A brief, comedic weekly debate between James Breakwell and Steve Olivas. Hear their highbrow positions unfold as they argue meaningless topics -- that everyone secretly has a strong opinion about!
James can be found on twitter (@XplodingUnicorn) and Facebook (Exploding Unicorn) Steve can be found on twitter (@steveolivas) and on Facebook (Steve Olivas)
More hijinks this week, as Steve shows off his amazing intuitive prowess by accurately guessing the plot of James' upcoming book (**well...sort of...). You'll laugh along as the insults fly and the hosts try to one-up each other.
After a quick week hiatus, the boys are back to talk about James' front and backyard. Not figuratively, but literally. He details the work he has done at his house, admitted he did not tidy up for Steve's visits, and reinforced the notion that the two co-hosts never talk outside of the show in an effort to not burn good content.
This week, the boys stumble upon some feedback that mentioned how handsome Steve is. James too umbrage with this assertion, and Steve challenged him to a twitter poll. As you can imagine, that kicked off an argument that remains unsettled to this day...
Steve is still alive...barely! This week, the boys dig into an incident that derailed a possible recording session of W&W. James texted Steve, who was knee-deep in a problem--there was an active rattlesnake he and Mrs. Steve were trying to extricate from a woodpile near their cabin. Listen in as the details unfold--and suffice it to say, Steve's new bypasses were put to the test!
In a much-anticipated episode, Steve details the events surrounding his heart attack, and his subsequent air evacuation, open heart surgery, hospital stay, and recovery process at home. James has questions and pokes fun (having survived a couple near death experiences of his own) but was enthralled by the saga. This is our longest episode ever--and will probably be the most listened-to episode ever. Strap in and walk in Steve's footsteps!
It's been a while since we've skipped a week -- and this week is no exception! The boys take a look back, reminiscing over some of the best penalty videos from the debate era of W&W. Also, viewer feedback is read live, and the usual level of humor is dispensed (**you can decide whether that means a lot or a little)!
Welcome to our 300th episode! The boys celebrate with a story of Steve being reprimanded by the head of referees after comments made during a hockey broadcast over the weekend. James, as you can imagine, drew great delight from the story and the consequences. Hear it all and help us launch our NEXT 300 episodes this week!
This week, Steve tells the story he has been sitting on for a couple weeks. It has to do with an overflowing septic tank, a very brave septic repair man, and a long glove that extended past his shoulder. You may want to listen before a big meal, as your food will not sit well if you wait until after!
There was a big snafu this week - and rather than try to cut it out, the tape just goes silent! Watch in fascination as we hold a production meeting on the fly (Steve didn't even know we were still recording). Quite a "behind-the-scenes" episode of Wrong & Wronger this week!
The title says it all this week - Steve has another "situation" at the ranch...and it ain't good. James delights in getting the whole story, and tells a tale of current plumbing woes himself!
Sometimes, the best topics come out of nowhere! James and Steve take you inside the minds of men. Hang tight...it's going to be a rough ride!
James and Dr Steve make it TWO in a row!!! This week they discuss the storm of 2024 and how it has affected both of their lives. Too much ground was covered to possibly list it all here -- listen and laugh along!
A special Halloween episode this week--but bittersweet, as Steve is recording for the final time in his (former) office. James comes dressed for a party, and the two talk about hijinx from Halloweens past.
This week marks the final time the show will be recorded in Steve's office. The co-hosts bid a tearful adieu by discussing the two most important objects remaining: 1. the poster of James, and 2. The mystery box. Still unopened, James ridicules Steve for his cowardice. Lastly, viewer mail is opened again, unleashing more listener-generated comedy!
This week, Steve takes the advice of a listener and lets James talk. Not that James has ever needed a good reason to talk and talk and talk, but he shares some entertaining anecdotes this week. Not to mention, Steve came across a very interesting find while clearing out his office. Long-time listeners will want to hear about what he found!
This week, a hodgepodge of stories and jokes, as the co-hosts clean up some loose ends and Breakwell gives everyone an update on the feedback he received for his most recent sci-fi novel. Steve is FINALLY able to report he got one of the marauding coyotes...a feat James is quick to downplay. All in good fun, as is the content EVERY week!
By popular demand (and in case you're interested in hearing the show referenced yesterday), here is the ACTUAL shower-pee episode from 2017. Our most-downloaded episode ever, revisit the shame for the sake of posterity.!
This week, Steve brings in even more viewer mail, as the floodgates seem to have opened. Unimpressed, James enjoys the criticism heaped onto Steve. In the end, both hosts reminisce about their most-downloaded episode ever ("Should you pee in the shower?").
This week couldn't even get off the ground before James and Steve derail the entire mojo by arguing over viewer mail. Steve ends up reading three submissions from fans, despite James' best attempts to hijack the episode. More of what you've come to expect from your favorite curmudgeons!
James asks about a video Steve posted this week. Apparently, Steve came home one day, only to find Mrs. Steve standing in a field, prepared to take out something in the woods. It was a coyote--but one that had been causing a lot of problems at Rattlesnake Ranch. Find out what happened and what was done in a another "nature wants to crush us all!" edition of Wrong & Wroner!
James and Steve kick off another week by talking about the latest calamity to befall Rattlesnake Ranch--hornets. There is a lot of meat to this episode, and not the least of which might get hunted by some of nature's most skilled predators...giant hornets. Listen in horror as James grills Steve about the options (spoiler alert: James is pulling for Steve to whack the next with a golf club). Thanks for listening!
With the usual run-up of complaints, critiques, and chronic curmudgeon-ness, James and Steve chronicle this week's calamities. But in the end, the most time is spent on Steve's wife burning their doghouse because of pests that threatened the life of all who inhabit Rattlesnake Ranch. Listen along as James unfurls the story of how Mother Nature continues to fuel The Curse!
Never mind that Steve had a rock star visit Rattlesnake Ranch this past week--he and James go off on the city of Chicago! Both hosts tell personal stories to underscore their well-deserved vitriol, and haters gonna hate. If you've never been enthralled with the windy city, this is the episode for you!
We are on a roll, and you have another episode in a row! Somehow, we stumble onto parenting snafus, and Breakwell is forced to admit that his children are winning the war on his sanity. James and Steve break down the game film and pinpoint the exact moments that accelerate Breakwell's descent into madness. Listen and marvel as his spiral picks up speed!
A LOT going on with this episode--as Steve seems to draw the ire of a local Tennessee yellow jacket. The bee persists, despite Steve's repeated attempts to thwart an attack. Meanwhile, James plays off of the story of Steve's son moving down to college this weekend--to tell a story of his own: where he admits he would have had NO PROBLEM lying to a priest. Take it as it comes--this is one of the WRONGEST episodes ever!
Steve talks about his big birthday trip to Chicago--and Breakwell tries to take away the glory off all that was accomplished. As per usual, you get typical sniping and grousing...with Steve coming out as the better of the two men (Steve wrote this episode description, BTW).
This is not a weel for the easily freaked-out...James discusses--in harrowing detail--his recent butt attack. As delightful as that may sound, the ensuing surgery and recovery almost made Steve pass out (from sheer terror). Listen at your own peril!!! (as per usual)
Back for an unprecedented second week in a row, the co-hosts discuss the history of the show and their relationship. Apparently, both are still here willingly, and neither has been coerced to continue doing the show. Listen in as the boys do a little soul-searching.
Can you believe its been over a month since we last left our heroes? Never fear, James and Steve are here! After a long layoff for Breakwellian reasons, the boys provide an explanation and some exciting news about the things they've been up to. Much anticipated laughs and good times with good friends ensue. Good to be back!
Live from Steve's bathroom, he and James (somehow) manage to talk about bathrooms for the entire episode. Listen in and marvel at their ability to speak for any length of time about any topic--and make it entertaining and funny every step of the way!
It's the last day of school for Breakwell's kids--so summer vacation is knocking at the door (**a callback to last week's episode)! James and Steve spend the time telling summer vacation stories from their own mis-spent youths...let us know which is your favorite!
It was just another run-in-the-mill episode...until an unseemly stranger knocked at James' door!
This week, Steve mentions there are (potentially) killer bullfrogs in his pond. After a brief discussion about whether teenagers should or should not kill frogs in biology class, James asserts that the frogs are a curse brought about by all of Steve's misdeeds in the early 1980s. A hilarious romp through 25 minutes--that will quite possibly leave you having nightmares tonight.
Watch and revel in Steve slowly freezing to death in order to accommodate James' need to record at the crack of dawn. More talk proceeds of apples, vegetables, and the relative intelligence of birds that have a brain the size of your pinky nail. Laughs and deep-pull info from both co-hosts in another consecutive episode!!!
A health update from the king of injuries and surgeries, James Breakwell! Also in this episode, a ranch update and a discussion of how Steve is quite possibly the worst hunter on the face of the earth. It's good to be back--and YOU are the beneficiary of our triumphant return (after a week off for Breakwell's surgery).
The funniest episode we have ever done, bar none. Once the boys gathered some steam, Steve was out of breath from laughing for most of the episode. James tells hedonistic stories of gluttony and incredible feats of eating and drinking. You have to experience this Wrong & Wronger to believe it!
A lonely turkey made Steve wonder about James' high school dating experiences. Never one to back down from a question about his own humiliating history, James tells several tales of poorly timed or poorly executed dating situations. Steve shares one too--as both men laugh their way into adulthood.
As predicted, James takes the entire episode to detail his THIRD surgery in the past 8 months. This one may horrify you (it certainly did Steve). Get ready to enter the land of discomfort, as James leaves no detail unspoken...that is, until Steve outs him for what he's REALLY trying to say!
The boys are back in town--and telling more tales of cursed happenings on the ranch. James held back on a story but predicted a long GOOD tale for next week. And all of this happened after the two co-hosts had another nonsensical argument over the thirty seconds they sparred before hitting "record." All funny, and all WRONGER!
James and Steve discuss the nuance of our mother tongue because of an email sent by an alert listener who takes issue with the way Steve says a certain word. But then--and perhaps even MORE hilarious--James stumbles upon a nickname Steve has earned in his small town. James has perhaps never laughed harder during an episode then he does as they discuss the origin story. You cannot miss this one!
This week, James wants to talk about a strange series of text messages he received from Steve over the weekend--texts that asked very specific questions about pig-rearing. The two go over James' history with hogs, and Steve's budding career (?) path. A hysterical episode filled with more of what you gave come to love!
This week, Steve almost slept through the recording time--but we are back with another stellar episode! The boys discuss underpants, divorce, board games, James's imperviousness to caffeine, and why Steve can't sleep. Some deep thoughts and ridiculous conversation--as you have come to expect!
WE roll into a fourth week in a row with another hilarious episode! Much of the episode focuses on sick kids and nefarious both co-hosts have tried to get away with as parents. The Steve talks about the latest critter updates--spoiler alert: it's coyote romance time! All this and more on your favorite podcast, Wrong & Wronger!
This week, it seems our mouths may have finally caught up with us. It is difficult to say how these conversations begin, but James and Stev stumble into a discussion of Mennonites and Amish folks. Clutch your pearls as we head into dangerous territory--and judge the results. Another scintillating episode!
Another great episode! Steve talks about the most recent embodiment of the Curse of Rattlesnake Ranch, and James points out that Steve's solution could have followed a horror movie plotline and gotten him killed. The pair also briefly revisit last week's unspeakable topic, plus discuss skeletons, predators, and reasons the show still (inexplicably) goes on.
Two weeks in a row! To thank the fans, James and Steve venture into an area that SHOULD be roped off from the few fine folks who listen to this show. The conversation began with both hosts sharing their experience with mooning other people...and then things take a turn for the worst. LIsten to the episode that James declares as being, "The last one we';re ever going to do!" as he expresses his horror. What could be so bad? Listen and find out!
The boys begin by talking about Steve losing hot water over the Christmas break...but then the conversation meanders to domestic travel for both hosts. James has had some exciting times...Steve is the most boring traveler on the planet. Listen and laugh as the hosts take shots at each other--as per usual!
This week, the hosts begin by apologizing for the long layoff (ha -- AS IF!). But they get into arguments about several things, resolving as James teaches us more than any person EVER wanted to know about Indiana geography...and concludes with a hilarious tale of a particular Australian sandwich...
News of our death is greatly exaggerated...Yes! James and Steve are back after nearly a month--and as a special "thank you" to the fans who have stuck around during the downtime, we opened the floor to listener questions. A grand total of nine were sent in, and the hosts address each in order. A little insight and a little fun behind the curtain!
This week, James and Steve talk about the technical failures that once again nuked the episode last week. They move on to talk about (of all things) -- EMUS! Yup... buckle up and prepare yourself for more emu talk than you have (probably) listened to in many, many years.
Happy Halloween! This week, James and steve talk about their Halloween experiences, including a commonality they never realized: both have dressed as women. This week, the boys return to form by talking about mishaps, insults, and a possible future trip to Rattlesnake Ranch for James. Steve answers questions about why he has no chance of ever shooting a turkey, and James adds that he would rather eat a pig, anyway. No topic is taboo on THIS show!

The franken-file is here!! James had to cobble together THREE separate segments to make this episode happen...you tell us if it was worth it. James also shares an UNCOMFORTABLE story about some post-surgery issues he had...and you might want to hang onto your lunch for this one. Super HAY-UGE episode this week!!!

James's vacation and Steve's ranch updates are also tossed around--just before a GIANT thunderstorm opens up over Steve,
What can we say? We missed you guys for the past two weeks! Whether we missed each other is up for considerable debate... But join us in getting back together and discussing a possible shift to audio only. Weigh in please--your feedback is crucial!
