Global Slovakia’s core principle is that of unity in diversity. Slovak know-how is of tremendous value to the world that finds itself at the abyss of renewed geopolitical divides. Global Slovakia is dedicated to domestic and international initiatives that spotlight the remarkable knowledge and experience from the resilient heart of Europe.
V roku 2004 Európska únia otvorila hranice krajinám spoza bývalej Železnej opony. Od toho momentu viac ako sto miliónov občanov získalo bezvízový prístup na západ. To, čo znamenalo nepredstaviteľný sen iba pre jednu generáciu dozadu, sa stalo našou každodennou realitou. Zuzana Palovic je rodená Bratislavčanka, ktorá vyrastala v Kanade. Ako dieťa emigrantov strávila väčšinu života znovunapájaním sa na svoju rodnú zem. Napísala knihu v angličtine s názvom The Great Return alebo Veľký návrat o sebe a o tých, ktorí odišli, podstúpili premenu a vrátili sa, aby zdieľali svoje príbehy. Redaktorku Evu Kopeckú zaujímalo, prečo sa autorka rozhodla pustiť do tejto témy.
