My mission is to help people grow closer to God with every breath and step I take. I gave my life to Christ at an early age and have grown closer through the years, spurred on by the study of the Bible, my church family, and the Chrysalis and Walk to Emmaus Communities. I accepted the call to full -time ministry as a pastor in 1999 and have served 4 different churches in Georgia. Music, preaching, and teaching are the heart of my ministry.
Outside of the pulpit, I enjoy many hobbies that help me blow off steam. These include martial arts, woodworking, blacksmithing, gardening, cooking, and being creative. I'm a jack of all trades and a master of none. My philosophy is use what you have, do it yourself if you can, learn something in the process, and have lots of fun. This channel is a place to share it all with you.
Holy Breath of Life is an earthy, unplugged folk worship song inspired by the beauty and wonder of God’s creation. I began writing it while sitting at the beach, thinking about how all of creation—in its own way—seems to praise its Creator. The wind, the waves, the trees, the birds, and even the breath in our lungs all testify to the life and glory of God.I wanted the music itself to have that same natural, organic feeling. The arrangement is intentionally simple and acoustic, built around acoustic guitar, tambourine, bass drum, piano, and bass. It has the feel of people gathering together with ordinary instruments and simply making music to God.At its heart, Holy Breath of Life celebrates a creation that is alive with the glory of its Creator. It is both a song of praise and an invitation to join creation’s song—to recognize God’s presence in the world around us, receive His breath of life, and add our own voices to the praise already rising from everything He has made.

In this ministry, youth and adults come together to serve our community by providing free home repairs for those in need.As we work side by side—painting, building, and helping our neighbors—we experience and share the love of God in a very real and tangible way. Through simple acts of service, the “river” of God’s mercy and grace flows into homes, hearts, and lives.This ministry has made a lasting impact—not only on those who are served, but also on those who serve.

This is my first sermon as pastor of Stark Methodist Church, and I wanted to begin honestly and faithfully—with God’s Word. I wrote the song about my mom in the late 90s for a youth service where we honored our mothers on Mother's Day. I finally recorded in in 2020 during the COVID shutdown to share with a slide show at my church on Mother's Day.

I started writing the music for this song when I got my first guitar in 1992. The lyrics came together over the next 15 years as I recalled the day my older brother told me goodbye before moving far away to Chicago to start his first job after finishing college.
While on a mission trip to Guatemala in 2006, I awoke from a dream with this song in my head--the music ad the lyrics. I got up and went to the roof of our hotel with my guitar and wrote everything out. My best friend and I sang i for our mission team after breakfast.

I wrote this song on a long road trip across the United States. As I traveled, I found myself thinking about the ancient peoples who walked these lands long before we ever called it “America.” Different waves of Native American migration, tribes that flourished and tribes that vanished, stories that were forgotten or replaced. And I wondered how different the story looks depending on who is telling it.At the same time, I was thinking about ministry—about living under the constant gaze of others. In ministry, everyone has an opinion about who you are, what you should do, or what you should have done. It’s a life lived in a glass house, always under someone’s eyes.These two ideas—ancient people being seen, and me as a pastor being seen—blended together. The eyes, the stories, the perspectives. Who tells the story? Who gets called “new” or “old”? Who sees whom, and how clearly do any of us see?I love this country. I want to see all 50 states. Every landscape, every community, every story. America is a song much older and longer than most people realize. And it goes on and on.

The Lord woke me up at about 2 AM with the words and tune to this song in my head. I immediately got up and wrote out all the lyrics, grabbed my guitar and wrote down the music, and recorded a quick demo with my phone. A few days later, I produced a more polished demo, sang the vocals, and now I've made this music video to share with you. The song reminds us not to listen to the dark voices of evil that try to tear us down, discourage or condemn us, or lead us astray. The Lord is our banner and as long as we proudly lift Him up as Lord and follow His plan and represent Him faithfully, we cannot be defeated. Even when Christ was crucified, he was not defeated. For in drinking the bitter cup placed in His hands, Christ defeated sin and death and rose to new life on the third day. We too will rise to new life when we follow the standard of Christ.

There is no difference whatsoever in the character and actions of God in the Old Testament and Jesus in the New. He is who He is. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean you can disregard it. We must repent and let God be the absolute Lord of our life.
God is the perfect father. Abba is Aramaic for Dada. It's what a baby calls it's father. God welcomes us even when we are like babies--when we're week, immature and helpless, in need, and even messy. our Abba Father loves and protects us, nurtures us, and helps us grow.
God is all we really need. He is sufficient. He is the source of life and can provide everything we could ever want or need, so much so that we could even leave behind everything we have and follow Him and not lack anything so long as we are following His will for us.
