Hello. This is Byron Katie, and I welcome you to the “At Home with Byron Katie” podcast.
Each week, you’ll find me here with a different guest as we inquire into the cause of all suffering and how to end it. I SO love what each guest brings to the table, and I hope that you will too.
Is there a problem in your world? Is there someone in your life, past or present, who resembles my guest or the person to whom my guest is relating?
Invite your mind to stillness, relax, pay attention moment by moment as you join us from wherever you are, as you relate what you hear to your own life, and experience the internal thrill of enlightenment—not only as some exalted state of mind but as the elementary, doable, down-to-earth experience of understanding the cause of all suffering and how to end it.
We exercise our bodies, but what about our minds? Think of this podcast as mental hygiene. I marvel at the courage, depth and humor that each guest brings to the table and invite you to get quiet, relax, move attention to your breath, open your heart and mind to inquiry. Now meet my next guest and let’s do The Work.
For more information, visit thework.com.
My first guest, Mark, is struggling to decide whether to sign a lease with his partner. He is convinced he must decide if he wants to stay in the relationship with her to sign the lease.
Then, Nilofer is considering taking her ex-husband to court to ask for more child support. She considers him a deadbeat dad and feels that he owes her. As we sit in this ex-partner Work, she reflects on the statement, "I want him not to be a deadbeat dad," and asks, "Is it true?"
Get still, open your mind, and let's do The Work!

My client, Monica, is terrified for her adult daughter, who is taking prescribed meds. Monica and her entire family are all moving through a very difficult situation as a family unit. I have included Monica’s Judge-Your-Neighbor Worksheet below for those of you who want to follow the thoughts above on Monica’s Worksheet that are causing her suffering. Worksheet: 1. My daughter shouldn't take medication. She should handle life without medical help. 2. I want my daughter to go through life without any medications. 3. She should go through life without meds and use a strong inside. 4. I need her to go through life the strong way that I did. 5. She is weak, lost, addicted, lost her mind, and can be even worse than she is now. 6. I don't ever want to see my daughter so depressed and taking medication. You can download your own Judge-Your-Neighbor Worksheet on TheWork.com. And now, with or without your own Worksheet, I invite you to close your eyes, get still, follow along, and notice as you begin to realize your own discoveries as Monica and I question the cause of her suffering and how to end it. Hello, dears. Welcome to inquiry. My guest this week is Stephanie. She experiences her daughter as mean, scary, raging, hateful, aggressive, lost, confused, and filled with hatred for her. It breaks her heart to be treated this way, and she wants her daughter to apologize to her, show remorse, and move forward on a positive note. Have you ever been afraid of your own child’s anger, or of someone else’s anger? Join us as Stephanie discovers her denial, her own hidden truths, and the actual cause of her suffering. Is it really her daughter she fears, or is it simply some plain truths within herself being overridden by her ego? Open your mind, get in touch with the flow of your breath, relax, and let’s do The Work. Please leave your comments below; I’d love to hear your thoughts and experience.

Xavier sees his elderly father standing on a wall, pruning a tree, and terrifies himself by imagining that his father is going to fall. But when he gets still and anchors himself in this situation, he discovers that his father was actually safe all along. He realizes that the only danger in the situation was his own mind, jumping to a conclusion in an imagined future, and that his fear resulted not in greater safety but in suppressing his father's joy and liveliness. He comes to see that his father is not a child who needs correction but is a powerful teacher, who is there to give Xavier more space and change his perceptions about all of life. Join me as this amazing man begins to wake up from the spell of seeing danger where there is none. Welcome to The Work.

My guest this week is Christina. She comes with internal judgments on her father and how he really wastes his life in anger. Christina shows us the power of slowing down and how to get still, sitting in the experience of inquiry. Sit with us as we witness Christina’s father transform from an irresponsible, pathetic, blind, and uncaring dad, as miraculous as it may seem, to a responsible, lovely, understanding, and caring dad. xo bk If you enjoy this podcast, please give us a five-star rating and review on iTunes, subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts, and invite your friends to join us.
