The NOYC God-cast is a production of the Northern Ohio Youth Camp. Through various means including a week of summer camp, youth conferences, sporting events, Christian content, and now even Podcasts, The NOYC strives to give Christians a reason to continue on for Christ. At the NOYC youth and adults alike set their differences aside and come together in child like faith in pursuit of a more genuine and authentic relationship with Jesus Christ. The NOYC is far more than a youth camp, it is a joining together of like minds in unity of the desire and belief of God’s Word and His plan for each of our lives. Today, we kick off a brand-new November series as we take a look at having an attitude of gratitude, and what it really means to be thankful in all things.
Considerable quote:
“When we aren’t intentional about pausing in gratitude, negative thinking and burnout often creep into our mind and heart. Gratitude, or a lack of it, colors our whole perspective. It impacts our time with God, the way we approach the tasks of the day, and our relationships with family, friends, students, the body of Christ and the unbelieving world. We are surrounded by a culture that breeds entitlement instead of gratitude. Some have never even been around people who exude joy and thankfulness. When they are around someone who genuinely exudes gratitude in their speech and demeanor, it is a testimony to the presence and personal work of God. Gratitude is refreshing, life-giving and contagious!”

“You were forgiven from sin when you were saved. But you were save to turn from sin. Part of the Christian life is a continual fight against sin, even sin that other Christians may normalize. If we find ourselves walking along the wrong road, may we remember to turn back onto the right one. How easy it can be to forget out calling not to conform to the world, but to stand apart from it.”

Too many times we want to “clean up” our life before we invite the Holy Spirit in so we, in our “infinite” wisdom try to clean things up as best we can. Unfortunately, we cannot clean up our lives without the very thing that we are not letting in because we want to clean first.

We like to say we have flaws and faults, while we do, those are still sins. They are who we are. We can never be anything more than that. I know I'm a bit of a Debby Downer, but I think sometimes we make light of what sin is and who we truly are. I, Rachel Hines, even today after being saved for 24 years of my life, am a sinner. I am daily being saved from those sins by the blood of Jesus.

What are you walking by? The temptation for a believer is…to not believe. Yet the Bible tells us that we are a people who walk by faith and not by sight. In other words- trust in faith, ignore the funk. Not rely upon the stench of the situation- but believe the Savior in every circumstance.
Considerable Quote:
“God never wants us to look at our feelings. Self may want us to; Satan may want us to. But God wants us to face facts, not feelings. God never gives feelings to enable us to trust Him; God never gives feelings to encourage us to trust Him; God never gives feelings to show that we have already and utterly trusted Him. God gives feelings only when He sees that we trust Him apart from all feelings, resting on His own Word, and on His own faithfulness to His promise. Never until then can the feeling (which is from God) possibly come; and God will give the feeling in such a measure and at such a time as His love sees best for the individual case.”

Sometimes we are just party poopers, and aren't thankful. Is that wrong? Is it a big deal?
Today's quote is from Henry Ward Beecher “The unthankful heart... discovers no mercies; but let the thankful heart sweep through the day and, as the magnet finds the iron, so it will find, in every hour, some heavenly blessings!

There are five little words that can strike fear into the heart of nearly any pastor or youth leader mid-church service. Because, the truth is, faith makes you do...strange things. Whether Noah's building a big old boat, Abraham is raising a knife to his son, or Moses is walking hopeless slaves out of the grip of a evil dictator- God's people operate under the influence of the invisible. Is there still a reality to allowing God to call the shots in our lives? What would it look like to invoke the invisible influence of the Great I Am in our lives?

As humans we are unable to see the real reality on our own, it is impossible. The only way that we can see this reality is for God to show it to us. Too often we tell God what we think we need, when in reality He knows that what we need is an invisible intervention!

Before Jesus could rise from the grave, He first had to die on the cross. Jesus beckons each believer to do the same; if you want to find your life, you first have to lose your life for My sake, Jesus says. Yet, Jesus did not come back to life in order that a body named Jesus could live, but we rejoice in the resurrection as Jesus now gives His life to us!

Jesus wants each of us- before we even consider becoming a Christian, to ask ourselves, am I willing to pay the price of surrender, no matter how steep the sacrifice, how painful the price, no matter how expensive the exchange- am I willing, at all costs to surrender my life and follow Jesus, am I willing to “Pay the price?” Find the entire WFF series HERE: https://www.thenoyc.com/2018-white-flag-faith
