On this episode of 1050 Bascom, we were delighted to talk with Corey Robin, Distinguished Professor of Political Science at Brooklyn College and the CUNY Graduate Center. Prof. Robin is also a frequent contributor to The New Yorker, The New York Review of Books, and other publications. Prof. Robin was on campus in April as part of the University’s Phi Beta Kappa Society’s Visiting Scholar Program. He presented a talk entitled, “Clarence Thomas’s Radical Race Politics and the Future of the Supreme Court.” We asked Prof. Robin about his research into the intellectual life of Clarence Thomas, the longest serving justice on the Supreme Court. On this episode of 1050 Bascom, we were honored and delighted to interview Amed Khan. Amed is the President of the Amed Khan Foundation and a UW–Madison alum who majored in International Relations and Political Science. His career defies any standard résumé: from working in the West Wing as a special assistant at the Peace Corps, to running rescue missions in Kabul, coordinating evacuations in Syria and Ukraine, and founding a refugee housing initiative in Greece. Amed has shown what it means to step up when the world falls apart and to do so without waiting for permission. In this conversation, we talked about what inspired him to take this path, what it really looks like to do humanitarian work in conflict zones, and how his time at UW-Madison helped shape a worldview that still guides him today. On this episode of 1050 Bascom, we were excited to talk with Lieutenant Colonel Scott Gross, Commander of the Air Force ROTC at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Lt. Col. Gross brings nearly two decades of distinguished service in the United States Air Force, with experience spanning leadership, intelligence, foreign area expertise, and program management. His career has taken him across the world as he did strategic and operational planning in Jordan for Special Operations and Intel operations in Iraq. He also led program management work in Boston and Ohio. As the leader of the Air Force ROTC here at UW-Madison, Lt. Col. Gross plays a critical role in shaping the next generation of military and civic leaders. In this interview, we talked with him about his experiences in the Air Force, the lessons he’s learned about leadership and service, and why he believes it’s essential for students, regardless of their career aspirations, to think about ways they can contribute to public service.
On this episode of 1050 Bascom, we were honored to welcome Ambassador John E. Lange, a distinguished diplomat, global health leader, and proud alumni of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Over his 28-year career in the U.S. Foreign Service, Ambassador Lange served in pivotal roles, including U.S. Ambassador to Botswana, Special Representative on Avian and Pandemic Influenza, and Deputy U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator at the launch of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief.His career has taken him from high-level diplomatic negotiations to frontline crisis leadership. After retiring from the Foreign Service in 2009, Ambassador Lange continued his commitment to global health at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the United Nations Foundation, where he has worked to advance global health diplomacy, pandemic preparedness, and disease eradication initiatives.In this episode, Ambassador Lange shared insights from his diplomatic career, his work in global health, and the importance of public service in addressing global challenges. Josh graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 2018 and earned a Master’s degree from the Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy in 2021. Josh has built an impressive career in legislative affairs, progressing from campaign management and political internships to senior-level policy advising in the U.S. House of Representatives. Josh has gained expertise in drafting legislation and has a broad policy portfolio, focusing on energy, commerce, infrastructure, and telecommunications. In this episode of 1050 Bascom, we were thrilled to interview Tom Beaumont, Senior National Political Correspondent for the Washington desk of The Associated Press. Tom earned a BA in Political Science from UW-Madison in 1989 as well as a MA from the J-School in 1993. In his career, Tom has covered six presidential campaigns, including the past four as a national correspondent for the AP. We had a wide ranging and fun conversation with Tom about his career path as well as his experiences and insights covering the last several presidential elections.

Prof. Henn’s research lies at the intersection of comparative politics, political economy and development economics. He studies the politics of development with a focus on fragile state settings, informal institutions, and conflict in Sub-Saharan Africa, particularly the Great Lakes region, and Latin America. BridgeMadison is a newly formed campus chapter dedicated to bridging political divides. On this episode of 1050 Bascom, we were pleased to welcome back Erin Barbato, Director of the Immigrant Justice Clinic at the University of Wisconsin Law School to talk about what many political observers have described as a crisis at the border. In an interview recorded one week prior to the 2024 presidential election, we asked Prof. Barbato about why the immigration issue was front and center for both the Trump and Harris campaigns. He is also a non-resident expert at the Center for Korean Legal Studies at Columbia University. In this episode of 1050 Bascom, we were excited to welcome Professor David Parker, a lecturer in the Department of Political Science at UW-Madison to talk about contemporary British Politics. He received his doctorate here in 2004, and this is his first year back after teaching political science at Montana State University for sixteen years, including five years as Department Head. We asked Prof. Parker about the Labour Party’s landslide victory in the elections this past summer, and how the Conservative Party is responding. We also discussed political polarization in Britain compared to that in the United States as well as how Brexit and devolution has impacted British politics. On this episode of 1050 Bascom, we were delighted to welcome Kai Prins who is a candidate studying Rhetoric, Politics, and Culture in the Department of Communication Arts and is minoring in Women’s and Gender Studies here at UW-Madison. Kai studies the influence of neoliberalism on the formation and performance of social identity across a range of case studies in digital and consumer culture, including the advertising and branding of social justice issues; the convergence of wellness, social media, and conspiracy; and the commoditization of drag performance. In this fun and engaging episode we asked Kai about their work on commodity activism, in particular a chapter of their dissertation they wrote called “Friends Don’t Let Friends Shave with Woke Razors”: Commodity Activism and Economic Speech in the Age of Conservative Backlash.” We thoroughly enjoyed our conversation and hope you will too.

In this episode of 1050 Bascom, we were delighted to talk with Paul Aylesworth, Associate Director for the MS degree in Real Estate at the Wisconsin School of Business. Before coming to campus Paul served as the Real Estate Director for the Women’s Community Revitalization Project, a nonprofit Philadelphia-based community development corporation. In his fourteen years in Philadelphia, Paul’s work focused on the new construction and preservation of affordable housing utilizing Low-Income Housing Tax Credit equity and many other sources of capital and operating subsidy. He was also instrumental in establishing and building the Community Justice Land Trust, which now holds over 100 permanently affordable homes. We know so many of our listeners are interested in the issue of affordable housing and it is a concern that impacts so many people of all ages here in Madison and around the country. In this episode of 1050 Bascom, we were excited to interview Marko Kljajic. Marko is a PhD student studying comparative politics and international relations here at UW-Madison. His research and teaching interests focus on the political psychology of polarization and reconciliation in the aftermath of civil conflict. In particular, he is interested in the role that collective victimhood beliefs have on intergroup dynamics and political mobilization. Marko will be teaching a new seminar course this coming fall called, “Why We Fight: The Politics of Intergroup Conflict”. Katie graduated from the UW-Madison School of Journalism with a Political Science major as well in 2003. After graduating, Katie’s impressive career trajectory took her to high level politics and to Facebook where she served as the Public Policy Director for ten years. Katie is now Chief Global Affairs Office at Duco Experts and the founder and CEO of her own DC-based company, Anchor Change. With major concerns about whether Americans trust the electoral process amidst a historical presidential campaign season and controversy over proposals aimed at regulating big tech, we were grateful that Katie was willing to spend a little time with us to talk about big tech, AI, and the future of democracy in the United States. On this episode of 1050 Bascom, we were delighted to talk to Jim Gingras, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Political Science. A retired Air Force lieutenant colonel and military diplomat, Jim is particularly interested in Civil-Military Relations and methods that may improve U.S. and international security policy. In his time in the Air Force, Jim commanded a squadron and installation in Turkey as well as the U.S. assistant air attaché at the U.S. Embassy in London. He also led combat missions in Afghanistan and Iraq. Jim was also an instructor at both the French Air Force and the U.S. Air Force Academies prior to coming to UW-Madison.

On this episode of 1050 Bascom, we were excited to talk to Josh Brown about social identity theory and political polarization. Josh is social psychologist and Postdoctoral Research Associate in the School of Human Ecology. He is interested in understanding groups processes and intergroup relations in applied settings like politics. In particular, he studies what motivates people to identify with groups, self-uncertainty, and identification’s effects on behavior, cognition, performance, and health and politics. Josh is the co-author of a fascinating article, “Extreme party animals: Effects of political identification and ideological extremity.” We wanted to talk to Josh about the psychological mechanisms at play that might help us understand why our political environment has become so polarized - and we asked him if there are any remedies social psychology might offer us. In this episode of 1050 Bascom, we wanted to bring back Jon Pevehouse, Professor and Chair of the Political Science department, to talk about the war that has erupted in the Middle East. An unprecedented surprise attack in southern Israel by Hamas, the Palestinian Islamist militant group that controls the Gaza Strip, has led to an increasingly deadly conflict with no resolution in sight. Hamas launched its coordinated attack on southern Israel on October 7, firing rockets, invading Israeli towns and army bases, killing at least 1,400 people, many of them civilians, and taking Israelis hostage. Israel has retaliated with airstrikes in Gaza that have also killed thousands of people, including civilians. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared war on Hamas and united the Israel government that is gearing up for a potential ground invasion. We appreciated Prof. Pevehouse helping us understand the history and politics of the situation.

The book, published in early 2022, investigates the impact of politicians’ reliance on shared foreign languages and translation services on EU politics and argues that multilingualism depoliticizes policymaking by reducing its political nature and potential for conflict. We asked Prof. Ringe about the research that informs his book as well as the geopolitical space that the EU occupies in contemporary global politics generally. In this episode of 1050 Bascom, we are excited to one again interview Don Stanley, an award-winning instructor who teaches design, social media, and digital marketing courses for the UW-Madison Department of Life Sciences Communication. Don also owns a digital consultancy firm, 3Rhino Media, that provides design and digital marketing services to clients throughout the United States. With Facebook (now Meta!) facing questions from both sides of the political spectrum -- we wanted to get Prof. Stanley’s take on the revelations unleashed by former FB product manager Frances Haugen. Internal company documents suggest that high level FB executives like Mark Zuckerberg were not only aware of evidence showing that its platforms sowed the seeds of divisive politics, but their own internal studies also indicated that Instagram can contribute to mental health issues, particularly among teenage girls. We also talked more broadly about the role that social media plays in our current information environment and the implications for the future of democracy. In this role, Nathan works to develop campus and community partnerships and collaborate with campus leadership on sustainability strategy. Nathan earned his B.A. in English from Middlebury College in 2005. After working as a carpenter, a public relations professional, and an internet service migration specialist, he returned to the world of language and environmental studies. In 2016, he received his Ph.D. in English from UW-Madison. His academic work addresses the environmental humanities and 20th-century American literature and art. We had a thought-provoking discussion with Nathan that situated contemporary concerns about climate change at the intersection of literature and storytelling. In this episode of 1050 Bascom, we were privileged to talk again to Prof. Jon Pevehouse who teaches a variety of courses in international relations and foreign policy for the Political Science department as well as the La Follette School of Public Affairs. Prof. Pevehouse is the new Chair of the Political Science department and is also teaching his very popular American Foreign Policy course this semester. Prof. Pevehouse helped us put the US presence in Afghanistan in an historical context and offered his insights into the Taliban’s return to power last month in the aftermath of the US withdrawal. Steve earned his bachelor of science degree in Economics from UW-Madison in 2007. After graduation, he spent over six years working as a legislative assistant in the Wisconsin State Senate. While working at the capitol, he attended the La Follette School part-time, earning his master's degree in public affairs in 2014. After graduating, he joined the Wisconsin Department of Health Services as a budget and policy analyst and then joined the La Follette School as administrator and career services coordinator in April 2016 before becoming the Associate Director at La Follette in 2018. We asked Steve about his time on campus as an undergrad, his experience as a legislative assistant and as a budget analyst, his decision to pursue an MPA, and about his current leadership role at La Follette. In this episode of 1050 Bascom, we were grateful for the opportunity to talk to , an Associate Professor for the School for Workers at UW-Madison to talk about an important and unique study he co-directed called “Voices of Wisconsin Workers - A Community Engaged Study of Essential Workers During the Pandemic.” We’ve spent some time on the podcast talking in generalities about the impact of COVID-19 on the economy generally, but we haven’t really gotten into crucial questions of how the pandemic has impacted the financial lives of many individual workers, especially those deemed essential (and never stopped going to work in places where the virus was circulating even without vaccines). We are fortunate to be able to address some of these questions in this interview with Prof. Ibarra who has been studying these issues throughout the pandemic. In this episode 1050 Bascom, we were privileged to have the opportunity to talk to Roger Ervin, who received his MBA from the University of Wisconsin Business School and teaches courses at the La Follette School of Public Affairs. Roger is an accomplished global operating executive with experience in the public and private sectors. Roger’s career has spanned from working as a campaign field organizer to the highest levels of presidential politics and diplomatic service to serving as the CEO of a 5,000-employee global company operating in 40 countries. Roger was a senior advisor to the Biden 2020 presidential campaign and also served in the Clinton Administration as a Senior Advisor in the Africa Bureau of the State Department where he was deeply involved in some of the most crucial foreign policy matters of the time including helping Nelson Mandela’s rise to the presidency as well as resolving America’s intervention in Somalia and ending genocide in Rwanda. In May 2021, he joined Putnam Partners as a firm partner. Next spring, he will teach a course at La Follette called Strategic Public Management.

In this episode of 1050 Bascom, we were delighted to talk to Jordan Ellenberg, Professor of Mathematics at UW-Madison to talk through some of the many varied and interesting topics he engages in his new book, Shape: The Hidden Geometry of Information, Biology, Strategy, Democracy and Everything Else. The book, published in May, has received rave reviews nationally and internationally. Prof. Ellenberg offered his insights into the strengths of the rank choice voting process used in the recent NYC mayoral race. He also talked us through his research on gerrymandering and why he thinks it confronts us with the fact that “who sits in the legislature” is not a great formal proxy for “what the people want.” Prof. Ellenberg also made a convincing case for why geometry (and high level math learning more generally) is important for people participating in a democratic society. Today on 1050 Bascom, we are excited to welcome back Laura Albert, professor of industrial and systems engineering at UW-Madison. Prof. Albert first joined us last summer to talk about Covid-19 testing and tracing and the return of major league baseball. Ten months later, COVID remains a global and national crisis -- though we now have effective vaccines and, in the US, case numbers are declining in seemingly hopeful ways again. An alumni of the La Follette School, Heidi’s work most recently has focused on two major initiatives: The Wisconsin Family Impact Seminar and Campus Connect, a program that connects legislators with UW-Madison professors and researchers. Both efforts use a nonpartisan approach. We asked Heidi about these two initiatives and how they help realize the Wisconsin Idea in practice. In this episode of 1050 Bascom, we were grateful to once again have the opportunity to talk to Kacie Lucchini Butcher, a public historian and award-winning museum curator who is the director of UW-Madison’s Public History Project. Last summer, we talked with Kacie about the re-emerging civil rights movement and about the mission of the project to acknowledge and recover “the stories of those who experienced prejudice on the UW-Madison campus.” Given the rise of anti-Asian sentiment in the US over the last year as well as an increase in violence against Asian-Americans, we wanted to talk to Kacie about the Public History Project’s publication of two pieces that dig into the history of individual Asian-American experiences at UW- Madison. The first is entitled, "The University of Wisconsin and Japanese American Students - 1941-44", and the second is, “Japanese American Badgers.” As always, we enjoyed our conversation with Kacie and learned so much. In this episode of 1050 Bascom, we were grateful to once again talk to Barry Burden, Political Science Professor and Director of the Elections Research Center, about how the 2020 elections spurred new battles over voting rights. Prof. Burden shared his insights into why voting rights debates are escalating across the South and the Sun Belt. She received her law degree from Chicago Kent College of Law and has worked in civil law in Seattle, Washington and California before moving back to Madison. Amy has most recently focused her practice on Federal Title IX representation of victims of sensitive crimes. In this episode of 1050 Bascom, we were grateful to have the opportunity to interview, Prof. Dennis Dresang, Professor Emeritus in the Department of Political Science and the La Follette School of Public Affairs. In a long and distinguished career, Prof. Dresang, who served as Chair of the Political Science Department for two terms, has directed research and public service seminars at La Follette School for students interested in examining community health issues and youth violence. He also chaired two major gubernatorial task forces, and served on numerous tribal and local government commissions. He was research director for a policy initiative of Wisconsin's lieutenant governor to improve the status of women, and he was director of the Center for Wisconsin State, Local, and Tribal Governance. Professor Dresang is also the co-author of several books including Politics and Policy in American States and Communities, Public Personnel Management and Public Policy, Public Administration and most recently, Patrick J. Lucey: A Lasting Legacy. We asked Prof. Dresang about his time at UW-Madison both as a student and as a longstanding faculty member. Prof. Dresang shared with us his insights on polarization in Wisconsin politics and across the country and helped us put the most recent election cycle in a historical context.
In this episode of 1050 Bascom, we were grateful to have the opportunity to talk with Prof. Reed Lei, a new faculty member in the Political Science Department. We talked to Prof. Lei about growing up in China where he received his undergraduate degree at the China Foreign Affairs University. Prof. Lei also shared his personal and professional pathway to an MA and MPA at University of Southern California and a PhD at New York University before moving to a UW-Madison faculty position amidst the global pandemic. Prof. Lei offered his take on the current state of US-China relations as well as his analysis of Xi Jinping’s efforts to create short- and long-term economic and political success for China.

Sherry, who continues to offer her time and valuable insights to our majors as an active alumni mentor in the department, was a consultant in the areas of education, workforce and health care issues. She spent over two decades on Capitol Hill where she held an array of senior legislative positions, including staffing the 1988 Presidential Commission on the HIV Epidemic. As we continue to await the results of Tuesday’s presidential election, 1050 Bascom reached out to Prof. Burden for his insights on this historic week in American politics. Prof. Burden offered his take on what the pre-election polls got right, where the race is this afternoon, and how the next couple of days might play out. Prof. Burden also offered his take on President Trump’s election night remarks claiming victory, and walked us through his possible legal challenges. Prof. Burden told us he sees the high voter turnout rates across the country (amidst a global pandemic!) as very encouraging for the future of democratic elections in the US no matter which candidate prevails.
This afternoon, 1050 Bascom reached out to Prof. Canon for his final pre-election day thoughts on tomorrow’s historic presidential election. Prof. Canon offered his insights on the latest polls, and talked us through each candidate’s path to an electoral college victory. He also shared with us why he’s going to have an eye on Georgia, and offered his insights on why he hopes media reports of exit polls remind audiences that 94 million people have already voted. We really appreciated Prof. Canon’s discussion as we enter the last hours of the presidential campaigns.

After working as a Goldman Fellow in Chicago joined UN Watch—an independent human rights watchdog NGO— in Geneva, Switzerland where she lived for a year. In June 2020, Hilary testified before the U.N. Human Rights Council on a debate on human rights violations committed by Russia in Crimea. Hilary previously testified before the Human Rights Council on issues related to Israel and Equatorial Guinea. We learned a lot from Hilary and hope you will too.

In this episode of 1050 Bascom, we had the distinct honor and pleasure of interviewing Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield about her life and career in public service and her analysis of many of the opportunities and challenges the US faces today. Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield’s career in foreign service included State Department appointments across Republican and Democratic presidents from George W. Bush through President Obama. From 2013-2017, Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield served as U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, where she led the development and management of U.S. policy toward sub-Saharan Africa.
Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield now serves as Senior Vice President at the Albright Stonebridge Group in Washington DC and leads the firm's Africa practice. She earned B.A. from Louisiana State University and an M.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin, where she worked towards a PhD. She received an honorary Doctor of Law degree from the University of Wisconsin in May 2018. With the rise of a renewed civil rights movement this summer, we thought now would be a perfect time to talk about the mission of the project to acknowledge and recover “the stories of those who experienced prejudice and bigotry on the UW-Madison campus.” Bringing us into the contemporary moment, we asked Kacie to share with us her research and insights about how students, staff and faculty feel about the campus climate not only based on what happens on university grounds but in Madison more generally. We found her advice as an oral historian to listen to people’s stories and lived experiences with an empathetic mindset and willingness for open dialogue helpful in thinking through so much of what is happening in our world today. Phoenix, who majored in PS and International Relations, was awarded both the prestigious Marshall and Truman Scholarships, and received her MA in Public Policy at King’s College in London. Phoenix, who is interning this summer at the Office of the Public Defender in San Diego, will start her second year at Yale Law School in the fall. Phoenix offered her insights on applying to top law schools and prominent scholarships. In this episode, we were grateful to interview Don Stanley, an award-winning instructor who teaches design, social media, and digital marketing courses for the UW-Madison Department of Life Sciences Communication. Today on 1050 Bascom, we are excited to welcome back Josh Mesner to the podcast. As many of you know, Josh was the first host and editor of 1050 Bascom before moving to DC to begin a position at Energy Impact Center. Josh is a 2017 Badger who majored in Political Science and Environmental Studies. In this episode of 1050 Bascom, we had the opportunity to talk with UW-Madison’s Stephen Kantrowitz, Professor of History and affiliate faculty in the department of Afro-American Studies and in the American Indian Studies Program to situate the Black Lives Matters protests in a historical and contemporary context. We asked Prof. Kantowitz’s about his comprehensive published response to a UW undergrad’s questions to him regarding whether he believes violent protest is ever justified. Prof. Kantowitz offered his insights into the role of social media in both media coverage of protests and politics more generally, sharing his take on emergence of a “self-surveillance” state. Prof. Kantowitz shared his thoughtful analysis of why there are kernels of hope but also cause for concern in contemporary discourse over Black Lives Matter and debates and struggles over confederate monuments in terms of civil discourse in democratic debate in American politics today.
In this episode of 1050 Bascom, we had the opportunity to talk with Professor Halpern-Meekin from the UW-Madison School of Human Ecology to talk about issues surrounding poverty and the pandemic. Prof. Halpern-Meekin shared her analysis of the ongoing impact of the Covid-19 crisis on millions of people in the US and around the world who live in poverty or have been pushed to the economic brink by the crisis. Prof. Halper-Meekin also offered helpful insights into the role that federal and state policies such as unemployment benefits and eviction moratoriums play in preventing more people from falling into further economic despair. Our discussion covered a lot of ground from the US health care system to racial disparities in health outcomes in Covid-19 to the trade-off millions of people face between going back to work when there isn’t a virtual option while risking the threat of contracting the virus. In this episode of 1050 Bascom, we talk to Prof. John Zumbrunnen, Chair of the Political Science department and incoming Vice Provost of Teaching and Learning at the University about UW-Madison’s plans to re-open this fall with a mix of online and face-to face classes. In light of the ongoing civil rights protests on campus and around the nation, we also asked Prof. Zumbrunnen to address pressing questions about race and identity in the political science department with respect to both faculty representation and course offerings. In this episode we had the opportunity to speak with Delaney Foster, an Account Manager in Government Services at Insight Global in the greater San Diego area. Delaney, a PS and History double-major who graduated from UW in 2017, offered insightful, practical advice for building a strong resume as well as a networking community while you are still in college and into your early career years. Delaney highlighted the importance of be willing to venture outside of your comfort zone and making the most of any new learning opportunity. In this episode, we interviewed Marie Koko, the Senior Career Services Coordinator in the La Follette School of Public Affairs at UW-Madison. Many of our majors are familiar with Marie, who was an award-winning career advisor at SuccessWorks before moving over to La Follette last year. Marie offered us concrete advice for students seeking jobs and internship during the pandemic. She also shared helpful information about the undergraduate Public Policy Certificate at La Follette and the School’s Accelerated Master’s program open to selected UW-Madison undergraduates. In this episode of 1050 Bascom, we talked to Prof. Doug McLeod from the UW-Madison School of Journalism and Mass Communications to discuss media coverage of the BLM protests and social movements more generally. Prof. McLeod shared his insights about how fundamental changes in the media system in the 21st century has played out in both media coverage and public opinion formation surrounding our current political environment. Prof. McLeod also offers his analysis of the pros and cons of how a 24-hour news cycle along with increasingly partisan media has created a shift in focus from hard news to opinion and the impact this has had on politics, campaigns and elections.

1050 Bascom had the extreme pleasure of interviewing best-selling author and podcaster Alyssa Mastromonaco. A Political Science Badger alum and a member of the department’s Board of Visitors, Alyssa served as former White House Deputy Chief of Staff for the Obama Administration. She talked us through her political pathway from a feel-the-Bern intern in Vermont for Bernie Sanders and a politically active student at UW-Madison to working on several presidential campaigns and then for eight years focused on domestic and international policy in the Obama Administration. She also offered her take on leadership in divisive times and spoke to the ongoing protests following the death of George Floyd. We learned so much from talking with her Alyssa and found her practical career advice for people at all professional levels – always get the easy stuff right, show humility, be a meaningful team player - invaluable.
