Goodmorning,

Today’s Feel Good Thought will reveal how to “Bust a Bad Mood.” In today’s podcast, I want to share some simple, yet effective ways to turn that frown upside down.

Do you want to know how to shift your negative energy to positive when you’re in a bad mood? Anytime, Anywhere...

First, you need to analyze yourself, your mood, and your current atmosphere. When you’re in this mood of yours, what is the reason you are feeling this way? Some factors could include…

A. Lack of sleep

B. Lack of food

C. Long working hours

D. Any other external factor

No matter what the reasoning may be, identify it. Now, that you have identified the cause and effect of your unhappy mood, I challenge you to BUST IT.... Time to make a SHIFT!

When I am feeling down, I turn to some of these modest methods to shift my energy.

  1. Think about doing something you love and enjoy. For example, if your passion is exercising, go for a walk and release those “feel good” endorphins.

  2. If you love the sun, boost your Vitamin D intake and soak up the sun for a few moments.

  3. Listen to your favorite songs and watch funny videos. Believe it or not, this is very effective.

  4. Allow yourself peaceful moments that will yield feelings of joy, love, and happiness. Absorb this new state of mind.

These are just a few of the ways you can successfully bust your bad mood.

Tune into this podcast by clicking the play button above to hear more approaches on how to transform a gloomy attitude into a beautiful one.

Don’t forget to smile,

Joey

Goodafternoon,

I want to end the week with some Feel Good Friday inspiration!!

Today’s Feel Good Thought is…If not you, then who?

This inspirational Feel Good Thought today is about having self belief and really believing in you.

There is a great youtube video by knickback which ties in nicely with the theme of if not you then who? It is called “What are you waiting for?”

It talks about “What are you waiting for?” and some of the inspiring words from the song are;

Are you waiting for the right excuse?

Are you waiting for the perfect night?

Are you waiting till the time is right?

Don’t you want to learn to deal with fear?

Don’t you want to take the wheel and steer?

You gotta go reach for the top

Believe in every dream that you got

Your only living once so tell me

What are you waiting for?”

(Click on the youtube video below to watch the entire video)

Aren’t these words above powerful? – What are you waiting for?

The difference between success and failure can be a shortfall of just giving up too soon, so don’t be afraid to keep going and pushing through the challenging times to reach your dreams. Believe in the dreams you have!

Here are three things to consider when thinking about the quote – ‘If not you, then who?’

  1. What is Your WHY??
  2. What result are you trying to achieve? Why are you hoping to achieve this?
  3. How would it feel if you achieved this goal?

Remember If not your then who – so go out and work on your dreams. Tune into today’s feel good thought by clicking on the play button above to hear more inspiration about this topic.

Have a great weekend,

Joey

Goodmorning,

Today’s Feel Good Thought is…”Forget Your Fear and Move Forward!”

In today’s podcast, I share some awareness around the emotion of fear. Learn how to overcome fear as it appears with these three steps to consider:

  1. Take time out and just breathe; It is difficult to find clarity around a fear when you are flooded in the emotion. By sitting and breathing in peace and quiet it will help you to slow down, find some calmness and understand why you are feeling the fear. So, by slowing down, focusing on the breathe it can help with decreasing any stress around the fear and seeking some stillness and clarity.
  2. Talk it out: Speak to someone about your fear and talk it out! When you are able to share the fear with another it can help with overcoming the fear, they may be able to support you so you feel a decrease in the fearful emotion and it also can help with putting things in perspective.
  3. Take Action: Knowing that if you speak to someone about your fear, work through the awareness of why you are feeling the fear and take some time out to just breathe, then you are one step closer to moving forward by taking action. When taking action you are seeking a way towards finding a solution and moving forward.

Goodmorning!

Today’s Feel Good Thought is about disconnecting from technology and reconnecting to self and this begins by being mindful of the time spent on the phone.

The thought for today is… ‘Put down your phone and reconnect to self’

Be mindful today of the time you are spending looking at a screen, whether it be a computer screen, phone, ipad etc… We can fill so many quiet moments in our day by looking at our phone and scrolling through social media. Today I share with you some ways in which you can put down your phone, disconnect from technology and reconnect to self.

  1. Step outside and just breathe. If you are working indoors on the computer all day, think about what do you do on your lunch break. If you are tempted to check your phone, try to take some moments of timeout to step outside instead and get some fresh air, take a look around at the environment that surrounds you and have gratitude for what you see.
  2. Spend lunchtime with a colleague and enjoy lunch chatting with each other. Instead of spending lunchtime, eating and hanging out on to social media, hang out with a colleague and chat instead.
  3. Focus on your food. Turn the phone off or put it away when you eat a meal. When we focus on what we eat, we enjoy the meal more and are more mindful of how much food we are consuming.
  4. 20minutes before bedtime, disconnect from any techonology and do something nourishing for you such as enjoy a cup of tea or listen to relaxing music, read a book or use this time as a reflection time to think about the best part of the day and people who you are grateful for in your life.

Today think about how can you disconnect from technology and reconnect to self. Listen to the podcast by clicking on the play button above to find out more.

Have a beautiful day,

Joey

The purpose of my life is... Have you ever thought about this sentence? Well, in today's Feel Good Thoughts Podcast #47 I share with you a moment I had 6 years ago when I was at a Anthony Robbins conference called Date With Destiny and how I went through a process to unfold and dig deep with my life purpose.

In the podcast today I share more about the process and how I came up with this phrase which sums up my life purpose being...

The purpose of my life is to spread my wings like a butterfly, sprinkling my love, faith and passion to all those around me.

This 'purpose' mantra really helps to ground me and reminds me of where I am at, what I want to do and how I want to help serve humanity. And even through times when I am challenged or times when I'm thinking am I on the right path... am I sticking to how I want to serve and help sprinkle my love, faith and passion to others, I just bring myself back to that feel good thought of what my purpose is.

Today I challenge you to think about what is your purpose? What is it that drives you and what is it that you want to achieve and do?

Tune into today's Feel Good Thoughts Podcast #47 to hear more about living your life purpose.

Goodmorning,

Today’s Feel Good Thought is about trying something new.

This year one of my goals is to go a little outside my comfort zone and try new things because I know that when I try something new, this can help me grow, learn and discover more.

I actually thought at the beginning of this year, imagine if I tried just one new thing every single month this year, that would mean I would learn 12 new things or go on 12 new adventures. Some of the most memorable experiences for me has been when I have tried something new. Tune into today’s podcast by clicking on the play button above to hear more about this topic.

What are some new fun, healthy, positive adventures or activities that you could try this year?

Happy Monday!!

Start the week feeling inspired by listening to the latest Feel Good Thoughts Podcast #44 where I interview an inspiring Australian, who has been a multiple world record holder for endurance running, has served 8 years as a Member of Australia’s Parliament, with 3 years as Parliamentary Secretary for Education, Science and Training. He has been the winner of ‘Achiever of the Year’ (2000), awarded by the Prime Minister and has raised millions of dollars for causes during his 20 year running career. Today I am excited to share an inspiring interview with Pat Farmer.

Pat has achieved many incredible ultra marathon events including the Pole to Pole run which was 20,900km. In this run, he achieved more then 20 million steps from the North Pole to the South Pole running. Something which is pretty amazing about this run was that Pat did the entire race against time with no days off at all. He ran for 10 months and 13 days covering 14 countries.

Throughout today's podcast, Pat chats about his journey from Pole to Pole and also about his upcoming 'Spirit Of India Run' which commences tomorrow on Australia Day. This run is a journey from the southern most point of India along the west coast towards Mumbai and beyond to Delhi and the Himalayan mountains. Pat is about to embark on a run which is over 4000km in 60 days. He will be running an average 80km each day. Isn't that amazing!!

Pat’s aim for this run is to promote goodwill, friendship and trade between Australia and India, while also highlighting and raising funds for girls’ education in India.

I asked Pat if he has a motivational quote, a feel good thought or something that inspires him. He shared this...

"There is no force on this earth greater then your own personal will. If you want to do something and I mean literally if you want to do anything with all your heart, you can and you will find a way. But if you don't truly want to do it, you will simply find an excuse. Figure out what it is that you want with all your heart and remember no excuses" - Pat Farmer

Life is not always easy and sometimes things happen which are disappointing. In today's Feel Good Thoughts Podcast #43 I open my heart and share how I coped through a disappointment recently which really broke my heart. It was one of those situations which I didn't see coming and I never thought it would happen to me.

How did I cope to overcome the disappointment?

The first thing I did was honor the now. I allowed myself to feel sad, to cry whatever it is I was feeling then I began to immerse myself into love and think about the disappointment and out of the experience was there something I could learn?

I realised that it will make me be stronger and next time I will have more knowledge, I discovered there were lessons I have learnt. But I also remembered to honor the now, I felt the feelings but then I knew I had to get back up, I couldn't give up. I remembered this....

To think about the blessings and lessons!

Everything happens for a reason and good comes out of it, is a quote I always bring up when I am going through challenges. And then I ask this question... "After a disappointment how is there any good from this situation?"

Then I asked the question again… and I thought; The good is in the lesson, the good is in the learning, the good is knowing that you have the strength to get back up again and move forward. So, today know that if you are going through a challenge that you can do this, you can get back up, build your strength and move on.

You see I don't believe life is about winning – it is experience and along the way the lessons we learn and the growth that comes from an experience is a gift.

Never give up on yourself, reach out to someone who is a support unit who can help you through a challenging time and know that you can do this.

Tune into today’s podcast above to hear more about dealing with disappointment, it is a raw straight from the heart podcast and one you don't want to miss.

Sending you love, light and happiness,

Joey

Life is not always easy and sometimes things happen which are disappointing. In today’s Feel Good Thoughts Podcast #43 I open my heart and share how I coped through a disappointment recently which really broke my heart. It was one of those situations which I didn’t see coming and I never thought it would happen to me.

But I also remembered to honor the now, I felt the feelings but then I knew I had to get back up, I couldn’t give up. I remembered this….

To think about the blessings and lessons!

Everything happens for a reason and good comes out of it, is a quote I always bring up when I am going through challenges. And then I ask this question… “After a disappointment how is there any good from this situation?”

Goodmorning,

Happy Monday!! Today I want to share with you some tools that you can consider when practicing peace in your daily lifestyle.

There are 5 Components When Practicing Peace:

  1. Find a Sacred Place

Find a quiet, sacred place in which you can do your practice. It may be outdoors at a park, beach or in your backyard. Or it may be indoors in a place in your house. Find a place you resonate with that you can call your sacred place of practice. It is important to find this place so you know that when you go to your sacred place this is the place where you have peace, serenity and love.

Create your own sacred place by choosing somewhere that is a place where you feel at peace. For me, I am a real beach girl so I have a sacred place at the beach that I go to in the morning. It is a meditation rock where a lot of people go to meditate and practice yoga at sunrise. It is absolutely stunning.

Why do I love to meditate at sunrise?

Just as the sunrises, there is a sense of real peace and quiet in the air. It is very tranquil. I like to go the beach and watch the sun peak through the horizon up over the ocean into the sky. When I watch the sunrise, I sit in stillness and observe the nature around me; I listen to the waves, I can hear birds chirping and it really is a peaceful, beautiful way to start the day feeling relaxed, centered, grounded and at peace.

With every sunrise it is an opportunity to start fresh, each day is a new day. It is your opportunity to shine bright like the sun. Start the day with a clean canvas and paint it as colorfully as you like. It is a new day with the chance to start new.

Believe it or not the days when I choose to wake early and watch the sunrise and meditate I feel more awake and energized throughout the day. I feel like I have so many more hours in my day, it is very productive. The secret is to get to bed early to ensure you have enough rest to be motivated to wake early.

‘The early bird catches the worm’

Therefore rising early at sunrise and going to my sacred place at the beach where I can see the sunrise is the perfect place for me to meditate. This is just an example of a sacred space and practice. It is important to recognize each person is different and you may find a place completely different that resonates with you for your sacred space of practice.

  1. No Technology

Once you have found your sacred place, make it a ritual to have no technology whilst you practice. If you are beginning your day with meditation practice, then try not to check your emails, social media, watch tv or turn on the computer before your practice. Keep your thoughts clear and alert from your morning awakening because once we check emails, thoughts are in reaction mode, we start to think about that person we need to get back to, we think about what our boss needs us to do and we build moments of stress and reactions which in turn builds action to want to be wired with emails, social media and technology. Therefore by not clocking into any forms of technology we are able to be clearer with the practice.

  1. Honor

Honor yourself in the knowing that this time you have allocated just for you. There is no need to feel like you have to rush or be somewhere else. Allocate the time when you know this time is set aside just for you to be. When you take the time to do your practice, be patient, be nurturing, be loving to you and know that this is your time to just be. I like to start my meditation practices with an intention, such as;

‘The intention for my practice today is to find clarity to know where I want to go or what I want to do today'

  1. Breathe

I like to begin the meditation practice in a comfortable position with palms facing upwards, ready to receive. As I begin breathing, I start to bring my focus and energies into the present now. I say my intention and then focus on the breath; and I a...

Happy Weekend!

Today I want to share the thought around 'decisions shape direction!'.

When making a decision YOU need to make a choice and once you make a choice things will change. And your choices will have a impact on the direction in which you want to go.

So, it is really important to ensure to make healthy choices which will work positively in the direction of where you want to go.

Sometimes decisions can be really tough because you're not sure on which way to go. But what is more challenging? Making a decision or staying stuck in the mud and not moving anywhere without a decision at all?

I want to share with you this two step process I consider when making a decision;

Think about all the variables: What will happen if you make the decision, what will happen if you don't. What choices do you have around the decision and what healthy choice will you decide when moving forward.

Ask your heart what it is that you really want to do: I like to sit in some peace and quiet and allow my inner thoughts and feelings to help guide me with making a healthy decision – sometimes you just know in your heart the real direction in which you want to go. Therefore by sitting in peace and quiet and having a clear mind to think about the variables, can help with making a decision from the heart.

Tune into today's Feel Good Thoughts Podcast #40 where I share more about how decisions shape direction.

Have a great weekend!

Goodmorning and HAPPY MONDAY!!

Start this week in a nurturing and nourishing way by taking care of you. YES that's right, it is time to take care of you because YOU are responsible for your own happiness and your own health.

When you are able to nurture and nourish yourself, you fill up your cup full of goodness. And when your cup is filled and it begins to overflow with the positivity, happiness and love you feel, it makes it easier to share this with others.

So, today, start the day in a positive way by doing whatever it takes to take care of you. It may be by starting the day with some self compliments.

Complimenting yourself at first may feel a little strange but we are awesome at complimenting others so why not compliment yourself. When you give yourself positive reinforcement and praise you are allowing yourself to feel good. What compliment could you give yourself right now? Or think about this...

'What is something beautiful about you?'

The inspiration for today's Feel Good Thoughts Podcast, has come from one my listeners Suzanne and the topic for today is ‘Keeping The Heart Happy’.

And I want to start with this inspiring feel good thought today which is;

‘YOU have a gift and that is the power to change your feeling at anytime, so today choose JOY, today choose HAPPY!’

I love this quote and recently a close friend of mine watched Inside Out, she then wrote to me and said 'all I could think of the whole way through it was... OMG Joy is actually Joey!' LOL...

And the reason why I live with JOY naturally is because I make the choice to choose happiness every single day.

Isn't it amazing when we think that we all have the gift of choice, we can choose how we feel.

Today I want to share with you about how you can create a happy heart by simply choosing JOY and choosing LOVE and making the conscious decision daily to keep the heart happy.

But it begins with...

Honoring your feeling. When your are not happy, seek some happiness by doing one thing that you LOVE and think about the last time you were happy and tap into that energy.

Know your own happiness - Don't compare to what makes someone else happy. Know what makes YOU happy!

Know what's important to you - because what is important to you, makes you happy!

Do one thing a day that makes you happy!

It is important also to realise that a thankful heart is a happy heart, so continue to have gratitude daily and appreciate how awesome YOU are.

When was the last time you sat down and said 'thank you' to you or gave yourself some praise. We are great at giving others praise but it is just as important to do it for you too.

Giving yourself positive reinforcement helps you to increase your individual happiness.

Happiness notepad – At night write down 3 things that made you feel good or happy that day. Even on the days when you may have had challenges doing this small activity can help you to seek the good in the day.

Look for the lessons in situations – When times are challenging and the heart is feeling like it needs some strength, begin by looking for the lessons. When we seek lessons we seek appreciation, opportunity and growth which leads the heart back towards happiness.

So, there are a variety of ways of which we can keep the heart happy but it all really begins with YOU... seeking the choice to choose happiness, joy, positivity and love.

Light and happiness,

Joey

Today's Feel Good Thought is all about replacing the words 'I should' with 'I choose'.

I want to start by sharing what is the difference between I should and I choose.

When I use the words 'I should'... I feel like I am obliged to do something, I feel like I should do it! It is almost like a decision to do something is based on an external influence.

However when I change the words to 'I choose'... it is more empowering, loving and I feel like I am making a decision based on what I want to do within. The choice then becomes mine.

Tune into today's podcast to hear more about this thought of using the words 'I Choose'... And remember to make your own choices today by beginning your sentences with 'I choose'...

Have a fab day!

Good afternoon,

Only a few more days until Christmas and I have someone special on today's podcast show who is going to share with us how to create some stillness amongst this busy time of year. Tom Cronin is the founder of The Stillness Project and also an amazing meditation teacher. Tom holds regular meditation classes in Sydney in which I really love and thought it would be amazing for him to share with us more about the importance of stillness.

How do people find stillness and clarity at this busy time of year?

Tom shares with us how you can create an effective timetable in your day to help you to be more present in each moment and also with seeking some calmness in this busy time of year.

Some key components to consider when seeking to be more present are;

Phone time; Stay focused on the task at hand by putting the phone aside or away.

Stillness - Regular practice of yoga and meditation. Putting blocks of time aside where you don't have to process any information is important. And you do this by allocating time for yoga or meditation practice.

'Meditation can be like... Putting your phone into the powerpoint and starting to reboot it's energy'

I love this quote that Tom shares because it is so true, our bodies need time out to reboot and recharge and meditation is a beautiful practice in which you can implement to help you recharge.

If we were to do a bit of stillness each day, how long should we do it for?

In the podcast Tom shares with us more about what stillness is and the importance of breathe and mantra meditation.

Goodmorning,

Today I want to share with you the importance of incorporating daily rituals.

Daily rituals are activities that you enjoy and benefit you towards helping you to feel good. I enjoy doing daily rituals in the morning each day to help me start the day in a positive way.

I find that taking some time out for you to do things that you love in the morning, really help with providing a solid foundation for the day ahead.

I know that even if I just take 15 minutes in the morning for some rituals time, it can make all the difference with feeling good and starting the day in a positive way.

Some of my morning rituals are;

  • Watching the sunrise

  • Meditation practice

  • Yoga practice

  • Mindfulness - Write down my thoughts

  • Think positive thoughts - affirmations

  • Read something inspiring

  • Move my body - some form of exercise

  • Catch up with a friend to go for a walk

  • Nourish the body ie. Enjoy a green smoothie

How do you find the time to do morning rituals?

  1. Wake up earlier in the morning; Even if you begin with waking up just 15 minutes earlier to take some time to start your day with mindfulness and positivity, this can make all the difference. I usually try and wake up an hour earlier to dedicate that time just for me.

  2. Go to bed earlier; Try to go to bed earlier at night, so it is easier to wake up earlier in the morning.

  3. Social Media free time; Replace social media moments in the morning with mindfulness moments. Ie. Whilst you eat breakfast or are enjoying a cup of tea in the morning, use that time to focus on setting some intentions for the day ahead or think positive thoughts and have some quiet time for you where you can be mindful without any technology.

  4. Consistency Is The Key; Once you start doing the morning rituals on a regular basis, it makes it much easier to keep doing them. Be consistent and enjoy the benefits that morning rituals provide.

'Morning rituals are beautiful moments of time for you'

What are some of your morning rituals? Share them below.

I finished my early morning workout at the gym this morning and thought I wanted to share with you some ways in which you can feel inspired and motivated to move.

This morning I woke up 5.30am, turned over and pressed the snooze button (ops!) and then went back to sleep again but lucky I have another alarm set for 5 mins later with the motivational mantra on my phone that says 'Lets do this, time to train!'. After I saw that I thought OK I really need to get up now. Which brings me onto the first of 5 feel good fit inspo which is...

Tip#1:

Motivation on your alarm clock or write a motivational mantra or inspiration on paper and put it next to the bed where you can read it.

Tip#2:

Prepare active wear or gym clothes the night before and place them next to your bed where you can see them when you wake up in the morning.

Tip#3:

Do exercise that you ENJOY!!!

If you like to swim – swim

It you like to surf – surf

If you enjoy running - run

Do whatever movement you enjoy, that helps you to feel good.

Tip#4:

Keep your exercise fun and interesting with a holistic approach. Have variety, here are some ideas below;

Walk

Yoga

Gym

Run

Weights

Cycle class

High Intensity Interval Training

Group fitness

Just do some sort of movement that helps you feel good.

Also remember, if your starting a new exercise program to seek professional help before commencing; for instance book in to see a fitness professional who you can do a pre-exercise questionnaire with and they can help you with knowing what exercises you can do when starting out.

Tip #5:

Know your WHY?

Why is it that you want to exercise or move your body. Is it because it helps you to;

Feel good

Feel grounded or centred

Start the day feeling energised

Lose weight or get more toned or to put on muscle?

Feel healthier

Know what is your WHY? Because your WHY is fantastic leverage to help you stay inspired and motivated.

So there are 5 Feel Good Fit Tips to help motivate you and inspire you to move your body. Click on the play button above to hear the podcast where I share more about each of these feel good fit inspirations.

Goodafternoon,

Today's topic is around Stress... Stress is a natural emotion which comes up in life and on today's Feel Good Thoughts #31 I share with you some self love solutions which can help when in stressful situations.

When stress appears I do some self love solutions including;

Stop, Step Back and Breathe; If you feel like you are getting stressed or overwhelmed try to stop doing whatever it is that you are doing that's making you feel stressed. Step back or move away from the situation and take some time out to just breathe. Try to fix the focus more on breathing and seeking calmness around the situation.

Find the calmness in the situation; Once you are able to stop, step away and breathe, it enables you to start to focus more on your breathe which will allow you to seek some calmness.

Take time out; If you are inside working and feeling overwhelmed then take some time out and go outside, get some fresh air and take some time to breathe, go for a little walk and release the stress.

Stop speaking and start listening within; If you are in a stressful conversation or situation then try to stop speaking and being seeking for some calmness in this situation. Once you feel calm, then being to find a solution to help overcome the stressful situation.

Put things in perspective; Step out of the situation and think about putting things in perspective to assist with seeking clarity and calmness.

'Fix your focus on the solution rather then the stress. Where your focus goes your energy flows. So focus on the solution and calmness'

Tune into the podcast above where I chat more about seeking solutions in a stressful situation.

Have a beautiful weekend,

Growing up Damien had a tough childhood, being a victim of child abuse and was determined to find his peace, and ensure it doesn't happen to another child, so he set off on the solo paddle to help raise awareness against child abuse and also paddle for his foundation PACA - Paddle Against Child Abuse.

The film displays a story of courage, inspiration and belief that anything is possible.

Throughout this episode, Damien shares about his experience on the paddle, some challenges he went through, along with what motivated him and inspired him whilst he was on the paddle. Goodafternoon,

With Christmas just around the corner today I want to share with you some ways in which you can bring Christmas cheer to others around you.

Volunteering – Volunteering is a beautiful gift to give this Christmas, being able to spend some time helping others can help you to help you to feel good, spread happiness and feel happy! Studies have shown that volunteering has the power to reduce anxiety and depression. There are many different organisations at Christmas in which you can help, just do a little Google search online to see what volunteering opportunities are available close to where your live.

Bake some gingerbread cookies and take them into work and surprise everyone in your team. Or if you don’t like to bake then maybe you could buy some and share them around. Share Christmas Cheer through surprising others.

Offer to help someone – If you have a family member or friend who is feeling a little overwhelmed during the lead up to Christmas, then why not ask them if you can help them with anything; such as babysitting the kids or going over to their place and sitting with them to help wrap christmas presents can make all the difference.

If someone is alone at Christmas time then invite them to your celebrations. This can make all the difference. Ask your friends, work collegues and friends what they are doing at Christmas? Be conscious of including others into your Christmas Cheer celebrations.

Give back by donating a gift to those in need. Some stores run appeals, such as Kmart where you can get a tag from the Wishing Tree. Using one end of the tag, indicate the age group and gender of who you think might like to receive your gift. All you need to do then is place the gift under the Wishing Tree. Then you are able to take one half of the tag to hang on your tree at home. Share the love and Christmas Cheer this year by buying just one more gift and help someone smile this Christmas.

Go and EXPLORE – Surprise a loved one with an adventure this Christmas. You can create your own experience such as creating a surprise day out, like going for a hike or if it is hot then visit a new coastline of beaches or stand up paddle boarding or if it is winter you could perhaps go snowboarding. For adventure ideas you could also visit websites like redballoon.com.au which is an awesome platform to choose an experience to buy as a gift voucher. Experiences are always fun because they help create lasting memories.

Create your own Christmas cards – A fun activity for the holidays (especially for kids and big kids!) is to spread Christmas cheer is through creating your own Christmas cards. Its really easy just grab some different coloured paper or cardboard maybe red and green, some glitter and away you go!Another idea could be to buy some plain white or plain brown wrapping paper and get the kids to create the Christmas wrapping paper by painting or drawing Christmas trees, santa, stars, Happy Christmas anything like that on the paper and then use that as wrapping paper for the Christmas presents.

Compliment a person each and every day from today till Christmas day and share the Christmas cheer through happiness and compliments. It may be something as simple as letting someone know they are truly appreciated, thanking a collegue or a friend. It is really about taking time to notice something nice about another.

I hope you have found some of these Christmas Cheer ideas helpful, please SHARE this post to help spread the Christmas Cheer with others.

Merry Christmas everyone, enjoy your weekend!

Goodmorning,

Today's feel good thought is based around mindfulness, and the affirmation I would like to begin with is 'I honor and allow myself to just be'.

Isn't that a beautiful affirmation to start the day? The reason why I love this affirmation is that you are able to break down the affirmation and use it in a way like;

I honor myself the space to practice whatever it is that makes me feel good, like meditation or yoga.

And I allow myself the time to be mindful in this moment and just be.

To be mindful to me, means to be in the here and now, right now. It is about dedicating the time to honor myself the space to practice my meditation and during that time just letting thoughts come and go with no judgement. It is really about letting go of what was, surrendering to what is and believing in what will be.

Taking time out for mindfulness allows me to decrease stress, feel at peace and feel more love, light and happiness.

Tune into today's Feel Good Thoughts Podcast #26 where I share more about mindfulness and living conciously.

I would love to know what mindfulness means to you, send me a tweet @feelgoodjoey with what mindfulness means to you and remember to hashtag #feelgoodthoughts so we can share these beautiful feel good thoughts with others.

Have a great day,

Hey there,

Today I want to share a feel good thought around the word 'courage'.

To me, courage is caring about what you want and taking the leap to achieve it.

Look at it like this...there is a bridge, on one side is fear and the other side is your ultimate goal or dream. Courage is simply the steps you take over the bridge to get to where you desire.

Courage is also understanding you may not win or achieve the outcome you desire but you'll give it a go anyway. It's realising that overcoming your fear and having that self belief to steer toward your goal is more important than holding back and letting fear consume you.

So next time you feel fear, don't let it hold you back. Instead, get that feel good thought that courage is about caring about what you want, about gaining self belief and realising that it may take a little bit of moving outside your comfort zone but when you strive towards your goal, this is far more important than fear.

Have the courage to believe in yourself and take the step forward to achieve your goals. You can do this!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today is a great day to think about all that you are thankful for in your life. I am thankful for my family, universal friendships, my team, mother earth, love and connections with loved ones, the ocean, this incredible gift of life and much more.

To celebrate thanksgiving today I want to share with you a thankfulness practice in which you can do by yourself, with a friend or in a group.

A few weeks ago while I was in Costa Rica, my friends and I went through this thankfulness practice together. It was a beautiful morning on the beach and we sat legs crossed on the sand, palms up open to receive and closed our eyes. One at a time, each of us would say " I am thankful for..." and then say what we have thankful for. We then would pause, be in the present moment and then the next person would have their turn and share what they are thankful for in their life.

After going around the circle a few times, my friends expressed such appreciation and gratitude. It was a beautiful way to share the blessings we have in life as well as life experiences and a wonderful way to start the day in a feel good way.

I have had a few experiences with this practice, and what I found is once you start reflecting on what your grateful for, you can really keep going and get in a flow. The practice can be done anywhere, at work or at home, perhaps with a group, alone or with a friend.

But wherever, or however you do the practice, it's a great way to feel good. There are 3 reasons why I absolutely love this activity:

Goodness and gratitude - You're able to reflect on your day or last few days, months or year and soak up all the goodness as your reflect back on all your positive experiences and blessings in your life. You have more blessings than you realize, when you just stop and think about what you are grateful for in your life.

It's an energy booster - I notice the more I expressed my gratitude, the more energy I felt from all the positive energy flowing through my body.

Sense of inner peace - After the practice, I always feel more grounded, full of love, and have a strong sense of inner peace.

Here's a few things to remember if you plan on trying out the thankfulness practice:

Choose how long you want to do the practice for - there is no right or wrong length of time. Just sit comfortably, take a few deep breaths and close your eyes and relax. Simply start by saying what you're thankful for in your life and enjoy!

If you decide to give this practice a go, please let me know how you go @feelgoodjoey, I would love to hear.

Have a great day!

Hi everyone,

Today's podcast is about how words carry energy and when we choose to speak positively it can assist with a positive outcome.

Aldous Huxley says "Words form the thread on which we string our experiences" and I could not agree more. Every word we use carries an energy, which assists with creating our mindset each day.

Let's think back to the last time you had to motivate yourself. Maybe it was to wake up before work an train, or for a work presentation or perhaps a speaking engagement, whatever it was, what words did you use to motivate yourself?

Did you have an energetic tone? Was it phrases like 'I can do this!', 'I believe in myself' or 'I am so ready for this' Or did you think more like 'I cannot do this' and 'I don't have the confidence to do this'. Did you notice a lack of motivation if you used more negative phrases?

Your words are so powerful and can easily shift the energy. Motivating yourself with positive words and phrases can give your more energy and give you a positive mindset, allowing you to achieve your goals. However, using words like 'can't' or 'don't promote doubt and negativity, making your goals more challenging.

So ask yourself how to be more positive, use your words to create a positive energy that can motivate you to achieve all your goals. Keep your mind on what you want, and by choosing feel good words, you can have a feel good day.

Make sure to tune into the podcast for more tips on how to create positive energy with your words.

Good morning,

Today I want to share some feel good thoughts around descriptive affirmations.

But first.. What are affirmations?

An affirmation is a positive statement or thought that you intend to do or perhaps something you want to achieve in life.

I am a big believer in starting the day in a positive way and the easiest way to do this is through setting a positive affirmation.

I wrote a book called "The Feel Good Affirmations Guide" where I share 21 days of feel good affirmations to promote self love and happiness. I begin each of these affirmations with "I am..."

I like to the start affirmations with "I am..." because it shows we are taking ownership of whatever comes next in the sentence. Starting with "I am..." assists in creating a positive energy that simply helps us to feel good.

So, let's think about some affirmations you may already have.

Perhaps you want to boost your energy levels and your affirmation is "I am energized". This affirmation represents a feeling of energy, but to lift the level of positivity we can add descriptive words like "I am filled with abundance amounts of energy". Just by adding a few descriptive words, you have made such a more positive and uplifting affirmation.

How can you add some positivity and descriptive words to one of your daily affirmations?

I would love to know what your positive affirmations are, so make sure to tweet them to me @feelgoodjoey.

Light and happiness,

Joey

Moving Mountains

Today I am excited to share with you a Feel Good Thoughts Podcast with the inspiring Jonathan Ronzio who produced the film Between the Peaks.

Jonathan shares about the journey with his two friends in their dream to climb the tallest mountains in both North and South America and how throughout their journey, they also volunteered at every country between the two peaks.

Jonathan explains that as climbers, the men had the obvious dream of reaching the summit of these mountains, but that its just as important to focus on the steps along the way of achieving your goals.

He planned for 2 years and intensely trained for 1 year. The mountain in South America stood at 22,841 ft and took 12 days to climb. At 21,600 ft, Jonathan fell to his knees, as his chest felt tight and he began experiencing heart palpations, the early symptoms of high altitude pulmonary edema set in and he was forced to turn back. Jonathan remembers how heartbreaking of a decision it was, but is now able to reflect back and realize sometimes what you think is right, isn’t.

He had a vision, and it did not end the way he planned, but everything has a way of working out and making itself known. After all the training and planning, to have such a positive attitude is absolutely inspiring!

Although he did not make it to the top, he achieved so much – the experience he gained was life changing. He reminds us that big dreams can look daunting but are always achievable if you break them down. He uses the metaphor of a mountain, explaining from far away it looks huge and challenging, but up close, you find the rocks to grab, the footholds to dig into and every 10ft is just a walk up a difficult staircase. Any dream, no matter how big, is always doable.

Throughout his journey, he cherished the words a 12-year old said to him years ago while surfing:

“Keep paddling, even after you think the wave has you”

We chase our dreams, and sometimes, when we think we are there, we simply stop. Jonathan reminds us to keep the momentum, keep paddling, keep climbing, keep pushing and you can achieve anything.

Make sure to watch Jonathan’s entire journey through his inspiring film Between The Peaks. www.betweenthepeaks.com and tune into the podcast below to hear more about his journey.

Hi everyone,

Today's podcast is focused on the feel good thought 'Motivate Me'.

I want to start with the quote "I am only as motivated as the person I am allowing myself to be"

Allow yourself to feel motivated and know your why. Why do you want to feel motivated? In order to be motivated, you must allow yourself to feel motivated.

So today I will talk about 4 ways you can start to feel motivated.

  1. Have a positive mindset and know your why

In order to be motivated, you must know your why. What is your plan? What do you want to achieve? By knowing your why, you can focus your goals and create a positive mindset to achieve them. It could be as simple as waking up each morning and setting a positive intention or goal. For me, my why is inspiring others to feel good. Each morning I wake up knowing my why, which sets out my day in a feel good way.

  1. Seek inspiration from others

I have plenty of people I look to for inspiration. I often just jump online and listen to an inspiring YouTube video to help me find motivation for the day, some of my favourites are Preston Smiles and Gabrielle Bernstein. You could also work with a coach to help inspire you. Whatever it is, seeking inspiration from others is a great way to help keep you motivated.

  1. Seeing the progress of your work

'It's in the doing... where the done, will be done!' The progress I see when I am doing my work motivates me to do more work. Seeing progress in what I am working on everyday and seeing that I am making a difference, motivates me to continue to do more.

  1. Having thankfulness and gratitude

Reflect on your life or your work and have gratitude. What are you grateful for? Being thankful and having gratitude can help motivate you and lift your positive energy. By recognizing all the positive blessings in your life, it can naturally motivate yourself.

Think about... What are you grateful for in the last 24 hours, then think about, what are you grateful for in the last 7 days and then what are you grateful for in the last 90 minutes.

To finish up today's Feel Good Thought, what are you grateful for right now?

I would love to hear what you are grateful for, tweet me @FeelGoodJoey your gratitude and remember to hashtag #feelgoodthoughts

Light and happiness,

Joey

Goodafternoon,

Today I want to share with you some Feel Good Thoughts around peace and tranquility.

Just like the waves of the ocean our thoughts come and they go, they flow in and they flow out. To feel a sense of inner peace it is important to take some time out each day to slow down the body and mind and seek moments of solitude.

For me I seek these moments of stillness through my meditation practice and seek peace through yoga practice. For each person it is different, for some it may be going for a walk in silence and being amongst nature, whatever moments of stillness, peace and tranquility you choose, taking moments of stillness each day assists with decreasing stress and provides a space for inner peace and clarity.

How will you seek some peace and tranquility for you today?

Light and happiness,

Joey

Welcome back,

Today I am going to share with you some Feel Good Thoughts around letting the light shine.

It is important to allow ourself to have;

Positive thoughts

Loving thoughts

Gratitude

Mindfulness

When we are able to see the positivity and beauty that surrounds us daily, we are able to let the light shine within.

To help with allowing the light to shine and to feel good, you can try by starting the day a little earlier in the morning and setting some time out for reflection and gratitude practice.

When we take time out to reflect and feel gratitude for the blessings you have in your life, this helps us to feel more happy. A beautiful quote from Shakti Gawain describes this perfectly, it is;

'The more light you allow within you, the brighter the world you live in will be'

What will you do today to let your light shine? Share below.

Light and happiness,

Joey

Hi Everyone,

Today's podcast focuses on a Feel Good Thought around having confidence with conversations. If you have ever felt shy in a group environment or perhaps hesitant to approach others, then this podcast is for you.

The most important part of approaching others is to open your heart and mind and ignite your confidence within. Once you connect with others, the fear of approaching them disappears.

Approaching others is quite simple and even though you may not believe it, you do have the confidence to start the conversation. In fact, you've probably done it multiple times already. For every person in your life, you have had a 'first conversation' with and it is important to realise that when approaching new people now is no different.

At any party or conference, if you are nervous to approach others, chances are, so are they. So find the confidence within to take the first step and say hello. Once you say hello, the rest is easy as the conversation will begin to flow. A simple 'Hi how are you?' can open the doors to so many opportunities and amazing friendships. My best friend today all started with those simple 4 words two years ago at Awesomeness Fest.

So open your mind, release any fear of approaching others and ignite your inner confidence. Step forward and simply say hello, you never know what may come of it.

Tune into the podcast by pressing play below to hear more about confidence with conversations.

Have a beautiful day,

Ola,

Today I am excited to share with you a Feel Good Thoughts Podcast from the beautiful Costa Rica, where I was at a conference called Awesomeness Fest.

I loved the positive energy and attitude from everyone there at Awesomeness Fest and there was also many inspiring speakers including Lisa Nichols, who is known for motivating the masses and was also seen on "The Secret".

In her presentation, she spoke about the phrase "Yes, Yes!" The first YES is to yourself, and the second YES is to the assignment in your life. And today I want to share with you on my podcast more thoughts around saying YES!

The idea of "Yes Yes!" is about stepping forward and taking action everyday to make your dream come true. Whether its saying yes to a dream, or deciding what you want to do or who you want to impact. When we commit to making that positive change by saying "Yes, Yes"! the simple phrase brings you back to the present now and is a beautiful reminder that at the end of the day, you are the only one that can make things happen.

You may have role models and inspirations, but you must say YES to yourself... if you want to achieve your goals.

You can do this! SAY YES,

Joey

Goodmorning,

Today's feel good thought is...

'It's important to honor the now'

When was the last time you said 'right here, right now, I am having the BEST time?'

Today's Feel Good Thought is about remembering to honor the now. The experiences which we have had in the past really help us to grow; the experiences which are to come can help us with vision and may give us some hope BUT the experiences we have right now, we should have gratitude, love and honor for these present moments.

Each day we build foundations of what makes us feel good and what brings us happiness and these foundations are where our emotions are shaped with how we feel right now.

So rather then think about how it use to be or how you want it to be, try to think more about the present moment that we have right now and enjoy the present - this gift!

Have a beautiful day,

Joey

Goodmorning,

I am feeling so energized and inspired from the Awesomeness Fest Conference this week and am excited to share with you today a chat on my podcast show with an Impacteur and all round awesome person, Franziska Iseli.

What is an Impacteur?

An Impacteur is someone who wants to make a difference, someone who loves having a positive impact on society and their environment, someone who is challenging the norm and likes doing things a bit differently, someone who loves, gives and leads.

And today, Franziska is going to share some Feel Good Thoughts around How to be an impacteur? and how to make a positive impact on the world. She reminds us about how making a difference can be quite simple, whether it's writing a note to a waiter or smiling at a stranger.

Whatever it is, you never know just how far your positive energy can go. As a random act of kindness, Franziska shares about how she recently paid enough bus fair for herself as well as the next customer's fair. The driver politely turned down her money and let her ride the bus for free.

How refreshing is it that one small act can spread like wildfire?

You too can make a positive impact by focusing on others, rather than yourself. One small act can be quite powerful; a simple compliment can make someone's day and inspire them to pay it forward.

So join the 1o Day Impacteurs Challenge starting today and let's make an impact on someone's life everyday for the next 10 days. I will be posting pictures on my Instagram @FeelGoodJoey daily sharing what I do to be a impacteur and you can join in too, just remember to hashtag #impacteurs

After the challenge, making an impact will surely become a way of life.

ALOHA!

Greetings from Waikiki Beach.

As I sit here enjoying the beautiful weather and view of the ocean, I cannot help but think just how important it is to have ‘me time’.

Yes - me time. The most important 'to do' that most of us put at the bottom of our list. Please do not forget how vital it is to nourish yourself. In order to serve others and be the best version of yourself, you need to take care of yourself.

Recently, I spent 3 days alone in Tropical North Queensland where I spent my time meditating, swimming, reading, writing and practicing yoga. This solo retreat rejuvenated my mind, body and soul and allowed me to come back refreshed and ready to serve others.

You may not have time for a trip but do not feel selfish taking a few moments out of your day to spend time with yourself. Alone time allows nourishment, time with your own thoughts, and the chance to find inner peace.

How can we find moments of ‘me time’ in the day?

Wake up earlier in the morning before everyone else in the house wakes up

Take some time out on your lunchbreak to go outside for a couple of minutes of ‘me time’

Schedule in ‘me time’ on your calender like you would schedule in a important business meeting. Make it a priority in your day to nourish you.

Why is ‘me time’ is so important?

It is nurturing and nourishing for you

Allows you to take the time with your own thoughts and time for just you, to think and breathe

Provides you with time for you seek inner peace and feel good

How will you seek some me time today?

Remember that when you feel your cup with more love, light and happiness you are able to serve others and be the best version of you.

Listen to the Feel Good Thoughts Podcast #13 - 'Me Time', to hear more about the importance of solitude.

"Open the mind to greater possibilities"

It's time to think BIG... when we open the mind to greater possibilities it makes it much easier to think and dream big!

Today I want to share with you how you can allow yourself to open the mind to greater possibilities through creating your own manifesto.

What is a manifesto?

It is a mission and values which are focused around your dreams and desires.

I recently sat down to write my own personal manifesto and I thought about an holistic approach, covering all areas of my life including goals, intentions and desires around;

  • family

  • career

  • financial

  • health and wellness

  • travel and adventure

  • social life and friendships

When I thought about these areas in my life, I thought about what I wanted to achieve in next 3 yrs then I expanded my mind to think bigger into the next 30yrs!

At first I found it a little challenging because I haven't really thought about anything past the next five years really, so to think about the next 30years was a great way to think big and expand my mind with larger long term goals and aspirations.

In today's podcast I share some more about this. Tune in below.

Have a great day.

Light and happiness,

Joey

This morning I started the day with a beautiful guided meditation and it spoke about crafting your perfect day today and about how to visualise and think about what you need to do in order to have a great day.

And after the meditation practice I thought, in order to craft the perfect day then we really need to start the day with positive intentions and a positive mindset.

Being Monday, I sometimes feel there is a stigma around Monday like 'Mondayitis', and the feeling of 'dreading Monday'. So, today I want to share with you, ways in which you can surrender to any negative thoughts or lower level energies around Monday and instead embrace positivity to start a fresh new week.

Today's Affirmation... I am allowing myself to embrace a Feel Good Monday

Surrender to the thoughts of ‘oh its Monday morning’ and instead set yourself up for the most awesome day ahead by setting positive intentions and goals for the day. Start the day with words like "I am allowing today to be a great day"

As a follow up from Saturday's blog and in the Feel Good Thoughts Podcast #7 I discuss the importance of using words and positive affirmations such as 'I am allowing...' followed by how you will allow yourself to have a great day today.

It's time to surrender and let go to the feelings of 'Mondayitis' and instead be in the flow of ‘I LOVE Monday’ by simply changing the mindset and energy shift to positivity.

10 Ways To LOVE Monday and start the week Feeling Good?

  1. Monday is the beginning of a new week, which means just like a canvas you have a clean slate to paint

  2. Opportunity to start fresh

  3. Feel rejuvenated from the weekend

  4. Think Positive Thoughts and surrender to Mondayitis thoughts

  5. Start the day with gratitude by appreciating all that you have

  6. Set intentions for the day

  7. Visualise what you want to achieve today

  8. Ask the question 'What are my goals today and how will I achieve them?'

  9. Allow positive thoughts to lead the way today

  10. Reconnect with work colleagues and clients.

Tune into today's Feel Good Thoughts Podcast #8 'No More Mondayitis' to hear more about how you can start your Monday feeling good.

Have a great day,

Joey

Life continues to provide us with lessons. Today I was tested with 'finding the silver lining' in what some would say is just 'bad luck'.

I was pulling up at work and I heard a shhhhh noise, yup... it was the sound of a flat tyre!! However in my situation today I thought it wasn't bad luck that I had a flat tyre but instead I was lucky.

WHY? You may be thinking...

Well, I was lucky because;

✔ Flat tyre happened just outside my office

✔ It happened in a place where there was no traffic

✔ I walked into my office and my team members offered to help me change the tyre

✔ I then had one of my team members Tim ask me to get the "lock nut" out of the boot, I looked at him with a blank look on my face and said "Um...yeh I'm not sure what that is?" So... Today I learnt something new (the importance of the lock nut for when you are changing a tyre)

✔ Tim gave me tips in changing a European car tyre (there are some tricky components to those wheels) and I now feel confident to change the tyre alone if this ever happens again

✔ When you turn a negative or unlucky situation into a positive you realise that there are always solutions & with a positive approach it can be solved smoothly.

So, next time you may think you're unlucky, change the mindset to "what luck or positive experience will come out of this situation?"

In life situations can be negative or unlucky but we have a choice in how we want to respond in regards to the situation. You can change a negative situation in to a positive by changing the mindset. If you can go into a situation with a positive approach it can help with solving the problem a little smoother.

I hope you like today's blog and listen into the Feel Good Thoughts Podcast #6 below or on iTunes to hear about my flat tyre experience.

Have a great weekend,

Joey

Goodafternoon friends,

Recently, I was out and about when I had a thought about friendships and flow that I really wanted to share with you. So, I grabbed my iphone and recorded the thought straight away, (excuse the traffic surrounding me, ops!) but whilst the thought was really fresh in my mind, I had to share it.

You can click on the play button below to listen to the short Feel Good Thoughts Podcast about Friendships and Flow. In this podcast I share the following thoughts;

  1. Surround yourself with friends who are on the same page as you.

  2. What kind of flow are you in right now?

  3. Think about the five friends that you spend the most time with in your life. Find out why those 5 closest friends that you hang around are important in your life.

  4. Learn about why it is OK to let go of old friendships, in order to open the door for new friendships who are now more in your flow.

'Open the door, mind and heart to new friendships with people

who are now in your flow'

  1. Remember to choose your friends wisely and consider that the people you hang around is most likely the energy flow and direction you will go.

If you enjoy the Feel Good Thoughts Podcast, ensure to send me a tweet @FeelGoodJoey with a question you would like me to answer in one of the podcasts. Or leave a comment below.
