Hebrews is one of the most eloquently written letters in the New Testament, produced by the pen of an unknown but incredibly gifted communicator. Written to ancient Jews who had become Christians but were now feeling the effects of persecution because of this new faith, it reminds them how the person and accomplishments of Jesus are far greater than anything they had previously known from their experience of the Old Testament. In fact, they are being reminded that the writings they were familiar with actually pointed to Jesus and the work he would do!
