Kennedy was assassinated as he rode in a motorcade through Dealey Plaza in downtown Dallas, Texas. By the fall of 1963, President John F. Kennedy and his political advisers were preparing for the next presidential campaign. Although he had not formally announced his candidacy, it was clear that President Kennedy was going to run and he seemed confident about his chances for re-election. At the end of September, the president traveled west, speaking in nine different states in less than a week. The trip was meant to put a spotlight on natural resources and conservation efforts. But JFK also used it to sound out themes—such as education, national security, and world peace—for his run in 1964. Order the "Back from the Future" paperback with expanded material! Steve Franks was creator, writer, and executive producer of the USA Network original series Psych. A southern California native, Franks earned a BA in English from the University of California, Irvine in 1991 while also doing stand-up comedy and fronting the popular Orange County band, Friendly Indians. While a graduate student in the film department of Loyola Marymount University, Franks career was launched when his first screenplay, "Big Daddy" was purchased by Columbia Pictures as a vehicle for Adam Sandler, and went on to gross more than 160 million dollars domestically. On the heels of this success, Franks went on to create and work on more than a dozen other feature film projects, including the action/comedy "Skiptracer" for producer Neal Moritz and Sony Pictures, and the feature version of "I Dream of Jeannie." On the television side, Franks has been involved in numerous projects for ABC, CBS, and NBC networks. A fan for many years of classic, light detective shows like "Moonlighting" and "Magnum P.I.," Franks created a character this year who shares a similar tone - a psychic detective who has no psychic abilities. In 1985 film director Robert Zemeckis introduced the world to a time machine built out of a DeLorean sports car in the film Back to the Future. While Back to the Future was a blockbuster success, the film itself almost never got made. It is hard to think of a world without Doc Brown and Marty McFly having adventures through time but that is the world we almost lived in. Back to the Future is a testament to the creative collaborative process. Each failure, false start, and change all aligned for the film's eventual success. One of the most popular icons to come out of the Back to the Future film series was the time machine itself. Where did this time machine come from? How does one go about creating a fictional time machine that film audiences would believe could actually travel though time? The creation of the time machine starts with the filmmakers themselves. This is the story about how director Zemeckis was able to bring to life a time machine “with some style!” With numerous interviews and research this book details the creation of all the time machines used in the film series and beyond including the 2020 musical. Learn about how the time machine started out as a time chamber, and how a marketing executive wanted Doc Brown to drive a Ford Mustang. Explore how ILM created a flying DeLorean and how in the third movie they put a DeLorean on railroad tracks. Even the time traveling "Jules Verne" train's creation is explored. Find out what happened to these time machines after filming, some were left to the elements and were nearly "erased from existence."Full interviews with: Ron Cobb, Andrew Probert, , Kevin Pike, Gene Winfield, Michael Lantieri, John Bell, Tim Flattery, Lawrence G. Paull, Michael Fink.Numerous never before published photos of the original time machines, with lots of behind-the-scenes from the famed ...The Ride. This edition is the black and white photo edition. Back to the Future and the film itself and all the concepts are the copyright of Universal Studios/Amblin.. The book, author and this page has no affiliation or endorsement with Universal Studios/Amblin. This book is for scholarly research of the creation of the film series.

George Lazenby is an Australian actor and former model. He was the second actor to portray fictional British secret agent James Bond in the Eon Productions film series, playing the character in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969). Having appeared in only one film, Lazenby's tenure as Bond was the shortest among the actors in the series.
Beginning his professional career as a model, Lazenby had only acted in commercials when he was cast to replace original Bond actor Sean Connery. He declined to return in subsequent Bond films and instead pursued roles in films throughout the 1970s that included Universal Soldier (1971), Who Saw Her Die? (1972), The Shrine of Ultimate Bliss (1974), The Man from Hong Kong (1975) and The Kentucky Fried Movie (1977). After his career stalled during this period, he moved into business and invested in real estate.
Lazenby later appeared in roles that parodied the James Bond character. In 2017, a Hulu docudrama film, Becoming Bond, featured Lazenby recounting his life story and portrayal as Bond.

Tolkan is known for his role in the 1985 film Back to the Future as the strict Hill Valley High School assistant principal, Gerald Strickland; the character refers to Marty McFly, his father, and Biff Tannen derisively as "slackers". He reprised the role in the 1989 sequel Back to the Future Part II, in which unnamed gang members make a drive-by assault on him in a dystopian 1985; he also refers to these criminals as "slackers" as he shoots back. In 1990, he played the part of Mr. Strickland's grandfather Chief Marshal James Strickland in Back to the Future Part III. Tolkan would again reprise his role as Strickland in addition to playing his character's ancestors and descendants in the 1991 animated series spin-off.
Other well-known roles include an FBI agent in WarGames and Stinger, the no-nonsense commanding officer of USS Enterprise's embarked carrier air wing in the 1986 box-office hit Top Gun. He portrayed the role of cold and determined District Attorney Polito in Sidney Lumet's Prince of the City. He also appeared in the 1987 film Masters of the Universe as Detective Lubic. He had a dual role in the Woody Allen comedy Love and Death, playing both Napoleon and a look-alike.[4] He also appeared as Big Boy Caprice's accountant "Numbers" in the 1990 Warren Beatty film Dick Tracy. He appeared in Serpico (1973) in a small but notable role as a cop who loudly accuses Officer Serpico of having a gay encounter with another cop in the men's room.
Tolkan has also made guest appearances on many TV shows, including Naked City, Remington Steele, Miami Vice and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.[5] A member of the repertory cast of A Nero Wolfe Mystery (2001–02), he played more than a dozen varied roles in the A&E TV series and also directed two episodes[4] ("Die Like a Dog" and "The Next Witness").

"The Back to the Future Trilogy
Of all the pop culture influences in my life, Back to the Future has had the most profound impact on me. When I heard about Brad Gilmore’s book ‘Back from the Future’, I leapt at the opportunity to discuss my favorite movie of all time. We talked about the long road to get this movie made, how Family Ties almost destroyed the franchise, and the interesting casting decisions including Eric Stoltz as the original Marty McFly, and Eddie Murphy as Doc Brown. We also talk about some of the more obscure elements, including the movie novelizations, the importance of Chocolate Milk, and the college level class I took on Robert Zemeckis. "

She is the youngest of five children. Her parents are Barbara Anne (Barry) and Clifford Elwin "Cliff" Thompson. Since all her siblings were much older than she, Lea says it seemed like she had more than two parents. The family lived in the Starlight Motel, all the kids sharing a room. Things began to look up for the family when Lea's father got a job in Minneapolis, where the family moved. Lea's parents divorced when she was six, and her mother decided to maintain the family. This wasn't the easiest job, considering her mother was alcohol-addicted at the time. When she found the strength to quit drinking, she took a job playing the piano and singing in a bar to support Lea and her siblings. When Lea was seven, her mother remarried. Ever since Lea was little, she loved to dance -- ballet to be exact. She would practice three to four hours every day. Her first role was as a mouse in "The Nutcracker". After Lea turned fourteen, she had performed in more than 45 ballets on stages, such as The Minnesota Dance Theatre, The Pennsylvania Ballet Company, and The Ballet Repertory. She won scholarships to The American Ballet Theatre and The San Francisco Ballet. At age nineteen, she auditioned for Mikhail Baryshnikov, who later told her that she was "a beautiful dancer... but too stocky". Lea knew her dreams had been crushed. At that point, she decided to turn to acting. She began working as a waitress, also making 22 Burger King commercials and a few Twix commercials. She was perfect for these parts simply because she was the average girl-down-the-street, from the Midwest. Everyone who knows her can't believe she was and still is so completely different...trying to be independent and fight against the system. In 1982, Lea made some type of a computer game or interactive movie known as "Murder, Anyone". Her first role was in the movie, Jaws 3-D (1983), as a water ski bunny, although she couldn't swim or ski, which she still can't! There, she met Dennis Quaid, who became her fiancée and acting coach. Her next role was in All the Right Moves (1983), where she acted opposite Tom Cruise. Director Michael Chapman was so disappointed with her performance, that he almost fired her. Between 1983 and 1984, Lea appeared in other "teen" movies, such as Red Dawn (1984), The Wild Life (1984), and Going Undercover (aka Going Undercover (1985)), and believes it was lucky that, in these movies, they were able to use anyone who could walk and talk! Lea's biggest known accomplishment, and her big break, came from the first Back to the Future (1985). It was the biggest hit of 1985, and Lea was suddenly the most wanted actress. She could have her pick of any role she wanted to take on. She chose Howard the Duck (1986). Although it was a George Lucas production, the critics turned the movie, and Lea, down. Afterwards, director Howard Deutch offered Lea a part in his movie, Some Kind of Wonderful (1987), but she refused. After he urged her to do it, she reconsidered.
