The B-Movie Cast is back and this time Nic and Mary are joined by special guest Eric Brooks. The gang check out one of the 1981 cinematic Werewolf movie trinity: “Wolfen”. We’ve got an apocalyptic looking New York neighborhood mixed with a liberal dose of Native American folklore and some sinister urban wolves all stirred up into the most underrated of 1981’s three entries in the Werewolf genre!

The B-Movie Cast is back and this time we’re searching for the Abominable Snow man of the Himalayas. Only we couldn’t afford a trip to Napal, so we had to settle for John Caradine telling us all about how they found one in Nagano Japan! Join Mary, Nic, and Juan as we check out “Half Human” (original Japanese title: “Jūjin Yuki Otoko” meaning ‘Beast/Forest Man, Snow Man”. In typical 1950s fashion, when it was released in the US, they stuck some American actors into cut scenes and built the story around them. In this case John Caradine narrates the whole film as a flashback as told to him by a Japanese colleague. Get ready for a whole lot of walking around in the woods and a monster covered all over with fur, but still somehow suffering from male pattern baldness! The B-Movie cast crew did a double header on this one, checking out the original Japanese version from 1955 and the American release from 1957. So, grab your skis and get ready for some fun with “Half Human” on the B-Movie Cast!
The B-Movie Cast is in the holiday spirit this year with a tale of death by plane crash, jealous murder, and holiday cheer! That’s right Mary, Nic and Juan are checking out “Beyond Christmas” AKA “Beyond Tomorrow”, a 1940 holiday tale of three rich old men living together in New York who decide to invite strangers into their home for Christmas and then come back to haunt them when the three dudes meet an untimely end in a plane crash! Beyond Christmas is no “Beyond Thunderdome”, but it’s definitely worth a little yule-tide love this season. So, toss your wallet out the window and see who your having Christmas dinner with on this episode of The B-Movie Cast!
The B-Movie cast makes it big, really BIG when Mary, Nic and returning guest Bill Mize, check out the 1957, Bert I. Gordon classic “Beginning of the End”. Thrill to giant grasshoppers battling stock footage of the US military while trying not to fall off pictures of famous buildings! Yes, it’s some old school B-movie fun that features Peter Graves and a bevy of actors you’ve seen before, even if you don’t remember their names… don’t worry though, Mary wants to talk about each and every one of them! The B-Movie Cast didn’t ask ChatGPT for anything about this one, instead we asked filmmaker Brian Cunningham to join Mary and Nic for the 1981 sci fi thriller “Looker”. This episode of the B-Movie Cast, Mary and Nic are joined by Juan to take a look at a classic of Mexican Cinema, that somewhat defies description: “The Exterminating Angel” (Spanish: El ángel exterminador). It’s a 1962 Mexican surrealist film written and directed by Luis Buñuel. It tells a story we can all identify with, what do you do when your party guests won’t leave? Only in this case there is an unknown compulsion preventing these wealthy aristocrats from vacating the scene. Not only can these folks not leave, but other people can’t come in either. It’s surrealism at its best with as much backstabbing, in fighting, classism, and scheming as any reality TV show, only this one doesn’t let the players exit… oh and there’s a bear too because… why not?

It’s Halloween and the B-Movie Cast is back with our annual Halloween special featuring photographer Mark Mawston! Mark suggested we do the Horror classic from 1978: “Halloween” and that’s when Mary and Nic realized… We’d never done it! When we got over the shock that we hadn’t, it was full scream ahead for one of Nic’s favorite films. Featuring Jamie Lee Curtis, Donald Pleasence, PJ Soles one of the most famous film scores ever, and the start of a whole lot of genre tropes! Get ready for a look at what is possibly John Carpenter’s most iconic work, the original “Halloween”!

The B-Movie Cast is back with a very special episode. In January 2021 actor John Richardson passed from Covid-19. John was a friend of cast favorite, Mark Mawston. Mark asked if we could do a show dedicated to John and look at one of the actor’s favorite films: “Black Sunday” (AKA “The Mask of The Demon”). As a special treat, Mark arranged for John’s former domestic partner (no they were never married) two-time Bond Girl and Hammer Glamour Queen Martine Beswick! Hey B-Movie Cast fans in this episode Mary, Nic and special guest Brian Cunningham take a trip to Perfection, Nevada to see what’s shaking with the 1990 monster flick “Tremors”. It’s a personal favorite of Brian and Nic’s which we discovered Mary hadn’t seen before! “Tremors” is an ode to classic sci-fi/horror movies with just the right blend of humor and horror. The film features snappy dialogue and loveable characters including Val and Earl (Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward). So grab a beer, but watch out for Graboids, as we check out “Tremors”.

Mary had to take some time off to get her new bionic hip installed and now she’s ready to slow-mo run with Steve Austin… or at least finally climb the stairs back up the B-Movie Cast studio! It’s a 1979 action/comedy from filmmaker Greydon Clark. For even more fun, Greydon recorded an interview with Nic talking about “Angels Revenge” and some other stories from his book “On The Cheap: My Life In Low Budget Filmmaking”. The B-Movie Cast is back! We’ve got a special guest this week- Dr. Smith! No, not that one, the British one! Dr. Adrian Smith! Adrian is joining Mary and Nic to check out the gonzo Japanese horror film from 1977: “House” (Nihongo de: Hausu).
This was writer/director Nobuhiko Obayashi’s fever dream ghost story from Toho Studios. Toho saw that “Jaws” was a hit and ask Obayashi to make something like “Jaws” for them. Well… he definitely made a movie, but the only things it has in common with Spielberg’s 1975 blockbuster is that they were both filmed on 35mm film stock! “House” is a head trip, but well worth the price of admission!
So grab an Asahi beer, order up some sushi and check out the Japanese horror classic “House”!
The B-Movie Cast is back! This episode Mary and Nic are joined by our resident Egyptologist, Eric Brooks, to look at a film about another Egyptologist: “The Ghoul” from 1933. Considered the first true British horror film after the silent film era, “The Ghoul” features Boris Karloff playing Henry Morlant, a dying Egyptologist who is obsessed with the idea that he can enter the Egyptian afterlife if he rises from the dead and gives an ancient jewel to the God Anubis. Unfortunately for Morlant, everyone and their uncle seems to know about the jewel and want it for their own nefarious purposes. So grab yourself a cold one and tune in for episode 454: “The Ghoul”.
B-Movie Cast episode 453 is here! This is a special show paying tribute to the late John Saxon. A ubiquitous figure in film and television, John passed away recently at the age of 83. We wanted to check out one of his most iconic films in his honor: “Enter the Dragon”. Mary and Nic are lucky enough to be joined by actor, filmmaker, and writer Michael Worth. Michael worked with John on many projects and was his friend. He also took the time to sit down with John and record him as he recounted some of his memories of his long career. Michael is sharing a small segment of those recordings with us in this episode as John talks about going to Hong Kong to film our movie this episode “Enter the Dragon”.
“Enter the Dragon” wasn’t just any old martial arts film. It was the first real collaboration between the film industries of Hollywood and Hong Kong on a martial arts film. A joint production staring martial arts master Bruce Lee, middleweight Karate champion Jim Kelly and of course John Saxon who also had a black belt in Karate and was also accomplished at Judo.
“Enter the Dragon” would open the door for a new generation of martial arts films, showing the genre to be commercially viable in the American and European markets and setting the bar by which all future martial arts films would be judged.

Scott passed away just before we recorded this cast, so we wanted to dedicate it to his memory. Scott was a true Monster Kid and a friend to us all and he will be missed.

Mary, who’s lived in the south for over 20 years, can’t quite see the forest for the trees when it comes to southern gothic, but she has figured out what really gets to her when it comes to horror films, and it’s not the gore. It’s a rare treat that mixes a bit of sci-fi, a bit of cold war nihilism, and a dash of horror to create an unforgettable film that feels oddly appropriate do cover during the spring of 2020. Oh, and let’s not forget, it has Oliver Reed at his most sinister, and even more diabolically it has a catchy tune the goes with it. Once you hear it, you can’t get it out of your head! Fair warning though, you may want to try and watch this one before the episode because we spoil this one worse than cottage cheese on a car dashboard in July!

The B-Movie Cast is back and this episode Mary and Nic are joined by filmmaker Brian Cunningham. We’re excited to say to the listeners “Hey Beastmaster is on!” That’s right, Mary hasn’t had enough guys in loin clothes yet! First, it was “Ator: The Fighting Eagle” then it was “Yor: Hunter from the Future” now it’s time for “The Beastmaster”! This is probably Mary’s favorite of the ‘barbarian’ 80s flicks and it’s definitely one that Nic saw on HBO at least a hundred times in the 80s.
“The Beastmaster” is from writer/director Don Coscarelli. Coscarelli is best known for the “Phantasm” film series and he brings his love of horror and the macabre to this sword and sorcery tale with some weird magic, crazy creatures, and the evilest Rip Torn the screen has ever seen!
So grab a beer and heat up your TV dinner because it’s time to follow the adventures of Dar, the Beastmaster, as he tries to save the day while not getting mauled by a tiger that’s annoyed at being painted black!

In this episode of the B-Movie Cast Mary and Nic are joined by Juan. The 70s and 80s are great and all, but it was time to head back to our B-Movie roots. We looked at the films we’d covered and realized that there were a couple of startling holes in our 50s’ movie coverage. One of them was the classic film “This Island Earth”!

The B-Movie Cast is back… sort of. We recorded a few episodes in preparation for Mary going off the air for 6-8 weeks during the nuclear plant shutdown she works at called ‘the outage’. What we didn’t know when we put these episodes ‘in the can’ was that Mary would be opting out of doing the outage this year due to health concerns. Don’t worry, she’s fine, she wanted to stay fine so she’s staying home with Kitty her cat. That said, we still have a few pre-recorded episodes and this is one of them!
The last pre-recorded episode was Nik Havert’s “Monster Music Cast” and now Mary and Nic back and we’re joined once again by Brian Cunningham, filmmaker, and co-owner of Thoughtfly Studios in Louisville Kentucky. The gang is checking out another 80s flick. This time it’s “Trancers” from 1985! This is a definite ‘Nic-pick’ film but that’s OK because everyone enjoyed it… even if Nic does end up spending half the cast defending the merits of this 80s ‘mockbuster’ of “The Terminator”.
By the way, what’s even better than doing a podcast on a time travel movie? Time-traveling during the time travel cast! Well, we did it! Mary, Nic, and Brian got together again to record the feedback and the contest sections of the cast. That’s right we visit the past during this episode! I don’t think we changed the future… we’ll see.

This episode of the B-Movie cast is a bit different. Mary was going to be out of touch for 8-12 weeks with the nuclear plant shutdown she normally works. That didn’t happen because she retired from that gig due to concerns about working with a lot of people, in confined spaces for 12 hours a day, 6 days a week (and we’re glad she decided to quit that gig). However, in preparation for her outage we recorded a few episodes to have ‘in the can’. This is one of those episodes!

The B-Movie Cast is back and this time we’ve got two special guests. Mary and Nic are joined by fan favorite, British photographer Mark Mawston, and filmmaker John Stevenson. The gang has decided to take on a cult favorite from the 80s- “The Keep”. It has got monsters, Nazis and all the synthesizer music they could cram into it. Some call it a horror film, some call it a fantasy, the director says it’s an adult fairytale and the box office in 1983 said it was a dud. This film suffered from the common problem of the studio (Paramount) taking the artistic vision of the director (Michael Mann) and tossing it into the trash as they cut the film from 3.5hrs to 2hrs and then finally to a nearly incomprehensible 96 minutes! But don’t worry, the B-Movie Cast is ready to make it all right! So get ready for some fun as we break down the movie and live our best life checking out what is really a 96 minute Tangerine Dream music video!
It’s a new episode of The B-Movie Cast and this week Mary and Nic have a special guest: Dr. Smith! No, not the creepy one from “Lost in Space”. This is Dr. Adrian Smith, film historian and lecturer at The University of Sussex in the U.K.
Adrian has come down from his castle in Sussex to talk about the sword and sorcery ‘mock-buster’ that is “Ator: The Fighting Eagle” from 1982. This film has everything: magical swords (that aren’t that magical), evil wizards, monsters, Amazon women, a cute little bear cub and don’t forget miles and miles of Miles O’Keefe!
So sit back and get ready for some Italian knock-off fantasy film fun with “Ator: The Fighting Eagle”… oh and try not to worry about him not really being an eagle… that’s one of those things it’s best not to dwell on.
This time on The B-Movie Cast, Mary, Nic and Juan are checking out the second lost continent of Caprona film with the AIP 1977 film “The People That Time Forgot”. It’s the sequel to the film from our last podcast on “The Land That Time Forgot” and begs the question, what’s wrong with time that it keeps forgetting stuff?
This time we have Patrick Wayne leading an expedition to find Doug McClure’s character Tyler from the first film. Times have been rough in Caprona though because there just aren’t that many dinosaurs to be found this time around. That’s OK though, the film makes up for it with the Naga, weird woman sacrificing, Japanese armor-wearing, samurai sword-wielding bad guys that live in the prototype for Castle Greyskull from “He-Man”.

It asks the question “what if the monsters were the heroes?”. While Barker’s original film clocked in at over 2.5 hours, the studio released a heavily edited cut that just ran 1 hour & 42 minutes. However, we’re checking out one of the ‘director’s cut versions which has more than 20 minutes of additional footage.

Made in 1967 It’s the first real horror film to come out of the Soviet Union.
Based on a story by Nikolai Gogol, “Viy” tells the tale of a priest who must spend 3 nights in a tomb with a dead body. The problem is, that the dead body has a bit of a demon problem. Oh and the priest is really a seminary student who isn’t exactly the holiest of men.

The gang is checking out another flick from 1979, this time it’s a mutant bear stalking the New England woods in Prophecy. This is a favorite go-to monster flick for Nic and even more surprising, of Fiona’s too! So get ready to be lectured on the effects of mercury poisoning right before a bear that looks like a giant killer sausage shows up to rip your face off! But don’t worry, this is the B-Movie cast so no mutant bears were harmed in the making of this episode!
The B-Movie Cast knows you didn’t see this one coming… because it’s invisible! Last episode we looked at the Universal Horror classic “The Invisible Man”. This episode Mary, Nic and Juan tack the Japanese “Invisible Man” (A.K.A. – The Invisible Avenger). This 1954 flick is from TOHO Studios and if you haven’t heard of the film before it may be because another TOHO flick came out that year that sort of stomped on all the competition- that film was “Gojira” (Godzilla- King of the Monsters).
This telling of the story of an invisible man doesn’t much resemble the H.G. Wells story or its Universal Studios predecessor. However, it has its high points and the story has a lot more emotional punch to it. Word of warning though…. Don’t get Nic started on the one thing he really didn’t like in the film… you won’t hear the end of it!

Someone forgot to tell Turkey that most of the world recognizes copyright law. So Turkey’s film industry has a bit of a reputation for ripping off western hit films… think “Turkish Star Wars”, “Turkish Rambo”, etc.…
In this cinematic spectacle, Spiderman isn’t your friendly neighborhood teen hero. He’s a sadistic arch-criminal who, along with his sadistic girlfriend Nadja, is murdering everyone he can while running an extremely overly complicated criminal smuggling/counterfeiting ring. Only the combined forces of Mexico’s greatest hero: Santo, America’s greatest hero: Captain America, and, because they needed a third person… Captain America’s girlfriend Julia, can stop Spiderman before he kills even more innocent people.

That’s right this episode is about the time traveling western motorcycle film- “Time Rider: The Adventure of Lyle Swann”.
“Time Rider” stars Fred Ward (“Tremors”, “Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins”) and features all those actors you recognize but just can’t quite name… like that guy from that movie that was out that one year… Oh and Peter Coyote!

On this episode of the B- Movie Cast, Mary, Nic and Juan take a look at a Spanish classic called The Tower of the Seven Hunchbacks (La Torre de los Siete Jorobados). Shot in 1944, this film is the first Spanish feature we’ve covered.
The film features ghosts, including Napoleon of all people…, romance, a murder, a mystery, a musical number, a nutty professor, and a lost city! What more could you ask for? How about seven hunchbacks? Nic counted them, and they are all there… we’re still not sure why though!

Holy 80th anniversaries! Hey B-Movie Cast fans, Mary and Nic are joined by the Amazing Fiona Young-Brown (AKA- Nic's wife) on this show as we take a look at a masterpiece of 1960's camp cinema- "Batman" (the Movie). Between seasons 1 and 2 of the TV show they produced a feature film that has the caped crusader and his youthful ward Dick taking on the ultimate collection of villains- The Joker, The Riddler, The Penguin and Cat Woman!
Will the dynamic duo be able to thwart these dastardly doers of dirty deeds? Probably. The real question is has Nic figured out the link between this film and Marvel's "Avengers Infinity War" - Nic thinks he has - and if he's right "Avengers End Game" will have a surprising cameo by a couple of Gotham's finest... if they can get the Bat-Dust-Separator out of storage and back in working order!

The B-Movie Cast is back! This time Mary, Nic and Juan take on the 1964 film “The Ghost of Sierra De Cobre”. This was originally shot to be the pilot for a TV show called “The Haunted” but when that didn’t work out the producers decided to make it a feature film. Though rarely seen in the US, the film was a hit overseas. It stars Martin Landau (“Space 1999”, “Mission Impossible”, “Ed Wood”).
Also this week Mary launches a special double contest for the show’s listeners with a collector’s edition set of trading cards as the prize! So grab your TV dinner, open a cold beer and get ready to check out “The Ghost of Sierra De Cobre”… or as Nic thinks of it- The X-Files from the 60s.
Mary, Nic and Juan are back! This time the gang is checking out something new... a Danish Kaiju flick: "Reptilicus"! The film was produced by the company behind many of our favorite B-Movies: American International Pictures. They partnered with Danish production company Saga Studios and filmed and released two separate versions: one in Denmark and one in the United States.
Since none of us speak Danish, we're checking out the English language version. So grab some snacks, a cold drink and get ready for some green slime spitting, giant reptile, crazy dialogue. sometimes slightly out of focus fun with "Reptilicus"!

When Santa’s psycho son takes over Christmas his first goal is to wipe out Hanukah! Fortunately The Hebrew Hammer is on the case! This is a 2003 comedy that may not be for everyone, but it is a lot of fun!

This is a special posting of a special B-Movie Cast. This episode was one that Vince, Michael Worth and co-host Nic Brown recorded earlier this year. The episode was going to be released during some down time for the show. However, as many of you know that didn't happen because our friend and B-Movie mentor: Vince Rotolo, passed away suddenly in April of this year.
Mary, Juan and I have been working together to see what we can do to bring the show back in Vince's honor. While going through the files on one of the many computers he used for the cast we discovered this file.
Nic has managed to edit in the standard intro and closing for the cast, along with a 'blooper real' bumper that guest host Michael Worth sent in from Lance Henriksen.
We hope you enjoy this special show. There is no feed back in it, we're still working on that.

This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse I thought it was time to do a silent film so I picked one of my favorites. It’s He Who Gets Slapped from 1924. The film was directed by Victor Sjöström and stars Lon Chaney,Norma Shearer and John Gilbert.
Story of an inventor who, suffering betrayal in life, makes a career of it by becoming a clown whose act consists of getting slapped by all the other clowns. He falls in love with another circus performer, and those who betrayed him enter his life yet again.

This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse with the recent passing of David Bowie we thought we would cover one of his films. So I picked The Hunger from 1983. The film was directed by Tony Scott and stars Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie and Susan Sarandon.
Also Nic is out this week so we will have the Nic-Bot and our friend from the U.K. Mark Mawston will be joining us.
The Egyptian vampire lady Miriam subsists upon the blood of her lovers. In return the guys or girls don't age... until Miriam has enough of them. Unfortunately that's currently the case with John, so his life expectancy is below 24 hours. Desperately he seeks help from the famous Dr. Sarah Roberts. She doesn't really believe his story, but becomes curious and contacts Miriam ... and gets caught in her ban, too.

This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse we kick off the New Year with a Horror, Thriller, Mystery film from 1959 called The Bat. The film was directed by Crane Wilbur and stars Vincent Price, Avery Hopwood and Agnes Moorehead.
Mystery writer Cornelia Van Gorder has rented a country house called "The Oaks", which not long ago had been the scene of some murders committed by a strange and violent criminal known as "The Bat". Meanwhile, the house's owner, bank president John Fleming, has recently embezzled one million dollars in securities, and has hidden the proceeds in the house, but he is killed before he can retrieve the money. Thus the lonely country house soon becomes the site of many mysterious and dangerous activities.

We are back! This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse I thought we would go back to our B-Move roots and look at another one of my favorite B-Movie directors Larry Buchanan. This time I picked Mars Needs Women from 1967. The film stars Tommy Kirk and Yvonne Craig who recently passed away.
Dop leads his fellow Martians to Earth on an interplanetary quest for females. Dop proves that Martians have impeccable taste when one of his first conquests turns out to be sexy scientist Dr. Marjorie Bolen.

This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse I’m on a Sci-FI kick again. So I picked a kind of overlooked film from 2009 called Moon. The film was directed by Duncan Jones and stars Sam Rockwell.
Astronaut Sam Bell has a quintessentially personal encounter toward the end of his three-year stint on the Moon, where he, working alongside his computer, GERTY, sends back to Earth parcels of a resource that has helped diminish our planet's power problems.
IT’s Mexican Madness Week!
This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse Juan suggested a Mexican film from 1954 called The Witch "La bruja". The film was directed by Chano Urueta and stars Ramón Gay.
Thieves break into a scientist's laboratory to steal a secret formula, and in the process they kill his daughter. Enraged, he develops a formula that will turn an extremely ugly woman into a spectacular beauty, and then uses the woman to take his revenge on those responsible for his daughter's murder.
East Germans in space!
This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse I wanted to do a Sci-Fi film so I picked an East German film In the Dust of the Stars (Im Staub der Sterne) from 1976.
After a six year journey, the Spaceship Cyrno lands on the planet TEM 4 from where they had received a call for help. Strangely enough, the Temers deny having sent this message. As commander Akala prepares the spaceship to leave they get an invitation from the rich ruler of TEM 4 to be a part of a lush party. Not only do the opulent food and the seductive dancers cloud their minds, but also the drugs mixed into their food manipulate their consciousness. Only navigator Suko was left behind on the spaceship for security reasons and makes an unexpected, terrible discovery.
We built a super computer with a mind of its own and now we must fight it for the world!
This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse I thought we would go with a supercomputer goes crazy film so I picked Colossus: The Forbin Project from 1970. The film was directed by Joseph Sargent and stars Eric Braeden, Susan Clark and William Schallert.
Thinking this will prevent war; the US government gives an impenetrable supercomputer total control over launching nuclear missiles. But what the computer does with the power is unimaginable to its creators.

This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse the gang will talk about a film one our facebook fans John Detrich posted the trailer for. The film is Golden Bat from 1966. It’s Japanese craziness with Sonny Chiba.

This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse I’m still in a psychedelic swinging 60’s mood after Danger: Diabolik and I needed a late-‘60s cultural fix. So I thought we would cover 1968s Wonderwall. The film was directed by Joe Massot and stars Jack MacGowran and Jane Birkin and music by George Harrison.
The eccentric professor Collins lives completely secluded in his chaotic apartment. When the model Penny moves in next to him, he becomes fascinated of her.

That film is Danger Diabolik from 1968. The film was directed by Mario Bava and stars John Phillip Law and Marisa Mell.
Fey super-thief Diabolik runs around stealing jewels, gold, murdering innocent people, and being a nuisance to the government of a generic European country.

This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse we have a special guest. It’s Rod Barnett from The Bloody Pit and Naschy Cast podcasts! Rod’s pick this week is a Spanish horror film Tombs of the Blind Dead from 1972. The film was directed by Amando de Ossorio.
In the 13th century there existed a legion of evil knights known as the Templars, who quested for eternal life by drinking human blood and committing sacrifices. Executed for their unholy deeds, the Templars bodies were left out for the crows to peck out their eyes.

This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse Nic thought it would be a good idea if we talk about Mad Max (1979) and Mad Max 2 The Road Warrior (1981) because of the upcoming release of Mad Max: Fury Road on May 15th. Both films where directed by George Miller and star Mel Gibson.

This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse our friend from the U.K. photographer Mark Mawston works with Arrow Films and he was nice enough to send us some new Arrow U.S.A. Releases. So this week we are talking about a Spaghetti Western called Day of Anger from 1967. The film stars Lee Van Cleff and Giuliano Gemma.

This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse Juan is back as we talk about one of my recent finds. It’s a Russian Sci-Fi film from 1984 called (Zaveshchaniye professora Douelya) Professor Dowell's Testament. Yes it’s another living Head Movie, Yes I know I have a problem. Should be fun!
Professor Dowell and his assistant surgeon Dr. Kern are working on the resurrection of the dead. Dr. Kern kills Dowell in a set up car accident. Professor Dowell's head is now kept alive and used by Dr. Kern for extraction of scientific secrets.
Earth's last battle will be fought in space.
Today in the B-Move clubhouse we have Darryl Mayeski the editor and chief of SCREEM magazine and he will join gang as we talk about one of his picks. It’s a Sci-Fi film called Silent Running from 1972. The film was directed by Douglas Trumbull and stars Bruce Dern, Huey Dewey and Louie.

A blade runner must pursue and try to terminate four replicants who stole a ship in space and have returned to Earth to find their creator.

This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse it’s Mexican Madness week again. Juan picked The Living Head (La cabeza viviente) from 1963. The film was directed by Chano Urueta and stars Abel Salazar and Mauricio Garcés.

This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse Juan picked out a comedy for us from 1979 called Scavenger Hunt. This is an underrated classic and is available only on VHS, and even that is hard to find.
Milton Parker has made millions inventing and selling games. Upon his death, his relatives and domestic staff gather for the reading of the will. However, Old Mr. Parker is a game player to the last, and his will stipulates that a Scavenger Hunt will be held to determine the beneficiaries of his sizable estate. The winning team gets all the money, the rest get nothing.
WARNING! 'Strait-Jacket' vividly depicts ax murders!
This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse I have been wanting to see another William Castle flick for a while so I picked Strait-Jacket from 1964. It was written by Robert Bloch and Stars Joan Crawford, Diane Baker, Leif Erickson.
Lucy Harbin has been in an asylum for 20 years after axing her husband and his mistress during a crime of passion, witnessed by her young daughter, Carol. While trying to renew ties with Carol, who is now a young woman about to be married, heads begin to roll again. Is Lucy repeating her past?
t’s Mexican Madness Week!
This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse Juan picked another crazy Mexican Fantasy film called Little Red Riding Hood and the Monsters from 1962.
Follow up to Caperucita y sus tres amigos. Caperucita, the Wolf and the Ogre are captured by the Witch Queen, accused of treason by the Vampire. Caperucita, followed by a host of old and new characters begin the adventure to rescue their friends.
The Body is Gone...But The Head Lives On!
This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse I thought we would go back to our B-Movie roots and talk about a cool German film called The Head from 1959.
A scientist invents a serum that keeps a dog's head alive after its body dies. When the scientist dies of a heart attack, his crazed assistant cuts off his head and, using the serum, keeps the doctor's head alive and forces it to help him on an experiment to give his hunchbacked nurse assistant a new body.

This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse since I’ve been reading Greg Mank’s book “Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff a Haunting Collaboration” it made me want to do one of their films. So I picked “The Invisible Ray” from 1936.

This week is my pick Sint from 2010. Sint is a 2010 Dutch dark comedy horror film about Sinterklaas, a character comparable to Santa Claus in English-speaking countries. The film was directed by Dick Maas and marked his return to the horror genre, in which he gained acclaim with his debut De Lift (1983) and Amsterdamned (1988).

This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse the gang will start our 2 week Christmas Show. First up is Silent Night, Deadly Night from 1984. The film caused an uproar when released in 1984 during the holiday season, and has developed a cult following.
