Recently I watched the movie “What is a Woman” with Matt Walsh. I’m not sure why I was surprised, but I was. Then I realized, this has been in front of us since Crocodile Dundee!
Recently, I started watching music videos from the 80’s and 90’s. Guess what I saw? Transgenderism everywhere. Why didn’t I notice that before?! Now, to be sensitive, there are people confused about many things. But did any of us ever think it there would be gender confusion?
Something has happened.

Kevin Wells is a former award-winning sports reporter with the Tampa Tribune, where he covered Major League Baseball and other sports. He is the best-selling author of The Priests We Need to Save the Church, a written plea for holy priests to live like the paragons, martyrs, and great saints before them. His book was quickly disseminated in bulk to seminarians across America. Many hundreds of clergy throughout the world have read Kevin’s book.
Kevin is a writer whose articles have appeared at Crisis Magazine, Catholic Exchange, LifeSiteNews, The National Catholic Register, One Peter Five, and Homiletic and Pastoral Review. He is an active evangelist who has spoken on a national Catholic stage including the Legatus Summit, Napa Institute, That Man is You, on EWTN, the TASTE program, as well as hundreds of other men’s and women’s conferences, retreats and events, radio programs and podcasts.
In 2009, he survived a brush with death after a malformed line of vessels in his brain hemorrhaged. The day after invasive brain surgery failed to control the flow of blood, Kevin was anointed by Fr. James Stack – the longtime best friend of his murdered uncle, Msgr. Thomas Wells. To this day, witnesses in the neuro-ICU room tell of the miracle that unfolded at his bedside. He wrote Burst, A Story of God’s Grace When Life Falls Apart during his recovery.

How many people are intentionally living the gospel? The stats say it’s extremely low. St. Augustine, a 4th century saint said “it is certain that few are saved”. But a modern mystic named Blessed Anna Maria Taigi who died in the 1800’s said:
“The greater number of Christians today are damned. The destiny of those dying on one day is that very few – not as many as ten – went straight to Heaven; many remained in Purgatory; and those cast into Hell were as numerous as snowflakes in mid-winter.”
That is shocking, if true.
Here’s one more, St. Louis De Montford (d. 1716), Patron Saint of Parish Priest’s:
"The number of the elect is so small — so small — that, were we to know how small it is, we would faint away with grief: one here and there, scattered up and down the world!”

Everyone suffers. Not everyone suffers well. In days of old, pre-Christ, suffering was viewed as an evil. In some sense, it is. Never was suffering apart of the original equation. Adam changed all this by his refusal to honour and worship Yahweh properly. It was that moment suffering became apart of the human condition.
What did Jesus do? He embraced suffering. It became the means for salvation; “No one can enter the kingdom of God unless he picks up his cross”. “Pick up your cross and follow me”, he says. Humans, if they choose, can align themselves with Christ and suffer with him. Or not.

From movies like the Shining, The Exorcist, the Texan Chainsaw Massacre, the supernatural has been in the back of the minds of people everywhere. In its wonder and mystery, maybe evil isn’t so bad, after all, right? . Well, that’s probably what Eve ended up thinking.
Lately, Evil has become funny. Even Cool. Look at the character “Dr. Evil” played by Mike Myers, or “The Joker” by the late Heath Ledger. You see, evil….it’s not so bad. Maybe I can ever become friends with it. I mean, what has God done for me anyway.
So the door opens a little more. Intrigue becomes a heavy weight that turns into must. Illusion has a different light to it now, a self interest. It insists on opportunity, a means one once thought provocative moving to the norm. Maybe it is even “right”, and I have been wrong all these years, after all. Who doesn’t want money and fame, with my feet on the ground reaching to become a Hollywood Star!
And now I have made it. That’s right. All the way to the top. Why shouldn’t I remind people and force the question: “Don’t you know who I am”?
