Yes, your testosterone levels will be affected by stress.

If you wonder why… I will show you how.

Stress is a feeling of physical or mental tension. You get stressed due to the workload in the office or get stressed as you approach the deadline. These are often good as it helps you to finish the job in time.

But long-term can be dangerous to your health as well as testosterone levels.

In the modern era due to the workload in office, the stress levels are getting higher during the workday.

Journal of psychosomatic research shows that the workers who had higher tension at work had higher levels of cortisol during the workday.

Another study led by the European journal of applied physiology shows that the endurance-trained athletes had higher cortisol levels and lower testosterone levels.

A study conducted by Society for Behavioral Neuroendocrinology shows that higher cortisol levels can cause impotency and loss of libido.

Journal of clinical endocrinology and metabolism shows that high cortisol levels will suppress your testosterone production by a direct action on your testis.

You can reduce your stress levels by doing exercise, changing your diet habits, and have more laugh and smile.

Exercise

Exercise helps to shift your focus from physical or mental tension. Exercise helps to release endorphins that help to keep you feel good.

So join swimming, yoga, or join team events like volleyball or badminton. It helps you to socialize.

Laugh and smile.

Androgen receptors determine the body's sensitivity to testosterone.

With few changes in diet and routines, you can enhance androgen receptors sensitivity

  • What is Androgen receptors?

Androgen receptors are a type of nuclear receptor that is activated by binding any of the androgenic hormones such as testosterone and dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in living cells of your body.

The key function of an androgen receptor is as a DNA-binding feature that regulates gene expression.

In short, all those testosterone of a male body is useless unless it is able to carry out its functions with the help of androgen receptors.

They bound androgens to blood and help them transport it to enter DNA. This is a natural process of your body.

However, one can increase androgen receptor density enabling them to augment their activity in exploiting male hormones.

If you are convinced you to have decent testosterone levels but still suffers fatigue, low mood, apathy and loss of strength, then you probably lack essential androgen receptors to activate the testosterone you possess.
