The paranormal is woven into our nation’s cultural fabric. Stories of ghosts, demons, witches, terrifying creatures, zombies, and UFO encounters have been told around campfires and in pop culture for generations. But what if these stories are more than cultural creations and have more root in fact than fiction? The Paranormal States of America will be taking a state by state look at the paranormal in America, showing that the terror of these stories is real and right in your backyard. For Halloween, I wanted to present something a bit different than my normal look at the paranormal in each state. Edgar Allan Poe has many ties to Virginia and Maryland and to honor his legacy of being the grandfather of the paranormal and macabre in American literature, I'm presenting a reading of one of his most well known works: The Raven.

Maryland has a lot of locations that are rumored to be haunted. These are 5 locations that I found to be the most interesting: A hotel and historic ship in Baltimore, an Inn in Annapolis, a lighthouse in Southern Maryland, and a unique house in Frederick.
