Coincidence - a spaceship to release new and exciting music from artists who don't want to follow the norm - but define it.
The fifth installment of Coincidence Radio was mixed by James Demon. As a prelude to his forthcoming EP on our little label, you will obviously hear some of those tracks. But he also opted for a lot of high energy techno cuts, some EBM and well... pretty damn unexpected stuff throughout. The result: a mix full of atmosphere and eerie vibes. Absolutely lovely to drive through a dark, deserted city at night :)

Orquesm are a dutch production and deejay outfit from Amsterdam. The duo Jeffrey Bakker and Michael Ulrich started out in the early nineties, deejaying at places like the legendary Waakzaamheid club & Renaissance nights in their Homeland - The Netherlands - and played with many well known deejays in loads of clubs all over Holland.
Their three-track EP is a trip down different rhythms, vibes and moods that will certainly go down well in sets of people who like their dance music less straight forward.

Our mate from Amsterdam Tahko has been steadily working on his DJing and producer career. Consistently delivering top notch DJ sets and working hard is starting to pay off and sees him slowly emerging to the next level, as they would call it. So, here's his debut EP on Coincidence: Kontrol.
The title track is a mixture of various vibes, groovy yet hard, techno but with clear nudges to a more funky, housey heritage... and even some acid creeps in between the cracks. It's a guaranteed dance floor mover for sure.
For the remix we welcome back our longtime friend and guru Tom Hades. I don't think there's much to say about the man as his resumé will speak for itself, but music speaks volumes: his remix is an absolute monster. Deep, growling stabs and a haunting vibe emerge after having deconstructed the original to the bare essentials. Absolutely in love with this one.
Label boss Psytox also needed to get his butt into gear and so he delivered a remix-that-turned-out-to-be-something-else. Only a MIDI-pattern survived from the original, but it resulted in a track that is hard to categorize. Elektro basslines from a Juno106 fight with a fierce 133BPM Techno tempo that mysteriously goes 'Stranger Things' in the break, pulling to a mere 20BPM and erupting into a synth anthem... only to speed up again an blasting away in an oldskool trancer that reminds a bit of older dutch work from Ignacio or Secret Cinema and alikes.
Whatever your taste might fancy: there's bound to be a version for you on this release... or just get them all.
As the year slowly turns to an inevitable end, this is also the last release for 2015 from us. It was quite a cool year, with many releases to be truly proud of and a nomination for Red Bull Elektropedia's 'Best Label 2015' as a consequence. We are honored to have Berlin based artist Anders Hellberg on producing duties for our 70th release.
Anders gave us three track which are all clearly made with a signature sound in mind: pounding yet with a deeper, dreamy quality in it. First track 'Modular Cycle' starts of pounding straight away, but slowly turns into quite a deep track. Making it a perfect example of today's techno where it's not a sin to sound less mechanical and where feelings are a-okay.
Title track 'Time' starts of with amazing pounding rhythm patterns. Brilliant stuff but once the strings and atmospheric elements kick in, that's when this track reveals its true potential. Superb track in my book.
Third track 'Convector' is a bit of a synthesis of both other tracks: the pounding dance floor quality of 'Modular Cycle' with the moody setting of 'Time'. If this was on Token or Dystopian I think you would easily imagine a reddish beard and massive tattoos while listening. You know what I mean, right? Right.
All mastered to absolute perfection by the dutch king of boomboom: Misjah at 24mastering. Enjoy. And see you in 2017 on vinyl...

Not going to lie about it: either you'll love this one, or you'll hate it. We go oldskool with a new vibe this time. Produced on our own Belgian soil by one of my oldest and dearest friends: Manone. He has been causing mayhem and destruction in the Hard Techno scene for many years and played all over Europe. For some bizarre reason he had not yet worked for us, so it was well overdue to remedy that.
The first track, "The Old Era Rises", is a weird combo meal of jacking Techno beats ( like Truncate ) with the analogue sounds like you'd find on releases like the previous Coincidence by Energun. A mean mofo indeed, holding nothing back and only for the daredevils amongst us.
"Organ Shifter" was what first got my attention, for some reason this one sounds totally like Dj Rush in my head. Sing Grind me baby, grind me baby, grind me baby to this and you'll get the idea :) The shuffle button is full on in this one. Nervous stabs build up to a Bonzai'ish break and blast off in a cloud of dust. Makin' luv.
The third piece "That's My Name" is a very oldskool sounding weird track. High stabs, distorted kicks and hihats screaming their lungs out. The belgian heritage is so apparent in this one you'd think this was a re-issue of some old Dance Opera release. You can easily get away with playing this on a retro party. Brilliant and stirring some memories of the Belgian Golden Era.
Finally we have "Charge Continuum" which sounds again a lot like Energun and that typical russian hard vibe we love. Taking a lot of twists an turns this time, a weird but hard as nails mindf... ehm... fur.
Mastered by Dimitri Andreas, who was last seen buying a truck full of fluorescent helmets and glow sticks, so I guess he went for it too.
