Get ready to laugh as The GEP host Bruce & Renee Facundus, Family Group Leaders, and Deacon/Deaconess on the Cultural Humility Team. This is by far the most we have laughed on-air as we learn the story behind their first meeting, a strange wedding dress, and how being a mixed-race couple has challenged them while serving on the team. It's a great listen.

Welcome back for the second season of The Greater Everyday Podcast. We are both refreshed and ready to go again. We begin this season by speaking about leadership. During these unprecedented times, the lack of leadership is stunning, but it has been in the works for a long time. During the pod, we speak with two leaders who are actually doing things correctly, Marcus and Alexia Thomas, and they share how their experiences have made them the leaders that they are, and how by keeping a “learners mindset” they are able to evolve with the position.
Scriptures used:
Matthew 11:11
About our guest:
Marcus and Alexia Thomas served as Potomac Valley Church’s Youth and Family ministers. Marcus comes from South Carolina and Alexia(Lexi)comes from Atlanta. Together, they have two children and have served our church for 3 years.

Tonight, Will, Tosha, and Anton invite Mark and Nadine Templer to the show to discuss their story and their convictions about everything happening in the country.
Scriptures mentioned:
Isaiah 40:29-31
About our guest:
Mark and Nadine Templer became Christians in the early 80s in the London (UK) campus ministry. Nadine was born and raised in France. Mark is half Italian and half American. The Templers got married in 1986 and immediately went to India to start the Bangalore church (they had their honeymoon in India!).
They were in the full time ministry and working for HWW for about 25 years, leading the churches in South Asia (India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, etc) and the UK. Ten years ago they made the decision to become self-supported missionaries. Mark now works as a diplomat for the US government and Nadine is Senior Director for Volunteer Corps at HOPE worldwide. Both careers allow them to travel and be posted around the world.
The Templers have five children, three biological and two adopted from India. At the beginning of August, they are moving to Kathmandu, Nepal, to support the church and HWW Nepal while continuing to work in their current jobs.

Tonight, we switch our focus to the ongoing social frustration that has been touched off by the murder of George Floyd in the twin cities. For tonight’s guest, we have Michael Burns, one of the church leaders in the Minneapolis-St. Paul Church. Michael is in the middle of the ongoing protest in Minnesota and will give us an update on the church there, things he’s done to heal and repair some of the tensions that race relations bring up, and the work that needs to be completed in the future.
Scriptures quoted: Isa 30:10
Guest Information:
Michael and MyCresha were married in 1997 in Wisconsin. Shortly after marrying they moved to Milwaukee, WI where they were invited out to church, studied the Bible with disciples, and became disciples themselves, getting baptized on the same day in 1999.
After leading the preteen ministry for several years in Milwaukee, Michael went into the full-time ministry as a campus minister and teacher, and he and MyCresha led the campus ministry there for two years. They then moved to Appleton, WI, and led the Fox Valley Church of Christ for nearly six years. In 2012, they moved to Minnesota with Michael taking on the role of teacher. As a kingdom teacher, Michael leads the Education Ministry in the MSPCC, as well as teaching in churches around the US and the world. Michael and MyCresha also lead the Singles Ministry in the MSPCC. They have two sons: Pavielle and Elijah. Michael and MyCresha currently live in Roseville.
