Kobe: Recent Episodes

KOBE is a Mexican DJ and producer. He was born in Mexico City, but he lives in Playa del Carmen, located in the beautiful Mexican Caribbean.

KOBE spends most of his time touring around Mexico,  playing his music at different venues. Nowadays, he is considered one of most popular and well-known DJ´s due to his talent and experience. 

KOBE has participated in different projects, in which famous  Mexican brands like: Basha ( sensorial marketing company ) and Máxima Radio Cancún ( radio  station ) among others, have invited him to collaborate as a content director.

Alongaside, KOBE decided to create his own record label under the name of JLK Records in collaboration with some of his closest  colleagues and friends. This label became one of the most popular   DJ´s record labels  in Mexico.

KOBE has been a resident DJ in different cities around Mexico like: Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Hidalgo, Guanajuato, Guadalajara, Cabo, Playa del Carmen, Mexico City and many others.

Nowadays, his own record label has a catalogue with more than 40 DJ´s and producers from different countries like: Mexico, Argentina, Germany, Colombia and  the Czech Republic.

In 2013 and 2014, DJ Kobe was asked to become a resident DJ at one of the coolest venues in Playa del Carmen “Coco Room” in Coco Maya, where he opened for some famous DJ´s at the BPM Festival. He also invited some of his Mexican colleagues to play on many events during the festival. For example, “Paradise” by Hot Creations,  featuring  some great DJ´s like Jamie Jones, Lee Foss, Richy Ahmed, Derrick L. Carter, Waff, “Wisdom of the Glove” ft. Guy Gerber, Cassy, DJ Tennis, “Viva Warriors” ft. Steve Lawler and Matthias Tanzmann, just to name a few.    

His passion from House has led him to focus his style, inspiration and energy to sounds coming from Chicago & Detroit. Some of these sounds are House, Acid House, Tech House, G-House, Afro House, Indie Dance & Nu Disco Groove; catapulting his career all over Mexico.

In 2014, DJ Kobe launched his first original track named “Shake It”. That was the beginning of his career as a producer, so he continued working on remixes and bootlegs such as “The Space Between Sky and Sand” ( DJ Kobe Bootleg Remix ) by Paul Kalkbrenner. 

In 2017, he launched his first EP called “Play This” in colaboration with Jorge Díaz ( JLK Records ), presented under the Mexican record label GO Records; and a few weeks later, they launched their second EP called “Troubles” presented under the record label Fresh Stuff Records located in  Playa del Carmen.

DJ Kobe has performed at the best venues in Mexico like: Clandestino (PDC), Mamitas (PDC), Martina (PDC), Club 01 (PDC), Coyote (PDC), Dinsmoor (CDMX),  Janis (CDMX), Clinton (CDMX), Terraza Roma (CDMX), Red Vixen (CDMX), Americana (CDMX), Gin Gin (CDMX), Dixon (CDMX), Phoenix (CDMX), Mandala  Beach (CUN), Palazzo (PDC), Prime (HGO), Republica (GDL) Uracao Beach Club (ACA) amongst others.

He is always sharing stages at different venues and festivals with DJ´s like: Vintage Culture (Brasil), Teenage Mutants (Germany), Watermat (France), Claptone (Germany), DJ Wild (France), Marc Houle (Germany), Juan Atkins (USA.), Ryan Elliot (Germany), Matias Sundblad (Pacha/Buenos Aires/Argentina), Wrester (Opium/Barcelona/Spain), etc.
