I was so unsatisfied by other re-tellings and explanations of this legend that I did an intense deep dive into it. I ended up obsessing over Father Gallitzin and did a cradle to grave biography about him and his episode is on this feed as well.
The Mystery of the Wizard Clip is a supernatural event that took place in the 1790’s in Middleway, West Virginia which was investigated by the Catholic church. Was the Wizard Clip a ghost or a demon? Another article read with commentary by me. This article drew my attention because of the large illustration, which was not very common at the time. This article is about a woman who was arrested and charged with murder for being an abortionist that ran a confinement home for women. A young lady died while in her care as the result of an illegal abortion.
As I was researching Hotel Majestic for an episode on the main feed I came across an article that I wanted to share with listeners but would not make sense in the episode, because I thought it was funny.
I also included another article about a male cobra that ate a female cobra whole, but the writer wrote the article as if the mated pair were in a domestic quarrel that ended in violence.
Another minimally edited episode for those who are interested in my pet research project, the city of Anniston and the Victoria Inn/Hotel Finial. This episode never made it on to the Patreon feed as life was so hectic I never had time to compile my recordings how I wanted.

This is a terribly sad event that I tried to handle with all sensitivity. I think we can learn a lot from this which is the only reason I will post this episode. There were so many failures of our healthcare and justice system that could have prevented everything that happened.

On December 7th, 1946 the deadliest hotel fire in United States history broke out within the Winecoff Hotel in Atlanta, GA. The aftermath changed fire codes and laws regarding fire safety forever.
