The rebel army is really starting to form as Kelsier had envisioned it. Everything seems to be in place; all of the people are in the places they need to be and the army's numbers are ramping up. All seems well; the army is 3 steps forwards, until a certain event places them 10 steps back. The story takes a huge turn here as the consequences are irreversible.

The previous short encounter has spiced things up quite a bit and caused quite a stir. The event makes Kelsier and the rest of the crew more cautious, which causes them to slow down to gather more intel. This gives a chance to develop characters more & give us a deeper look into the back-stories of people in the crew.

Chapters 12-15 give us some explosive action as Vin follows Kelsier on a very dangerous adventure. We also get some more historic background in these chapters, as well as a ramp up in the information provided in the epigraphs. Even though we may have gotten a lot of information, there are also plenty of questions that pop up to keep the ball rolling.
