In part 1 of our Force Fetch series we have Josh Flowers join us to discuss what exactly Force Fetch is and why should we even consider going through such a retrieving program. We also discuss the important factors for someone brand new considering starting such as common questions or errors, timing, place, and equipment. This is just the first part of many in a series that we will be putting out over the coming weeks that we hope really breakdowns every aspect of Force Fetch. Its our goal that we provide a much better understanding of Force Fetch rather than just discussing the individual steps. Please keep any questions you may have as the series comes out because there will be a Q & A after all of the episodes! Can you imagine hunting Prairie Chickens in Tennessee? A long time ago you wouldn't have had to imagine as they used to be plentiful on the landscape. Throughout generations, the mismanagement of our lands and habitat have resulted in different regions becoming unrecognizable to what they once were. The Southeastern Grasslands is just one example of these unrecognizable ecosystems that have been replaced with unhealthy and aging forests. Kyle Lybarger of the Native Habitat Project and Jeremy French of QF and SGI join me this week to discuss this historical landscape and the current challenges we see in present day. If we arent careful and proactive, we will eventually lose one of the historical staples of the upland world in TN: The Bobwhite Quail. Take a second and really think what it would be like to not hear that whistle come spring time. This is a great reminder to not become complacent when it comes to protecting wildlife habitat. What's it mean for us as bird hunters or our bird dogs if there arent any birds to chase?

Sometimes when you don't have the right equipment or not happy with the options to buy then you just have to get creative and make your own.  Joe Finney of River Roan Kennels decided to take pointer backing dummies to the next level.  Joe was fedup with typical backing dummies and plywood cutouts so he developed the most realistic looking backing dummy that is made to real breed specific sizes and weighs next to nothing.  I enjoy examples such as this because not everyone has the same equipment.  Maybe you just have to start making your own and then maybe it eventually turns into a little side hustle as well! _____ Link Tree ____ Patreon Learn more about your ad choices.
