In this chaotic moment, it feels so important to bring you episodes of Your Messy Brilliance® Show like our latest one, in which I had the pleasure of speaking with Hema Vyas. Hema is a renowned speaker on the subjects of heart wisdom, human consciousness, spirituality, health, energy medicine, and the science of Ayurveda. For 27 years, Hema has been a practicing psychologist, holistic mentor, and speaker. Her work resonates with me on a deep level because it’s all about connecting ancient wisdom to solve the problems of modern times, especially by understanding the significance of the heart.

Hema’s highly sophisticated intuitive abilities and expertise at guiding a direct experience of heart energy have led people affected by her work to describe her as a modern-day seer. Her approach blends psychological and spiritual insights with kundalini yoga and meditation, as she has seen firsthand how these practices have the power to resolve deeply held challenges with speed and impact.

Hema leads international retreats, workshops, and events that align and restore the heart, mind, and body. She has also offered the Women For One community an exciting opportunity to have your first mentoring session with her for 50% off her regular rate, so I hope you’ll take her up on that!

Hema and I had a heart-centered conversation that ranged from the benefits of meditation, and how it doesn’t have to be just another chore to cross off your to-do list: In fact, the creative force of meditation helps us tap into our desires and activate our gifts. We talked about everything from how connecting to our hearts helps us go beyond linear time and space to clear the unconscious and open up to new possibilities, to what it means to truly be of service from a place of balance and self-acceptance.

I hope you’ll take the wisdom from this conversation and use it to tap into your own beautiful heart and messy brilliance! You can find out more about Hema and her work here.

I’m thrilled to bring you the latest episode of Your Messy Brilliance® Show—an incredible conversation with my friend Mona Patel. Mona is the CEO and Founder of Motivate Design, a user-centric design agency based in New York City. She’s also the creator of Insider Insight, which helps companies get the tough answers they’re after by connecting to customers with real-life conversations. It’s an approach that I love because it’s distinctly feminine—that is, it’s about compiling stories instead of data.

Aside from working with some of the biggest brands in the world, including NASA, BMW, and Microsoft, to optimize their customers’ experiences, Mona is also a mom, author, and innovator extraordinaire. I highly encourage you to check out her bestselling book, Reframe: Shift the Way You Work, Innovate and Think, so you can start finding opportunities to innovate and activate your genius—especially when all everyone else sees is a problem!

This spirited conversation includes a discussion on the power of messing up; what it means to learn, guess, and iterate as you go; the power of belly laughter and not taking yourself too seriously; the importance of asking the right questions; and how, when people can be themselves and open up, this results in a different kind of data from what you’d find in regular survey results.

I especially loved talking to Mona about her approach to success, which she describes as “success with a lower-case s.” As a testament to the power of connecting with intuition, Mona shares her current definition of success: “hearing and following a path I wouldn’t have thought of if I didn’t stop to take a breath.”

You can get connected with Mona and her work by checking out her website or emailing her at mona@motivatedesign.com. I hope you love our conversation as much as I did!

I’m thrilled to bring you the latest episode of theYour Messy Brilliance® Show, with Emily Morse. I saw Emily speak at a Sheila Kelley conference, and I knew I wanted to connect with her for Women For One. As a sex and relationship expert, and creator and host of the iTunes top-rated podcast Sex with Emily, Emily is transforming the way we think about sex and desire. Thanks to her educated and personable approach, Emily has become the go-to expert for all things sex and relationships—and she’s continuing to push the envelope and get real with us about how we can heal and improve our connection to our sexuality and sensuality.

Over the past 13 years, her show has evolved from a home-made experiment to professionally produced show, and has elevated Emily to true celebrity status. To date, the Sex with Emily podcast has been downloaded nearly 40 million times. Esquire magazine recently named Sex with Emily one of the Top 12 Sex Podcasts, and Emily has been voted the #1 dating and sex expert to follow on Twitter.

When it comes to sex, she says, “We’re all in this together and we all have challenges. It takes work.” Emily’s message that we’re not alone in our struggles and our questions about sex is not just a refreshing take—it’s also a vantage point that ensures she helps her audience explore what’s possible for their sex lives in the most nonjudgmental, open, and authentic way.

“You can’t draw generalizations about men and women when it comes to sex,” she says. “But overall, there’s a change coming and we’re not going back to the way things used to be. Women are speaking up for what we want in the bedroom and the boardroom.”

I hope you enjoy this candid conversation about pleasure, orgasms, sex education, and how we can reclaim pleasure on our own terms as women. And if you want to find out more about Emily, check out her offerings at sexwithemily.com.

I’m honored to introduce you to a new friend of mine, author and fellow advocate of women’s stories and truths, Jaime Fleres. This episode of the Your Messy Brilliance® Show is especially close to my heart because we talked about so many of the things that Women For One is based on: the power of considering how the stories of our lives continue to impact us today; how we can explore the mess of our trauma through writing and also heal it; and why, in Jaime’s words, “it takes more energy to suppress our truths than to express them.”

As a champion for women’s embodied, authentic, creative expression, as well as a former professor, an author, and a healer, Jaime helps creative souls use writing as a tool of expression and transformation, either by writing books or through personal therapeutic storytelling. Jaime is the author of the book Birth Your Story: Why Writing about Your Birth Matters, which explores the value and how-to of using writing to remember, process, heal. and honor women’s experiences of giving birth.

In this conversation, Jaime shares about how she discovered writing at the age of 13, and how it saved her life and allowed her to break through years of silence to finally express her truth. She also talks about how writing can give us a supportive witness and safe space that helps us to tell our stories unfiltered—and why it’s so important to write our stories for ourselves rather than an audience.

If you’ve ever wondered whether your voice matters or if you really have a story to share, you’ll want to listen to this episode. (BTW, the answer is a resounding yes!) And be sure to check out Jaime’s work at jaimefleres.com.

Shannon is a mountain lover and climber, wellness advocate, and soul-driven health coach. She specializes in working with professional women to help them reclaim their power by ditching sugar for good so they can feel great in their bodies again. She has been in the wellness industry for over 17 years and helps her clients learn how to identify the foods that work for their unique bodies so it’s easier to make healthy choices for the long haul without feeling deprived.
