CONSECRATION

Consecration means to give priority to spiritual things over the physical things.
It is the act of dedicating yourself to the service and worship of God.
It is to make holy or dedicate to a higher purpose.
Consecration is the amount of your unconditional surrender to God.

EXODUS 19:1-25 KJV

Every consecration has its boundaries.
Every spirit has its own level of consecration.

2ND CORINTTHIANS 6:15-18

Consecration is beyond the issue of sin.
It is possible not to be sinful, but you are not consecrated.
One of the characteristics and features of consecration is that you cannot say YES to everything even the good ones.

TYPES OF CONSECRATION

1. Consecration to God (Exodus 19:10, John 4:34)

It involves purity, reverence and fear of God.
It is kept by you revering God, personal and quality time with the Lord.

2. Consecration to the requirements of your destiny. (1ST SAMUEL 16:14-20)

Pay the price to become the best in what you do.
Everything can change your life if only you refine it.
Every destiny has its requirement that keeps the destiny on course.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SANCTIFICATION AND CONSECRATION

Sanctification - It refers to a person becoming holy.

Sanctification is God making you holy.

Consecration - Your response to sanctification is what we call consecration.

Consecration is you living holy.

Sanctification

It is the reality that affects your soul, mind and body.
Justification is the sanctification of the Spirit.

KEEPING YOUR CONSECRATION

Every anointing and calling has a consecration that protects it or ferns it.
If you receive a man's anointing and you do not study his consecration you will lose that anointing.

1. Sacrifice (Matthew 20:20-23)

Every level of consecration has it its own level of sacrifice.
Every consecration has a price tag attached on it.

2. Quality personal time in prayer

Consecration is the only way we draw power.

3. Word

Advancing is the cruise of the spirit in understanding the word of God.

Seeing is a grace that can be imparted to someone.
There is a grace make all men to see.

Firstfruit giving obviously honored the LORD, because it gave the LORD His portion off the top before any was used for one’s self.
This giving, and all giving done with the right heart, is a proper way to worship before the LORD your God.
When we receive from the LORD, and give back to Him, it makes us rejoice. It is the proper response of a creature to his Creator, who has supplied him with all good things.
Israel was to proclaim two things. First, that the LORD to be their God. Second, that they will walk in His ways and keep His statutes. The two go together, because the identity of our God is always demonstrated by the direction of our obedience.

ISAIAH 58:1-14 KJV

The reality was that His people didn’t fast with the right heart and did it only as an empty ritual. The reality was that even on a day when they fasted, they still exploited their employees. God didn’t accept their fasting when it wasn’t connected with a sincere heart of obedience.- The purpose of their fasting was to glorify themselves, to make their voice heard on high.
The kind of fasting God rebukes here is a hollow, empty, show, without the spiritual substance behind it. This isn’t the kind of fast God has chosen. Even though they do all the right things in fasting (bow down his head like a bulrush…spread out sackcloth and ashes), God does not even call this a fast.
God tells His people, “If you want to fast the way that pleases Me, begin with getting right with your brothers and sisters. Stop oppressing others and reach out to help others.”

WHAT KIND OF FASTING PRODUCES RESULTS?

To loose the bonds of wickedness
To undo the heavy burdens
To let the oppressed go free
To break every yoke
To Share your bread with the hungry
To bring to your house the poor who are cast out

DIMENISONS OF GIVING

1. TITHE

Gods economy was not built by buying and selling; God's economy was built by sowing and reaping.

2. FIRST FRUITS

They are a harvest we give to God as of our first priority.
The word firstfruits appears on the bible 31 times. This is to let us know of it significance to the body ofChrist.

SIGNIFICANCE OF GIVING FIRSTFRUITS

i) Giving our first fruits reminds us that God is our ultimate priority.

ii) It shows God that we are obedient to him and that we can be trusted by more.

3. ALMS

Bible readings: Psalm 41:1-3, Job 29:10-20

Alms are what we give to the poor or needy.

You are not permitted to live long if you are mean.
When you begin to give you graduate from begging.

SIGNIFICANCE OF GIVING ALMS

You will be blessed.
The Lord will deliver you in time of trouble.
The Lord will preserve you
The Lord will keep you alive
The lord will not deliver himto the will of your enemies
The lord will not deliver him to the will of your enemies.
The Lord will restore you in full health.

4. SEED

Bible readings: Mark 4:1-11

A seed is a kind of offering that you give to those who are senior than you.

You do not give alms to those who are above you.
You do not give God alms.
Never give your pastor or mentor alms but rather a seed.

TRUTH ABOUT SEED

i) Seed is what you sow into grace not into a need.

ii) When you give a seed to them you harvest what they have.

When you sow into a grace you attract that grace.
When you give a seed to them you harvest what they have.
Money is valueless until it becomes a seed.

A vow is a promise you give to God when you are in trouble.

A vow is the quickest prayer God can answer because you are entering into a deal with God.

6. THANKSGIVING

It is an offering you give to God as a reminder of the things he’s done for you

It reminds God that you are still remembering where he has taken you form and that you have not forgotten.

Words have great power to bless and to curse. Jesus said that a man is not made unclean by what goes into his mouth, but by what comes out of it (Mt 15:11). James says whoever can control his tongue could be perfect in every way.

As a muscle, the tongue isn’t as capable of producing force as a leg or even the jaw, but its power is measured by the damage it can do and the life it can bring

Many have ruined their lives by not ruling their mouths. Others have been honored for their kind and wise tongues. Your speech will bring either blessing or cursing from both God and men, in both time and eternity. Do you love good speech or bad speech? Your future will be impacted heavily by your choice and habit.

A tongue can kill or save others’ lives. A false witness can cause the death of an innocent man, or a comforter can restore a dejected man by an uplifting word. A slanderer can kill the reputation of a good man, or a wise counselor can guide a young man through the dangers of youth.

Even evil men can say good things when it is to their greedy purposes to do so, and good men slip from time to time and say things they should not. When you see a man failing in life, he likely did not rule his tongue.

Other men rise like cream to the top, because they rule their speech. They limit words They use gentleness rather than bluster They speak only the certain words of truth. They never talk against a man. They study and think before speaking.
