On Wednesday, the Colorado State football team welcomes new signees during the early signing day; we take a look at the commits at this point.

Obviously, Mike Bobo and Co. going in on massive-name recruits in Keevan Bailey and Shilo Sanders, the sons of Champ and Deion, which would be huge signees. Unfortunately, both of them are expected to wait until February to sign, and both of them have many offers from power-5 programs, so we'll have to wait and see on them.

One positive is the fact that Bailey has committed to CSU, although, players do switch, as we saw with offensive tackle T.J. Storment, who flipped to the rival CU Buffaloes.

So, who will likely be signing tomorrow? Well, we break down the eight "hard commits" as listed by InsideTheRams.com, how they could impact the Rams and what they've done in their high school days. A full preview of those players, as well as some areas of opportunity for Colorado State's football team, is the first half of the podcast.

Then, we transition into CSU basketball and their selfish play as of late. Head coach Niko Medved was fired-up after the loss on Sunday to South Dakota, and we bring you lots of quotes from Medved on what he's seeing in terms of their selfishness.

Simply, offensively the Rams aren't sharing the ball well enough. And defensively, they're not giving enough effort, nor are they team-rebounding, which will have to change if the green and gold want to find more wins during Medved's first season. Tune in for all those great quotes and more.

Niko Medved and Co. started hot, at 3-0, but have come back to earth recently now at 4-4 on the season.

We look back on the losses to Southern Illinois last Tuesday as well as the loss to CU, seeing what we can learn from them as the Rams now face 5-1 Arkansas on Wednesday. Simply, Medved's team has to rebound much, much better than we've seen as of late.

Against SIU they were doubled up on the boards 34-17 and against CU they lost the rebounding battle 40-29. Beyond that, the Rams were bullied in the paint in terms of scoring, too; a -24 versus SIU and -12 against the Buffs.

How can Medved's team win on Wednesday against a talented Razorbacks team? We break down Arkansas' strengths and give you three keys to the win, as well as our marquee matchup.

And in the first half of the podcast, we look at all the coaching changes in the NCAA. Yes, some Rams fans want Mike Bobo to be fired, but that won't happen, as Joe Parker's statement to fans explained last week. But, why did some Rams fans want Jim McElwain?

We unpack all that, and also touch on some All-Mountain West Rams players in Preston Williams and Ryan Stonehouse. Did you know Stonehouse's punting average was 48.3 per boot, second-best in the nation? But, when we dig a little further, we find a glaring weakness in the Rams special teams.

At 3-0 to start their season, everything looks great for Niko Medved's Colorado State Rams men's basketball team.

Nico Carvacho is averaging a double-double, the Rams are getting phenomenal guard play out of Anthony Masinton-Bonner, Kendle Moore and J.D. Paige and when they're at their best, the Rams share the ball very well.

We look at CSU's first road trip of the season, a three-games-in-three-days tournament out in Florida which tips off Monday at 3 p.m. MST. It's a preview looking at exactly what the green and gold will have to do to win the entire tournament.

First up, Colorado State faces 1-2 Louisiana today at 3 p.m. Jakeenan Gant is the star for the Ragin' Cajuns, and he'll likely matchup with Carvacho. That is, unless Louisiana goes big, which may be difficult for the guard-heavy Rams to compete with. If CSU wins today, they'll play at 5:30 p.m. MST Tuesday against the winner of Toledo and Florida Gulf Coast; we guess it'll be FGCU and break down that matchup as well.

Also included in the podcast: We start off with the insane finish to the football game on Saturday. Has there ever been a crazier ending? We get quotes from Collin Hill and Mike Bobo before moving on from that one to the final game of the year.

Things are up and down in Fort Collins, currently.

The Colorado State football (3-7) team looks to finish their home slate of games this Saturday with a win, but that won't come easy against the 9-1 and No. 14 Utah State Aggies. Utah State, long known for their staunch defense, has the best offense in the nation this year, scoring 51.3 points per game. That's phenomenal, and they could drop 60 or even 70 on the Rams awful defense during CSU's Senior Day.

Can the Rams pull that one out? It's unlikely.

Meanwhile, Colorado State men's basketball is red-hot right now, starting their season and the Niko Medved Era 2-0 with wins over Colorado Christian and Arkansas Pine Bluff. We give you all the need-to-know info. from those games, including Nico Carvacho starting off with two straight double-doubles, the freshmen performing well and so much more.

Your Colorado State Rams played their first game of the season last Saturday, and exhibition contest against CSU-Pueblo, which told us a lot about the team, both on and off the court.

On the court, they're going to run a lot with the transition offense, they utilized good effort on defense and are actually using set plays on offense, too.

Off the court, we learned Deion James will redshirt this season and that Kris Martin has been suspended for the first five games of the season. So, don't expect to see them when your Rams tip off the regular season on Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. MST against Colorado Christian.

In this season preview podcast, we break down how Niko Medved and his staff have changed the culture, and what that means to the players. We hear from Medved on a lot of things, including how many players will be in his rotation as well as the changes to the offensive and defensive philosophies for the Rams this year.

Welcome to November, Colorado State Rams fans. And welcome back to men's basketball season.

On Saturday, Nov. 3, your Rams take on CSU-Pueblo in an exhibition game to fine-tune all the kinks they have left to work on before the regular season tips off one week from today, on Nov. 7.

We give you information on how the Rams hoops team's culture has received a massive makeover thanks to Niko Medved and his staff. What do the players think of the culture change and how will it help them on the court?

We also talk to Nico Carvacho, who hopes to continue his growth from the second half of last season into this year, and how all the work in the offseason has prepared Anthony Masinton-Bonner and his teammates for the season.

But first, we talk about that disappointing Border War loss by the football team, dropping them to 3-6 on the season. What are the three biggest takeaways from that game? Hint: It's not pretty. The Rams football team are on a much-needed bye this week before facing Nevada on the road next Saturday.

How could the Rams offense improve? What were some misses on that side of the ball this week, and all season? And, why has the defense seemed uninterested in tackling at times?

Week 9 is a huge one for Colorado State Rams football.

With four games left on the current schedule, Mike Bobo's Rams need to win three contests to become bowl-eligible for the sixth straight season. That all begins this week, with the Border War kicking off against Wyoming at 8 p.m. MT on Friday night.

And with that massive game coming this Friday, Mike Bobo has decided to make the switch from redshirt senior transfer K.J. Carta-Samuels to redshirt sophomore Collin Hill.

We take a look back at that Boise State beat-down, and how Hill won the job in that game by playing well in the fourth quarter. And, we look at why this is the perfect time to make a switch to Hill.

Can Colorado State win three of four to make a bowl game? It's a long shot, but it starts this week, needing a win over their rivals in the Cowboys, who aren't great at 2-6 overall. And, don't forget the Rams ran off four straight in 2015 and they won four-of-five in 2016 to become bowl-eligible under Bobo. It's happened before, and can again.

We bring you three keys to a Rams victory this week before getting into the trivia question of the week, and the possible prize of winning two New Belgium Porch passes to the Nov. 17 game against Utah State.

Colorado State football has turned things around lately.

After starting 1-4 on the season, their bye week was perfectly timed. All those losses humbled the team, as Jamal Hicks said on Saturday, and the culture of the defense has changed as of late.

Hicks and the defense played very, very well against and explosive New Mexico Lobos team on Saturday, limiting them to 134 yards on the ground and only 18 points. The defense also came up with a huge forced fumble to start the game and then stopped the Lobos at the perfect time to give the Rams the ball back to win the game.

Can Colorado State now win three straight games on the season and defeat Boise State for the first time ever? We preview that game with three keys to a Rams victory. That contest kicks off at 7 p.m. MT Friday on ESPN2.

Later in the podcast, we take a look at the CSU Men's basketball scrimmage and what we learned about some should-be key players. We also hear from head coach Niko Medved, as well as stars Nico Carvacho and Anthony Bonner on how the team's new coaching staff has changed things for the better in a hurry.

Hint: These coaches care for the players and are following through on teaching them the right way to play the game while connecting with the players off the court, too. It's building excitement in Fort Collins that these Rams will be improved.

Basketball season has returned!

On this special edition of the CSU RamsCast, we hear from head coach Niko Medved and stars Nico Carvacho, Anthony Bonner and Deion James. What are their thoughts on Medved and how has the culture changed at Colorado State from a basketball standpoint?

You're going to want to listen to the end of the podcast for those insights, and one thing's for sure, this season will be much different than the ones we've seen in the recent past here in Fort Collins.

But we kick off the podcast with Homecoming week for the CSU Football team, their big victory over the San Jose State Spartans last Saturday and their chance to win two in a row this week at home against New Mexico.

After that comeback win against the Spartans, two Rams were honored by Pro Football Focus, we look at those two exemplary young men, and then preview the Rams-Lobos game which kicks off at 2 p.m. MT at Sonny Lubick Field at Canvas Stadium this Saturday.

And, in a new event, the men's basketball team is putting on a free and open to the public scrimmage on Homecoming Saturday at 10 a.m. All that need to know information and so much more in this edition of your RamsCast.

Colorado State is coming off two straight losses and their much-needed bye week.

So, how can the Rams get back to their winning ways? We examine just that, previewing the game against the lowly San Jose State Spartans, giving the keys for CSU.

Mike Bobo gives us lots of quotes from his Monday press conference, including some on the competition throughout the team. What will that mean for the starting quarterback? Well, we could see both K.J. Carta-Samuels as well as Collin Hill this week, as Bobo explained. Tune in for those quotes and thoughts on that position, as well as other key spots for CSU.

We also look at where the Rams can improve on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball, starting this week. Defensively, they must have more sacks and interceptions, which could go hand-in-hand.

At 1-4 to start this season, it's been anything but ideal for the Colorado State football team this year.

Outside of the win over SEC foe Arkansas, the Rams have been somewhat repulsive, in all three phases of the game. That was no more clear than their 35-19 whooping by the Illinois State Redbirds of the FBS last Saturday.

We look at the three biggest takeaways from that game, hearing from Mike Bobo, Collin Hill and Jamal Hicks; three of the key leads for the Rams. What will CSU learn from that loss? And what does it mean for the team on the whole?

Undoubtedly, this is the perfect time for the Rams first bye week of the season, because they need to regroup if they want to rebound from a terrible start to the season.

And what about fans calling for Mike Bobo's job? We get into that and why it's not the right time, even without the buyout standing in the way.

After their devastating 48-10 loss to Florida on Saturday, the Colorado State Rams desperately need a bounce-back performance against Illinois State this weekend.

Of course, it's Ag Day and that brings the big-time Bar-B-Que, the orange out and the pumpkin and alfalfa jerseys. They're the best jersey combination the Rams have, and they're really good luck, as CSU has gone 8-0 all-time on Ag Day in those jerseys.

That's what makes this game a must-win. Or, at least, partly.

It's also a key game to earn a victory because Colorado State needs to go into the bye on a high note, and moving back up to 2-3 would bring them closer to .500 on the season just in time for that bye.

Colorado State's victory over Arkansas was monumental last week. Not only were they victorious, but they came back from 28 points down at one point to win 34-27.

It was by-far Mike Bobo's biggest win as head coach and he won the Dodd Trophy Coach of the Week Award for his team's effort.

Last week was laughably bad for Colorado State football.

The Rams were slaughtered by the Buffaloes in a 45-13 loss in which CSU's defense looked disinterested in tackling anyone. The Buffs ended up winning thanks to a 7-1 differential in explosive plays, which seemed to happen on every, single drive.

That, and the Rams' offensive play-calling lacked creativity as well as a desire to go deep. We go "first and 10" on that Showdown debacle, hearing from V.J. Banks, K.J. Carta-Samuels and Jordan Fogal before getting into the game against Arkansas.

Speaking of that game, it's only the second time in history an SEC team has visited Fort Collins. Can the Rams bounce back to beat a 1-0 Arkansas team? After a long, long wait, game week is finally here, Rams fans.

Colorado State hosts Hawaii this Saturday night at Sonny Lubick Field at Canvas Stadium and we give you game-by-bame predictions of how your Rams will finish this year.

Before that, we go deep into the first depth chart of the season. Who surprised? Well, on offense, it's basically exactly what we all expected, outside of the running back position. On defense, though, there's a grop of youthful starters, mainly on the defensive line, as well as Rashad Ajayi in the defensive backfield.

We go position-by-position and give expectations from each group and what the team will look like in terms of philosophy and more. We hear from Mike Bobo on the running backs, Colby Meeks on the offensive line and Wyatt Bryan on kicking as well as the Rocky Mountain Showdown.

We also get to some Next Level Rams news as many former Colorado State players are trying to make an impression in preseason as they look to make 53-man rosters across the country.

How far can the Colorado State Rams football team go this year?

It seems, as far as their coaching staff can take them. There has been a massive overhaul in terms of coaching at CSU this offseason, with six new coaches calling Fort Fun home. But, the biggest and most important constant has been Mike Bobo.

Unfortunately for everyone involved, Bobo has been experiencing numbness in his feet and was admitted to the hospital for further testing recently. We go through his and Joe Parker's statements following the scary trip to the doctors for Bobo.

On the field, Bobo's Rams went through their second scrimmage of the fall in preparation for the season's kickoff, which is now only 11 days away. Who impressed in that scrimmage and who could have done better? We go "1st and 10" for ten quick facts about the scrimmage, and then break down three of them in further detail.

We hear from linebacker leader Josh Watson as well as starting running back Izzy Matthews, who wants to be a "bad MF" this year.

Today, Earle Bruce passed away at the age of 87.

Without Bruce's leadership as head football coach in 1990 -- which included that Freedom Bowl, and first Rams bowl win -- Sonny Lubick likely couldn't have realized his success in the mid-late 90s.

And speaking of Lubick the legend, he was an instrumental member of Colorado State Athletics' new partnership with Public Service Credit Union and their $37.7 million deal to be the naming rights partner of the on-campus stadium. We give you all the details on that deal and what it means for the future of CSU athletics.

Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium started getting torn down this week, in what is a bitter-sweet ending for most CSU Rams fans.

Interestingly, Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Mike Tirico all tweeted about old Hughes and their memories, prompting us to ask you, the stalwart Rams fans, about your favorite memories and games.

Also, the NCAA announced a rules change to the kickoff, which could help to eliminate kickoffs entirely and is a bad move. We'll explain why.

Then, has Justice McCoy taken the quarterbacking lead? After last Sunday's scrimmage and the better stats than any other QB, Mike Bobo said McCoy will run with the "ones" this Sunday in the shorter version of the team's second spring scrimmage.

Finally, we transition to CSU football, who enjoyed their first scrimmage of the spring season. What did we learn from the scrimmage? Well, we bring you some of the stats and observations ahead of the Green and Gold Game which kicks off on April 21 at Noon.

The Green and Gold Game is about two weeks away, and we have all the details on it here. Including the New Belgium Porch being open to fans, starting at 11 a.m. MT on April 21.

Usually, you need a special ticket to get into the Porch, so if you want to see what it's like to take a game in from that vantage point, get there early.

The game will be general admission and free to the public, and the team is encouraging fans to sit on the west side of the lower bowl as most concessions will be open on that side.

In the spring game itself, there will be many players to keep an eye on. We give you the top names and positions to watch before moving into #B19Horns recruiting news. The Rams are incredibly active in recruiting this time of year, so we give a glimpse into who they're looking to land.

Then, in "Coach's Corner" we take a look at who could be Niko Medved's next assistant coach. He only has two on staff per the school, but we know of two more he's likely to hire next. Also, no new news on Kris Martin, although five players have decided to leave the women's team.

Colorado State and Washington State are set for a home-and-home series in 2022-23. That announcement came from CSU and Joe Parker this morning, making it official.

Now, the Rams have nine Power 5 opponents in the next decade as they continue to show the college football world they are ready to make that leap into a Power 5 conference.

Speaking of the Rams, we told you about K.J. Carta-Samuels in the last podcast and another, new graduate transfer may be coming to Colorado State soon. In fact, Mike Bobo tweeted out about "BIG NEWS" today, and we think he might be it. Get the news on that possible transfer inside this version of your Rams Cast.

Also, Niko Medved reportedly hired his third assistant coach. And, Kris Martin's future, with or without Oklahoma, may determine what happens with other CSU men's basketball players transferring or staying at the program.

Welcome to a packed episode of your CSU Rams Cast.

On Sunday, Colorado State announced the signing of graduate transfer quarterback K.J. Carta-Samuels, formerly of Washington, who will join the Rams in the summer and compete for the starting job. We give you the need-to-know info on him and his interesting journey to Colorado State, which almost was UCLA.

And, another graduate transfer was in Fort Collins over the weekend. We'll tell you about him and how his addition could be huge to the Rams in 2018.

In the second half, it's all about men's basketball. Niko Medved hired his first two assistants, Jase Herl is likely to be hired at another school and Craig Smith is back in the Mountain West as well. Soon, we'll have Medved vs. Smith in men's hoops, and what about Gonzaga joining the Mountain West? That would be huge.

Also, CSU hoops lost their first player as he looks to transfer, we'll tell you who, and who the team could be looking at signing.

Can Niko Medved dunk?

It seems unlikely, as a 5'11" dude, but his introductory press conference was a slam dunk on Friday morning.

In front of 100-150 Rams fans and about 10 media members -- as well as Athletic Director and boss Joe Parker -- Medved gave his first press conference as the head coach of CSU men's basketball on Friday. What Medved had to say made it seem like he was the perfect hire for Colorado State.

Simply, he'll be a 180 compared to the last coaching regime, in many ways. That goes for how he recruits, what he'll do in the community and even how his team will play on Moby's hardwood. Speaking of Moby Arena, Medved said walking through the arena today it brought back memories of that historic 2012-13 season, arguably the greatest in CSU men's basketball history.

Medved has seen this program at the highest of highs and lowest of lows; he's in position to pull it out of this nose dive and likely in a hurry.

We hear a lot from Medved in this podcast, as well as quotes from Daniel Bejarano, Anthony Bonner and Nico Carvacho on his contacting other teams.

On Monday, we met Mike Bobo at the on-campus stadium for his first press conference of spring football.

Of course, much of the conversation focused around Collin Hill, the should-be starting quarterback who injured his ACL for a second time less than two weeks ago. Hill, of course, will be held out of spring practices, and while Bobo is hopeful he could return in the fall, he's also "actively recruiting" another quarterback.

Bobo talked about what J.C. Robles and Justice McCoy bring to the team, saying the pressure is on those QBs currently during these spring practices as they try to prove they could be "the guy." And outside of Hill's injury, there are 10 more big-time injuries for the Rams.

So, with 33-34 scholarship players not in spring ball, the Rams aren't panicking and they're focusing on the fundamentals.

On Monday, Mike Bobo announced through a release that Collin Hill has re-injured and re-torn his ACL in his left knee.

For Rams fans -- and likely coaches, too -- this is devastating news.

Hill originally injured the knee in October of 2016, as a freshman, while playing against Utah State. After sitting all of 2017, Hill was in line to be the starter in 2018 and beyond. Now, not only will Hill not practice in the spring, he may not be ready to go when the season kicks off in five months.

So, that leaves Colorado State with a few options; start a QB already on the roster or go after a graduate transfer. We look at both options in the first half of the podcast, plus bring you some "Next Level Rams" news.

In the second half, we transition to basketball. There's a little on who could be CSU men's basketball's next head coach, there's some on the women's team in the WNIT and a little on National Champion Mostafa Hassan, too.

Colorado State men's basketball lost on Wednesday, ending not only their Mountain West tournament and season, but ending the Larry Eustachy Era once and for all.

New era, new coach. Who will it be?

Becky Hammon has been the talk of the nation as the Rams next head coach, and she'd make history once again if that became reality. Although, she's in line to be the NBA's first woman head coach; so would she take a step backwards to the NCAA? Also, who else could be the Rams next head man (or woman)? Well, Chris Crutchfield is an interesting candidate, as is T.J. Otzelberger of South Dakota State.

Simply, there are a litany of names who could do great things at CSU, we talk about those three and a few more.

And we also look at the rest of the Mountain West tournament, CSU Football's Pro Day and the home game festivities lined up for this season with the football team.

Meaning college basketball is taking center stage in the sporting world.

As for Colorado State Rams men's basketball, their march into March has been more a tired, sad saunter than an embattled, confident stroll into the postseason.

Luckily for CSU, on their third head coach of the year in Jase Herl, the Rams get to face No. 7 seed Utah State, a team the Rams have already beaten once this year. We look at why CSU has struggled at the end of the season, how they can rebound and win on Wednesday, and what it would take to win the entire Mountain West Tournament.

We also look at what Joe Parker is doing in terms of hiring a new men's head coach, and check in on the women's team, too.

Then, in the second half of the podcast, we look at Michael Gallup, who shined in his NFL Scouting Combine chance this weekend. And with CSU's Pro Day coming Wednesday, who else has a chance to be drafted from the Rams?

With so much happening inside Colorado State Athletics, specifically within the men's basketball program and concerning Larry Eustachy, many questions remained unanswered. That's because, after the month-long climate assessment of Eustachy's program, those findings were not released due to an amended employment agreement which allowed Eustachy to resign from the team and be paid $750,000.

Parker called that amount a "discount," and considering the $3 million Eustachy would have been owed for being fired without cause, it was just that, a discount. And now, Colorado State can move on.

But, during that round-table discussion with 10 media members, there were many questions about the assessment, about Eustachy himself, about what was found and much, much more. The second half of the podcast focuses in on that roundtable with Parker, which also concludes with what he's looking for in the next men's basketball head coach.

Yesterday, Larry Eustachy resigned from his post as Colorado State's head coach, a position he held for more than six years.

We take a minute to look back on the Larry Eustachy Era at CSU, the good and the bad times, as well as the pros and cons of Larry as a head coach.

Then, we switch gears and look at the many possibilities as next head coach for the Rams. Some names you've heard many times before, and some will be new; all with their own merits going forward. Could a lot of players leave CSU? It seems unlikely, unless they get a waiver and don't have to sit out a year.

That is discussed, as is the actual team, who lost despite a great effort, last Saturday at Nevada. Three things to know from that game and three things to get you ready for the regular season finale Wednesday night as New Mexico comes to Moby Arena for a 7 p.m. MT tip-off.

Jase Herl has been saying and doing all the right things in his role as interim head coach for the Colorado State Rams men's basketball team. But, can he stay on as the head coach next year?

Unfortunately for Herl, he's the right coach but at the wrong time. The Rams have lost 9-10 games -- including an historically bad loss on Wednesday night to Boise State -- and they face No. 20 Nevada on Saturday. He's trying to turn them around, as his quote Wednesday eluded to, but it may be too little, too late for Herl and the Rams this season.

If not Herl next year, than who? We look at Lamont Smith as a rising star in the coaching world, as well as a little bit on the FBI investigation into NCAA hoops and how it affects SDSU hoops.

The second half is all about CSU Football, as they've set the Green and Gold Game date and time and there may be some more scheduling news on the horizon as well. Finally, we talk the cornerback positional battles coming up in spring at one of the team's thinnest positions.

The Colorado State Rams are 1-1 under Jase Herl, but the changes are clear and evident for the school's men's basketball team.

Herl injected fun into his team during their first game together last Saturday and the Rams won. Outside of that, Herl has met with Ram Ruckus and interacted with students at the Lory Student Center while also opening multiple practices to the media. Simply, the program has changed quickly, for the better.

Speaking of the men's basketball team, they host a beastly Boise State team on Wednesday night (7 p.m. MT) and J.D. Paige announced via twitter he will make his return to the team after sustaining a broken hand three weeks ago.

The second half of our podcast looks at the positional battle among a stacked safeties group, one which has three starters and only two positions open. And, finally, what CSU athletes would compete at the Winter Olympics and in which events?

We start with the CSU men's basketball team and their massive win over San Jose State last Saturday, a huge victory due to the new head coach in Jase Herl asking them to play for fun. Nico Carvacho's "vente-vente" game was sensational, and that's discussed, as well as the historic 17-point fastbreak game in the win.

Tonight, Colorado State (11-16) faces Fresno State (18-8) at 5 p.m. MT on ESPN3, Krous and Kurtzman bring you the "3 things to know" about tonight's game in which the Rams try to keep the winning going.

Colorado State finally got back to their winning ways on Saturday, defeating San Jose State 90-79.

For the first time ever, Jase Herl was the head coach of the Rams men's team, being named to that interim position at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, with the game tipping off at 2 p.m. MT. Herl told his team to have fun, which we heard a lot from Nico Carvacho and Anthony Bonner in the postgame press conference. Why was having fun imperative to this team who had lost seven straight games? Well, it wasn't just the losing hurting CSU, but the wild distractions surrounding this team that they needed to shake off. (Read why it was important to get back to fun at the bottom of this post.)

After that huge win, which was Nico Carvacho's career game, we give you three things to take away from the victory. And then we move onto who could be CSU's next coach, if, indeed, the school moves on from Larry Eustachy.

Larry Eusachy and his representatives are set to meet with Joe Parker and Colorado State representatives early next week, but they have yet to meet, according to Parker's statement released Thursday.

On Thursday, the mens basketball players boycotted practice due to a lack of communication with the athletics department, and Parker also said in his statement that they have talked with the players and are looking to resolve everything as soon as possible.

We look at the long last couple of weeks for Colorado State men's basketball and the drama with Eustachy, and along with that, the team lost their big-time recruit Jordan Brangers on Thursday, too. Larry Eustachy has been placed on administrative leave from the Colorado State men's basketball team, leaving Steve Barnes -- his longtime friend and assistant coach -- as the interim coach for CSU.

Saturday's loss to Nevada -- a close one against the best team in the Mountain West -- was the first in six years without Eustachy on the bench for the Rams and the first Barnes has ever coached at CSU. We bring a bunch of quotes from Barnes after the loss and also read off a whole host of tweets from former Rams players who continue to defend Larry's coaching.

For Colorado State Rams basketball, a tough season has gotten a little ugly as of late.

The Rams have lost five straight games, which is the longest streak of losing in eight years, they're without their two best starters due to injury and it was found out on Wednesday by Justin Michael that Larry Eustachy's conduct is under investigation once again. We heard about the "culture of fear," as it was described, back in 2013, when it came out last year. Despite all the negative press, the Rams players rallied around their coach then.

That seemed to be happening again Wednesday night as the shorthanded men's basketball team put up a great fight and led the better Wyoming Cowboys for much of the game, only to fall apart at the end of both halves and end up losing in double overtime, 91-86.

We look at the information surrounding this "climate assessment" as Joe Parker said in a release on Wednesday and what it means for CSU men's basketball present and future.

All that is happening, while the players -- Anthony Bonner and Deion James among others -- have Eustachy's back and they all must prepare for another game tomorrow against the best in the Mountain West in Nevada.

We give you three things to look for in that game, including a great matchup possibility of forwards in Nico Carvacho versus Jordan Caroline.

Then, we look at some recruiting news, some coaching salaries from the football team and how CBS Sports says Michael Gallup is a first-round sleeper.

We kick off this podcast by celebrating what Michael Gallup was able to accomplish at the Senior Bowl last week. Dear world, meet Michael Gallup.

Gallup, who had already gained some national recognition for being a Biletnikoff Award finalist, is really turning heads this week at the Senior Bowl. We look through a litany of tweets from scouts and "draft experts" who are tuning into Senior Bowl practices and giving Gallup props. He's been called a "winner" of Days 1 and 2 of practice and there have been a handful of highlights (those tweets posted below).

The Senior Bowl kicks off at 12:30 p.m. MT on Saturday on the NFL Network; it's Gallup's final time to shine before the NFL Scouting Combine.

We also get into CSU men's basketball, who not only suffered a loss on Wednesday, but they lost J.D. Paige to injury, too. Paige broke his hand, as a CSU spokesperson confirmed today, and will be out for weeks. It's been a roller coaster ride of a week for the Colorado State Rams and their fans.

On Monday, it looked like CSU had landed a huge hire in Derrick Ansley, the DBs coach at Alabama, to be the Rams next defensive coordinator. The young, intelligent Ansley would have been perfect in Fort Collins, and his Crimson Tide won the National Championship that night. All while Rams head coach Mike Bobo was featured on the coaches film room, doing well there to represent the program.

But, then Ansley was lured away by the Oakland Raiders of the NFL, leaving Bobo and the Rams to scramble. According to reports, John Jancek will be the next defensive coordinator at Colorado State, and we give you a ton of information on where he's coached and how his defenses have done, most notably at Tennessee (2013-15).

More coaching news as Joe Cox interviewed at Tennessee and Bisi Johnson spoke at Green Mountain High School on Thursday.

Finally, we talk Prentiss Nixon's "flu game" on Wednesday, a phenomenal performance, playing through the pain of an injured knee to push the Rams to a huge road win. That, and more, on this episode of your Rams Cast.

After long last, the Colorado State Rams football team has their new defensive coordiantor in Derrick Ansley. Mike Bobo knocked this hire out of the park, hiring an up-and-coming, brilliant young football mind in Ansley, who's worked his tail off to move up through the college football coaching ranks.

We look at Ansley's history, which started at Troy University as a player, went through D-III Huntingdon College and has him currently with the Alabama Crimson Tide as their DBs coach. Of course, Rams fans know how important a new, exciting and exuberant defensive coordinator will be to the team's efforts in winning a Mountain West Championship as Bobo's offense has been stellar, but the offense has been terrible as of late.

We look at what Ansley did at 'Bama as well as the co-defensive coordinator at Kentucky and what that should mean for CSU's defense. Also, Ansley made his first hire, a promotion within the defense, which we tell you all about.

2017 was a year of incredible highs and crazy lows for Colorado State men's basketball as well as the CSU football team.

We take a second to reflect and look back on the wild year of 2017, in which men's basketball competed for a Mountain West championship for the first time in 14 years, while the football team came up far short of expectations. We give a nod to the best athletes, best individual performances, biggest wins and most heartbreaking losses. Hint: There's a lot on Gian Clavell and Michael Gallup in here.

On this 100th episode of your CSU Rams Cast, we start with the New Mexico Bowl loss to the Marshall Thundering Herd. For a third straight season under Mike Bobo, the Rams lost their bowl game. Why? Bobo explained it well himself, we bring you that quote from Albuquerque.

So, where does CSU football stand after the loss? Bobo said he fired defensive line coach Ricky Logo and special teams coordinator Jaime Bryant after the New Mexico Bowl loss, so the team now needs an entire defensive coaching staff, an offensive coordinator, a special teams coordinator and a 10th assistant, too. That leaves a lot of work for Bobo, after the early signing period which happened last Wednesday, and preparing for the coming National Signing Day in February, too.

Speaking of that early signing period, we look at how the Rams upgraded their defensive front and that side of the ball in general. Who could be immediate impact players for the Rams? We take a stab at that.

Then, your CSU hoops (7-6) team takes on Boise State (10-2) who's very good this year, especially at home. The Rams are 0-6 on the road while the Broncos are 7-0 at home; it's each team's first Mountain West men's basketball game of the year.

Joe Parker signed a much-deserved contract extension on Tuesday afternoon, Colorado State University announced. Parker was extended through the 2022 season, five more years, at the price of $2 million.

We look at what Parker's done in his first three years with the school, and it's actually a lot more than you may think. Also, what will he do in the near future?

He's been sitting in on a lot of Larry Eutschy's post-game pressers; is Larry saying and doing the right things? We examine Larry's team this year and how they've been a roller coaster ride of ups and downs during his six-year tenure.

Then, Mike Bobo interviewed six men including Charles Kelly, per reports. Kelly would be a massive hire for the Rams, but did they miss on him? With so many changes in coaching for Colorado State, our podcast revolves around them today. Will Friend and Terry Fair have departed Fort Collins for Knoxville, Tennessee to join Jeremy Pruitt of the Volunteers in the SEC.

For Friend and Fair, it's a step up to the P5 level, where each have already coached, and now it means the most important offseason for Mike Bobo as a head coach.

Bobo gets to hire his Defensive Coordinator and use that $540,000 that Friend made to spend on the hire, as well as a new Offensive Coordinator and DBs coach. In all, there are four positions open, and Bobo has a chance to shape this staff just the way he likes before what should be a huge 2018 season.

Who could be the next O.C. for CSU? We take a guess there before highlighting Michael Gallup's career at Colorado State. While he didn't win the Biletnikoff Award yesterday, Gallup did enjoy landing on two All-American teams.
