Brian Nichol, MD is a board-certified anesthesiologist who has been practicing chronic pain management in Arkansas for more than two decades. After noticing the benefits in his patients who were using cannabis, he became interested in its medical use for symptom management and has incorporated it into his treatment of interested pain patients for many years. Although an easy and safe medication for most patients to achieve some symptom improvement, Dr. Nichol recognizes that achieving optimal results is contingent on patient and industry education. Experience has demonstrated an individualized treatment plan is paramount in obtaining the best possible outcome for patients using medical cannabis.

Members of THSI Court Support Teams rise early in the morning, dress neatly – proudly adding THSI Solidarity Ribbon to their lapels – and often travel for miles to another city, county or state to reach an important cannabis court date for someone they barely know, or may not know at all. They perform this show of solidarity so that no cannabis defendant has to stand alone against the unjust and barbaric cannabis prohibition laws in the US.

Imagine having your entire life change suddenly – everything planned for your future becomes bleak – in an instant. In November of 2016, Nikki Lawley was a very active person – a pediatric nurse who enjoyed outings with her husband and dogs. She’d often go on short jaunts to nearby casinos where the 49-year-old professional moonlighted as a card dealer in the past . A New York native it seemed as if Lawley had it all – until one fateful day when everything came crashing down. “Life changed in a second , no warning , no preparation , just like that ….. Boom” she stated in an interview. During a routine doctor’s visit, a child frightened by needles head butted Lawley as she was holding onto him from behind while another nurse attempted to give a shot to the 10 yr. old boy. Nikki was hit frontally and then bounced off a plaster wall and back into the boy’s head in a significant whiplash motion. This was Lawley’s third TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) and the one that would forever change her life. The impact to her skull was severe and caused an immediate left arm paralysis and weakness and severe head and neck pain. Left with confusion, disorientation, and vision issues, doctors worked to properly treat her. Lawley was subsequently diagnosed with a Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI) and cervical instability and was then went through a mill of medical specialists, tests, and treatments. That was the last day she was able to work. The once joyful, fun, and energetic nurse was all of a sudden plagued with intense headaches, issues with fine motor skills, sensitivity to light, and cognitive issues that caused her great emotional and physical pain. Donald Trump often claims that some people have been trying to impeach him since the day he was sworn in. He's right.
Stewart speaks with Ron Fein, of Free Speech for People, whose organization has drafted six different Articles of Impeachment

YWC is underwritten by the Robert H. Smith Center for the Constitution at Montpelier, the historic home of the Father of the Constitution, James Madison.
Does Trump deserve impeachment? After the release of declassified documents this week revealing that every seated president through the Afghanistan war has been guilty of misleading the American public without any clear understanding of what the actual situation overseas may be one can’t help but wonder if the entire federal government itself isn't worthy of dissolution. Join Libertarian presidential candidate and long time freedom activist Adam Kokesh broadcasting inside "No Force One" as he continues his mission to create a more peaceful, productive & harmonious world for us all.

Armed with a gift to compassionately communicate and stand her ground in the face of tyranny Joie made a commitment to work hard to promote the change of the archaic laws that have been making victims of the people they were written to protect for generations.
Civilian Platoon 420 is a group of dedicated activists and advocates from all over the nations who believe that compassion & nature hold the answers to the epidemic sweeping our nation. The Drug War is out of control! Every day 100’s of people lose their freedoms and their lives resulting from the archaic grasp of prohibition. No one is immune and none of us signed up for this, we are ALL soldiers in The Drug War! We are driven by a single goal: to do our part in passing the compassion and breaking through the dangerous stigmas that plague society today.
Now that cannabis has been legalized at some level in 33 states plus the district with 11 states allowing responsible adult use, you’d think the tyranny would end. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be the case.
If the role of the federal government is to protect its citizens, how has this gone unaddressed for so long? In 1996, California became the first state to allow the medicinal use of cannabis, within just 10 years, 11 other states hopped on board. Now here we are, 13 years later and while laws begin to become more lax, the harassment of peaceful citizens is hardly dwindling.

allegedly justified by something called “unit cohesion,” is actually based upon
unconstitutional animus aimed at trans people."

They just legalized cannabis in another state. There is a Cannabis Cup in Detroit. The House just votred to defund the DEA on enforcement in states that are legal. All is well in the land of "ending prohibition". NOT SO FAST.
While plenty of people. politicans, media and organizations are touting how good things are, people are still dying, still being denied access and still being jailed for all things cannabis. Eben in states that have so called legalization. Raids in California, Washington, shutting done medical care givers and private grows, limiting medical access basd on arbitray lists of ailments by people who are not experts, and prosecutions and jail.
We do nto need to be complacent. We need to step it up and make sure that the path that is started is bulldozed through the oppression. We need to step and take care of each other. Let's talk about it.

"The Goldwater Rule prohibits psychiatrists and psychologists from diagnosing anyone unless they have examined the patient personally.
But some health care professionals insist that another ethical concept trumps the Goldwater Rule: the duty to warn others if a patient is a threat.
The “patient” in question is Donald Trump, and these professionals have decided to warn the world that he is dangerously mentally ill. They’ve even written a book: Rocket Man: Nuclear Madness and the Mind of Donald Trump.
We hear from both sides on this contentious issue: Dr. Charles Dike of Yale, who defends the Goldwater Rule, and Dr. John Gartner, who taught for many years at Johns Hopkins, and who is one of the founders of the group Duty to Warn."

Everyone, it seems, has an opinion on immigration. The problem is that those opinions are often diametrically opposed.
Enter Stewart's colleague at Lincoln Memorial University’s Law School, Akram Faizer. Akram recently published an intriguing article in the Tennessee Law Review in which he suggests that conservatives and liberals might be able to agree on a policy employed by other nations: a much-expanded guest-worker and asylum program -- without a path to either permanent residency or naturalization.
But what about that pesky Fourteenth Amendment? Could guest workers effectively waive the rights of their unborn children to citizenship? Congress could certainly pass a law to that effect, but it would certainly be challenged. No doubt some children of guest workers would eventually object to the denial of what they would consider their constitutional birthright.
Join us for a timely and controversial discussion

Steve Sarich has been a fierce advocate for liberty, human rights and more specifically, access to cannabis for medical patients, as much as anyone in history. He has walked the halls of the Washington State Legislature and Agencies for two decades fighting for access to Cannabis for anyone for medicinal reasons. Today he is presently in Thailand. He is stopping by to tell us a wonderful story
As what was described by legislators as a gift to the people, the Thai parliament, on Christmas day, 2018, legalized medical cannabis.
This move sent a shockwave around the world, but nowhere was the impact greater than it was is in the western pharmaceutical industry, who has spent decades wrangling for sole control over the cannabis plant, that they had demonized since the 1970's.
Their response to this surprise announcement was almost instantaneous, filing a total of 39 patents with the Thai patent office in an attempt to stop Thailand from producing medical cannabis for the Asian market.
A mere 5 months after passage, a Thai medical research group at Rangsit University announced that they will begin human trials this month on a drug to treat lung cancer.
This very well could be the sea change that medical cannabis proponents have been pushing for years. Could this on even, in SE Asia, be the end to the attempt by Big Pharma to lay claim to cannabinoid medicine?

Candis is an organizer with Cannabis Open Carry Walks. She has been a Cannabis patient for 15 years. She has PTSD, severe anxiety, panic attacks, major depression disorder and a personality disorder. She has been prescribed medications, including 3 per day. She couldn't take care of her children. One time when she did not have any medical insurance someone suggested she try Cannabis. It was the best decision of her life. What prescription pills destroyed, using cannabis restored. Pharmaceuticals has never worked nearly as good as cannabis has.
In order ot help patients properly WE NEED TO HAVE ACCESS TO THE WHOLE PLANT. Limited thc is not enough. The thc level in Texas still is not enough for many Cannabis refugees to be able to come back and visit with their family. Texas needs full legalization! Too many lives are at stake! Candis believes no one should go to jail for a plant. Candis started fighting for Cannabis with Cannabis Open Carry Walks a 1yr ago. Cannabis and its medical benefits was why she started this fight Her son being locked up has made here fight harder. Cannabis Open Carry Walks is a group of amazing Cannabis activists all over Texas. They have walks all over to spread information and educating the public on why needs to be legalized. They also go to Austin to testify on any upcoming legislation. Candis is proud to be one of many in Texas that work so hard to bring Cannabis freedom in Texas to light. .

Amy Wolfinbarger is a long time Ohio cannabis reform activist. She is the founder of Sensible Norwood and author of the Norwood Cannabis Ordinance. After an original ballot placement denial and a challenge before the State Supreme Court, she rewrote the initiative in 2018, acquired ballot placement and passed her ordinance by 73% of the vote. She also rallied her community and prevented a permanent ban on cannabis businesses.
In addition to her work in Norwood, Amy has volunteered on numerous statewide legalization initiatives. She was regional coordinator for Ohio Rights Group, regional manager for Ohioans to end prohibition and southwest regional coordinator for Ohioans for medical marijuana. She testified before the Senate for HB523. Amy also sat as Executive Director for Miami Valley Norml where she organized events, signature drives, educational meetings, participated in letter writing campaigns and lobby day events.
Because of her work as a grassroots activist, Amy has spent a great deal of time out in the community. She has developed a true passion for people and local politics. She firmly believes people should have a voice in government. When you combine her belief in democracy, and passion for her community, it only makes sense that she is now running for Norwood City council.

And is there anything we can do about it? Well, it turns out that the courts haven’t been very helpful, for a couple of very constitutional reasons."

Whether it’s been organizing relief aid to disaster zones, pushing our leaders to help the neediest, or standing up to powerful interests, Eleazar Meléndez has dedicated his life to positive change.Seeing the immense need for that kind of leadership in local politics, Eleazar is running for city commissioner in Miami, which would make him one of the five legislators that run the city.
Eleazar has a vision of service that takes on Miami’s most pressing issues head on— where children play in safe and clean streets, where people going to and coming from work are not stuck in traffic for hours, where neighbors are part of a resilient community that helps each other in times of crisis. It’s a vision where Miami further prioritizes addressing flooding worsened by sea level rise and natural disasters made more frequent by climate change, where we do something about the high cost of housing, and fix the traffic nightmare here. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Eleazar graduated with a B.A. from Columbia University in the City of New York. His first job, in the heart of Wall Street during the worst of the 2008 global financial crisis, exposed him to a unique perspective -- seeing with his own eyes how the big banks used the crisis, and the politicians who protected them throughout, to continue abusing regular people and small business.

Is it time to stock up on bottled water and toilet paper? Or is the situation on our southern border something less than a real emergency?
Our guest is Andrew Boyle, who works in the Liberty and National Security Program at the Brennan Center for Justice. He and Stewart have an enlightening conversation that starts at the very beginning: What, precisely, constitutes a “national emergency?” Who gets to declare one? And what happens then?
Specifically, can Donald Trump use the powers granted to the Executive during the current national emergency to build his wall? He’ll face a fair amount of resistance, and Andrew and Stewart consider the various forms it will likely take."

Free the non violent Prisoners, Free the Plant Free the planet!!! The mantra of Jeff Eichen. "I’m making this movie to set the record straight. That nobody should be in prison for a plant and that the Global Prison system needs reform.
Three years ago on my birthday, I was talking to Sharon Whitson the executive producer of Seattle’s HempFest and Sharon told me she was hosting two lifers. I paused and then asked her, what is a lifer? Sharon’s answer to me was that it is a person in jail for life without parole for the outdated prison sentence program for 3 strikes and the War On Drugs in the United States of AMERICA. The land of the home and the free/ Liberty and justice for all/ E Cannabis Unum. As tears began to rush down my cheek, I spoke out that on this day I will dedicate my life to filming and telling the story of these remarkable humans who are sacrificing their freedom for their beliefs in marijuana. And I was not a filmmaker before embarking on this journey. Now three years later Lifers my 1st in the Series of 6 Documentaries is ready to get this party started. We intend to end probation, through Film."

THSI is a grassroots, civil rights organization of concerned citizens focused on restoring the rights of those negatively affected by cannabis prohibition with education, active support networks, a legal clearinghouse and peaceful protest.
In line with our mission statement this show is intended for educational, civil and productive conversations about the effects of cannabis prohibition and how to end it.
We strive to provide a platform for the voiceless the unheard victims of cannabis prohibition –cannabis defendants. No caller will ever be turned away – we welcome a discourse of different ideas, opinions and viewpoints.
A small group of dedicated, committed, drama free activists can get so much more than a large group with all of humanity's achilies heal weaknesses.... learn about them and what it takes to really make a difference!
Alliances! the key to success is building a network of allies and partnerships, especially in the world of volunteers. Thsi has been working hard for 10 years to comingle resources with other organizations as well as forge relationships and work on projects... find out how that's worked out and better yet find out what's brewing now..
new alliances and new projects.
keep showing up to work... that is one of the fundemental cornerstones of the "A team"
got what it takes?
call in or better yet join the team!
With THSi elections approaching quickly, we've found that many are looking at the facts and standing with the one that never walked away from the fight in more than 10 years now. not pushing for some weak, sell your soul legislation but pushing for the dream... a world where the cannabis plant is not a crime... at all!
We will continue to sharpen our dream and vision!
Becca will bring another gem.
A new project will be announced
updates and commentary from Craig Cesal, George Martorano, Pete Yeaple, Glenn Keeling, Tom Korby and so much more.....
Also another tale of our history. this one's a real heartbreaker... weakness or skullduggery? you decide.
see you on Wed!
Elections are fast approaching and I've done everything I can to bring it to your attention and make it easy to participate.
Think No one goes to Jail for pot in Colorado?
Amy Case King joins us to tell us about it and how to get the court to admit your letter into the court record!
Now it's time to clear the air about a few things. It has come to my attention that some of the "FB" folk that I have blocked years ago have been poking their heads up in the live feed on (oh yeah... fb) and spewing their usual venom... I have always taken the high road and refrained from the limp membered method of slinging arrows on social media and will continue to do so. I have also refrained from telling what really happened if anything with refrenece to any of these accusations as I have always felt that if there was something to defend against, it would look like evidence rather than accusation.
However I've been studying people and brains and stuff and it turns out that humans are more easily influenced by rumor and accusations than by evidence based reason.... So, I am as always going to give an opportunity for any accusor to come on live and state their claim but this time i'm going to tell y'all what really happened..... I will omit dates names and locations but it's going to get real.... this is a one time event, once said i'm going to put it to bed for good......
on to some nicer stuff... We're going to get back to the work of describing the vision of what a world without prohibition looks like and continue our reality based plans to accomplish it......
if time permits, we're going to talk about what secret I learned that promotes long life and what it has to do with activism and activists.... hope you can stand it!
see you Wed...

For nearly ten years The Human Solution has been educating and supporting victims of the drug war with a mission to end prohibition! Yet here we are in a world with horrible "legalization" laws and a labyrinth of traps and pitfalls. I am confident that if everyone that we ever touched, helped or had helped at one time or another had stayed the course and done what they said or maybe more importantly not done what they said they wouldnt.... that we would be in a much different place... we would either have torn down the wall or it would be much closer.. I'm going to delve deep into these stories, telling them as fables without names... if YOU were ever involved with THSI and were helped or had a falling out, I will be telling the tale and an alternative endingl.. the one that would have brought our dream to life...
find out the real story about those we helped, and if you have a story to tell I welcome you to join the suarez.

Hello my name is Tonya Sanders and I am 37 and I have been sick on and off since middle school, but about 10 yrs ago I was diagnosed with advanced lupus, fibromyalgia, and a million other things..Let’s just say we’ve been through ALOT in these past 10 years.
Here are just some of health things I went through. Stroke, heart and liver problems ,bacterial meningitis 2 times, coma, pain pumps, abscess, systemic fungal infections, sepsis, peg tubes, ports, PICC lines, blood transfusions, multiple surgeries,100s of infections in and out of hospital every month. Then one day I had an appointment with pain management and they told me they were going to cut my pain medication back because of opioid crisis going on!!!! So the next day I started withdrawing BAD.
Started off with nausea, then came horrific pain ,anxiety, vomiting, suicidal, skin crawling.....So I tried to tuff it out for 3 more days,my husband and I we couldn’t do it anymore. We had been researching medical marijuana prior to them wanting to decrease medication but I had never tried it because I was so scared. So I called a friend and had them bring over some medical cannabis by the time I walked back to my porch from trying it everything I had been experiencing for the past 10yrs and last 4 days was GONE!!!!!! Ever since that day my whole life has changed This has been my MIRACLE,!Plus I’m down to just 2 medicines for my lupus and that is it!!!! Also my rheumatologist just told me that my lupus is in REMISSION!!!!! I know for a fact that this plant saved my life and it is my mission now in life to help educate and spread awareness about this miracle plant!!!!!!Please let Medical Marijuana be a patients first choice instead of lastThank you for taking time to read and hope my story can help others!!!

Join us as we speak with a special guest Sarah Swain running for Attorney General of Kansas!
From her public page,
"Equal Justice
As Attorney General, I will work tirelessly to ensure equal justice for all Kansans. I will work with local law enforcement agencies and provide oversight, accountability, and transparency in all cases."
"ENDING CANNABIS PROHIBITION
I support the decriminalization or legalization of cannabis and hemp agriculture. Kansas needs a common-sense approach to licensing and regulation of cannabis agriculture, manufacturing, testing, distribution and compliance. When elected, I will work with the legislature, state and local governments agencies, including law enforcement, business, farmers, industry leaders, the medical community, educators and most importantly all Kansans. I will ensure that Kansas is protected from Federal overreach via the 10th Amendment, end the war on drugs and ensure a safe market. I will work hard to allow sick Kansans access to both CBD and legal cannabis."

I am impossible to put in a box or category. I am a very nuanced person who strives to live life with honesty and integrity. I do not subscribe to any religion, but I am spiritual. I have a strong set of values that combine radical idealism and vision with radical pragmatism. I am a cultural revolutionary who wants to see us create a peaceful and sustainable society. I am a professional political operative who specializes in government affairs and business development. I work a lot in the small business and corporate world. I drive a nice car to work and wear a suit but walk barefoot when gardening and communing with the beautiful life that surrounds my rural home. I could support the Libertarian party if they believed more in the tight regulation and oversight of big business. I am a passionate father who is teaching my children to be respectful, independent, evidence-based thinkers who are not obedient to authority. I am married to a most wonderful Mexican woman and we had our first child together in December of 2014. In essence, I am a passionate person and apply myself to life to the fullest.

Tune in to listen to an interview with Dr. Lisa Roark." I was born and raised in Exeter, Mo where I graduated from High School (3 miles from where I now live and work). Married my high school sweetheart, Griff, then moved to Kansas City to attend college at UMKC-School of Medicine (BLA and MD degrees). Moved to Springfield for Family Medicine residency. Then practice at Cox Aurora for 5 years before opening Roark Family Health in Cassville 3 years ago. I have 4 children, live on a farm outside of Cassville and am very active in the community (currently running for school Board, on Rotary Board, YMCA Board, Health Department Board and coach softball for my daughter's tadpole team). I love camping, boating, yoga and reading. My clinic is pretty unique. It's direct primary care with a medical spa, full line of CBD products and essential oils. My name is Robert Kowalski and I am the founder of Veterans Ending The Stigma, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. In 2006 I joined the US Air Force as a Security Forces member (Military Police). In 2007 I went on my first combat deployment to Iraq as a corrections officer for Camp Bucca in southern Iraq for 8months. In 2009 I deployment for my second combat tours to Iraq on a Police Transition Team with the mission to train Iraqi police officers for a full year. In 2010 I was diagnosed with PTSD, severe and Chronic Pain and a TBI. I took my treatment into my own hands and chose cannabis over the pills that were pushed on me. This led to my discharge from the military in 2011 with a general discharge under honorable conditions. Through the VA I was deemed 90%disabled and Unemployable. In 2012 I moved from Ohio to Arizona where I became a medical marijuana card holder. I was blessed with the ability to volunteer my time at a cultivation facility where I was able to work on my treatment and stopped taking the 22pills a day that were perscribed to me by the VA. In 2014 I moved back to Ohio to try and save my grandmother's life, who was dieing from cancer. After her passing I joined the movement to end the Cannabis proabition. I founded my organization in 2016 to assist the Veteran community and use my Veteran status to promote change. I assisted in Ohio legislation with testimony and visiting Senators and Representatives to discuss my concerns for the Veteran community and there choice to use cannabis for treatment. This lead a Veteran Clause insuring that Veterans are going to be assisted. I 2017 I was given opportunities to speak at various conferences on the Veterans and cannabis issue in 4 different states across the US to include OH, PA, MI and IL. At the end of 2017 I was invited to work with another Veteran and NGOs on the International Drug Treaty to revisit the cannabis issue and change the schedule of cannabis. and, what makes change really........

All over the US and Canada as well as other nations, "Legalization" of cannabis is being discussed and laws are being passed. so far, most have been "Stepping Stones" to actually decriminalizing the plant and in the US, none trump the federal CSA when the gubment wishes to flex it's muscle, it does. Why do good people continue to break the law when it comes to this plant and why do organizations like The Human Solution international defend them?
I invite you to call in this week if you are a defendant facing cannabis charges whether or not you were following your state laws, if you are advocating for someone that fits this description or if you disagree and feel that "the law is the law" and the only way to be correct is to change the law.....

The Democratic Party is an all-inclusive party. It supports various ideas. It is important to note that while it supports various ideas it also must have inalienable principles. These include equal access to success, civil rights, worker rights, and much more. It does not require rocket science to understand that healthcare rights must be one. And the definition of healthcare rights is Medicare for All. And the private sector must never have veto rights any of our inalienable rights.
In that light, it is imperative that going forward that Medicare for All is a litmus test for every Democrat running for office. Requiring support also forces candidates to educate the masses in contrast to the misinformation that will continue to come from the healthcare industrial complex and corrupt corporatist politicians.

This is the week where many Trump supporters are realizing the evils Trump represent. But let's not take our eyes off of the ball. While it is clear that by his actions Trump must be considered a white nationalist, it is only a tool to achieve his destructive agenda. So as we cover all the Alt-Right stories, let's not forget to expose all the sabotage on many fronts effected by the Trump administration and the Republicans.

With jury rights day approaching on September 5th we thought we would kick start the leadup with an interview with:
Kirsten Tynan is Executive Director of the Fully Informed Jury Association. FIJA is a 501(c)(3), non-profit educational organization focusing on the traditional, protective role of the jury in our legal system. FIJA seeks to preserve the full function of the jury as the final arbiter in our courts of law by informing everyone about their rights and responsibilities when serving as trial jurors, including the right of conscientious acquittal by jury nullification.
Judge Neil Gorsuch, the president’s nominee to the Supreme Court, calls himself an originalist. But what does that mean?
"Originalism proclaims that the Constitution should be interpreted according to how it was understood at the time of its ratification in 1789 and similarly for amendments, starting in 1791. Policy arguments and the consequences of different interpretations simply do not matter. For originalists, the Constitution is not alive; it is dead, static." Washington Post
Guest Bob Woodburn will speak with me about the roots of Originalism, how it differs from Strict Constructionism, and what difference either makes to matters of law in 2017.
We will also discuss contradictions between what Justices may say they are, and how they vote on matters like the Citizens United decision.

Tune in to hear what The Human Solution International is working on and to hear from some true powerhouses!
Democrats must up their game starting now if they want to see a blue wave in 2018. If they want to recover the more than a thousand seats lost throughout the states and take over the Senate and House, they must come out with a bold plan that makes the average American believe they will shake things up to move forward.
The Democrats' new slogan does not inspire. It does not give us hope that Democrats will shake things up. It is time for Progressive to go directly to the people without going through the prism of the Democratic Party Establishment. Win those elections in the primaries with bold ideas. Assign blame where it belongs and articulate the real changes that they will make.

The Republican Party is in dire straits. They have a president embroiled in the Russia Scandal. They have a health care bill nobody likes. Tom McCain recently was named the new Executive Director of Peachtree NORML. Peachtree NORML, along with other organizations, is one of the leading voices in Georgia against Cannabis Prohibition. Tom McCain's leadership appointment is important because Tom is a retired Deputy Sheriff and Veteran. He retired as the Chief Deputy of Johnson County and holds a specialized Senior Deputy Certification. An Air Force Veteran retiring as a Master Sergeant after 20 years of service. After his retirement from law enforcement, Tom was reintroduced to cannabis as a way to deal with chronic back pain. He began doing research about cannabis and used himself as a test patient. He is illegally healed and has been able to stop the usage of numerous pharmaceuticals prescribed by the Veterans Administration. Once Tom discovered that the Prohibition of Cannabis was based on racial bias and corporate greed, he got active in the movement to reform Georgia’s Draconian marijuana laws. “I have made it my mission to end cannabis prohibition in Georgia.”. In our segment, POWER TO THE PEOPLE we give information about opportunities for activists. Are there events we should not promote? Is counter activism a good thing? Can we be peaceful and powerful in the face of opposing activists?
This question was raised by Portland, OR mayor Wheeler after the murders of two good samaritans who came to the aid of two dark skinned teenage girls, one wearing a hijab. Given the pain and public outcry after this incindent, he is asking that two events be canceled: the first is the TRUMP FREE SPEECH RALLY scheduled for Sunday, June 4th; and the second is the "March Against Sharia" scheduled for June 10th. Both events are planned in a plaza that is managed by the U.S. government, which offers permits for demonstrations.
Does our first amendment right to free speech trump our common decency approach to grief and mourning? Can we exercise our right to free speech and our right to free counter speech peacefully?

The Trump voter is not yet abandoning Donald Trump in droves. It is decidedly a trickle. What I noticed is that many, when asked, say they do not follow the news. When Trump was wooing them it was all things, Trump. But now the few that get the real news are starting to see how their personal economies would be affected. This is an opportunity for Progressives to enter their sphere, gain some familiarity, and then effect change.

Then we will spend some time ron the question: activism for or activism against?
Is there a danger in activism AGAINST? The March Against Monsanto was against many contemporary agribusiness practices, but it was also FOR many things: the bees, our health, food without fear of consequences. AGAINST can be powerful but can it be compassionate?
"March for Women, March for Science, March for Truth: activism FOR is powerful, but can it be compassionate? Is there power in looking beyond what we fear in order to see what it is we hope for in our country? In our world? Let’s talk!

The Liberal Redneck has all but given up on the Trump voter. In many ways, he echoes much of the conversations at Liberal and Progressive websites like the DailyKos and others. Many Progressives continue to talk about base elections. We just need to get our base out. My contention is that it is deeper than that. It is true there is voter suppression. But it is also true there are systemic reasons why people vote against their interests.

I promised going forward I will not be dedicating most of my blogging time on the likely Trump Russia corrupt entanglement. Bloggers neither have the resources nor the avenues for that type of required investigative research. What I will do is continue to share new information in my sphere of influence. It is important that all subscribe to investigative rags to ensure they have the resources to keep their investigations going.
That said, there are many other issues that directly affect us all including our working class brothers and sisters that irrespective of the Russia story outcome, will need to have people focused on their issues. For all practical purposes, the mainstream media is unable to walk and chew gum. Bloggers must.
Today we will talk a little Russia, but most importantly we must discuss how to ensure the issues that affect middle-class and poor American is not placed on a waiting list.

Economists continue to posit that automation is a big problem that is likely the biggest factor in employment. We must rethink how our economy works. Automation is only a problem if we follow the extractive nature of capitalism which has become our lord thy god, an idol. We must remember that an economy serves the people and not the other way around. I started this discussion on my Thursday KPFT show and believe that it needs additional coverage.

A long planned TAX MARCH will occur in DC and across the country this Saturday, April 15, 2017
HWhy We March: President Trump is the first president or major-party presidential candidate in four decades to refuse to release his tax returns to the public. We march to demand that the president release his returns, as he has repeatedly promised, but failed, to do. We march because it is in the best interest of the American people to know what financial entanglements and conflicts of interest our leaders have. Because we need to know if the president is personally profiting from the policies he is proposing. And because we want know if he has contributed his fair share of taxes. We march because we will not stand by while the rich and the powerful govern this country guided only by their personal best interests, and not the best interests of the American people as a whole. Read more at https://taxmarch.org/principles-dc-march/
One of the founding goals of Coffee Party USA was Tax Reform. We consider the system broken, not bad. Big money has used lobby power and campaign contributors to escape financial reponsibility for being a part of the American Village. We can begin this process in advance of the current budget actions by asking our presidnet take the first step.

Trump sent 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles to an airbase in Syria that remained operational. Russia shows tremendous restraint in their response to the strike. Guitar virtuoso and rock legend, Steve Hackett (formerly of Genesis), is set to release his latest album ‘The Night Siren’ on March 24th, 2017 through InsideOut Music (Sony). As implied in the title, ‘The Night Siren’ is a wake-up call… the warning of a siren sounding in this era of strife and division. I recently hung out with Steve on the Cruise to the Edge 2017 and we discussed what inspired him to make this album and the messages he hopes to reach people with. The album's first track 'Behind the Smoke' is about the refugee crisis. Not just now but in history as well. Steve, like many of us, is a descendant of refugees as his grandparents had to flee Poland in the late 1800's. Please join me as I welcome this legendary artist as we discuss his career, his life, his activism and his desire for a world filled with Peace and Justice first. Longtime Advocate, Journalist, Activist, Radio Host & Producer Bobby Rodrigo brings you "I Take LIBERTY With My Coffee" on Coffee Party USA and Green Light Radio. Feel free to listen in or call in to participate. We look forward to hearing from you!
I gave kudos to the media last week as many grew spines and started doing real journalism. This week many of these same journalists succumb to a Donald Trump speech that had a facade of humaneness but was nothing but a harsh inhumane instantiation of what he has been talking about throughout his campaign.

Abraham Lincoln saw us through the greatest constitutional crisis in our history. But he was more than 50 years old when he became our President. How did he spend the first half-century of his life? Mostly, he practiced law. We’ll speak with Steven Wilson, the Curator and Assistant Director of the Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum at Lincoln Memorial University.Your Weekly Constitutional is hosted by Constitutional Law Professor Stewart Harris. Stewart teaches Constitutional Law at the Appalachian School of Law (ASL) in Grundy, Virginia. In 2011, Professor Harris created a public radio show, Your Weekly Constitutional, which is produced at WETS-FM, the NPR affiliate in Johnson City, Tennessee, and syndicated nationally. YWC is underwritten by the Robert H. Smith Center for the Constitution at Montpelier, the historic home of the Father of the Constitution, James Madison.

Americans must be pleasantly surprised this week. Over the last few weeks, there has been a crescendo of mainstream media personalities challenging the deluge of lies emanating from Trump and his administration. CBS’s Scott Pelly challenged his CPAC speech. CNN’s Wolf Blitzer challenged Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) for her lie about resistance protesters being paid. MSNBC’s Craig Melvin called out Trump’s spokesman Bruce Levell for lying about Trump addressing recent anti-semitic activities in the country.
The mainstream news media must continue to improve. It is existential for them now.

The Trump administration is trying to respin the mainstream media as the purveyors of fake news. While they brought it onto themselves with their general ineptitude and inability to conduct real journalism over the last several decades, we cannot allow Trump to delegitimize them. If we do that, we leave a vacuum that he will fill with the real fake news.

Coffee Party USA is seven years old today. It is a great day to say thanks for the memories and ask what's next.
Born in a caldron of divisive vitriol, our commitment to WAKE UP and STAND UP using the tools of CIVILITY and REASON are more important than ever.
Say happy birthday to Coffee Party by sending $7 today! Go tohttps://coffeepartyusa.nationbuilder.com/donate and put $7 in the "other" box. We'll send you a "Civility is Patriotic" bumper sticker.
Many of us (and many of you) have just participated in the single biggest demonstration in history: The Women's March in DC and all the sister marches across the country and around the world. Marchers carried signs and led chantes about calls for human rights and concerns about the future. One thing we all agree upon: we must #StayInvolved
Over the years Coffee Party has collaborated with dozens of like minded organizations. On our Facebook page, in twitter, etc we work to keep you informed about ways you can express your inner active citizen.
On next week's show we want to ask you: what are you up to and how can we help? Our GROUNDHOG DAY Special is designed for you to call in, chat, leave an email to be read on the air or leave a voice mail to be played during the show. You get the chance to promote your local efforts, shout out for organizations you are following, or just say thanks to everybody out there who has pledged solidarity to issues not parties and to America, not politicans,

Diane Sawyer did a great job on 20/20 last night giving a voice to many forgotten Americans. We will explore the angst and ills of those who continue to suffer in silence, our declining middle-class.
As we start to believe in our worth and assert it, demanding what is ours by hitting the streets, forcing the hands of our representatives, and electing progressives will begin the transformation.

Macey Tomlin and Matt Kahl have been advocates for plant medicine for some time. For years, Americans have turned to the pharmaceutical companies for a solution to their unhappiness. The Journal of the American Medical Association states the percentage of Americans taking antidepressants nearly doubled between 1999 and 2012.Macey has been an advocate for the therapeutic properties of psychedelics for six years. After her first Ayahuasca ceremony, she became interested in the growing rate of depression and anxiety in western cultures and believes scientific studies will move people will away from big Pharma. Matt comes by way of education meeting reality. Matt's concentration in college was Behavioral Neuroscience, Psychopharmacology of the indole alkylamine hallucinogenics and eCB receptor chemistry. Discovered sacred medicinal plants and studied academically and experientially. Cannabis, mushrooms, cacti, and tropical shrubs. Matt joined the Army and was a member of the "Band of Brothers". His service time resulted in him attempting suicide, injured in battle, feeling that he abandoned his combat brothers, and now suffering from PTSD. The standard military treatment regimen put Matt into a cage with bars made of pills and pharmaceutical regimens, and his own house became his prison. Macy lost a close family member to suicide at the age of 12 because of the antidepressant Paxil. We will discuss these issues and how plant medicine of all types create avenues of physical and mental health without the damaging side effects we are forced to use by government. Macey plans to build a wellness center in Acapulco that centers around the use of Ayahuasca and possibly MDMA therapy as well. Matt works with Veterans for Natural Rights, appeared on Viceland, NBC Dateline, and CBS This Morning. He devotes his life to this as a way to help his brothers and sisters suffering from PTSD, Please join us.
The story is too common in our society today. Prohibition has destroyed lives and killed people, both from lack of access for medical purposes, and from filling prisons. Cannabis; medical, recreational, argicultural, should not be prohibited from complete access in our society. Period. Tennessee offers us the complete spectrum of what is wrong with prohibition. Meet Susan, Cecily and Dave. All are patients in need. Cannabis is their salvation and Tennessee is their home. These three wonderful people are the examples as to why we must not allow prohibition to continue in our society. People are dying. Families are being destroyed. Every day. Susan, Cecily and Dave tell us their history, their medical battles, their activism and why they are seeking justice in Tennessee. Tennessee Medical Cannabis Patients and Activist Group, Tennesee Cannabis Coalition and Tennessee NORML are five of the organizations working together to fix the access issues in Tennessee and save lives. We discuss their personal struggles, Tennessee proposed legislation and elected officials who continue to work against what is best for the citizens of Tennesee. Please join us for this importnat discussion. Journalism and Activism: the witness and the witnessed.
In this day and age the world, and especially the online world, is awash in communication. The vast majority of this communication, however, is not news and especially not journalism. (If you did any of the homework reading you will recognise this quote from AmericanPressInstitute.ORG).
Guest journalist Cheryl Hatch will help us understand the difference.
Full disclosure. Cheryl and I have known each other for over 20 years. She was my husband’s journalism student. We met when she returned from Iraqi Kurdistan during Desert Storm. I have had the pleasure of witnessing Cheryl’s career evolve.
Cheryl is just back from a trip (as a journalist) to Standing Rock and she and I will be attending the Women’s Rally in Washington DC on January 21st. She will attend as a journalist. I will attend as an activist.

Time is of essence. It is not the time to be recriminating the Trump voter. The time is now to make them allies. Recent interviews many of them have given on cable and national TV makes it clear that there are common interests some of them are ready to fight for. We should do it and do it now.

We are currently in a state of flux in America. We will be governed shortly by an undemocratically illegitimate president who is intent on effect massive changes. He has no mandate for those changes. In fact, most Americans voted for policies diametrically opposed to what he, through Paul Ryan is proposing.
It is imperative that all Americans understand he does not have the will of the people. We must keep that narrative because the media in normalizing Donald Trump will give the impression that he is effecting what he was elected for. Allowing him carte blanche is effectively acquiescing to fascism based on Trump's modus operandi.

"We all learned in grade school that Abraham Lincoln “saved the Union.” But, in saving our nation, did he destroy our Constitution? He did some pretty extreme things, after all, from suspending habeas corpus to signing the Emancipation Proclamation. Were his actions constitutionally justified, or not? We’ll talk to Daniel Farber, who teaches at the University of California, Berkeley, and who presented this year’s R. Gerald McMurtry Lecture at Lincoln Memorial University’s Duncan School of Law."

On this episode of Conscious Bridge Radio, Mark Gilbert presents some of the best moments from the show from the year 2016. The retrospective begins and ends with discussions of Donald Trump.
From the January program, Spiral Dynamics co-author Don Beck surprises us by describing how Trump might be the "transitional" leader that we may be looking for at this point in our evolution. In a discussion that foretells the election, Beck explains why he was impressed with Trump. The program ends with excerpts from our last regular program of the year featuring spiritual teachers Gregory Toole and Barbara Bue discussing what Trump, along with each of us, can do to heal the divisiveness in our country.
Other excerpts include Arun Gandhi discussing what his grandfather meant by the phrase "be the change", evolutionary teacher Michael Dowd describing why we are facing potential extinction and what we can do about it and Lee Eric Smith of the website "A Message From God" offers what exactly he means by "talking to God" and how such messages are available to all of us. All in all, it's a great opportunity to listen some of the best moments from the past year.

While America hyperventilated about Hillary Clinton's email server and potential breach of security, it turns out that most of these attacks could be encapsulated into one word, PROJECTION. It seems the CIA and the FBI knew all along that the entire election was compromised and our political leaders played partisan politics with it. Shame on them. Worse is that our President-Elect knew about it and welcomed his title of either as a Russian Puppet, a Russian agent/sympathizer, or a useful idiot.

Disagreeing about what is right and good (or wrong and bad) can be challenging. Our culture has evolved to reward winners and dismiss losers. Our biology rewards us with dopamine when we are right - and then we want more. Is it any wonder that we all want to be “right” and on the winning team? But relationships are not a game to count the number of times we are right and declare a winner. What is the actual cost to our relationships when we fall into the right/wrong game? And how can we step out of the right/wrong paradigm to explore what’s really important to - and enlivens - us all? Join us as we discuss these questions more. www.livingroomconversations.og

While most of the media are taking their eyes off of the ball, a few journalists here and there are spending the necessary time on the Medicare privatization attack. Paul Ryan is quietly working behind the scenes to decimate the social safety net. Donald Trump is filling his administration with privateers and vicious attacker of the poor and the middle-class.

The National Clean Water Collective arrived in Flint, Michigan Thursday evening, joining the residents of River Park apartments for Thanksgiving Dinner, followed by arts and crafts for the kids that the Collective provided. The following day, November 25th, the Collective hosted a community feast and panel discussion at Canaan Baptist Church. Over fifty residents attended the panel discussion moderated by Director of Activist with the Solutions Institute, Anita MonCrief. Topics discussed by the panel ranged from infrastructure and water content to personal stories and community organizing. Panelists included local grassroots activists and organizers like Melissa Mays and Gina Luster, Business Manager of the Plumbers Union, Harold Harrington, and University of Michigan professor Dr. Suzanne Selig. Representatives of the National Clean Water Collective, MissionFlint and SI, joined one another at the Non-Profit Community Center Piece of the Rock Foundation and participated in an activist training workshop also taught by Anita Moncrief. Earlier this week I was concerned that Progressives, mostly concentrating on Steve Bannon's racism, sexism, misogyny, xenophobia, and white supremacy proclivity, were missing the most important point. After reading his intervi..ew with The Hollywood Reporter, I continue to believe that.
Going forward Progressives must build up their own independent infrastructure capable of reaching and mobilizing millions. It is unlikely that the mainstream media, sans some respectable investigative reporters that were exceptional during the elections, will do their jobs.

On this episode of Conscious Bridge Radio, host Mark Gilbert offers a post election 2016 edition asking the question "what can Trump or any of us do to heal our divisiveness?"
The United States is experiencing tremendous political polarization and divisiveness on major issues facing the country. Most of us agree something must be done....but what?
To assist each of us in considering that question, Gilbert offers two discussions....one with a couple of his "mastermind" group friends and another one with spiritual teachers Barbara Bue and Gregory Toole. They are interesting takes on the question and are sure to give you some thoughts on what not only President-elect Trump can do but what each of us can do to address the issue.
Barbara Bue is one of the spiritual directors of New Thought NoCo Center for Spiritual Living, the largest new thought group in northern Colorado. https://www.facebook.com/NTNCCSL/
Gregory Toole is the spiritual director of Somseva which offers spiritual classes in person and online. He is also the author of A Simple Guide to Planetary Transformation. https://somseva.org/
Gilbert is the author of four books including Be Yourself Evolving the World Through Personal Empowerment and Our Spiritual Evolution.

It is important that we understand Donald Trump's electoral college victory. To be clear, most voting Americans wanted Hillary Clinton, not Donald Trump. She won the popular vote.
But in the Blue States she lost, there is an important factor. Many are trying to deny it and we must not let them lest we repeat the same mistake.

Many know that many of today’s evangelicals are likely worse than the Pharisees of the biblical days. While I pointed out this verifiable truth for decades as I watched evangelical leaders pilfer their gullible followers, they displayed their evilness overtly with their support of Donald Trump.
It is not about the Supreme Court. It is not about moral values. It is not about any positive values at all. There is no doubt that they made a financial calculation. Win or lose, they have a new resource, the Donald Trump supporters. And you know what, they know they have the ability to control puppets, the gullible, the willfully ignorant, the low information voter.

The panic is on in the Democratic circles. Did the FBI Director's October surprise change the election? Is it a net positive or a net negative for Hillary Clinton? I do not think it is all bad at all. In fact, I believe it could be a net positive. I will explain why starting with the blog of the week.

In this conversation, we explore our own experience about how we learned to talk about politics . . . or to avoid it. We are sharing stories about what has happened around our political conversations and consider the impact this has on our relationships with friends and family. Each of us has a different story about how we have learned to navigate these possibly hostile conversations. This isn't a conversation focused on issues, but rather a discovery of how we decide who to relate to and at what depth based on our knowledge of political views. This past weekend, Project Censored hosted a National Media Freedom Summit. The Summit brought together independent journalists, media activists, professors, students, and members of the public, to discuss the links between media power and political power, and to share effective strategies for advancing social justice by promoting media freedom and critical media literacy. On this episode of Conscious Bridge Radio, host Mark Gilbert offers a special election 2016 edition themed on the issue of it being "a time to vote and a time to heal?"
There are three major points discussed on this program. First is the important need to vote in this election. This includes the talk of many about not voting, the sense of some that there is no real difference in the major candidates, and throwing votes towards the third party candidates. Secondly is a look at how this election is evolving and changing our country....which leads to the final point -- how are we going to come together as a people after the election? Gilbert highlights the Coffee Party USA's current #voteanyway campaign, their upcoming #stayinvolved campaign....and much much more!
Gilbert is the author of four books including Be Yourself Evolving the World Through Personal Empowerment and Our Spiritual Evolution.

It’s been over six months since Associate Justice Antonin Scalia passed away, yet still his chair on the Supreme Court bench is empty. Is the Senate’s refusal to consider a successor constitutional? What are the implications for the Court? For the Constitution? Stewart speaks with Nan Aron of the Alliance for Justice about this important but oft-overlooked constitutional standoff."
Your Weekly Constitutional is hosted by Constitutional Law Professor Stewart Harris.

The topic of muslim refugees and national security has been a point of controversy and discussion during this election. This conversation touches on some of our core values as individuals and as a nation. Our need to balance constitutional rights and generosity with prudence. Balancing freedom and security- safety and care for other people whose lives are at risk due to political, ethnic and religious conflict. How can we offer assistance? How can we protect ourselves?
Our group of six participants address these questions and learn from one another. New ideas and possible solutions get brought to light while discovering they have more common ground than initially thought.
Living Room Conversations is an open-source project exploring the power of revitalized discourse in America. It provides a platform for people to come together through social networks and engage in self-guided conversations about specific topics. These conversations foster new relationships and often reveal common ground. Click here(http://www.livingroomconversations.org) to learn more and find over 40 pre-prepared conversation materials.
