him in his teen years.
He became a personal student of the Imam at Masjid AR Rahman and learned various books of Hadith starting from Arbaeen through Al-Bukhari and finished memorizing the Holy Quran. After graduating high school he became eager to study oversees. So he traveled to Cairo, Egypt where he went on to study the Islamic sciences which include Arabic, Tafseer, Fiqh Hadith, and Aqidah with specialization in the Shafi School. He graduated with an Arabic Diploma from Al-Kalima Institute and earned an Islamic diploma in Sharia from Al-Furqaan. He attended Al-Azhar until he had leave the country due to the unrest caused by the coup d’etat. After returning to Seattle in 2014 he continued his studies with the local imams in the Puget Sound area and started teaching in numerous Madarasah’s in the local area including Islamic Center of Eastside, Masjid AR Rahman, MAPS, Masjid Tawheed, and Mercy Association Center.
Imam Fuad was the former Imam of Tawhid Islamic Center and now is the current Imam of Masjid al- Furqan the second largest Islamic center in Washington State and Executive Director of MAS White Center.
He is currently working on getting a masters degree in linguistics, with plans of translating Islamic books from Arabic to english. He has written a Hashi of the 40 Hadith of Imam Nawawi. He is in the process of writing various books on the doubtful matters of Islam.
