I found this track lying around. Maybe I should finish this one. Denis recorded the music a few years back and I laid the vocals a year or so later. Always meant to throw some harmonies on this one.
A friend wanted me to learn this song. I was shocked when I was learning the lyrics when I realised what it was about. He sent me a backing track and I worked on some vocals. We are going to give this one a another try I think as well as some other O'Sullivan tunes aws we are both fans. Saw him in Oslo a couple of year ago. Awesome show.

A friend sent me a link to this song on youtube and I just had to record it, after I learned to say it. Had to pull out the whisky for this one. At first it helped..... until it didn't. haha.
Feeling a bit melancholy today. Was watching a biopic on Brian Wilson when I suddenly realised it was my 22nd wedding anniversary. Then I heard this song.....
Haven't done a collaboration in a while. Decided on this one. My brother Denis is in Massachusetts and I'm in Norway. I really sharing files back and forth. Had fun with this one!
I've always like Olivia Newton.John and particularly this track. I've been hearing it a bit on the radio of late, and so, well here it is.
Here is a neat little tune I found today. Apparently this was released on the Porky's Revenge soundtrack. It was written by Bob Dylan and picked up by George.
Have been discussing George Harrison song writing with some friends recently. This song came up in the convo, so decided to record it tonight. Had alot of difficulty with this one as I didn't know the lyrics, they are quick, and I can't see for shit these days. Got a track I was able to work with.
I'm a huge fan of the Brothers Gibb. As I've been couped up in my house for over 2 weeks now.. I couldn't help myself with this one.

Have always liked this song.. Was reminded of it today on a phone call with my brother- We'd talked about doing it before. I dropped the key down a half step to Bb so I can hit the notes without much trouble.
Found this Gem of George Harrison's self titled LP from 1979. Denis and I have been working on this for some weeks. Today it's dedicated to Mom. Your love is forever.

This is first go at this one.. Always liked this one, and I have a clear memory of my Dad learning this one when I was a kid. I sang it the next night after making this recording. I think I'll work on this one some more.. Such a pretty song.
I was learning a few bowie tunes in my studio and hadn't planned on recording this one, but it just sort of happened.. I've always love Jeff Lynne's writing and ELO in general.. I find his vocal range a bit difficult so I tend to change the keys on his tunes.. He recorded in E, and I'm playing in Bb (A pattern Capoed on first fret). I really love the chord patterns in E but just way too high (usually)

When I first heard this song, I was on a bus heading home from work. I was sobbing by the end of it. This could have been written about me easily. This is how I lived for nearly 4 years when I was going through a very bad depression after my partner died; I pretty much fell apart.
So if you are a repeat listener and always wondered "why all the sad songs".... now you know.
Was messing around with this song... Not quite finished with it, this is a practice take.

Had never heard this one by Gerry and the Pacemakers. Absolutely loved it, and honestly I think Gerry Marsden has an unmatched voice during the liverpool invasion. Seems like a swell chap too.

Never heard of the band called Pussycat until the other day. I was forced to listen to a bunch of their tunes, and I surprisingly liked them alot.. It definitely hits my country chord. I find their chord arrangements to be a bit odd, but I guess it works. Would love to have heard Patsy Cline do this one.
Classic tune by Johnny Cash.. Had never done this one before but someone put it in my head the other day... Fun one for sure.
This would have have been our 20th anniversary..... never gone from my heart mister. Recorded this one remotely with my brother Denis. He send me the base guitar picking track.. I added the main vocal. I tried to layer a piano part but just didn't like how it sounded, so I added a guitar or two. I later added additional vocals (and the crickets). When I'm home during summer and record in the living room, I love the way the crickets sound, so I recorded them. Some of the backing vocals I added by singing into a rolled up magazine to get this sort of organ sound.
Always loved this song but never thought of doing... When I decided to do an open D Tuning just to see how it felt, I never thought I'd enjoy it this much... while my hand is recovering maybe I'll keep it there for a while, but I even had trouble with this one on the barr chords so I guess it doesn't matter. Anyway, hope you liked it...
Thought I'd give this one a try.. I've always like Joni Mitchell's recording of this from her album Clouds.. I particularly like a live version she did with Cass Elliott and Mary Travers watching. I also quite like Judy Collins version of this.. I sort of combined the tempo of Judy's with the rhythm of Joni's. It's my first time playing in Open D tuning which was quite different.. I'm capo-ed on 7th fret (A).
This is a Harrison song I keep coming across.. At first I didn't quite like it, but it's grown on me now and I think it's quite good. Denis and I have been working on this one.. From Wikipedia: Music critics note the influence of light jazz and soul in the composition, similar to the work of songwriter Burt Bacharach, and Harrison himself considered "Learning How to Love You" to be the best song he had written since his much-covered Beatles hit "Something".
My entry in the country Tag i'm playing with my brother... I think my Dad used to do this one, but i'm not sure.. I do remember it from growing up.. I really like Freddy Fender's version of this. (my apologies to Spanish speakers hehe)

Can't believe i'd never heard this Elvis song before. I heard it the other day and just to do it. This one's a keeper I think.
Round two in Country Tag that I'm playing with my Brother Denis. Signature tune by Tammy Wynette. I had considered changing the first line to "It Must Be Hard"... But I went for the laugh that I*m sure Denis will get.
This one slipped by me. Heard it last night for the first time and loved it. Was too tired to record harmonies but will get back to that i'm sure.
This is a catchy little tune written for the film The Big Pond. I recently discovered with a cover by Tiny Tim who I think did a smashing job. It's made me do a bit of checking on Tiny Tim and I have to say I'm quite impressed. I used to dismiss him as a novelty act, but now I think he's rather brilliant. He has amazing timing, in the early days, an amazing voice, and great taste in music!
I never knew this tune had lyrics until yesterday. I heard someone do this and just had to give it a try. I used the vocal arrangement from my new friend. Just threw this together, and i'm having a bad hand day.... can barely make a chord so this one really really hurt. I'll come back to this one i'm sure.
Heard this song on the Dick Van Dyke show sung by one of my favorite singers,,, Rose Marie. Thought I'd get an early start on Christmas.
Ok, I'm going soft hehe. Was jamming the other night and we started doing all these seventies tunes.. We had to scrape ourselves off the floor laughing with this one, but I've always kinda liked this tune, and well hell, its Cher, how cool is that.
