James 1 :1-8 AMPC

1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes scattered abroad [among the Gentiles in the dispersion]: Greetings ([a]rejoice)!

2 Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations.

3 Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience.

4 But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.

5 If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of [b]the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him.

6 Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind.

1 The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack.

2 He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters.

3 He refreshes and restores my life (my self); He leads me in the paths of righteousness [uprightness and right standing with Him—not for my earning it, but] for His name’s sake.

4 Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my [brimming] cup runs over.

6 Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be my dwelling place.

📖 Mark 1:40-43

📖 Hebrews 5:8

Jesus didn’t allow the suffering to be a filter to change His view of the Father, His purpose or the people He was went to.

“Thy will be done…”

Praying these words with a pure heart (📖 Psalm 51:10-12) takes strength, humility and surrender.

Reasons why this makes my flesh squirm:

  • it wants a formula
  • it wants it when it wants it
  • fear of the unknown

God is a Father, not a formula.

❌👑 when I start trying to live my life the natural world system and not where I’m from…

❌👑when I start putting “worldly” standards of timeline, success, worth

📖 Revelation 19:16

👑 Historically, the role of the monarch was to maintain the peace of the realm, oversee the administration of justice, and to uphold the rule of law in the land.

🇬🇧 Currently, The Sovereign acts as a focus for national identity & unity…; gives a sense of stability and continuity; officially recognizes success and excellence; and supports the ideal of voluntary service.

In all these roles The Sovereign is supported by members of their immediate family. 📖 2 Corinthians 5:20 - US 🙌🏻

Seek the Lost, Encourage the Found.

The heart of the Father reflected through my life, my focus, my attention and affection in this New Year. I believe it, because it is His will and I can see it as a promise in His Word, the Bible.

Lord, may we will see the lost and bring them home to You. May we encourage and love on the "found" the brethren and to lay our lives down for all brothers & sisters in the Body of Christ.

This is what I want to see in 2023.

📖 John 11:1-45

Jesus allowed Himself to be appropriately vulnerable to display His great love.

Jesus was emotionally available to those who honored Him. (The Bible didn’t say Jesus sent praying hand emojis, HE WEPT!)

👉🏻 as all God/ all man He had limitations He willingly chose in order that His identification would become our justification, sanctification and redemption.

Jesus humbled Himself in transparency in mission and motive.📖 Luke 19:10

Jesus was “home/ a tabernacle” for those who would receive Him.

📖John 1:12-15

WE HAVE THE PRIVILEGE OF BEING “home” TO OTHERS THIS CHRISTMAS.

📖Romans 12:15

Home is a safe haven and a comfort zone.

  • A place to live with our families and enjoy with friends.
  • A place to build memories as well as a way to invest in the future.
  • A place where we can truly just be ourselves.

or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this:
that they have the understanding to know Me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness,
justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord.

❌🎉🚫The party no one should ever accept an invitation to.

  • Starts with a party of one and then sends out invites by word of mouth or social media
  • This type of invitation can act as an “alarm” or “wake up call” to where i am at in life.
  • Invitations are going out daily, even momentarily.
  • Accepting this invite would be an insult to my Dad. (Heavenly Father)
  • All humans who have ever lived have received and invite, even Jesus.
  • Doesn’t matter your social, economic, cultural or familial status.

It’s the Pity Party 😩

  • It’s a strategy of the enemy to isolate you, if not, to poison others with your hurt.
  • The enemy’s way of twisting the love and compassion of God.

What happens when we feel sorry for ourselves?

  • Blurs my vision
  • Clogs your “hearing” to the voice and Spirit of God
  • Hinders trust between you and the Father
  • Begins to form a wrong image of Christ in you…”a deformed Christ” Galatians 4:19, Romans 12:3
  • “Frustrates the grace of God” Galatians 2:21

Don’t have to feel guilty for for receiving the invitation, just don’t stay there.

  • Elijah - 1 Kings 19:1-
    • No reason to feel sorry for himself, but did.
  • Job - Job 23:8-17, 42:2-3
    • Every reason to feel sorry for himself.

They both made it because they didn’t stay there.

Your testimony is only a burden if you try to carry it yourself.

Romans 8:28

Jeremiah 15:16

📖 His Words:❤️

Restores our soul - Psalms 23:3

Nourishes our spirit - Acts 17:25

Heals your body - Proverbs 15:30

God makes temples, not trash.

2 Chronicles 3 - outward appearance

2 Chronicles 5 - the Presence comes!

1 Corinthians 3:16, 2 Corinthians 6:15-20 - - temple, not scriptures of condemnation or simply for behavior modification

God doesn’t join Himself with death. (trash) We are ONE with Him!

Part of us glorifying God with our bodies is believe what He says about is is Truth.

Ways we see we have been recreated to be God’s temple:

  • Costly - 2 Corinthians 5:17, He spent all He had
  • Handmade - (makes it so much more costly and precious) Psalms 139:13-14, Ephesians 2:10
  • Intentional Design - 1 Chronicles 28:19, 1 Corinthians 8:3

YOU ARE NOT ALONE! Everything changed when Jesus went back to heaven. He knew that His followers would be full of fear, worry, and anxiety until He explained that they were not going to have to walk out life alone. They were not being abandoned. The message is the same to believers today you are not alone, you have the Holy Spirit within you. He doesn’t come and abide within you only when you are in church or when you are feeling “spiritual” that day. He has come to live in you forever! The more we acknowledge His presence the more aware we can be of Him every moment of every day.

Jesus is THE soon coming King!

Only the True King can delegate power.

  • Luke 10:19
  • Ephesians 1:20-23

  • Jesus is King. By birth and by the empowerment from the Father, He has the ultimate and preeminent importance.

  • Jesus is coming soon. Jesus stepped in to the temporary timeline when He came, lived and rose again.

  • Jesus is coming for you and for me. Those who accept Him as Savior, Lord and King.

  • 2 Peter 3:8-9

  • Psalms 90:4
  • Revelation 22:7, 12-13, 20

“Look, I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll.”

“Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.”

Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.”

  • Matthew 25:1-13
  • Revelation 5:9

Jesus is the soon coming King and He is coming back for you and for me. So how do we become and stay ready for His return? It is for us to live our lives completely devoted and consecrated to Him!

Being ready for the return of our soon coming King means I will live life through these three points that we have looked at:

  1. Jesus is my Savior.

  2. Jesus is my Lord.

  3. Jesus is my soon coming King.

Jesus is Lord and that is an invitation to freedom to you and I today!

  • Luke 6:43 – 49 (MSG)

Jesus as Savior is the perfect sacrifice that was needed to redeem me from the sin, sickness and darkness that came into the world when Adam and Even jumped into rebellion.

Jesus as Lord is an invitation to follow a loving and kind leader, ruler and master with ultimate and final authority.

I can trust Jesus as Lord, because I know Him as Savior.

  • Romans 1:20 TPT

So now that I have experienced this process and even began to see some fruit, what is next?

Give it back to Him – Part of being a good steward of the God dream is to give it back to Him and watch Him make it more than you ever could.

“Me” is one of smallest words. I don’t me the scarcity of letters, but the shallowness of scope and vision. The only cure is to look up!

  • 1 Chronicles 29:14 AMPC
  • 1 Corinthians 15:10 MSG & AMPC

Benefits of giving your dream back to Him - multiplication:

o Greater vision

o Greater clarity

o Greater reach

Allowing God to multiply what He has already entrusted me with will take:

· Faith/trust

· Effort

o Movement towards the goal

o Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit

o Patient persistence

Ultimately, God takes the dream He gives you and multiplies it, if you will simply give it back to Him.

Armor Amor Music

God will meet you will you pull up to the table of creativity.

God has instilled creativity in all of His people.

The Process:

Pre-Production - inspiration, the idea, spending time with the Lord and it will begin to flow

Production - can be tedious, will take hard work, balance and reworking priorities to get what God put in out to be able to bless others

Post-Production - social media posts, word of mouth promotion, helps keep the momentum and excitement

All of the parts of this process are just as important as the inspiration.

Working on a creative process/project as a Christian takes faith + putting your hand to the plow, then God can multiply it far above you could ask, hope, dream or imagine.

What you don’t value is what you are in danger of losing.

Value: to consider or rate highly: honor; prize; esteem; to rate or scale in usefulness, importance, or general worth.

The opposite side of value is taking for granted; treating as common; something or someone that is around all the time so nothing is special about it/them

So Who/what should I place value on?

1. God

  • Deuteronomy 6:5 NET – “You must love [value] the Lord your God with your whole mind, your whole being, and all your strength."
  • Deuteronomy 4:39 AMPC
  • John 12:2-7 (TPT)
  • Job 23: 12 AMPC

2. People

We are most like the Father when we value His creations, made in His image and likeness.

3. Things (AKA money, opportunities, gifts and callings)

  • Ephesians 1:4-5

So what is focus? A couple of definitions are: a center of activity, attraction, or attention : a point of concentration: directed attention:  a state or condition permitting clear perception or understanding: adjustment for distinct vision

Ephesians 1:18 Mark 1:35

So what can I learn from the way Jesus stayed focused to do God’s will? · He knew the Father’s Message · He knew the Father’s Mission · He knew the Father’s Methods

Strategy: a plan of action designed to achieve a major or overall aim; forethought – careful consideration

Who thought outside of the box in the Bible:

Noah - Genesis 2 & 7

Moses - with the his father-in-law, Exodus 18

Jesus - John 3:16, Revelation 3:18

So I can see how help from strategy that comes from Godly wisdom:

  • keeps me from getting worn out and burnt out

  • allows me to pass along the message, to teach and train

  • to be more efficient with the time and resources God gave me

  • allows others to be more involved which will usually help with people becoming and staying connected with the task, ministry, etc.

So what has helped me get out of small “boxy” thinking , you might ask:

  • Meditating on the fact that I am not stuck, not limited in Christ to my background, culture, what my parents said or society calls me 2 Corinthians 5:17

  • Not letting the past define me (even the good)

  • Writing 300 things I wanted to see in 2020, taking it seriously

  • Having a 1 goal and working on that

  • Sometimes when brainstorming, draw a box and put thoughts outside of it just to get warmed up

  • Be around people with vision

o Doesn’t have to be exactly like yours

o Atmosphere for faith growing

  • James 1: 17 AMPC
  • Romans 11:29 AMPC

“For God’s gifts[dreams] and His call are irrevocable. [He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.]”

  • Luke 1: 27-38AMPC - Mary receives the dream from God
  • Luke 2:19 TPT

What can I learn from the dream Mary had in her heart:

· Came as she was found seeking the Lord in her life

· Only God could bring it to pass, but she had to be willing to accept that it was possible.

· She had to take steps to obey. (Name her son Jesus, marry Joseph)

· She had to revisit the dream to keep it alive in her heart.

So what does a dream look like to me today:

· Seek the Lord

· Be willing to see the impossible as possible

· Believe that God’s plan/purpose/gift/callings don’t change because of any circumstances

· Be ready to trust that God will bring the vision in your heart to pass

What if I feel stuck? How do I begin to dream?

· God’s Word expands your vision/horizons

  • Joshua 1:8 MSG

“And don’t for a minute let this Book of The Revelation be out of mind. Ponder and meditate on it day and night, making sure you practice everything written in it. Then you’ll get where you’re going; then you’ll succeed. Haven’t I commanded you? Strength! Courage! Don’t be timid; don’t get discouraged. God, your God, is with you every step you take.”

· Prayer with Him assures of His hand on you

  • Jeremiah 11:29
  • Hebrews 13:5

“For He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not,[I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!].”

· Be around people who “see” bigger than you

· Serve in a church/ministry that has a worldwide vision

o It’s contagious!

· Take time to write things down and revisit them

2 Chronicles 7:14 Numbers 12:1-15

Why do I not have the fear of the Lord when it comes to leaders?

1 Timothy 6:1-2 1 Samuel 24:5-6 1 Timothy 2:1-4

  1. Leaders are worthy of honor a. Not because of their skill, knowledge or ability b. Not because they make decisions to your liking c. Not even because of their character
  2. Leaders are worthy of prayers As prayers are lifted up for leaders in every office, position and place things will change. First of all, your heart will change towards them. That one way that God will heal the wounds of a nation. Most importantly as you pray for & honor leaders: a. it changes you (still does not mean you will agree 100%) b. it allows you to see change is possible c. it allows you to see others as God see them d. ULTIMATE GOAL: being able to point, lead and disciple others to Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 2:4)

Keys to Missions:

1. Be ready to learn & be flexible

For example, learning how to drive a "stick shift" car.

2. Don't over spiritualize personality or culture

Kingdom culture first

Ask: "What aspect of this culture brings life?"

3. Must develop personal relationship with God

Cannot depend on other's alone, must have a personal relationship with God. Relying on someone else's vision or charisma will only take you so far.

3a. Find people that you can pray with (builds trust)

Review of the Time Machine Manifesto - 1. Friendships matter. 2. The call killer is comparison. 3. Free”dumb” is a thing without Jesus. 4. Communicate don’t manipulate; not just saying what I think others want to hear 5. More to me than I can see, 3 part being 6. Satisfaction for “spiritual hanger” 7. Don't be afraid of the struggle

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

(Not talking about sickness, pain or disease here) A couple of struggles that I have tried to avoid in the past are: · Dealing with difficult people/co-workers · Dealing with job functions that no one likes or wants to do · Having tough conversations to develop relationships · Being vulnerable in learning something new · Embracing change · Staying put when everyone around you seems to be moving on · Having to start over, take extra time or have patience with an outcome or task (AHHHHHHH=)

Ruth 1:16-17 Ruth 2:2-3 Ruth 2:11-12 Esther 2:8 MSG Esther 2:15-17

So what can I learn from the struggle, like Ruth & Esther? 1. It may not be the obvious or popular choice. 2. It will involve some hard work. 3. It will allow me to see the blessing of where I am at today. a. To see value in staying put (loyalty) 4. It will allow God’s grace to be what shines in my life!

Sometimes it is hard to put concrete language on thoughts, feelings and ideas and the Lord knew that. So instead of disregarding the “soulish” part of us (mind, will and emotions) He gave us comparisons of what His relationship is to this unseen part of our being. He knew that every person, in every culture, in every time period would understand examples of what it is like to want and need life basics like food and water.  · Psalms 103:5 · Jobs 23:12 Spiritually hanger – an state of becoming irritable, hard to live with, overly critical, and unloving due to lack of appropriate sustenance. · Psalms 63:1, 5, 8 · Psalms 17:15 · Psalms 107:9 · Isaiah 55:1-2 · Jeremiah 31:25 · Joel 2:26 · John 4:34 · John 6:48-56 · Isaiah 26:9 · Psalms 73:25 · Revelation 7:16-17 · Revelation 21:6 -7 · Revelation 22:17b

Saying what you think other want to hear is NOT effective communication.

Manipulation is false sense of control because:

  1. Effective communication is two-sided.
  2. Control/Authority of circumstances only comes from God.
  3. Whatever you had to do to get that thing, reaction or relationship is the same you'll have to do to keep it. (so really that thing, reaction or relationship is really running your life.)

Saying or doing something to "get" some one do do something, based on what I think they should be doing, is NOT of God.

I am blessed with "pure speech" because of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, Whom I can trust 100%. His plan is the best plan!

The Time Machine Manifesto: What advice would I give myself 10 years ago?

  • Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (AMPC)
  • Amos 3:3 (MSG)
  • 1 Corinthians 15:33 (TPT)

1. Friendships Matter

· a God friendship will take effort, time and resources.

o Not always convenient timing

o Not always fun. (confrontation, apologies)

o Not one sided

· a God friendship is someone who is going the same way as you.

o You have unique and specific path God has you on.

o You will never change a person. (that is God’s job alone)

o You can be unequally yoke with believer or unbelievers.

o Jesus was able to be a Friend to sinners because of His close relationship with the Father.

· a God friendship will always lead you closer to Him.

o Makes you want to walk closer to Him

o Makes you want to please Him

o Makes you want to do what He has called you to

So what would I tell myself 10 years ago about friendship?

o You can’t be friends with everyone.

o There is a difference between general friendships and covenant friendship.

o God has friends for us in the place He has us.

o Depend on Him first.

How long to I have to wait?!?!

Today we are looking into the subject of hope. I can look at my future and smile, because I know Who is already there. I look boldly and wait humbly.

"The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to anyone who seeks help from Him." - Lamentations 3:25 GW

"But Lord, be merciful to us, for we have waited for you. Be our strong arm each day and our salvation in times of trouble." - Isaiah 33:2 NLT

" Then I will say to my soul, 'Don’t be discouraged; don’t be disturbed,

for I fully expect my Savior-God to break through for me.

Then I’ll have plenty of reasons to praise him all over again.'

Yes, living before his face is my saving grace!" - Psalms 43:5 TPT
