And it only took him winning four elections in two years to do it. At the same time, he dealt a strong rebuke to Donald Trump, whose hand-picked candidate lost after a series of gaffes and controversies plagued his campaign.
For the first time in our nation's history, a member of a Native American trive is confirmed as the new Interior Secretary. President Joe Biden now has 18 cabinet members confirmed. The Ohio attorney general sues to block part of the covid relief bill because he wants to use it to cover the shortfall created by Trump's tax cuts. And there's news about Chuck Grassley and Moscow Mitch.
The American Recovery Act, complete with $1400 checks for many Americans, has passed without any GOP support, although at least one GOP Senator is taking credit for it. Colorado's ultra-right-wing Rep, Lauren Boebert has a new ad (complete with gunshot) and a new opponent. Apaches are about to lose some of their sacred land to a foreign company and another GOP senator will not seek re-election.
G and D discuss the 2021 Conservative Political Action Conference stage that was designed to mimic a Nazi symbol. The Odal Rune (see photo) was used by the Nazis in stead of the Swastika. The fallout continues for Ted "Cancun" Cruz amid the severe cold snap that crippled Texas recently. Sen. Joe Mancin opposes one of President Biden's nominees but had nothing but praise for Jeff Sessions and Bill Barr when they were up for a vote. And, he's back -- Trump to speak at CPAC.
