In this episode William speaks with Dorothy Day's granddaughters Martha and Kate Hennessy. Dorothy Day was one of the founders of the Catholic Worker Movement (CWM) alongside Peter Maurin. The CWM was based on the principles of personalism and sought to "live in accordance with the justice and charity of Jesus Christ" through houses of hospitality, the Catholic Worker newspaper, and the establishment of farming communes. In this episode Martha and Kate share some of their experience in the Catholic Worker, its work today, and discuss political theology and practice.

Welcome to the first episode of SCM's new series on Christian Political Action. In this episode Faith in Action worker William talks to Rev. Dr. Doug Gay, a minister in the Church of Scotland, and senior lecturer in Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Glasgow. In this episode Phoebe documents the Pilgrimage for Palestinians that took place on Sunday 28th of April in London which was hosted by Christian Aid Collective. CA Collective are a community of 18-30 year-old Christians who care about dignity, equality, justice and love. The Pilgrimage for Palestinians journeyed from Lambeth Place to Westminster stopping at various arms manufacturers to be a witness to peace through prayerful protest.

In the final episode of our season on Dietrich Bonhoeffer, William speaks with Dr Dianne Rayson about her chapter Bonhoeffer in the Anthropocene: Ecoethics and Earthly Christianity in the book Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Theology, and Political Resistance. They discuss what it means to be living in the Anthropocene, the significance of Bonhoeffer's Christology for ecoethics, and the need for reconciliation not only with one another but with all other than human life.

In this episode William speaks with Dr Eleanor McLaughlin about Bonhoeffer's concept of Unconscious Christianity and Eleanor's book Unconscious Christianity in Dietrich Bonhoeffer's Late Theology. They discuss the differences between this and Bonhoeffer's religionless Christianity, compare unconscious Christianity with Karl Rahner's anonymous Christianity, and explore some of the dangers that come with categorising others as unconscious Christians.

In this episode our Faith in Action worker, William, speaks with the Rev. Dr. Jennifer McBride. Jennifer is the associate rector of formation at All Saints' Episcopal Church in Atlanta and the President of the International Bonhoeffer Society. Today we discuss her book Church for the World: A Theology of Public Witness. In the book, Jennifer argues for the practice of public repentance as a form of non triumphalist public witness to the Lordship of Christ for the Church today, based on the theology of Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
