Love is such a difficult subject, and honestly no interprtitiaion will actually do it justice. But you won't meet anybody who believe's in it more than I do. As long as I could remember it's been my favorite 3 words. "I Love you" Every movie that had a love story I probably watched it and have the soundtrack. So that made me ask the question does God care about my love life? Or does he like seeing me suffer and wants to be alone. So I opened up the book of Genesis and saw 3 of the patriarchs Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob go through similar struggles and discovered love in their own extraordinary way. . Abraham experienced the love of a father, Isaac waited patiently for the right wife, and Jacob sacrificially gave all he had for love. . .
"Justin are you there" Honestly, I should of should of just hung up the phone. In my early 20's I would literally stress myself out over adulthood. I have to pay this and I had to do this and the list just kept going. Maybe you can relate and you feel overwhelmed right now. Like you have so much to do or you want to accomplish so much, but where is the time. The mental battle sometimes is the hardest thing to overcome. So how do we do just that. . .
It was the biggest rivalry on this side of the Mississippi River and I went to get tickets. That's actually where I went to high school. It was crazy, because just a couple of years before that I got kicked out. I wouldn't dare to even step in, because how much shame I felt. But by now I did graduate and I was already a couple of years into bible college. Of all people I didn't want to run into and actually the first person I did was the Assistant Principle. Believe it or not I wanted to remain humble, but when she came up to me I told her. 'I am amounting to something and I did graduate and I am in college. Wild as it may seem she actually sent me a gift for my wedding. But I began with obedience, When God calls us to do something. We can't just toss it on the shelf and think maybe one day. God is calling us to action and in the same fashion way he called NOAH. . .
Hey Bulber's I hope you all have an amazing New Years 2022!
I had a fashion emergency! It was literally days before I was going to fly to San Fransisco to watch a football game. I needed a haircut. My regular guy wasn't available to and so I did what any guy would've done, I cheated on my barber.(Not My Best Moment) And it kinda worked out actually, because the person who ended up doing it. Was actually someone I knew back from High School. So we got to chatting and catching up, I was later amazed to find out that he didn't know I didn't grow up in church. He said when I was high school, I looked like someone who had it all together. I quietly laughed to myself and left. It made me greatful and me think maybe someone feels unqualified because they didn't grow up in church. It reminded me of Nehemiah ..
Merry Christmas Bulbers! It's the greatest time of the year again. Santa is coming to town and Jesus is reentering the manger again. But not literally, we traditionally depict December 25th as the day Jesus was born. It's an amazing reminder that the savior of the world entered earth and was born the son of man. We all heard this verse before or either at a wrestling event holding the sign 3:16 or some way or another we heard the most famous verse of all. John 3:16 " For God so loved the World, that he Gave. . ." and what he gave was the light of the world. . .
There is something about Tuesday's that just puts us in game mode. . . I mean if your not a gamer, it's the moment in your in the zone. Because By Tuesday most of us have already caught up with your normal routine for the week. By now I think the Sunday juice we received from church is about to wear off. I like to dig deep in breaking that habit. I like to break the cycle and somehow still say everything is ok. . .
Hey Bulber's! (I lost those of you who we're watching on our Facebook page. Don't worry anytime there's a set back there's a greater comeback on the horizon.) We will be back live again next Tuesday so make sure to tune in.) I ended up restarting the entire episode and I feel like it came out better that way. Because we live in a society who is constantly battling with each other. I'm so sad to say even the church is having this problem. I'm frustrated with the fact we christians are staying so passive and quiet about what God's word says about matters and are trying to form our own opinion. God's word is truth and it's definite. There is no sugar coating or coasting a christian. We're called to stand up and take a stand. . .
Season 2 is now under way. . . so excited for you guys to tune in once again. Trust me when I tell you being the outcast isn't that cool. Especially the part your practically alone. David can certainly relate, because It really does stink getting your spirit crushed. There are some real bullies that life hits us with like losing a loved one or a job or getting your heart broken, but the Lord watches over the little dog . .
Hey Bulbers,
You asked for it so you got it!! Season 2 of The Bulb with Justin. A new audio recording ‘What is ordinary’ It's about a quote Justin recently discovered. “Why be Ordinary, when you can be EXTRAORDINARY.” Justin will do some unraveling through scripture about some unexpected miracles in unexpected ways. By helping us discover our way of being super natural beings empowered by the Holy Spirit!
We truly have been experiencing a lot of SELF DOUBT I feel nowadays. . . Either it's in our own natural ABILITIES or own LIMITATIONS we put on ourselves.. Like in THE WAY we PROVIDE for our FAMILIES or even those as LEADERS TRYING to hold the fort down. OR STUDENTS trying to keep there GPA UP. We're all just TRYING to maintain a good countenance. I know DEEP DOWN I personally feel a bit INADEQUATE and INSECURE sometimes. I don't know about YOU, but I really DO question if I have ENOUGH in me to get THROUGH sometimes. But the the TRUTH IS...... this BATTLE we're facing WITHIN, isn't OUR OWN. This BATTLE is actually HIS. . . and there's GOOD NEWS it's already been WON! Because No matter what AMOUNT of PRESSURE we feel were UNDER, JESUS is OVER!!!!
Jesus gives us hope and if we find him and have him And let him have his way everything changes. What seems now like insignificant like writing Or mopping a floor gains progress. And Its not the final chapter in our story it’s only the beginning. . . Because we are acting and partaking in the greater commission as the hands and feet of the body Christ. . . Is it only a coincidence that I'm here right now, no it’s on purpose. . .
How many times have we heard the analogy of a foundation of a house, in contrast of our faith in Christ Jesus. I honestly believe it's uniqueness actually lyes between someones faith to endure trouble in a storm. This principle is based on completely on our preparation to heed problematic storms that randomly probe our souls. It is fundamental, but necessary in our faith long journey to understand that we will face many troubles and trials in this life. Our faith will be tested, we will have to learn to push past our emotions and lean completely on our Faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. It then will determine where we proceed in our relationship with Christ.. Building a firm foundation will determine how we come out of a storm . . .
If you have a problem with lying or cussing or anything. That just makes you feel like a loser after doing it. You're not alone, sometimes my anger gets the best of me. Until recently, I had refused to find any reason it could get better. Yet in Luke 19 It was Jesus who noticed Zacchaeus climbing a tree in his desperate attempt to just see him. But maybe for Zacchaeus he just had enough of his bad reputation. For being known as a tax collector who cheated people off their taxes. Maybe just maybe if he just saw Jesus everything would be better. But in reality it was so much more and Jesus took notice of him and even called him by name and said I'm coming over for dinner tonight. And yeah, Sure there's So much to be thankful for, and things to be bitter about, but there is certainly things with Jesus that can get better. .
From the outside looking in it seemed there was little to no hope. In a massacre even as extensive as this one, you really wouldn't expect much grace or sympathy. For some odd reason though these selfless men and woman of God didn't get that memo. They actually stand on a podium telling the church shooter, they forgive him and still gave him an open invitation to be apart of there church service. It stuns all skeptic or critic expectation given of the church. It was a very powerful testimony of God's grace and mercy on display. It humbled me to point where i had to do some serious soul searching of my own. . .
"God is good, all the time and all the time God is good." If you've been a part of a church for a while now you probably heard that old phrase a few times. I grew up in a church that for a while I was the only teenager attending. I'm honestly thankful that was the case, because I was able to surround myself at young age with a bunch of older and wiser man and woman of faith. They taught me so much, they showed me the goodness of God and encouraged me to embrace the Lord's mercy thats new each morning.. One thing they taught me, that stuck with me through all these years. . The most important part or what marked me the most was to enjoy life, because God is Good. . .
Jesus sat and ate with sinners. He said it wasn't the healthy who needed a physician, but the sick do. Paul called himself the chief of sinners. Yet God used him to preach to the gentiles. The Lord used normal everyday people to deliver his good news and he still does. I know what it feels like to feel hopeless. To feel like your inadequate and unqualified or justified to even consider your self a friend to the Son of God. But yet he does and so much more. . . .
Another spontaneous episode. . . .If you've been around the CHURCH scenery long enough. You've probably heard someone STATE that they have a calling in their life. A calling from whom you may ask, the president? No actually the LORD puts something unique inside everybody, that can be used for his glory on EARTH. . To be honest it's quite frequent when the LORD CALLS someone to full time ministry or to be a teacher or a preacher or an AMAZING athlete. Each one of us strive and fight for what the world calls their DESTINY. . Unfortunately not many people go off and full-fill there full POTENTIAL. They either give up and throwing in the towel, or end up just SWAYING in whole different direction in life. . It's important to discuss THE CALL . . .
Is it enough to just believe in God? When I was kid time and time again I was asked do you believe in God? Honestly each time without hesitation I said yes of course I believe in God. . . Maybe you have ran into this question more than once as well. David was able to humble himself even after a major win against a giant. It wasn't enough to just believe God once for all, but actually trust God with everything. Jesus said "Trust in God, trust also in me" Everybody can believe in God, but there's a more powerful perspective in trusting in God. .
In first of its kind, a spontaneous episode. God Shook me, which felt like lightning just struck my body. . . It's time to repent of our sins for kingdom of God is here and receive Jesus into our lives. Let his blood cleanse of us of all are sins. . It's time for the church to arise like never before. I'm praying for revival for another great awakening. . .
There is a 15 Minute quiet pause at the end of this episode. So use that as opportunity to pray together.
In a world dealing with a lot of FEAR and UNCERTAINTY these days. I Can’t think of a better time to share HOPE. DAVID encountered a LION, BEAR and even a GIANT. Sure what he faced were literal, but there are MANY giants that the enemy uses to entangle us with to. But there is ONE that has a STRONGHOLD like no other especially with all the craziness thats SURROUNDING our WORLD today. Its SINKING in the DEPTHS of our souls, It keeps us up at NIGHT and what is that you ask it’s FEAR. . . WHAT IS FEAR? It is FALSE evidence appearing REAL. We have asked ourselves TIME and TIME again. Can we OVERCOME this DOUBT? This FEAR that COVERS our THINKING and causing anxious THOUGHTS, I believe there is way and he gots a name and it’s JESUS. So we don’t have to WORRY about anything instead PRAY about EVERYTHING. . .
So many of us have dreams, BIG DREAMS. God called us to CONQUER this mountain and so many times the hike is too much. We drop our bags and try to climb the mountain but, we end up starving and dying. Just like a lot of our DREAMS do and maybe all that we left behind could have been useful. There is a process we all go through to get to the finish line. Just like David God anointed at a young age but, it wasn’t until later in his life when he began to LEAD as KING. There is a future and plan that God Predestined for each ONE of US, but if we don’t start allowing his process to develop us we can miss out on our opportunity. Can WE find somebody to answer the CALL and willing to FOLLOW THROUGH. . .
So many of us have asked the old age question what is my reason? In any point in someone’s life we ask our selves why do I do things in such a way. In episode 1 of the new series of perseverance Justin the encourager helps us uncover a reason we should live to the fullest! Picking golden nuggets from the life of King David, we see a man that may not have had a lot of stature of a king from the outward appearance but it was a man after Gods own heart. That gave him his reason. .
Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year from Justin and bulb team! Part four of the series of drowning, Justin concludes the teaching picked from the Apostle Peter's life based out of the gospels. "Thank you" Helps us end the year on a positive note. Each year we experience highs and lows, but in between we have so much to be thankful for. . .
I know how it feels to be rejected and denied. Honestly nothings worse than, trying to be accepted by some sort of crowd. It really makes us insecure when for some reason the cool kids don't want hang out with us. But because we either were dismissed or abandoned by our parents or someone really close. We develop this mental image of God that he would totally do the same. Especially after all he see's and know's everything about us. But what if we got it backwards, because I'm messed up. God actually love's me and wants not to leave me drowning, but rather save me from the mess that's me. And that brings us to part 3 of the Series of Drowning. I Refuse to Be Denied. . .
We've all said it or even just felt like giving up before. Either it was some sort of job, a relationship, or dream. The pressure to succeed sometimes just gets unbearable and mentally and physically exhausting. To be honest it is sometimes a lot easier to just throw in the towel. Due to just how much anxiety and stress that very thing can create. But however there our times we don't have the luxury to just quit and call it a day. Rather we just fail and fall right on our face. Trust me when I say this, I know the feeling, I have failed many many times. Just like Peter we are all guilty sometimes looking at the big waves or how strong the wind is and we begin to sink. In this episode I go deep on some of my own failures and hopefully after hearing my own, you'll be encouraged to know that your set back can still be used for your greatest comeback. . .
Have you ever wanted to be DIFFERENT or CHANGE something about your self. Or maybe there's something about you that you just don't like. Maybe you ask yourself if I was DIFFERENT. There's a possibility you feel like your DROWNING and it's because life can do that sometimes. We live in a SOCIETY thats constantly revolving and so many times we easily DROWN in a pool of sorrows. Because OVER and OVER again FEAR and INSECURITY come KNOCKING on the door reminding us what we aren't. Well I know exactly how that feels and i can’t help but say it happens to ME TO! And honestly I don't want to that anymore. I WANT TO BE DIFFERENT. I know it's been about a MONTH since a new episode has been posted. And HONESTLY I'm taking a NEW take on some DEVOTIONS. On this EPISODE I bring up some very PERSONAL things i am currently FACING. Thats causing a lot PAIN and DOUBT. BUT I BELIEVE GOD can HELP and He could DEFINITELY help you to. . .
In this last installment in the series of prayer. Justin CLEANS up in this deep devotion and points out that if we DARE to believe, we will receive whatever we ask for in prayer. Corresponding that FAITH as big as a mustard seed still moves mountains. Just like when Jesus raised Lazarus from the grave. God can still do the MIRACULOUS in our own lives. Considering that we DARE to believe him for the impossible. . .
On this week of the Bulb with Justin part five of the series of prayer. . . The spotlight is on three individuals sharing some of their testimonies. . . Broadcasting God's faithfulness in their lives. Two of which is Justin's closest friends and one of his Aunt's. . . Vaguely many times we brume out God's hand in our lives. So this time were giving the light back and shining the light on what he's doing today. . .
With The fourth installment of prayer, Justin brings to light that ever so often in our souls we're in desperate need for a breakthrough. ....."We have to pray are way through it order to get through it." .....That sometimes with God it takes that place of desperation in order to reveal his will and purpose. . .
In part 3 of the series of prayer, Justin unplugs this unfathomably deep devotion by doing his finest depiction of answering the question why we should pray the Lord's Prayer? Offering us a blueprint to follow. . .
In this deep discussion, part two of the series of prayer. Justin makes known the truth that when we create space for God, it makes room for him to move. Jesus our preeminent example often withdrew from his disciples to pray. Remarkably with fixed purpose we discover the depth of his glory by preparation. . .
In this new series of deep discussions, Justin will address the importance of prayer. Beginning part 1 of the series with a inquisition "Why pray to an all knowing God". God has christen humanity to relationship with him in order to reveal the mystery of his glory. . .
This episode of The Bulb with Justin, Justin shines light on his wife Shameka. . . Shameka and Justin grab a seat and ingest some ice cream. Where they sit and have a deep discussion about the impact of her being an educator. How sometimes her part may get tuned down by outsiders, but because of the deep desire of her heart and God's faithfulness she succeeds. . .
In this deep discussion, Justin opens up about his encounter with the light. We have all perceived the expression that before we die, 'go to the light'. Justin exhibits the importance of our experiences with the light. . . That they are not just a quondam of events or commodities we just stock and put on a shelf, rather it's our tale that withstands the test of time. . .
In this deep devotion with Justin, he opens up about a recent conversation he had on light. Through the eyes of an artist. How she coveys that light gleams, sparkles, flares, and dazzles. But that no light is the same light, but light is always there. . .
In this deep discussion with Justin, he reveals his frustration with the construct doubt. By conveying to us that doubt has been fabricated to make us believe "nothing will get better from here." How we have to cover our distinctive doubts and permit them to come to light, and there we will find peace. Distinguishing the Apostle Thomas who was known for being the disciple who doubted. . .
In this deep talk with Justin, he brings to attention the resurrection of Jesus as the pinnacle of our Christian faith. How the resurrection of Jesus changed the landscape of the entire universe. How our story plays a substantial part and is effected by this phenomenon. That the fact that Jesus is risen our narrative in this story also changes to a resurrection story. That can change everything, our story is light. . . Also how our discouragements aren't let downs, but can be used as platforms to bring about a light, even that seems not maybe not existent.
'Many have fallen and have never gotten back up from there own failure. Failure may have trampled every last hope in somebody." In this deep devotion of the Crucifixion, Justin share's his heart and his own perspective of the tradition "Good Friday." By expressing just how much of an impact and strong effect this had on his life. By sharing some of his own failures and downfalls, and how this one event changed the whole trajectory of his life. In light of failure's and fear there is redemption. . .
In today's world with billions of distractions. It's easy to lose a sight of direction. When you know your full of purpose and full of potential to make an impact on a broken and hurting world. You ask your self "what can I do"? Justin the host of The Bulb walks us through a simple fundamental truth of being a light. How maintaining your light in a dark crowded world can change a life and in the process change yours.
