Typhoon Hagibis was the largest typhoon in recent years to hit Japan this past October. The typhoon caused disruptions to transportation, businesses, and damage in many areas of the country. Tokyo Disney Resort took no chances and decided to close the Parks on October 12, 2019.

Tokyo Disney Resort offers an official app for both Android and iOS devices. It's a fantastic tool that makes your time in the park much easier. The only catch is, it's only in Japanese and a lot of the functionality is only accessible if you live in Japan or can read the language. I'm finally back from my trip to the US Disney Parks after being away for over a month. Experiencing an Earthquake at Tokyo DisneySea:
- Chris shares his story about experiencing an earthquake while at the Resort
What to Do During an Earthquake:
- Tokyo Disney Resort, much like the rest of Japan, is built with safety in mind
- Cast Members will direct you as to what you should do, depending on the situation
- Announcements over the intercom will be played in English and Japanese
- Lots of hand gestures, to ensure you understand
- Stay where you are, unless told otherwise by a Cast Member
- Depending on the magnitude of the earthquake:
- Attractions and restaurants may close for a period of time
- Shows may be cancelled
- Taking the train or bus from Maihama Station will be crowded from people trying to leave
- If you have a mobile device, check Twitter and JR Websites for the latest information
- Do not panic and listen to the Cast Members
- The likelihood of a big earthquake during your visit is very minimal. You may experience small ones.
- Do not let this deter you from choosing to come to Japan. This is one of the safest counties in the world to be in if an earthquake occurs
- If you are staying at a neighbour or partner hotel your hotel bus should be running so you should not worry about getting back to your hotel.
