James 1:12 This message originally delivered on February 21, 1999 PM. In this message, Kimber refers to the following quote from J.A. Motyer, from "The Message of James". "Those who are prepared to use this life as an arena of endurance for Jesus' sake will find that an abundant life awaits them from the hand of God. In this world, the onlooker might see them as sacrificing life, as having a wretched time, as missing out on real life. They might be asked why they bother, why they do not opt-out and enjoy themselves a bit, and so on. But they have chosen to endure for Christ and to live with their eyes on the life which he will give, crowning them with dignity, victory, happiness, and a reward in heaven. But what attracts the reward is not their endurance, but the love for God which prompted it.

James 1:2-4. This message originally delivered on February 14, 1999. The old testament reference to Habakkuk was from Habakkuk 3:17-19. At 13:25 minutes, Kimber quotes John Blanchard, Truth for Life: a Devotional Commentary on the Epistle of James - "Trials are sent by God in order to make a person stand; temptations are sent by Satan to make a person fall. In testing you, God is aiming at your development; in tempting you, Satan is aiming at your disgrace".
