The rollercoaster Vuelta continues as Jay Vine had a chance to seal the King of the Mountains jersey at the Vuelta on stage 18, but a crash early in the stage forced him out of the race. Carlos Rodriguez was hurt but will continue. Remco stamps his authority on the GC claiming his second stage in the process.
Primoz Roglic shocked the Vuelta with his withdrawal prior to stage 17 eliminating a ding dong battle on GC with Remco Evenepoel. Rigoberto Uran produces a ride from the past to outride the breakaway as Lawson Craddock was valiant in defeat.
Roglic bites the dust in final 100 metres and Evenepoel punctures just inside the 3km. Conspiracy theories doubt Remco's flat. Aussie hopes are deflated when Kaden Groves and Rob Stannard flat in finale.
