The goal of the Nestled Podcast is to encourage other women to love their home, love their neighbors, and ultimately love and serve the Lord. Each week you’ll hear from guests from a variety of backgrounds who are using their unique giftings to serve others well.
To live out daily hospitality takes vulnerability. There will be laughter, tears, and sometimes both at once. April and Bayleigh are willing to give you a peek into their nests so that you know you aren’t alone. Please come back- the door will be open.
Today you'll hear from Ashley Newell! Ashley, along with her husband and three children, started Stand For Orphans over four years ago. She and her husband Herbie have a heart for reaching the vulnerable, the outcast, and the orphan. While in college at Samford University majoring in Human Development and Family Studies, Ashley started working at a local pregnancy resource center and thoroughly enjoyed ministering to women in unplanned pregnancies. She retired early to stay home with their first child and soon had two more children. Meanwhile, her husband Herbie was called to be the Executive Director of Lifeline Children’s Services, a holistic orphan care ministry headquartered in Birmingham, AL. Ashley loves supporting her husband and the ministry of Lifeline in any way she can. On any given day, you can find Ashley at home teaching her kids, which is something she never thought she would do but now can’t imagine it any other way.

Welcome to Season 3! We didn't really plan to take a break over the summer, but sometimes life gets in the way of our fun. ;) We are thrilled to be back for Season 3, and excited about the content we have in store for you guys!
Kendall Vanderslice is a writer and baker who studies the intersection of food and theology. She is a graduate of Wheaton College (BA Anthropology), Boston University (MLA Gastronomy), and Duke Divinity School (Master of Theological Studies). Formed through her experiences in a range of denominations, Kendall longs to foster dialogue seeking unity of the Church. She is convinced that Christ offered a meal specifically for its power to unite and to heal. In her first book, We Will Feast: Rethinking Dinner, Worship, and the Community of God, Kendall offers a way forward for those hungry for intimate community, those aching over congregational decline, and those wounded by divisions in the Church. She writes regularly for Christianity Today, Faith & Leadership, and Christ and Pop Culture and lives in Durham, North Carolina with her big-eared beagle named Strudel. Wrapping up our series on comparison with some special guests- our husbands! We asked them the questions you guys sent in. Come back next week as we kick off our Summer series, all about using your home and loving your neighbors!
This week we wrap up the last topic sent in from our listeners regarding comparison. We focus in for a few minutes on comparison and the home. We discussed how to be content where you are with what you have, and how we can love people around us in every season. We also remembered some of the homes that had the greatest impact on us as kids, and what made them unique.
This week we are talking about our disdain for Mommy Wars. What opinions should we care about? What should we let go? How can we be a voice of grace rather than discouragement?
We also touch on the pressure we put on our kids, and how our words are going to help form their inner monologue.
This week we asked our listeners to tell us their struggles in regards to comparison and family. They came through for us, and we are discussing some of them today.
We hope you will feel encouraged that you aren't alone in your struggles, and that you don't have to live in the pit that comparison can often create. We are continuing to pray for freedom for each of you as you search your hearts to find the areas where comparison has taken hold.
This week we are tackling the sticky subject of adult friendships. They can be so hard and messy, but also so meaningful and life giving.

Rebekah Hargraves is a wife, mama of two littles, blogger, podcaster, and author whose passion is to edify, equip, and encourage women in their journey of Biblical womanhood, particularly with an emphasis on the gospel and its implications for everyday life. I’m IKatrina McCain is a former Fashion Model from Charlotte, NC. She is the founder and president of Pearls of Hope Outreach and has a passion to encourage women of all ages to live for Jesus authentically, in spite of the culture that tells them they can’t. She's earned a BA in Literature from UNC-Charlotte and holds an MA in Education. She is the proud wife of her husband, Jarrett, and mother to her sweet girls, Kailyn and Jaelle.
We were able to hear from Katrina about Beyond Being Good- her new book! She shares why this message is for woman on both ends of the spectrum- the ones who have struggled with pride about being "good," and the ones who have struggled with the feeling of never being "good enough."
She also dishes on her past career in the fashion industry as a model, and how that encouraged her to build other women up. You know we love a good cheerleader of her fellow girls, and Katrina is such a sweet example of doing just that!

Maghon Taylor is the she behind All She Wrote Notes, a calligraphy and hand lettering studio based in Elon, North Carolina. Her work has been featured on many blogs and publications and she was recently named Best Calligrapher in the South by Southern Weddings. Annie Persinger is a home schooling mom of 4 who turned her passion into action by opening the Fellowshop. Through the Fellowship, Annie makes and sells baby teethers and teething necklaces for moms. She then donates proceeds to local organizations involved with orphan care.

On today's podcast we talk with Ashely Petrone of Arrows and Bow. Ashley and her family moved from their 5 bedroom house in Southern California into a renovated RV. While they plan to eventually build a home on the land where the RV now sits, they are "finding joy in the in-between."
