Browns fans are thankful for a liver for Bernie Kosar and hope in the form of Shedeur. Bad teams look at Mike Vrabel and Ben Johnson to give them hope. Last week, Fans of the Lions, Chiefs and Texans kept hope alive while the Cowboys, Rams, Ravens and 49ers gave thanks for good trends on the field. #LFG

4 plays into the season and the NY Jets lost their new star QB Aaron Rodgers to a serious Achilles Tendon injury. You cannot make this stuff up. And this host has told many jokes at the expense of the J-E-T-S. Even I feel bad for this team and fan base. However, next time instead of loading up on pass catchers, sign some pass protectors. Those big, fast and strong guys who protect your QB. Big, fast and strong guys falling on your 35+ old QB is not ideal. And the Jets learned that Monday night. Credit the team led by Coach Robert Saleh and YES Zach Wilson for railing under difficult circumstances.

Team 126 did good- no actually GREAT- when you consider this team was picked 9th in the league and stood at 17-14 (2-8 in the ACC) at 31 games. The Tigers blew it up in the 2nd half, winning 17 straight and the ACC tournament championship. The nation noticed and Clemson was a Regional Host in the College World Series. Only a late 2 out rally by a super talented Tennessee team prevented The Tigers from doing more damage. As tough as the loss was--and it WAS----the future is bright for Clemson Baseball under the direction of Head Coach Erik Bakich and his tremendous staff. #GoTigers #LFG
The 2023 Michigan Baseball season was a year of transition as Coach Tracy Smith took over under difficult circumstances yet we leave the year with some good trends. Several of the younger players developed and the new coaching staff has adjusted well to the Midwest and Big Ten. Much work is needed in the offseason with both recruiting and the transfer portal the life of all college sports but I remain confident in this group heading forward. #LFG

The Matchup is set as the Chiefs and Eagles advanced to Super Bowl LVII. The Bengals put up a massive fight but made too many mistakes and KC has Patrick Mahomes. Injuries to QBs finally became the death nail for a talented 9ers team as they literally had position players taking snaps in the 2nd half. Hall of Fame QB Steve Young tweeted he was warming up in the parking lot. #8 would have been an upgrade. The Eagles are just too good a team to face with such a compromised QB situation.
The NFL Final Four is set and we have two great matchups. The 49ers will travel to Philly to battle the Eagles in the NFC while the Bengals face off with the Chiefs at Arrowhead in the AFC . We break down how we got here and what should be a highly entertaining Championship Sunday. #LFG

Dallas and the 49ers made major statements and Derek Carr might have saved the Raiders again. The Patriots and Jets where headed to overtime Sunday and a funny thing happened: The Jets decided to JET. In a decision that rivals picking a fight with Mike Tyson, the Jets coaches PUNTED (to a rookie returner who ran back 7 kicks for TDs in college) in the final seconds of regulation. Their next choice was how to try to block the Pats extra point attempt. SMH.
The NFL is crazy and we continue to see proof weekly. Kirk Cousins beating Josh Allen, The Lions rallying for a huge win and Aaron Rodgers (and his team) are not dead, just some of the headlines of week 10. Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins are scary dangerous and both Mike Vrabel and Ron Rivera can really, really coach. Josh McDaniels? Cannot. And we have BREAKING News: Mr. ND Suh has signed with Howie Roseman and the Eagles. #LFG
The trip to Germany was a huge success-- on and off the field-- as the fans in Munich did an amazing job. Meanwhile, the Bucs picked a great time to play their best game of the season. The offense ran the ball and Tom Brady completed passes to 8 different players. Rachaad White took over for a banged up Leonard Fournette (Rushing TD) and Tampa had a season high 44 carries for 161 yards. The defense did what they do-- they stunned and stopped an explosive Seattle run game, led by star rookie Kenneth Walker III. The red hot Bucs enter the Bye week at .500 and are in 1st place in the NFC South.
The NFL gets a schedule break with the sudden rise of a strong Seattle Seahawks club, which has turned this Munich game into one of the more interesting NFL games of week 10. The Bucs are healthy for November and need to maintain the emotion of the last weeks season saving victory. Seattle has Geno Smith playing elite football while Kenneth Walker, DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett are as good a skill position unit as the Bucs will see. The Seahawks D is not a bunch of big names but Uchenna Nwosu #10 stands out and makes plays all over the defensive front. This is a huge game for Tampa and their post season hopes. #LFG

The Eagles are good. So is Patrick Mahomes. Mike Vrabel can coach. The Dolphins and Bears likely have ended their long searches for answers under center. And The Jets THE JETS beat the Mighty Bills. (One of these is not like the other) Meanwhile, young/up and coming teams in Detroit and Jacksonville won late ,exciting games. The NFL is many things... boring is not one of them.
With 44 seconds remaining, Fans in Tampa learned a very valuable lesson Sunday: No matter how bad things look, if u have Tom Brady in the building? It is never that bad. The Rams found that out too as #12 led a furious rally capped by rookie TE Cade Otton's GW TD in the final seconds. The entire team-led by the defense and amazing performance by 1st year Punter Jake Camarda- played a role in this win. Hell, the crowd was great. The potential season saving win puts Tampa at 4-5 as we travel overseas to face a tough Seattle Seahawks team in Germany this week. #LFG
Two slumping teams with big goals and players face off Sunday in Tampa. The last two defending Super Bowl Champions square off as the Bucs host the Rams. The Rams have faced a Super Bowl hang over plus lots of injuries and inconsistency. Meanwhile, the reigning NFC South Champs are starting to get some players back from injury and hope to get back on the winning side of things. Neither club has had much success running the ball so this will likely come down to Matthew Stafford vs Tom Brady. #LFG
What was been a crazy NFL season somewhat settled down in week 8 but.. then the Ja'marr Chase injury news tanked the Bengals and the Browns boatraced them on National TV. Meanwhile, Geno Smith and Seattle continues to play great football, The Jets will always be the Jets and Kyle Shanahan OWNS Sean McVay. All this in NFL review. Week 8. #LFG

Tonight's game preview..................The suddenly slumping Bucs face a strong Baltimore Ravens team on Thursday Night Football. Lamar Jackson and friends are a tough, physical bunch that makes u show up or get run out. Tampa will need to step up and eliminate the mental errors/poor plays that have plagued the squad over the last 2 weeks. #LFG
The NFL continues to show weekly why they are king. Yes-- The Chiefs are real good. Ask the 49ers. But the Bears went into Foxboro and smoked the Patriots. The Commanders beat the Packers and the Giants continue to win close games under 1st yr Head Coach Brian Daboll. Hell, even the Jets-- THE JETS-- are winning. A long ,strange week for the Bucs and the NFL. The team hopes to redeem themselves after the awful loss to the Steelers last Sunday. Meanwhile, the Panthers traded superstar running back Christian McCaffrey Late Thursday night. We cover both the game and this major trade in this edition of Bucs Preview.
Week 6 showed us lots of the same ( Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes are real good) with some new sprinkling in ( The NY Jets, Bailey Zappe and.. Geno Smith!!). Teams are starting to separate and distance themselves from others in the playoff chase. Meanwhile, Brian Daboll and his NY Giants squad continue to find ways to win and keep the heat on the top team in the NFC, The Philadelphia Eagles. #LFG
For those of you who want to hear what Beav is like after a BAD loss, this is your podcast. BAD losses are defined by The Team doing things they control (Preparation, effort, playing smart, discipline , play calling,etc) well. The Bucs did none, NONE of these at an acceptable level. This performance was sub standard and an example of why you must show up and compete. Every down and every play. Because if you don't, THIS happens. I don't know OR CARE who we play next week. I know if Tampa does not fix these problems, we won't win 2 more games all yr. This game was a disgrace. Corrections begin and end with me and the QB. That starts now.
The Buccaneers travel to the Steel City Sunday to face a true glamour franchise- The Pittsburgh Steelers. Mike Tomlin's team is struggling and now heavily injured with 6 key defenders including superstar pass rusher and defending NFL defensive player of the year TJ Watt missing this game. The team is trying to break in rookie QB Kenny Pickett behind a porous OL and ineffective run game. The Steelers are a shadow of what they have been and it is imperative that the Bucs come out fast and keep them there.
The showed why it is King last weekend with some incredible games by young star QBs in divisional showdowns. Mahomes, Carr, Lamar and Burrow did not disappoint. Dallas continues to perform for Mike McCarthy and Cooper Rush. Meanwhile, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles continue to play elite team ball. And the Detroit Lions continue to show why they are.. The Bucs played a clean game and built a 3 score lead before the Falcons made it interesting Sunday at Raymond James Stadium. Leonard Fournette and Tom Brady led the offense while rookies Cade Otten, Logan Hall and Rachaad White continued to step up and contribute. The win puts Tampa at 3-2 as they travel Sunday to face a slumping Steelers team in Pittsburgh.
Week 5 is here and the Bucs host the Atlanta Falcons for 1st place in the NFC South. Both teams have major injuries with Atlanta down 6 starters and Tampa minus 3. Tom Brady and his receivers started to get some rapport and reps as players returned from injury. The defense had a rare rough night and looks to rebound vs a run heavy Atlanta attack. #LFG
The Major League Baseball post season is here..and.... Beav's Mets are one of the better teams in the tournament. Led by Pete Alonso, Francisco Lindor, Starling Marte and ML Batting champ Jeff McNeil, this is a very dangerous field team. Max Scherzer, Jacob deGrom, Chris Bassitt, Adam Ottavino and Edwin Diaz lead a pitching staff that is among the tops in the game. NY starts a best of 3 series vs the San Diego Padres tonight at CitiField. #LGM
Cooper Rush and Jimmy Garoppolo stole headlines in week 4 while the usual suspects of Josh Allen, Joe Burrow and Aaron Rodgers led their teams to important wins. The etroit Lions have no "D" and The New York Jets scored a GW TD as time expired to hand the Pittsburgh Steelers a brutal loss. Meanwhile. Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles continue to maul people and look like a serious Super Bowl contender. Week 5 has a tough act to follow. #LFG
The Bucs stumbled out of the gates early and a valiant comeback by Tom Brady, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and friends came up short as the visiting Chiefs rode the spectacular talents of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce to a 41-31 win. Tampa made several key mistakes and their top rated defense struggled in space and vs the run, as KC moved the ball at will all night. The Bucs seemed to figure things out offensively with the influx of returnees in the passing game plus the OL settling in. Credit The Chiefs and Andy Reid with a great game plan and performance. All is not lost. Tampa is 2-2 and tied for 1st place with Atlanta, who visits Raymond James this week.
The Greater Tampa area was spared much of the punishment from Hurricane Ian so the Bucs can put some smiles on their fans and the citizens of Florida on Sunday Night Football. The Chiefs ,led by Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes, provide a formidable opponent and will try to send the crowd home with a frown. These two teams provided two of the better games of the 2020 season including the Bucs pounding Kansas City into the submission and preventing them from repeating in the Super Bowl. Both teams have very good defenses while their offenses especially the wide receiver units are dealing with injury and new faces. This figures to be a final possession game and should keep folks glued to their seats. #LFG
We are 3 weeks into the NFL season and we see craziness every weekend. Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Tom Brady and Justin Herbert all lost this week. We had an actual 11-10 final. (Sorry, Kathy!) And we continue to see QBs taken down by injury. Meanwhile, surprise teams in Jacksonville and Philadelphia are off to promising starts. The Green Bay Packers withstood a ferocious late rally by Tom Brady and the Bucs to hold on to a big 14-12 Sunday at Raymond James Stadium. The difference in the game was a failed two point conversion and some costly mistakes by the Bucs including two drive killing fumbles. The defense continues to play lights out and the OL is continuing to gel and perform. Several pass catchers stepped in to larger roles led by Russell Gage and newbies like Cole Beasley and Kyle Rudolph made their 1st contributions. Tampa lost the battle but hopes to win the war. The next battle is on Sunday Night Football vs a powerhouse Kansas City team. The same team the Bucs destroyed in 2020 Super Bowl at... Raymond James Stadium. #LFG
The 2-0 Buccaneers host rival Green Bay this Sunday in America's Game of the Week. Green Bay is now a defensive oriented run team that has surrounded Aaron Rodgers with reboots and question marks at WR. Meanwhile, Tampa has a battered and bruised passing game which is further weakened due to Mike Evans' insane suspension by the league. The Bucs Defense has to show up big while Tom Brady and the offense figure out who is where and what to do. #LFG

The Mets have clinched a postseason berth and maintain a slim lead over the defending World Series Atlanta Braves in the NL East. The Tampa Bay Bucs rode their defense and made Jameis Winston make enough mistakes as the Bucs pulled away late to win 20-10. Jamel Dean picked off two passes while Mike "Pick 6" Edwards ran one back for the clinching TD. Offensively neither team did much but Leonard Fournette, Mike Evans and Breshad Perriman stood out. Evans was ejected in the 2nd half after he defended Tom Brady from his archrival Marshon Lattimore. #13 has just been suspended an additional game by the NFL.
The Bucs and Saints is one of the top rivalries in the NFL and round 1 is This Sunday in New Orleans at 1 pm. Dennis Allen's squad has been Kryptonite to Tampa, winning 4 out of 5 including last years 9-0 late season win in Florida when then injured several Bucs stars. Both teams have several key players out and Tampa will have to use the formula they rode to defeat the Cowboys last week to hold 1st place: smart, efficient offense with a power run game and a ferocious, attacking defense. #LFG

The Bucs opened the season with a strong overall team performance ,winning a key road game in Dallas 19-3. Leonard Fournette had a huge evening running the ball while Tom Brady, Mike Evans and Julio Jones played like the Hall of Famers they are. Defensively, Todd Bowles is now our Head Coach but his old unit and coaches dominated an over matched and injured Cowboys offense. The win was costly however for Tampa as both Donovan Smith (elbow) and Chris Godwin (leg) went down with injuries and did not return. The Bucs road trip continues next week as we travel to New Orleans to face the hated Saints in a crucial divisional matchup. #LFG

Lots of changes and additions to the Bucs as we enter kickoff weekend. Obviously, the biggest being the retirement of Head Coach Bruce Arians and elevation of defensive coordinator Todd Bowles to the big chair. The conference still has some very good players led by names like Aaron Donald, Tom Brady, Trent Williams and Aaron Rodgers but the AFC has a huge depth of talent under center. Huge news over the weekend as NBA legend and human rights activist Bill Russell passed away at age 88. The greatest champion in the history of American team sports, Mr. Russell was the leader of the late 50s into the 60s Boston Celtics. #6 was the leader of the squads that won 11 Championships including 8 straight. He was the top defender/ rebounder in the sport while jump starting the famous Celtics fast break. Mr. Russell was much more than a basketball player, he fought racism and for civil rights from coast to coast. He was a Giant on and off the court. #RIP

Awful news in Michigan in the last 24 hrs. Former Football coach Gary Moeller passed away after battling an illness. He was 81. Mo worked 21 yrs for The Wolverines and was equally adept on both sides of the ball. Beav tries to do his old boss justice and explain why he was both so popular and important to the history of Michigan Football. RIP Mo... We all love you. #RIP
Beav goes home to Andover and......................(strange things happen). Yes. Los Angeles has moved to the Mid West (East for them!). In a stunning turn of events, The two So Cal programs have defected to the Big Ten and will start conference play in 2024. This move (almost a yr after Oklahoma and Texas bolted the Big 12 for the SEC) sent shock waves all around the sports world. We try to break it down and explain with our own "crystal ball". Michigan's amazing post season run ended Monday as the Louisville Cardinals and the umpires became too much to overcome. The Wolverines battled hard all weekend and where in position to advance but a terrible strike zone and instant replay review did them in. Team 156 made us all proud and many thanks to the seniors and all potential MLB picks in the July draft. This is a fun group and all of them made going to the park enjoyable. Team156 did it... they won the Big Ten tourney as the 5 seed, securing an automatic bid to the College World Series. An incredible job by an incredible group of young men, coaches and staff. The Wolverines are post season bound after winning 3 straight home games last week at Ray Fisher Stadium. The bats came alive and back to back home runs by Clark Elliot and Joe Stewart set the tone in the opener of the Rutgers series. Today the Big Ten kicks off their annual Conference Tourney in Omaha, Nebraska. Harsh weather delayed all games Wednesday but a better forecast awaits the 8 qualifying teams at the newly renamed Charles Schwab Field Omaha (Formerly TD Ameritrade Omaha). Day 1 of the NFL draft is complete. We saw a huge run on edge rushers and wide receivers while the big time Offensive linemen all went early as well. A weak high end QB class saw only 1 selected... and he has small hands. Tonight we will see a run on Linebackers and running backs in the 2nd and 3rd rounds as well as defensive backs. #LFG
The best weekend of the off season is here....The NFL draft kicks off tonight! This selection show lacks big name signal callers but is loaded with pass rushers, general defensive help and several starting level wide outs. Adding to the festivities is the host city: Las Vegas. The Wolverines were one out away from an important sweep in front of a packed house Sunday but the final out proved to be elusive and the rival Buckeyes stole the game. The Late loss does not take away from a great weekend that saw heroics from C Jimmy Obertop (Game tying 2 out 9th inning homer Friday), CF Joe Stewart (3 Home runs including Back to back Grand Slams with 11 rbi Saturday) and RF Clark Elliott ( Game winning hit in extras Friday). The team continues to catch the ball with Matt Frey leading the way at 3B. Meanwhile, Starting pitchers Cam Weston, Chase Allen and Connor O'Halloran are leading the way while Jacob Denner and Noah Rennard are closing out games. Michigan continues to win series and remains alive to capture the Big 10 Championship.
The Michigan Baseball team had a tremendous weekend, sweeping the rival Michigan State Spartans in East Lansing over 3 games. The Wolverines hit for power (Clark Elliot 3 HRs in Game 1 alone), played great defensively and pitched all series. MSU's program also hit an all time low as they hit ex Spartan Joe Stewart in the head in his 1st at bat Friday night. That will be addressed in this podcast. #AdultLanguage

Michigan Baseball had a historic weekend and took 3 out of 4 games over the last 7 days. The 4 time national champion Cal State Fullerton Titans traveled to Ray Fisher for a 3 game series. Michigan took all 3 and the good news is all the wins happened in different ways. Game 1 was a 2-1 defensive battle won by a late home run by 3B Matt Frey. The Wolverines then rolled Saturday in game 2 8-2 to set up a big Sunday finale. Michigan rallied from a early 6-3 deficit to walk off the Titans in the 9th. #LFG
Michigan Baseball has hit a rough patch over the past week or so, losing 3 of 4 at home. The good news? The Pitching has stepped up and put the team in a position to win. The Bad? The entire offense is slumping, totaling 25 hits in 4 games. However, this is a HUGE weekend for the program. The historic Cal State Fullerton Titans are taking a mid season road trip to Ann Arbor/Ray Fisher Stadium. The Wolverines lost a tough game at Nebraska but rallied to win game 2 and then took the series Sunday to kick off the league schedule. The offense was dominant and everyone contributed. Matt Frey, Jimmy Obertop, Ted Burton and Tito Flores all had weekends and made history. In Friday night's game, they hit four consecutive home runs. A new Big Ten Record. Michigan faces the Iowa Hawkeyes starting today at the Fish to kick off the home portion of the conference schedule. #LFG

Michigan has faced a gauntlet in the non conference slate and has a top 25 schedule. Hopefully , the payoff starts this week as the Wolverines open the Big Ten season in Lincoln, Nebraska vs the defending conference champion Cornhuskers. The next 2,3 weeks will tell us a lot about this team and what the postseason should look like. #LFG

Michigan has ended the preseason portion of our season and opens the home slate today and throughout the weekend. The ship took on some water in Louisville and Vanderbilt but it is always darkest before the dawn. This team can hit and just needs more consistency on the mound. Weather, travel issues and youth have combined to be factors. But I am 100% confident this group will figure it out and we will contend for the Big Ten Championship.

The 2004 New England Patriots are the last legitimate dynasty in the sport. Winning 3 Super Bowls in 4 yrs and being so good the league changed rules to help teams beat you, the 04 team was both the beginning and end for this era. Yes... The Patriots were a dynasty. But the NFL is the great equalizer. A true cap league, draft picks go to teams with lesser records, your players want to get paid,etc. This was a tremendous group and slowly but surely, many of the stars and familiar names off this team left or retired. The 2004 team was also the best team of the Brady/Belichick era.
In Part two of our 7 part Super Bowl Champions series, we discuss the 2003 Patriots. After the incredible run by the 2001 team, the 2002 Pats were eliminated in the final minutes of the regular season. On the 5th tiebreaker. Bill Belichick added some key parts including Safety Rodney Harrison and Edge defender Roosevelt Colvin in the offseason, The 2003 team is important for two reasons: This Title legitimized the 2001 Championship and ,more importantly, started the run of the last back to back Super Bowl winners in league history.

To say this was a huge night for Beav's World is like saying Christmas is important for Santa and the Elves. EJ Perry played like an NFL starting QB and was MVP of the Senior Bowl Thursday night. He led a furious 4th quarter comeback and stole the show. The commentators had him winning the award with about 5 minutes left.
