Energy@Cambridge is a University of Cambridge Strategic Research Initiative, that brings together the activities of over 250 academics working in all aspects of energy-related research. It also links activities across the University and assists with setting up large scale collaborative projects focussed around Grand Challenges.
Energy research at the University of Cambridge is distributed across many disciplines and covers supply, conversion and demand, including socio-economic, technology, policy and materials-based cross-cutting themes at the University.

An inclusion-laden CHO cell transfected with YFP-Z-α1-antitrypsin and selected using fluorescence microscopy was subjected to electron microscopy. The peripheries of Z-α1-antitrypsin containing inclusions were recorded manually in each 2D micrograph and combined using Imaris software to generate a 3D projection by isosurface rendering.
The government's decision to delay the building of Hinkley 3, a nuclear energy plant to produce energy for the UK, was met with dismay by many people in the field of nuclear energy. Phil Williams of BBC Radio 5 contacted Dr Ian Farnan from Cambridge Nuclear Energy Centre to ask for his opinion on this decision.
