The RodPod is back!
Maggie and the two Jons cover issues 13 of Robots in Disguise and More Than Meets the Eye, as well as Spotlight: Megatron, as we continue our coverage of IDW: Phase 2 Transformers comics.
In MTMTE 13, more meta jokes than you can shake a psychic paper at, Ultra Magnus gets drunk, and we learn a secret about Swerve, which would be the most shocking reveal of the episode if it weren't for what's coming.
Spotlight: Megatron adds some context and depth to Megatron and Starscream's releationship, which we, of course, talk about in purely sexual terms.
And RID 13, which has that shocking reveal I mentioned. The last few issues have had some pretty insane last page cliffhangers, but you are not going to see the end of this one coming.
Also, Maggie and Jonathan talk about an incident in baseball history without providing enough context, and we respond as only we can to reader feedback.

Jon M Wilson and Layne Join Jon back on Krynn, to cover chapters 7-9 of Dragons of Autumn Twilight. Listen in, as Jon gripes about and praises different parts of Weis and Hickman's ongoing new Dragonlance series, the trio comes up with ideas for what Jon would call a goth band, were he to be in one, and then be not-perplexed by the mystery this part of the book deals with, and see if you can figure out who the traitor is. (You won't be perplexed)

Jon M Wilson and Layne from Ninjas and Bots podcast and Tim Price from The Outcasters podcast join Maggie and Jon for a talk about Avengers #83, The first appearance of the Rutland Halloween Parade in a preview of the first unofficial Marvel/DC crossover! It's also the first appearance of Valkyrie and the Women's Liberation Movement in comics, so we actually mostly talk about that. MWC stands for Married with Cybertron, as Jon M Wilson joins the Schaefer-Hames on their journey through the IDW Phase 2 Transformers comics. On this episode, we cover issues 12 of RID and MTMTE. The Lost Light Crew battles a group of rogue Decepticons and fights to save the lives of some of their own, while back on Cybertron, Megatron's return is quickly unravelling all of the progress that's been done since the end of the war.

The summer side project continues into the late fall, as Jon, Layne, and Clinton cover the last part of book one of book one. You read that right. Tolkein broke up his books into books, and so does Dragonlance. You gonna tell us that Tolkein was wrong? I don't think so! The heroes face Onyx, the black dragon in a final battle, the gods come back to Krynn, and we thankfully leave the gully dwarves behind, unfortunately not forever. Give it a listen!
The two Jons cover Robots in Disguise #10 with a cover and timey-wimey plot that will amaze you but nowhere near as much as the last page of Robots in Disguise #11 will. Things are about to kick into gear in IDW Phase 2!
The Summer of Dragonlance draws to an end but we have more book to cover! Join Jon, Jon, and Layne as we continue through chapters 17 and 18 of Dragons of Autumm Twilight. Then stick around as Jon interviews Ben Riggs, author of Slaying the Dragon: A Secret History of Dungeons and Dragonsas they discuss Weis and Hickman's time at TSR as well as something called TSR West that you probably haven't heard of.
The Summer of Dragonlance continues as Layne, Jon, and Jon discuss chapters 13-16 of Dragons of Autumn Twilight! With discussions of the logistics of hauling around a giant wicker dragon, unintential dark humor while describing a scene where a character gets bathed in acid, and complex relations between people and gods reduced to the poem "Footprints", there's a lot going on in this one.

Jon and Maggie read through and discuss IDW Transformers More Than Meets the Eye #6: Interiors, where we deal with severe PTSD, depression, and someone accidentally getting shot in the head. MTMTE is the funny on purpose one, remember. In Robots in Disguise #6 Syndromica, Orion Pax, Hardhead, and some lizard guy named Garnak encounter the fruition of Shockwave's ancient plan. And Pax takes on Monstructor because that's how he rolls. With The Touch, Less Than Meets the Eye, and Intrigue!
Maggie Reads Jon an Encyclopedia Brown mystery and he tries to solve it. Can you solve the case of the Balloon Man, a case that has perplexed even the Chief of Police of Idaville before Jon can? (I wouldn't get too worked up. Chief Brown is stalwart and true, but his deductive reasoning skills are dangerously lacking, considering his job).

It's a double dose of Married With Comics as this episode gets you not one, but two entire married couples, a total of four people! We learn that the Baileys had once planned to start a podcast with the same name as ours, but we got there first, so the four of us have no choice but to fight to the death to determine who is truly married with comics. Actually that does not happen at all, and we have a pleasant conversation about Superfriends, a two part story from Batman #36 and #37 by Tom King and Clay Mann. Maggie keeps calling the story, "Double Date" because it's right there on the cover, so Double Date it shall be!
