As far back as we can remember the concept of life and death, or more commonly known as the "circle of life", has been an innate characteristic of homo sapiens. For the most part we understand the permanency of death and the often gut wrenching emotions we go through when our loved ones pass. But was this always the case? At what point did we evolve consciously to understand what it meant when you saw your mother, father, sibling, or friend, lying, immobile, drawing no breath.
