In the final episode of the series, we sat down with Pujya Swami Sarveshanandaji, one of the resident acharyas at Chinmaya Mission Dallas/Fort Worth. He spent a lot of time with Gurudev from 1989 to 1993. Swamiji shared the events following Gurudev's Mahasamadhi and also spoke about fulfilling Gurudev's vision moving forward.
In addition to being a stalwart Vedantin, Gurudev also served as an advocate for Hinduism on a global level. We interviewed Suhag Shukla, co-founder of the Hindu American Foundation. She told us about HAF's commitment to fair and accurate representations of Hinduism and spoke about the need for religious awareness and education.
Gurudev was a tireless globetrotter. Well into His twilight years, He continued to work at a rigorous pace. Acharya Vilasini Balakrishnan, an acharya in Chinmaya Mission Washington, DC, told us about her time as His traveling secretary and His inspiring work ethic.
Pujya Swami Ishwaranandaji, resident acharya of Chinmaya Mission Los Angeles, spoke to us about his time as a student and later a teacher at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya. He walked us through understanding Gurudev the man, His vision, and our responsibility to uphold His ideals.
