Growing up Rah Podcast is the soundtrack of my life. The joints selected are the sounds I enjoyed from my path from child to adulthood. I have a lot of memories growing up so i got a lot of music to play. To keep authentic , every joint you hear is 100 % Vinyl.. scratches and all. So sit back and enjoy the ride as I tell my story through music.
It's the summer of 87.. just finished my first year of high school. I remember spending the a few days with my moms who at the time lived downtown bk.. this was much different than living in the stay. Lets go back to the summer joints of 87
Whats good.. at the time this was recorded, I couldn't think of a title. As I listened back, it reminded me of that time when I decided to ride along with my Aunt as she delivered flowers on Mothers day Sunday. We was out all day , radio blasting and my damn allergies going ballistic. LOL but hey I had fun.
1987 .. the spot built/saccony era, Jordan 2's , Adult Osh Kosh... and the start of the radio wars between The Rap Attack (WBLS) & DJ Red Alert ( KISS FM).. At 14 & half way through my freshman year of high school.. I was here for it. LOL
Sooooo.. It's the the last week of the school , 5th grade and of course like all kids I'm looking forward to the last day. And as my luck would have it... I catch the damn chicken pox .. and I mean BAD. I now spend the summer quarantined , covered in calamine lotion in the damn heat in a race against time to get bette so that I can see Return of The Jedi when it comes out . LOL Ladies and Gentlemen , I present Episode 14.

Well after a lot of procrastinating, I am finally back with a new episode. Let's go back 40 yrs .. I'm starting the 5th grade. Prince & Mike are king. Pepsi is the choice of a new generation & E.T. was the biggest movie for a 10 yr old. New Wave & Hip Hop was taking over and it's the rise of the music video show.
