It seems that the truth has some how lost its appeal. In today's society what really can we say is the truth? Most of what we hear from news sources whether they are TV, Radio, News Papers, magazines and the internet, have been crafted with only one goal in mind. To sell more publications, get higher ratings and grab the attention of more and more consumers. We as consumers have been corralled, misled, polluted, and confused, by the by the media hype and spin-doctor machine until we are too exhausted and over whelmed by the rhetoric and minutia to have the focused attention needed to analyze the facts when the truth finally comes to light. "The story that could be" has become so enticing to the media conglomerates that the real story and a great story no longer resemble one another. “A Measure of Truth” attempts to expose the underlying truth of News Stories that you all have heard before, but gives you firsthand accounts from key players that have not yet been given a voice to tell the facts. These bearers of truth are often forced to wait until the media hype has expired and the back-story, what was in fact the only story, finally comes into vogue. When news and information comes with this baggage, you can only hope for... A Measure of Truth.
Our Children need material that speaks directly to their unique experiences within a society that has historically proven not to have the mind of an African American Child in their best interest. Our children need to be warmly lifted and promoted as intellectually sound and behavioral competent individuals. Our Children need a fair chance to compete in a very competitive market place. Our children need to expand and harness a vocabulary that lets others know they are aware of the times and are ready to engage a society that specializes in manipulative communication.
"If you master the usage of words-you're better able to remain liberated from the shackles and snares of life.
-Darryl D. Sims Ph.D.
At the end of a seemingly ordinary day, four-year-old Harper doesn't think she has much to be thankful for. Fortunately, her loving parents are there to point out all the wonderful things that happen each day that she should cherish. Harper Counts her Blessings shows children the importance of taking time each day as a family to reflect upon their blessings and to thank God!
For all of you who have supported A Measure of Truth over the years I just want to say thank you for you support! Can you believe it's been 11 years!!! This is a show that has been very popular with my listeners in the past, featuring the many commentaries that I have used to open or close my shows starting with two of the most recent. Enjoy!
What’s your Bailiwick? For J.C. and Jeff Smith, it’s making a classic clothing line that taps into the pride of their adopted hometown. “Being in Washington, D.C., it would’ve been easy to be a t-shirt company for tourists. But we didn’t want to do that. We didn’t want to be that,” said J.C., “We wanted to tap into the pride that the residents have and make a shirt for D.C. that went beyond a team shirt.” And with growing sales and an expanding product line, the brothers seem to have done just that. It also doesn’t hurt that Bryce Harper, one of the area’s highest profile athletes and a fellow D.C. transplant fond of his second home, wears the company’s t-shirts.
Career Goals
So what do you do when you have reached an admirable level of success in your chosen profession. Where you can truly look back at most of your Goals and think that this may be a good time to raise the bar.
How can you make the most of your momentum and ride that wave of success to the next level and not jeopardize your forward progress.
The last thing we would want to do is divide our efforts and find ourselves taking a step back instead of moving onto bigger and better.
Success is not always about what we think we need to share of ourselves with the world but moreover what is needed in the world that we can pull from our experiences that are still in the realm of our proven accomplishments. We need not be fearful, just careful, to ensure success.
How does Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, one of the Supreme Court’s favorite octogenarians, stay so active and energetic? She owes it in part to the twice-weekly workouts she does with her personal trainer, Bryant Johnson, a man she’s called “the most important person” in her life (after her family, of course). Whether you want to keep up with one of America’s most admired women or just reach one of your fitness goals, this book is for you.

Paul Lawrence Morgan aka “PJ Morgan” is best known as the Organist’s organist. The Washington, DC native grew up in a musical family, getting his exposure to the Hammond organ in a small Pentecostal church where his family served. After years of performing and playing in church, his big break into the music industry came when he was asked to fill in for a keyboardist who was unable to play for multiple award-winning Jazz musician Ben Tankard. Impressed with PJ’s creativity and productivity both on and off the instrument, Tankard moved PJ to Nashville to be his Music Director and to assist in building his record company. Since then, PJ has been on a blazing trail, playing in Gospel and mainstream genres, and earning well deserved accolades as a performer, producer, and teacher.
In his career span, PJ has become a renowned musician and producer sought after by some of the most recognizable artists in the music industry. He has appeared on almost twenty albums by artists such as Dorothy Norwood, Ben Tankard, William Becton, Desmond Pringle, Maurette Brown-Clark as a producer, songwriter, arranger, programmer, or musician. He has toured with Najee, Bobby Jones, Karen Clark Sheared, Ben Tankard, Yolanda Adams and William Becton.
THE TRANSPARENCY PROJECT gives PJ an opportunity to step into the spotlight as the featured musician, songwriter and producer. The album is set to release in 2018 via 1DMV Music.

Growing up on a modest farm in a small town in western Sweden, Gunilla Girardo remembers vividly the hand-embroidered wall decoration that hung in her mother’s kitchen. “If you want to know nature’s true way to happiness,” it read, “follow its first law: work.” A strong work ethic was innate to the town, to the farm, and to Gunilla herself, and she remembers watching her parents labor from sunrise to sunset. Her own inherent energy and drive, however, differed from the rest of the family in one key way. “Growing up in Sweden, failure was not an option, so risk taking was actively discouraged,” she remembers. “We were told not to try things when we weren’t certain to succeed, and if we failed, the response was, ‘I told you so.’ It’s completely opposite of how it is in America.” Despite this culture of playing it safe, Gunilla was driven to discover the world around her and the ability within her.
Now the Vice President of Twomentor LLC, Gunilla knows that not everyone gets to experience that kind of empowerment. Over the last fifteen years, over half a million people have died in the U.S. from drug abuse, and 91 Americans die each day from opioid overdoses alone. In the name of these lost lives, she works today to turn that tide, connecting with young people to help them realize within themselves the drive to discover a better future. “My core purpose is to empower everyone to succeed, whether at the organizational or individual level,” she says. “It’s what I’ve always done, and it’s what I’ll continue to do.”

SADDLE BROWN, hailing from Lincolnton, NC, grew up enmeshed in Country (the music and the lifestyle). Over the years, he became a regular part of the house band at Yesteryears in Charlotte, NC. He also appeared several times as a special guest on the Ken Linker Variety Televised Showcase. His poise and charisma in front of the camera even earned him a spot as co-host of the show for a year. SADDLE entered the Queen City Talent Search at Cricket Arena in Charlotte, NC. By the time he'd watched the first 58 contestants rap, he realized that he might have signed up for the wrong competition! Walking onto the stage wearing a cowboy hat, the hip-hop crowd started laughing. It didn't get much better when his backing CD started skipping. SADDLE kept going, saying, "I guess the sound system's only set up for rap. That's okay, I don't need it. He launched into an a cappella reading of Tim McGraw's "Angry All the Time". The crowd loved it. He ended up taking first place and the $10,000 check. But that's just SADDLE BROWN. Nothing stops this guy!

After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Drexel with her degree in Psychology and minor in Chemistry, Charis returned to her first love; singing and performing. She was determined to balance this love while also acquiring her Master's in Public Health. It was not uncommon for her to have to write a 25 page paper, and then have to go sing at a jazz club.
With this new focus and commitment Charis managed to take Philly by storm in 2009-2010. During this momentum, Charis spent her time understanding the music industry and acquired great assistance in developing her business from the Philadelphia Lawyers for the Arts. Charis established and is the CEO and Founder of JC1VOICE Entertainment, Inc. which markets her talents as an entertainer, actor and health advocate. However, she took a 4 year sabbatical to further determine what she wanted in life musically, spiritually and professionally. But by 2014, she realized that she did not need to choose one or the other, but instead, she could have it all. Yet, on June 1, 2015; she resigned from her directorship position, and became a full-time singer. The songs composed by Charis are at best described as her life experiences, compiled into relatable musical testimonies. With great excitement, the 5 year long debut EP album, entitled "Introducing Miss Jones" was released on July 7, 2015.

She is inspired by several genres of music and artists that include but are not limited to: Gospel, Jazz, Funk, Japanese Pop, Michael Jackson, Chaka Khan, Yolanda Adams, Donald Vails, Mint Condition, Tweet, and Erykah Badu.

So I ask, how can I better myself and prove my worth ethic and show society I am asset instead of a liability if no one is willing to take a chance on me?
`What is a felon; a person who has committed a felony in the court of law. Who is this person? My name is Deshapreca Robinson and I am a convicted felon. In 2001 being young and stupid not knowing that my mistakes would catch up to me and have a reflection on my future. I plead guilty to four counts of false pretense, one count of uttering, and one count of forgery. The punishment I received for the crimes committed was being imprisoned and paying fines. I was sentenced to 5 years each charge, ran concurrent and I served 3 years, one month, and day. My freedom was taken from me on May 9th of 2001 and given back on June 11th of 2004. I did not know when I plead guilty in the state of Virginia; I would not be able to get my record expunged if you I had taken a plea agreement.
If I knew what I know now, I would not have even made that stupid and senseless decision to mess up my life. Even though I was young, it was still my fault. No one put a gun to my head and forced me.
So today, I live in Woodbridge, VA working for in retail making 7.50 an hour with a daughter that needs more than what my check can provide. I have yet to give up on myself even before my daughter was born. Now that she is here she needs me to be her provider and her protector, so that is what I will be. My drive and determination will be the reason I keep pushing.

This message is more for me than it is for you, but for some reason I felt compelled to share it with you. I have quite a few of these messages that I write but tend to keep to myself but this one, just will not let me tuck it away with the rest. Although I have added and changed a number of phrase to make this message more broad and speak to a more diverse group of those in need, please know that I am not talking about anyone in particular, this message was first and foremost for me. Welcome to my world.
In her revealing autobiography, Dr. Tolbert describes how she overcame the obstacles that threatened to derail her aspirations for a sound education and professional career. From humble beginnings-surrounded by dirt roads and segregated schools, left orphaned and penniless at an early age-she chose a path of hard work and diligent study that lifted her out of poverty, despair, and ignorance.
In an era of tense race relations, and despite numerous stumbling blocks, Dr. Tolbert rose to prominence as an African-American scientist, educator, and administrator - often in positions traditionally held by males. She eventually became:
The first African-American female to serve as director of the nation’s New Brunswick Laboratory.
The first African-American female appointed director of education at Argonne National Laboratory.
The first female to serve as director of the Carver Research Foundation of Tuskegee Institute.
One of six African-American senior executives at the National Science Foundation.
The second African-American to graduate from Brown University with a doctorate in biochemistry.
*The first member of the Mayo family of Suffolk, Virginia, to earn a doctoral degree.
Her journey, however, was no “crystal stair” In publishing her tale, Dr. Tolbert affirms our human ability to survive the unexpected, rally against adversity, and charge ahead on a path to personal accomplishment. She is a strong role model with an inspirational message for others struggling against overwhelming odds.
“Soldier with a Backpack, Living and Dying Simultaneously” is written to form a silent unity of hope and understanding for individuals experiencing or knowing someone with PTSD and to reveal a needed truth about it.
A unique talent is always going to have a unique story. A story that you can hear and feel in the music they make.Saraswati's music doesn't sound like anyone else. Fusing elements of RnB and Pop with rootsy reggae rhythms and Indian melodies, she's doing something new, something innovative, but still something irresistibly accessible. Of course it helps that she's blessed with a voice that's calls to mind Sadé and MIA as much as it does Lauren Hill, Grace Jones and FKA Twigs. It's a voice that'll stop you in your tracks.Saraswati's story begins in a remote village in Nepal, where at the age of 5, she was taken to an orphanage in Kathmandu with her younger sister. After her sibling was adopted by an English family, Saraswati spent two years on her own. Eventually her sister had learned enough English to tell her new parents that she wasn't an only child and that Saraswati needed adopting too. At that point her life changed.Already a music lover from an early age due to exposure to Bollywood movies in the orphanage, Saraswati's world exploded when confronted by the pop music she was suddenly exposed to.Destiny's Child, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira all made an instant impact and immediately put her on the road to becoming an artist in her own right.

Sometimes life’s challenges are presented not to those who choose them or to those who deserve them. Sometimes life’s challenges are presented to those who before they even knew their own strength or even thought they could become someone who could, stand firm in the face of the unknown, with more questions than answers but know that no matter what it might take, even against all odds, that there is no other option but to try. God choose these special few to teach us through their testimony that even if you can’t extend your faith, one day, one hour or even just one minute to the next, through your crisis, you still have everything you will need in Our Lord and Savior, if you will just hold on. This is a story of Faith, Love, Family, Strength, Perseverance, Focus, Determination, Loyalty and “A Measure of Truth”.
Songwriter, producer, singer and all-around musical phenom Corey El handcrafts multidimensional songs that sparkle with contagious melodies, playful beats and razor-sharp lyrics. Each of his originals is an auditory time capsule that plunges listeners into his own memories and experiences, energized by the very essence of life: self-discovery; love and daring to let one’s own authentic colors shine. With a soulful wisdom far beyond his years and his finger on the pulse of his generation, Corey El lends a fresh perspective to decades’ worth of musical styles, inspired by the pioneering sounds of pop, R&B and urban music gurus such as B. Slade (Anthony Williams II), Kanye West and Michael Jackson.
The son of dexterous professional multi-instrumentalist Carl Lester-El, a young Corey El knew instantly how music can impact moods, viewpoints and connect people’s hearts and minds on a global scale. Because of his natural ear for a multitude of melodies and grooves, he was able to express himself instantly through singing. His father taught him how to track on a Casio keyboard, and as soon as he learned to write, he was making his own fully-formed tunes. By the time he was a teenager, he was already producing, writing and arranging for local artists in the studio, and he eventually felt the pull to focus on creating his own original work.
Now, Corey El continues to experiment with exciting melodic flavors, sounds, poetry and stories as he invents new ways to grow and express himself. A multi-talented and self-contained artist, he has already put out several singles via YouTube and streaming sites and created videos giving insight into his creative process. His new, empowering single, “Nothing Like You” encourages others to stay true to their authentic selves even when faced with bullies who try to limit their dreams. “Nothing Like You” is available now!
On his first visit to Nashville a few months ago, SADDLE walked into Opry Mills during the Traveling Music Television National Connection Talent Show. He entered completely unprepared, and ended up taking first place in the semi-final round. I suppose that's what prompted his move to Nashville. He landed his first showcase just one month after arriving. A top of the charts producer, attended, and was instantly converted into a rabid SADDLE supporter. SADDLE's recently completed his first CD on Music Row, writing and singing all of his own material, and has an impressive catalog of over 300 songs.

Kyle Freeman got started in business marketing in 1996 in San Diego,
California. He was the first field coordinator promoted in the region, in
record time. He left the company after several years and became the
head trainer of a similar company in the telecom marketing industry.
Spending many years with two different companies, he decided to set
out on his own. In 2003 he created Juice Marketing, Inc., he served as
President and CEO for the next five years. In that period of time under
his leadership the company JMI became JMI Telecom Corp a publically
traded company and one of the only minority owned public utilities in
NC and Kentucky. He is well known and respected in the network
marketing community.
Kyle served in the United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer. After 24
years of service with the Navy and Naval Reserves he retired with
honors in 2008.
Now Kyle is ready for his next assignment as an author and speaker
his goal is to help small to medium size businesses as well as veteran
owned businesses find funding sources for their companies and
projects. Most new businesses fail within the first five years due to a
lack of funding. His knowledge of venture capital and source funding is
what helped him and his partners become a public traded company.
His goal to help 10,000 companies become publicly traded is lofty but
he is more than ready for the challenge. As in the Navy Chiefs lead
from the front.
Tomette Herring founder of the Face Book Group entitled “Transform 2 Transcend, Transforming People to Transform the World”. This is one of a few trademarks that Tomette has developed to capture and communicate a belief and methodology for becoming the best of who we are in order to transcend the “average” thereby leaving a dynamic legacy that our children’s children can be proud of.
After all, what are we here to deliver anyway?
In my discussions, I realized that many of us have critical information that would prove very beneficial to those struggling to transform. We can help each other. So, why not share that. It might help someone stay in their home, obtain a job, get critical counseling for a loved one before devastation arrests them in a state of depression.
So, here’s the question. How do you SURVIVE until you THRIVE? I don’t have all the answers, but if you ask the community, you might be surprised.
GODISHEUS is a powerhouse Funk Rock band wildly popular in the D.C. indie music scene. Formed by veteran D.C. hip-hop icon Head-Roc and an all-star lineup of some of the heaviest hitters on the go-go scene— Dwayne ‘Super Bad III’ Lee on guitar (Fayces U Know, Heaven Sent, MVP, Familiar Faces, 3LG), Byron “BJ” Jackson (Rare Essence, MeShell Ndegeocello), and Kenny “Kwick” Gross on drums (Chuck Brown, Lissen Band, Marcus Johnson Project), GODISHEUS is hard at work to define a new live sound rooted in the Funk and Rock.
Head-Roc, who has taken on the stage name Om V for this project, is no stranger to working with a live band. During the mid ’90s, he and Super Bad III (lead guitar) were part of Three Levels of Genius (3LG), a live hip-hop band that proved influential in the region. Om V is quick to point out that GODISHEUS is not
a typical hip-hop band, but rather “the 21st century return of substantive Funk music for the people.”
As we all know, Funk beget Go-Go and Hip-Hop in ways dear to the District. Don’t get it twisted: GODISHEUS is no cover band doing their best Parliament rendition; they are a rare and raw D.C. Funk Rock sound with a message of empowerment for the people delivered by one of D.C.’s MC champions. Over tight arrangements that are equal parts funk, rock and soul, Om V brings the lyrical heat, speaking truth to power with every line, something that has earned him the respect of hip-hop heads, punk rockers, indie rockers, and progressive audiences all over. Powered by Kwick’s impeccable drumming, Super Bad III’s six-string magic, and the low end work of BJ on bass, the GODISHEUS International Funk Train is set to dazzle audiences worldwide!

“What drives us to continue is the fact that, no matter how much we have achieved, there are still so many people in America and around the world who have never seen us perform or heard us, and we’re all about getting out there and sharing what we do with them. There’s also something cool about being the underdog, because there’s always something exciting still to accomplish. Every career has its ebbs and flows, and we’re fortunate to still be around, doing what we love to do – making people happy with our music!”
The mission of Pan Africa Children Advocacy Watch (PACAW), Inc. is to nurture and develop a different generation of African leaders through the vehicle of ACCESS to a NEW EDUCATION CULTURE AT THE BASIC LEVEL. A type of education that will focus on turning the gaze of the children away from avarice, extortion, selfishness, the vain, and obsession with accumulation of material wealth, and prepare them for leadership that embraces living for a higher purpose.
PACAW will empower these children and young men and women, through education, to subjugate their personal and tribal interests to the interest and well - being of their nations. PACAW is focusing in particular on the education of students in the primary and secondary schools in the neglected and underserved communities in Sub-Sahara Africa. The parents and the local community, including the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), play a central role in charting the course of the future of the children in accordance with their aspirations, and also in the implementation of the objectives of PACAW, Inc. There is strict monitoring and accountability by the PTA, school officials and PACAW, Inc.
The goal is to have a critical mass of a new and different generation of African leaders who will champion de facto development of Africa by Africans. Our hope is that these " NEW " African nations will become productive contributors to the well-being of the human family of nations, and partners with the other developed nations rather than dependents drowning in a culture of chronic beggarliness. PACAW, Inc. believes that intelligence, capability, courage and good character are spread handsomely by OUR CREATOR across all segments of the human race. Thus, with the right type of education, and persistent help from altruistic and visionary mentors, the new leadership in Africa would be able to overcome the Continent's monumental problems.

YBW later evolved into what is now known as the DREAMS club which stands for Dedicated Responsible Enthusiastic And Motivated Student, that included boys as well.

The eveloution of the DJ
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A disc jockey (abbreviated D.J. or DJ) is a person who mixes recorded music for an audience. Originally, "disc" (sometimes spelled "disk", although this is now uncommon) referred to phonograph records, not the later compact discs. Today, the term includes all forms of music playback, no matter the medium.
There are several types of disc jockey. Radio DJs or radio personalities introduce and play music that is broadcast on AM, FM, shortwave, digital or internet radio stations. Club DJs select and play music in bars, nightclubs or discothèques, or at parties or raves, or even in stadiums. Hip hop DJs select and play music using multiple turntables to back up one or more MCs/rappers, perform turntable scratching to create percussive sounds, and are also often music producers who use turntablism and sampling to create backing instrumentals for new tracks. In reggae, the DJ (deejay) is a vocalist who raps, "toasts", or chats over pre-recorded rhythm tracks while the individual choosing and playing them is referred to as a selector.[1] Mobile DJs travel with portable sound systems and play recorded music at a variety of events. Some mobile DJs also serve as the master of ceremonies or MC directing the attention of attendees, and maintaining a room-wide focus on what is included in the event's agenda.[2] According to a 2012 study, there are approximately 1¼ million professional disc jockeys in the world.[3]
The title "DJ" is also commonly used by DJs in front of their real names or adopted pseudonyms as a title to denote their profession and the music they play.

Other conversation topics could probably be resolved if we took the time to understand and deliver messages in emotionally mature ways. This is what we’er talking about on the next show. How Emotionally Intelligent Are You …, ? How should we? How would we? Well, look.

The National Coalition to Save Our Mall is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization of designers, historians, artists, preservationists, and concerned citizens founded in 2000 to protect and enhance the integrity of the National Mall. The Coalition is the only organized voice for the public on Mall matters.
Their mission is to seek a broad, forward-looking visionary plan for the National Mall that recognizes its value to all Americans as a symbol of our country's founding ideals, the People’s Place, and a stage for our evolving democracy.
The Coalition advances its goals through public advocacy holding public forums and presentations to educate audiences and identify the Mall’s needs; and publish reports advocating long-range solutions.
They are urging Congress and the President to establish an independent, 18-month National Mall Commission to bring all constituencies to the table, including the public and District of Columbia government, to create a long-term, visionary plan for the National Mall in its 3rd century. The original visionary plan, the L’Enfant Plan of 1791 for Washington, D.C. (the 1st Century Mall) and the second visionary plan, the McMillan Commission Plan of 1902 (the 2nd Century Mall), cannot accommodate modern needs for new museums and public use.
The National Mall is one of the country’s most symbolic landscapes, a major destination for visitors from the U.S. and around the world, and a major urban park for DC residents. Oversight of the Mall is divided among 6 government agencies and 14 Congressional committees.

Why is branding so important to me?
Many have not figured out how to create success around their vision for a greater life for themselves and those they want to help. One reason why is because a vision in itself is often bigger than the visionary who produces it, and most times a vision requires the help of many other gifted and talented people to assist in bringing it to fruition. When we create room for others to help, we ensure that our vision gets a chance to live outside our hearts and minds. This allows for our vision to live on even after we die. This is why I show people of vision how to conceptualize, clarify and cast that vision in a way that the world can understand it and help bring it to life. Then, I brand and market that vision (and the visionary) according to their own timeline. I get to work with ordinary people who wish to do extraordinary and world - changing things. God blessed me with my gift. The men and women I work with bless me with the opportunity to help them communicate their stories. Communication is one of my gifts. Branding is one way it is manifested.

SADDLE BROWN, hailing from Lincolnton, NC, grew up enmeshed in Country (the music and the lifestyle). It's a classic tale of a hot young talent learning his craft in the heart of the South.

The meeting includes many educational professionals (administrator, teacher, therapists, counselor, psychologist, etc.

It is nothing short of amazing how something as seemingly insignificant as a men’s neck -tie could become a game changer in the way a young man views himself. Through this program finds he has more things in common with those who are successful and consider this attire the standard than they could have ever imagined and are inspired regardless of their past, to pursue their true potential.
"The Tie That Binds," a tie tying event produced to give young men ages 15 to 18 some of the lessons they didn't receive from their fathers, was a tremendous success and had a powerful impact on the young men involved as well as the mentors who shared their real life stories. Each shared turning points in their lives and the realization that the choice is always your own . The workshop, which included powerful speakers, a lunch at Carrabbas, and monogrammed shirts and ties gifted to each participated, was graded at 4.8 out of a possible 5. Adam Alston, the keynote speaker, had the greatest impact on the youth as he shared his story of being convicted at 18 to 25 years in prison.
Welcome to the group entitled “Transform 2 Transcend, Transforming People to Transform the World.” This is one of a few trademarks that I have developed to capture and communicate a belief and methodology for becoming the best of who we are in order to transcend the “average” thereby leaving a dynamic legacy that our children’s children can be proud of.

Timothy Hafer and Joseph August Luisi met in a band and immediately a strong musical friendship was formed. They performed in multiple bands together in Los Angeles for two years until they created Stand Beside The Ocean (Be Mine). The song is simply a harmony hook perched on top of an analog synthesizer and heavy drums. This departure from guitars and more traditional forms immediately struck a nerve with friends and fans and that "happy accident" morphed into what is now known as Chance My Brother. They currently have a song in the opening scene of the upcoming feature film "Fate" and they have multiple compositions in the exclusive Viceroy Hotel Group playlist. Tim and Joe are constantly pushing forward, ideally fusing together their love of wave, R&B, and pop with the future.
Chance My Brother's fuses 1983 with the future.

In 2006, Director James Cheeks III and Photographer Kevin Campbell set out to Long Beach to capture its thriving skateboard scene in the aftermath of a gang-shooting that ended the life of one of the city's most promising skaters. "On The Grind" follows a diverse group of skaters who are elevating themselves out of poverty with their passion of skateboarding. The skaters practice at a skate-park located in the middle of a war zone where drugs, violence and homelessness run rampant; and over the past three years, the filmmakers have discovered compelling stories of loss, loyalty and brotherhood that transcend Long Beach. This documentary will prove to be an artifact of the urban skate phenomenon, while providing hope for a community struggling to keep its youth from the undertow of gang-violence. Skateboarding isn't some suburban sport, it's a means of survival...Written by James Cheeks III
JM was first introduced to Hip Hop when his family moved from his hometown of Kingston, Jamaica to the Washington, DC area. A lifelong Hip Hop fan, JM's music career began while he was away for college. One day, a flyer caught his eye for a talent show being held that very night. Acting on a whim, he entered the competition and won. After college JM returned to Washington and started working a corporate job, never forgetting how it felt to be in college doing what he really loved. Never forgetting that dream, he reassured himself that he would create music soon enough. After putting it off for too long, JM decided that soon enough isnt soon enough and that the only way to get to where he wants to be is to live [NOW]. That day, he began working on his debut album "Soon Enough {isn't Soon Enough}".
"Soon Enough {isn't Soon Enough}" tracks JM's time between college and the creation of this album. The album provides an intimate peek into a world where your only limitation is your ambition. Artfully drawing parallels between this fictionalized world and modern day culture, the album melodically encourages the listener to free themselves by embracing ambition and imagination.
Apollo Amateur Night and John Lennon Contest winner, David Tauler is a singer, songwriter, & multi-instrumentalist creating a hybrid of rock and soul. The Dave Tauler Music Group unlike most bands, the DTMG is an ever-changing collective of musicians who work interchangeably to address a variety of musical styles. K-pop may have found Dave, but he has embraced it and is excited to contribute his talents and that of the Dave Tauler Music Group to the success of the movement..
Dave Tauler plays 28 instruments, speaks Korean, Spanish and English, and is immersed in all three cultures. K-pop or Korean pop music refers to not only types of music but to a musical movement that swept South Korea starting in the early 1990s. Much of the music is similar to what you’d hear on American pop radio stations, though more often sung or rapped in Korean. In fact, early versions of Korean pop leant heavily on certain American forms, like R & B, hip hop, and a little bit of rock and techno.

SpeciaL guest Kollaboration is an Asian and Pacific Islander (API) organization and Movement that was founded in 2000 by Executive Director Paul “PK” Kim. Under the guidance of Executive Producer Roy Choi, Kollaboration became officially incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in January of 2006 and became an Asian and Pacific Islander organization. Previously it focused on the Korean American community. Kollaboration is an annual event and movement produced by young Asian and Pacific Islander professionals and students, volunteering their time and skills to celebrate the vast talents of their community and hopefully bring them into the mainstream. It is evident that APIs are often categorized into a certain image. APIs may find it increasingly difficult to get jobs outside the “model minority” or “foreigner” role. Such barriers often result in the lack of APIs in mainstream entertainment industries. Thus, APIs are not only unfairly portrayed but also disproportionately underrepresented in the mainstream media.

Originally from Washington, DC, Sylvia is the only renowned African American Female Impressionist in the country. She was one of the first solo artists to tour and open for Whitney Houston when Ms. Houston was one of the biggest names in the entertainment business. The arenas they performed in sometimes housed well over 30,000 people.
When heavyweight boxing was at its zenith and Muhammad Ali was in his prime, Sylvia was asked to host a Roast of the Champ at the legendary Apollo Theater. The hosting job was so prolific and the imitation of the World Heavyweight Champion was so spot-on that he looked at her in amazement and said, “You'’re doin’ me? A woman doin’ me? That’s awesome!”
As a result of that roast, Sylvia was offered a position as an associate-writer for one of America’s longest-running TV shows, Saturday Night Live. She is one of few African American Women offered that position. Since that time Sylvia has opened for some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, including Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan, The Temptations, and Cher.

Temika say's, In recording this project I spent a lot of time reflecting, reading, studying, listening, praying, crying, apologizing, repenting, forgiving, asking, thinking, understanding...healing. I now know the answers to some of my questions. But, I’ll spend the rest of my journey discovering answers to the questions that remain. I hope The End Of Me sparks a fire in you that starts the momentum for asking the “tough questions.” I believe we are all yearning to understand our individual maladies. I believe when we come to the end of ourselves that's when God can speak, and that's when our ears and heart can hear his gentle whisper saying...“Are you now ready to know the truth?”

Through his highly interactive facilitations and motivational training style, Mr. Dorfman provides participants with the opportunity to excel in their industries. This is accomplished by first raising awareness around a specific challenge or need, then by helping these participants tap into their own unique abilities. Award-winning author of The Broken Sword Liane Moonraven. Liane has fantasized about King Arthur and the magnificent Knights of the Round Table since she was a small girl and has written fiction for almost as long as she could hold a pen. She did not take her writing seriously however until after she enrolled in a Creative Writing course while attending college. Liane’s professor encouraged her to continue honing her talent as he felt she had great gift for story-telling. Inspired by the great legends of King Arthur and authors such as Edgar Allan Poe, Brahm Stoker and Stephen King as well as the brilliant Alfred Hitchcock, Liane prefers weaving a story of history but mixed with a bit of classic horror and steamy romance as well. Liane believes the combination makes for a deliciously different yet memorable tale.
Hip-Hop Recording Artist Larry Henderson A.K.A. Lak is the 'hip-hop educator' featured on CBS Radio, London's BANG Radio, and other national media outlets. His new album, Lesson One: Hip-Hop & Education is now available on iTunes and Amazon. The album blends educational lyrics, ill metaphors and an hypnotic flow with underground hip-hop beats. Songs on Lesson One hit on topics such as money management, African-American impact, female empowerment, history, politics and more. Listeners will be impressed that even though Lak's music is educational, the soul and integrity of hip-hop music is not compromised. Dominion of New York Magazine says, "Most people who use hip-hop to educate children do so badly. Lak does it so well that after a kid shares his music with you, you'll secretly download the album yourself."
Seen And Sustained Best Practices in Communication that Increase the Visibility of Small and Diverse Businesses is a second workbook in a series of publications meant to increase the effectiveness of visionaries in small and also diverse businesses.
The descriptor “small business” does not equate small vision. In fact, it is quite the opposite, as many small businesses maintain the heart of America’s economy, creating new innovations everyday that majority firms simply can’t compete with. Creativity is a thriving constant in the small business and when coupled with a nimble operation these types of businesses can compete and sometimes overtake larger outfits. For the most part, nobody disputes the fact that the small business is a great concept, it is the epitome of liberation from institutionalism, and its leaders are rewarded in ways far beyond monetary gain.

My 4 Year Anniversary Show I got my start in Radio at XM 155 Take Five, under the tutelage of Blanche Williams on Her show "Greatness By Design with Blanche Williams". As a mentor Blanche got me involved right away. Shortly after my interview she invited me into the studio, sat me in front of a microphone and moments later I was on national radio! On my way home I was so excited and overwhelmed I could hardly drive... I knew then that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. When I got home and started to tell my wife about my experience... I realized that my face was hurting from the huge SMILE that I had on my face all the way home. As a Mentor, Blanche has gone above and beyond to push me to realize my dreams. I really can't thank her enough. If everyone had a friend like Blanche, the world would be a much better place to live. How's that for "A Measure Of Truth".
Kevin L. Matthews II a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma and is a graduating senior at Hampton University in Hampton, VA. In his first book, Brick Theory he tells us... "at 18 after my freshman year of college I bought my first house that I later sold the same year. What’s the lesson? It is not about how much you make but how much you manage. Never once during that time had I made more than $7.25/hr. It was through my habits that I was able to get the things I wanted and needed. It wasn't always easy but it definitely wasn't impossible."

The window of opportunity has opened to establish a significant presence for us on the African continent. A recent trade visit to Ghana resulted in serious discussions about designation of land to build the Wall of Return and Restoration Center. The amount of land discussed will be more than enough to encourage other developments (hotels, clinic, restaurants, condominiums, offices, etc.) in preparation for marking our 400-year return celebrations to Africa through our Ghana Gateway in the year 2019. There is a tremendous amount of work to do and milestones to complete on the way to this promised destiny.
Michael Ayers is a singer/songwriter/producer from St. Mary Parish Louisiana who has crafted a sound that he affectionately calls “Open”. Ayers states that “I get tired of hearing songs that are so full of production and sounds for the sake of having sounds on the track that you barely even hear the singer that the song is supposed to be for. Back in the day, every instrument was just another way to tell the story, another part that added to the whole composition." Ayers further states that "Music is the framework, the artist is the canvas.” Michael Ayers has been a writer and producer of his own music since the age of 15. Many have described him as a true homage to great soul singers from the past as well as a sure sign of the future. One listen to him whether live or on wax leaves no mistaking how passionate he is about music. According to Michael he brings to his listeners attention that "To be honest music hasn’t become lucrative for me yet. My studio is a Macbook Pro, recording software, a USB mic and a closet near you. So yes, technologically I’m limited. But nevertheless I pour my heart into every square inch of what I do have while not worrying about what I don’t. Music is about passion, not science."

Author and frequent U.S. Today columnist Dr. James Key has long been inspired by biblical stories and the way God has touched his life, as well as empowered by the lives of others. Not just famous people, but ordinary folks whose names and faces are unknown. Some of their stories were of terrible tragedies while others have been wonderful examples of human triumph and victory. These people and their remarkable experiences left an indelible mark on Key’s soul and have compelled him to review and reheat the stories of his life in Touch and Go. From his days of growing up in South Central Los Angeles to serving on the battlefield as a United States Army chaplain in war-torn Baghdad, Iraq, Key brings to life how God continued to move with him, even in his darkest hours. Touch and Go encompasses the best qualities of a biography and a religious/inspirational book. Touch and Go captures the essence and dynamic involvement of God in everyday life. From the good to the bad to the downright low, readers are reminded that God is always there to bring comfort and direction.

Every movement has its book. Gritty, raw and spiritual, Ghetto Plainsman chronicles one man’s triumph over humiliation, self-defeat, anger and violence by taking us on a chaotic journey between urban survival and the life-or-death struggles of the ravaged American Great Plains. As a modern-day parable for our crashing Earth, this gripping story reveals how someone on the cut, hustling, drug dealing and trying to beat back despair transforms himself into someone working to save great stretches of the American West that prove to be even more violent and devastated than the inner city. Jarid Manos finds comfort on a curb or in the shadows of a deserted street. He sees the world as a constant war zone filled with hatred and ugliness. He burns with backlash resentment. To complicate matters, he is tormented by a self-loathing denial of his sexuality and wants to kill it out of him. From coastal Texas to an 80s–early 90s New York City under siege by drugs and AIDS, to a xenophobic L.A. wasteland divided by race and class, all the way out into the stricken Great Plains, Manos can barely see the door that Earth has always held open for us to heal, until… at his last gasp – It is inside the eye of this storm that Manos finally hears the inner voice: Where are you right now? His personal healing transformation is a model for the new Ecological Health Movement. Beautifully written, infused with a raw realism, hope, and an epilogue of practical solutions, Ghetto Plainsman is the searing journey of one of the Green Movement’s most original voices at a time when the world is in crisis and heading into ecological collapse.
Back in the day, every instrument was just another way to tell the story, another part that added to the whole composition." Ayers further states that "Music is the framework, the artist is the canvas.” Muhummad Ayers has been a writer and producer of his own music since the age of 15. Many have described him as a true homage to great soul singers from the past as well as a sure sign of the future. One listen to him whether live or on wax leaves no mistaking how passionate he is about music. According to Muhummad he brings to his listeners attention that "To be honest music hasn’t become lucrative for me yet. My studio is a Macbook Pro, recording software, a USB mic and a closet near you. So yes, technologically I’m limited. But nevertheless I pour my heart into every square inch of what I do have while not worrying about what I don’t. Music is about passion, not science."

SADDLE BROWN, hailing from Lincolnton, NC, grew up enmeshed in Country (the music and the lifestyle). It's a classic tale of a hot young talent learning his craft in the heart of the South.
I first got my start in Radio 3 years ago at XM 155 Take Five, under the tutelage of Blanche Williams on Her show "Greatness By Design with Blanche Williams". This just happed to to be the day before the King Holiday.

Christian Comedienne True Comedy, born "Kristy Smith," has always had something to say, however, when the Lord showed her a vision with a mic in her hand she was speechless. She thought her destiny would be in music which she loves however, God had a totally different plan for her life. She is reminded of the scripture in Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in a mans heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails. True Comedy's debut was initiated when she was encouraged to take her humor from the pew to pulpit. Since her initial appearance she has been catapulted in front of a wide variety of audiences- from church gatherings, to comedy clubs, to family events. True Comedy brings family oriented humor and fun to any audience.

To label Claudette Monet as simply a “soul” singer is a huge understatement. Rather, Monet is a full-fledged musical force who always graces the stage with an angelic presence that is paralleled only by the industry’s most celebrated icons. Her music — a mixture of soul, funk, rock and pop — attracts people of all ages, religions, shapes and shades. Monet is all about love, from the songs she sings, to the way she connects with her audience. That love typically comes back two-fold at the end of Monet’s concerts, when her faithful fans fill the room with thunderous applause and cheers. Her voice booms tremendously and her adorable smile is enough to make listeners fall in love over and over again.

In 2006 John undertook producing a solo guitar album with the resources of Filthy Funk at hand. This recording represented a new level of quality (both musicianship and recording) and has generated an astounding level of interest in Filthy Funk's production abilities. Released in late summer of 2007, "Tasty Licks" has generated some great reviews, an amazing CD-release show, and regular rotation on local jazz radio. During the creation of John Viviani's CD, Filthy Funk met up with a new drummer Devon Tramell. He currently performs with the group live and has also become a creative contributor to Filthy Funk Productions. Devon can get down on the trumpet just as nasty as the kit so don't be surprised if you see him bustin out the horn now and again. FF released a compilation disc of the last 7 years of Filthy Funk recordings called 'Beats of Fury' in 2008. It features a crazy amount of talented vocalists, musicians, and producers who have worked with ff in the past, present, and future. A brand new, next level album has just been released by Filthy Funk Productions. "Eklectric" features collaborative, original compositions between Filthy Funk and Danielle Ponder. If you enjoy happy... this record is for you.
