A new king is in town. Belshazzar has a feast. In the midst of this unrestrained party, handwriting appears on the wall. Daniel is called in to interpret what is written. His life of influence is clearly seen.
CONCLUSION
Belshazzar’s feast was dominated by blindness, booze, blasphemy, and blatant idolatry. Yet the handwriting was on the wall. One day the world’s party will be over. Are we living a life of influence?

In Daniel 4 King Nebuchadnezzar has a dream. The powerful king will be cut down until he realizes who is the Sovereign Lord of all. Living for God in Babylon will require us to live a life of humility.

Pride like a giant tree often takes root and grows in our heart. God is able to cut us down as He did to Nebuchadnezzar. May we freely humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God.
