If you've followed J-Foo and his exploits, you may remember his two "nerd world problems" segment where he complains or points out things that are wrong, or theorized on things reguarding things like the film industry to the video game industry. well, here is his third installment concerning the cancellation of "silent hills". it's easily a video he worked the most on, and was his first attempt to do a scripted video solo.

Welcome back sports fans to another edition of StormWulf's gaming update. Come along and enjoy the sights and sounds as we explore deeper into the wonderful world of gaming. First things first, I recently found out a major piece of information that fans of the Dragon Age series will want to hear, BioWare has, quite recently actually, announced the release date of Inquisition so mark those calaendars people cause its coming out October 7, 2014. It promises to be an amazing game, and if it's anything like its predecessors it ill be. Next, the god-father of FPS, Wolfenstein: the New Order, is all set to release May 20th if things got as according plan, which they should. That's another title that promises to be good, if the trailer is anything to go by.
Finally before we move on the main portion of this article, it has recently been brought to my attention, having spent countless hours on the internet doing research for this update, that Ubisoft has set a release date for the 4th title in the Far Cry series. Far Cry 4 is set to be released on November 18th, 2014, that's right folks you heard it hear, probably not first but you heard it hear, Far Cry 4 is set to release this year. FC4 will be available for purchase on the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC and will take place in the Himalayan Mounts in a fictinal region called Kyrat, that is controlled by a self appionted king. Now no real details have surfaced yet, other than what you see obivously, but I think it is save to say that players will be fighting to over throw said king. With that said be sure to tune in here for further details.

Now on to business.

Title: Borderlands: the Pre-Sequel

Developers: 2K Austrailia, Gearbox Software

Publisher: 2K Games

Platforms: Xbox 360, PS3, PC

Genre: First-Person-Shooter/Role-Playing-Game

Release Date: 3rd Quarter 2014 [Fall 2014]

Plot: Play as one of four playable characters and help Handsome Jack in his escape from exile from the Hyperion Moonbase and help him capture it for himself.

Gameplay/ Overview: Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel takes place before Borderlands 2, but after the events of the original Borderlands game and is set on Pandora's moon

. President of Gearbox Software stated that he wanted to name it Borderlands 1.5 but he got over ruled by the kid on the BL block 2K Austrailia, so don't be surprised if some of the NPCs have a bit of an Austrailian accent as they plan on using them in this title. Players will have four character classes to choose from, with each character representing the class. Character/Classes are:

-Former Atlas Corp. assassin, Athena as The Gladiator: Players will probably recognize her as the rogue assassin for the Atlas Corporation from the Borderlands (orginial) DLC The Secret Armory of General Knoxx. Athena will have the ability Kinetic Aspis, which allows her to absorb weapon, and eventually elemental, damage with her shield and send it back at enemies. Once upgraded enough her shield will also have the ability cause the return fire to ricochet and hit mutiple targets.

-Hyperion Engineer, Wilhelm as the Enforcer: Not much is know about what Wilhelm will be able to do ability wise, but upon leveling up Wilhelm will gradually take on the form of the badass Powerloader we all know and hate from BL2.

-Lynchwood Sheriff, Nisha as the Lawbringer: No info has been revealed about Nisha, other than players will recognize her as the girlfriend to Hnadsome Jack and the sheriff you kill in Lynchwood in Borderlands 2.

-Claptrap as the Fragtrap: That's right folks that annoyingly coward coward of a robot from the first two games is now a playable character. Now nothing has been said as to what players will be able to do as this little guy, so we just have to wait for the game to come out or until more info has been released.

Players will begin this space adventure as henchmen to a "morally good" Hnadsome Jack. As the game progresses players will bare witness to his slow transformation into the manically evil bastard he is in the previous game. Gearbox Software Pres. Randy Pitchford has said that this game's plot would explore how villians tend to be

"morally ambiguous, doin possibly 'bad' things for the right reasons, and then have that reflect what [Handsome Jack] is doing. There are several quests in the game where literally the only narrative purpose they exsist for is to show you that the 'bad guy' you're fighting is not actually a horrible person".

The actual gameplay for The Pre-Sequel will reamin exactly the same as in preivous games, with just a few additions. Firstly 2K has introduced new forms of weaponry i.e, Laser based weapons and cryogenic weaponry. The laser-based weapons will come in two varieties: 1. Beam blasters, which is one of the most essential types a weapons that one must have in space, think Star Trek, Star Wars, and just about every [good] space movie ever. 2. Sustained blasts, think the proton beam from Ghostbusters and the Spartan Laser from the Halo game series. Laser-based weapons will also have an added benifit, when they are used in oxygen rich environments they will deal bonus burn damage on top of normal damage.
Next we see the addition of "cryo" based weapons, "Cryo" will allow players to slow enemies with just a few shots and completely freeze them with sustained fire, once frozen players can then smash them to bits with a well timed melee attack. With the added benifit of playing on moon's surface come to other additions to survival and mobility: O2 Kits and zero gravity. Oxygen Kits will be a new equipable item along side shields and grenades, they give the player the ability to breathe in the vast vacuum of space and will allow the player to hover and do a double jump by usesing the tank to propell the player higher as well as allowing players to perform a ground slamming attack. Tanks will also come in different varieties that can boost player stats. Also players will now have to monitor their O2 levels in order to survive in space as it as they will deplete with extended use, but they will recharge when entering an area shielded from space or by standing on air vents placed on the moon's surface. With the zero Gs players will jump slower but higher, the downside is that now loot can float away if your not paying attention. BP-S is set to hit the shelves this Fall, so be sure to chceck before then to see if we've learned any more information on it. this has been SotrmWulf on behalf of NS, STAY FROSTY FOLKS!

... guys... I... I'm so happy right now...

If you guy's don't know by now.. I'm a HUGE Ace Attorney fan. I'm always looking to see what the next big news in the series is going on. For starters, Ace Attoreny vs Professor Layton is FINALLY making its America debut SOON! it's already out in Japan (Since 2012!? WTF Capcom?!) and just hit Europe last month... So hopefully it'll be out in the next few months or so.

Now for the BIG news! A new series, more like a companion series to the already great Ace Attorney series. This NEW series will be called "Great Ace Attorney: The Adventure of Ryūnosuke Naruhodō". This game is said to have the same Ace Attorney quirkiness, but at the same time, have a whole new style of game play.

Given this new series is going to take place during the "Meji" Period in japan. The only fear I have, is how Capcom will Americanize the Meji period. I honestly think they should stick close with the deep Japanese roots of the Meji Period. Capcom really has a big chance to immerse us into the Period of japan that essentially pulled japan from the fuedul warring states era of the 1800s, to the current modern form of Japan that we all know and love today.

the new characters in this game are supposed to be the ancestors of our beloved Phoenix wright. "Ryūnosuke Naruhodō", just like his predocessor, is filled with justice and just wants to help people, and discover the truth hidden in the lies presented to him. He apparently practices Kendo by the looks of the art below.

And just like ANY Ace Attoreny, Ryūnosuke has a companion who looks very traditional Japanese in style and apperance, but not much else is known about her at this time.Since the court systems of Japan have changed a lot since the Meji period to now, it makes me wonder how the trials in this game will go. Will we get to goofily shout "OBJECTION!" into our 3DS's? will we get to examine evidence? will there be new handicaps applied to the chain of evidence and cross examinations of witnesses? will Ryūnosuke have a special power!? WHAT!? I want to know!... but I guess till Capcom decided to stop being evil and just tell us, guess we just have to... to.... wait... So when that happens, you'll be seeing MUCH more from me on this subject!

Today's gaming update is gonna be a short one what with it being Easter and everything, I felt that you guy's would be interested in this one so here it is, enjoy -StormWulf
Title: Murdered: Soul Suspect

Developer: Airtight Games

Publisher: Square Enix

Genre: Mystery/Crime, Action/Adventure

Platforms: PS3, PS4, Xbox One, 360, PC

Release Date: June 3, 2014

Plot: When a dectective with a checkered past, Ronan O'Connor, is caughtup in a burglary, his life is brought to an untimely end at the hands of a brutally relentless killer. After the shock of waking up in the afterlife, Ronan must used his new found powers and the help of a girl in the human world, Joy, with the power to talk and see the dead, in order to survive this limbo world of 'Dusk', and solve his murder and bring the killer to justice.

Gameplay/Overview: Murdered:Soul Suspect takes place in the town of Salem in the state of Massachusetts. Okay first off, that's pretty cool, especially when you throw in the fact that in order to learn more about the case and the persons invovled players have to talk to all the 'past' citzens of this city wrought in a diabolical history. Players will be unable to talk to human NPCs and must instead rely upon 'reading their minds' which allows you to influeneces their thoughts and decisions at will. Players will also have the assistance of a human ally in the character Joy, a girl with psychic abilities which obviously include seeing and speaking with the long departed. Add in a pottery scene with Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg to voice the girl and we would have a Hollywood hit on our hands, but oh well back to the review. Soul Suspect contains a bit of a horror element mixed in with all the supernatural crime-fighting, with the addition of soul-sucking demons that players can evade by opening dimensional tears (...wait a minute...doesn't that sound alot like another certain game inwhich players run around as a detective with the assistance of a young girl with interesting powers...hmm...nahh must just be my imagination.) in addition to a phenominal looking environments that really helps to give the player a true sense of all things dark and foreboding. As the game approaes its June 3rd release date hopefully more things will be reveal, but as with all good things developers tend to keep major aspects under wraps, so be sure to tune in again next week for your gaming update. Stay frosty folks!

Well first off, Nerds Socialize will be covering the event! so we're excited. Sadly it's for only one pass, but we can make it work! Secondly, Derby City ComicCon's owner Chuck Moore has announced that they'll be hosting ANOTHER event in November! November 22nd to be exact!

This new even will be known as the "Cavalcade of Comics" Presented by Derby City ComicCon. it will have a much deeper tie in with a shopping oriented atmosphere (though for a convention, that's almost always a given! :-D). They also hope to wrangle in some regional art for the event as well, which is a top notch idea in my opinion, And as a staple for any and all comic conventions, there will be a wide variety of comic book creators at the event. They timing for the event, as they explain, is to get people to get their shop on before the holidays. And another great thing this event yields, is that it will feature LOCAL shops, artists, ect. This is a great thing, especially for our Derby City.

Article on their Mainsite Derbycitycomiccon.com
Article on Facebook

It is truly nice to see a group of people put something together to try and support the local community where I live. It's odd that just about 6 years ago, there were hardly ANY conventions near the Derby City, and now were have a few that we all look forward to every year. In fact Derby City ComicCon was the first convention I went to in Louisville. It wasn't the biggest, or most glamorous convention in the world, but the fact it was close to home created a HUGE buzz. Actually, I was third in line for my ticket that day, and my friend Scardy was first, followed by our mutual friend Link_Girl.

I actually Found the comic that Featured Deadpools First apperance (MY FAVORITE MARVEL CHARACTER!). the guy wanted $150 for it. I jokingly told the guy "M... maybe $5?" he laughed at me lol. But then he was like "hmmm... I could do $50". I WAS SO TEMPTED! but sadly I had to restrain my nerdiness.

BUT ever since that first convention, even though it wasn't huge and glamorous, it created a buzz that has started to attract more events that I attend now, and on top of that, Derby City ComicCon has grown each year it has been in Louisville, and looks to be a thing we will continue to look forward to each year.

If you're interesting in the "Cavalcade of Comics", here's the info!:
Taking place Saturday, November 22nd, 2014 at Ramada Plaza Louisville - Triple Crown Pavilion (9700 Bluegrass Parkway, Louisville, KY) the Cavalcade of Comics will be a companion show to our annual primary convention and offers a unique mix of comic book focused fun to enjoy.

We hope to see you there folks!

GREETINGS NERDS AND FELLOW GAMING ENTHUSIASTS!!!!!!!! Stormwulf has return from parts unknown, to bring to you a new console gaming update. This update is going to be special because, Stormwulf (out of his love for his readers mind you) has spent the last month or so trecking into unknown lands and countries to bring to you, for your reading pleasure, a little review of...THIEF! So stay tuned for that. Before I get too far ahead of myself I would like to take a minute or so to go over new releases and some updates on past posts.
First off, as many of you have probably noticed quite alot has hit store shelves over the last month starting with;
-South Park: The Stick of Truth (PS3, PC, X360)
-Dark Souls II (PS3, X360)
-Titan Fall (XBO, PC)-For those of you wondering, Titan Fall WILL be on X360. However you will have to wait till April 8th before you can recieve your copy. For whatever reason EA and Respawn Entertainment thought it would be fun to make 360 owners wait another month before they can play it. It have damn well better be worth it.
Sorry got off on a bit of a tangent, returning to primary directive:
-Yoshi's New Island (3DS)
- Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster (PS3)

-Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (PS3. PS4, X360, XBO)
-Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z (PS3, X360)
-Infamous: Second Son (PS4)
-Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z (PC)
*FANS OF THE BATMAN: ARKHAM SERIES WILL WANT TO READ THIS NEXT SECTION!!!!*
For those of us lucky enough to have played them, the Batman: Arkham series have held a since of enjoyment and thrill. That all is about to change for us though be cause Rock Steady have annouced that the next and final title, Batman: Arkham Knight will not be returning to the Playstation 3 and XBOX 360. Rock Steady has instead decided to release it EXCLUSIVELY onto the PS4 and XBOX One.

Okay I think that about covers things on the update side of things, now for the real reason we're all gathered here...Thief.

Now bare with me here this is my first game review...like ever...so just keep that in mind. I will try my best to make this simple and easy to read and understand without giving away too much of the game because, this is after all just a review and not a complete walkthrough, you want hardcore details about secrets and hidden treasures your gonna have to go somewhere else.

Thief
Platform: 360, PS3, PC, XBX ONE, PS4

Genre: First-Person, Stealth

Plot Summary: Take on the role of Garrett, a master thief, as he steals his way through The City, and tries to find answers to over a years worth of questions: What happened at the Baron's Manor? What is happening to the people of the City? and What happened to his former apprentice?

Rating
Over all Game Score: 8.5/10 (With an ingenius and enitcing story, near flawless stealth oriented gameplay, diferent ways to complete missions and objectives, coupled with some of the most intense moments in gaming this year. Thief makes players want to come for the gold but stay around for the phenominal story.)

Game Replay-ability: 7.75/10 (Moderately High)
Graphics: 7.5/10 (Phenominal character, environmental, and textural designing helps to makes player feel as though they are actually experiencing this dirty, grimy, yet some what beautiful city as they trapse along in search of precious boubles and trinkets)
Sound Quaility: 8/10 (An excellent musical score and great sound effects combine to help further engross players in to this exciting new world)
Combat (Non-Stealth): 4.5/10 (do to a lack of an efficient melee weapon and somewhat poor, non-stealth oriented, combat mechanics)
Combat (Stealth): 7/10

Over-all Story/Plot: 9/10 (Thief excells at keeping the player guessing what will happen next and in effect coming back for more time and time again to find out what happens next)
Over-all Game Mechanics: 7.75/10
Review: Over recent years we have seen a almost significant increase in reboots of older and classic games. Some of them were good, and in some instances better than their predecessors, games like Tomb Raider (2013), DmC: Devil May Cry, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, and Rayman: Origins. While some have not been very good at all, we're talking games like: Duke Nukem: Forever, Golden Axe: Beast Rider, and Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). This year we saw the release of another reboot in Thief, and you can rest assured that it will be counted amoung those game reboots worthy enough to be label as sucessful. Thief, which has some of the best developemental predigree around, was developed by Eidos Montreal and published by Square Enix. The game puts you into the shoes of Garrett (no lastname apparently), a master thief extrodinaire, as he piliages and plunders his way to answer and so much gold that even Scrooge McDuck would be jealous of. Combine that with an intriguing and exciting story and throw in some pretty intense horror elements and you go yourself the makings of a pretty decent game.
Now for the not so shiny side of this otherwise perfect diamond. While Thief shines at the stealth stuff, it dulls in combat. Players, when prgroessing through the game, are equipped with a compound bow, and more arrow types than a hillbilly can swing his banjo at, and a Black-jack. Now while this is a menacing combo when used as a part of stealth combat, it's really not a good thing for players who prefer open combat, because once spotted and combat commences, the black-jack becomes as about as useful as a toddler with a foam sword against the city watch who are armed with long swords and crossbows. You can completely forget about using the bow in open combat because, even when full upgraded, it takes too long for it to aim properly and once you take a hit players have to completely re-orientate themselves as well as aim again, which by the take you do all of that you been hit again and have to do it all over again.
Along with its shotty open combat mechanics comes one of the poorest attempts at a character progression system I've seen in a while. In most games continued use of an ability or eliminating enemies generally rewards the player with Experience points players can then use to progress character abilities or skills. Thief takes a completly different route by forcing players to either seek out impoosible to find Focus Points or to spent hard earned money to upgrade skills, Which in itself I wouldnt mind, if you didnt have to use money to upgrade your equipment and to purchase more supplies. So if a player only has 2,000 gld they have to then choose whether or not to spend that money on focus points, refilling their supply stocks, or upgrading their equipment (which mind you gets extremely expensive as the game progresses).
With it's intense story, exciting stealth gameplay, and the assurance of a possible sequel, Thief shines as a bright beacon of hope in the dark and dreary world of gaming reboots and seals in position as one of the best games to hit store shelves this season. I can fully as your gaming guru can feel no remousre in telling you to go out purchase this title, if only so that you as readers can expericene this game for yourself.
---This is has been StormWulf on be half of Nerds Socialize...Stay frosty folks....

WELL HI THERE MY LOVELY NERDS AND NERDETTES!

It's Pony here, and sorry for the lack of NOT being around. Many new things are happening for me so I've been a tad busy. But I've got a full run down of Blizzard Entertainment goodies to race through, so lets get it started!

1) In order to hold us WoW players over until the release of the next expansion, Blizzard released another patch with a new PvP season. I'm currently a week behind most hardcore Arena kids, but that's life.

2) Blizzard released Reaper of Souls today, the expansion pack to Diablo III. I've put about an hour into it so far and I'm so very pleased with it.

3) Hearthstone, Blizzard's digital card game, went live a few weeks back. And they are giving players a mount (the 'Hearthsteed') to those that win three (3) played matches outside of the starting quests.

4) This is the big one for me. At Blizzcon it was announced that Blizzard was going to be put out a DOTA style game. Think League of Legends if you play that. As soon as I heard that news I rushed to my account page and opted in to be a Beta tester for Heroes of the Storm. Not only did I get in as a Beta tester, but I'm in the ALPHA!!! So freakin' excited about this.

And one more thing. It's not Blizzard related, but this guy is nothing but hunk. (Sorry guys, had to say it. Afterall, I'm the only chick admin.) jason Momoa will be at the Louisville Comic Con!!!! Wait... you don't know him? explodes

I first saw this chunk of man meat while he was on Stargate: Atlantis. Then I took so much note when he was in season 1 of Game of Thrones. He played Conan in the reboot of Conan the Barbarian. He has some more movies that are currently in post and pre production.

Plus he's hot.

ANYWAY!

That is my update. And just in time. My Heroes of the Storm finished installing. And this will play hell on me wanting to go to bed early tonight.s

Hey Folks, J-Foo here! I'm here to talk about Virtual consoles! I have several virtual consoles games, Ranging from "Super Mario World" to "Super Smash Bros." and I love playing each and every one of them! I especially love the Japan only releases. But... This is where I become conflicted... As you may know... I'm a big retro gamer... I love my retro games... I love the cartridges, I love how difficult they are to get to work, and I love how I have to essentially cough up a lung blowing into the game to mysteriously get it to work. But does that mean Virtual consoles aren't worth it? I mean the price of the virtual console version of a game is about the same price as the physical retro copy USED!... Well the benefits and the disadvantage become clear when I put my nostalgia aside for old gaming tech.Pros to virtual consoles:It's pretty obvious that virtual consoles are pretty handy to have. You can play them on your Wii/U/3DS at any time. Being a big punch out fan, I love that I can play that game on several different consoles. ALSO, you don't have to change out the cartridge, and on top of that, it saves space having to store bulky cartridges. And having to hunt down a psychical copy of a game that actually WORKS, and the console or clone console, and they ultimately have a shelf life. Where as for virtual console games, the shelf life is as long as the system lasts. And finally, you get access to games that weren't originally available in America.Cons to virtual consoles:So as for what is WRONG with virtual console games, is that if your console bites the dust, the that's it, or at least for the wii. If your Wii went belly up, and had to get a new one, you have to buy them all over again. I think Nintendo solved this with the 3DS and WiiU, but I'm not 100% on that. You also lose that priceless nostalgia of the good old days, unless that was before your time and are a horrible person. And if you already own said games, but just want to be able to play it on your console, you'd have to pay for it again (I've done this, and it's a small trade off since my games get played a lot).conclusion:From what I can gather, virtual consoles are amazing and convenient, and allow us to relive good old times, minus some nostolgia. But that isn't to say retro games aren't worth having. Each one has their place in our hearts. Retro games to relive the beginning, and virtual games to remind us how it all started, and in the end, we're still playing great games either way.

Greetings from StormWulf, and welcome to another gaming update. We got alot to talk about to day so settle in and get comfortable.

First things first, the guys at Ubisoft have decided to re-release an HD remastered version of the original Far Cry. Far Cry: Classic, as it's called, will be available on both the PSN and the XBL: Market place on Feb.12th for a small fee of $9.99. For those of you who live in Europe Farcry Classic will be available in store as part of a Far Cry compilation called Far Cry: The Wild Expedition, which will include Far Cry's 1-3 as well as FC: Blood Dragon for a small fee of 29.99 euros. For those of us who do not live in Europe, Ubisoft has decided to release a similar compilation call Far Cry: The Compilation, but it will be a PS3 exclusive and it will NOT be including Far Cry 1 and will cost $39.99. So probably better off spending your $9.99 for the original and buying the rest seperately.
Now we come to the meat and taters portion of todays gaming update. Wolfenstein, to veteran gamers like myself, Wolfenstein is synonomous with being the very first first-person shooting game. It paved the way for some of the best game series on store shelves today. Without it there wouldn't be any HALO's or Call of Duties, just a world ruled by Side-scrolling Platformers, which there is nothing wrong with, just the gaming world is better to have seen the creation of such a genre. Now the gaming grand dad is back and with an entirely new engine and gameplay, so be prepared to enter the world of Wolfenstein: The New Order. Title: Wolfenstein: The New Order Developer(s): Machine Games

Publisher(s): Bethesda SoftWorks

Genre(s): First-Person-Shooter

Platform(s): PC, PS3, PS4, XBOX 360, XBOX One
Release Date: 2014

Plot: Set in an alternate version of 1960s Europe, where the Nazis prevailed in the second World War, players re-assume control of the series protaganist: William "B.J." Blazkowicz. Blazkowicz, who is know as an American war hero, is tasked with launching an "impossible" counter-offensive mission to take out the Nazi regime and the arsenal of "super-weapons".

Gameplay/Overview: New Order will follow in true FPS fashion having players play across different levels to complete seperate mission objectives and tasks. Player health will be a little different than most games now, where in the player health bar will be divided into seperate sections that can regenerate overtime, but loose on section of health and players will have to rely on health packs to regain lost health. All paranormal themes from the preivous games have been completely removed from this title, instead game developers are going to be focusing more on retro-futuristic elements. With New Order being this far from a release date, not much has been revealed about its gameplay, but extensive research on my part has revealed elements of underwater exploration, along with moments of mountain-esc vehicles chases, as well as player-controlable Nazi war machines. When more info is released you can expect StormWulf to be there to retrive it and deliver it to you my little gaming minions. Until then...stay frosty minions!

GREETINGS FELLOW NERDS! StormWulf here to drop some ninja news on your shogunate butts!
Lets start the butt whoopin': Title: Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z Developer(s):Team Ninja Spark Unlimited Comcept Publisher(s): Tecmo Koei Platform(s): Xbox 360 PS3 PC iOS Genre(s): Action-Adventure/Hack-n'-Slash Release Date: March 18, 2014
Plot: Easier to let you read for yourself:
"The game stars the powerful ninja, Yaiba Kamikaze. He was once part of a clan that tested the abilities of its ninja by putting them up against a highly skilled member, in this case being Yaiba himself. However, he eventually grew tired of his weak apprentices and decided to massacre his clan and leaving the survivors to their deaths.
At some point he meets with franchise mainstay Ryu Hayabusa and decides to challenge him, claiming that he was the weakest foe he had encountered thus far. During the battle he would discover otherwise as Ryu crushed his left arm and eye, almost killing him.
Later he is discovered by a mysterious organization who restore his lost body parts with mechanized duplicates. Yaiba learns that a zombie outbreak had begun and that Ryu had been searching for the source of the infection. He decides to work with the organization that resurrected him in order to exact his revenge against Ryu, agreeing to help put a stop to the spread of zombie infection.[7]" (Courtesy of en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yaiba:_Ninja_Gaiden_Z)

Gameplay/Overview:

In true Ninja Gaiden fashion, Yaiba: NGZ will be played from a 3rd person perspective. Combat will be your standard hack-n'-slash, with the addition of "Blood-Lust" mode, which took the place of "Ultimate-Technic" mode in the preivous games, Blood- Lust allows the player to decimate multiple enemies in quick succession. Yaiba:NGZ has broken the Ninja Gaiden tradition of realism in its animation style, and has instead went with shell-shading, fans of the Borderlands series will recognize this, to give things more of a comic book feel. Players will also be able to keep track of the number of enemies they turn to brain jelly with the score multiplier, no word yet on whether this will have any positive side-effects or not, cause like the majority of the information about this game, things are under a tight lock and key. Moving on, ninpo (which is used in the other games as special abilites and attacks) will not return in Yaiba. Yaiba will relie upon his, as of yet un-named katana, and his cybernetic arm. The trailer for the games hints at the ability to use zombie parts as weapons as well. Which brings me to another factoid, the main enemies of Ninja Gaiden Z arm...you guessed it, those walking, brain-loving, bags of undead fles we all know and love, ZOMBIES! Finally a game where we pit one of the most deadly forces against good old fashion undead hordes, and for that Team Ninja we hear at Nerds Socialize thank you! So this brings things to a rather untimely end for now. This has been StormWulf...Stay frosty nerds!

Greetings fellow gaming enthuisists and all around nerds, and welcome to another gaming update brought to you by your friendly neighborhood gaming nut, StormWulf!

So with no other gaming news to report of right now, lets jump into this shall we.

Title: Dark Souls II

Publisher(s): Namco/Bandai
From Software

Developer(s): From Software

Platform(s): PC
PS3
Xbox 360

Genre: Action/Adventure/Role-Playing

Plot: While no actual plot has been reveal at this time, the game will revolve around a cursed character trying to find a cure for his/her's agony. Game director Yui Tanimura has mentioned that the sequel will be indirectly linked to the previous game, but he did not mention exactly how that it is to be. Tanimura also said that the concept of time will factor in to the storyline as well...but also didn't specify how that is to work either.

Gameplay/Overview: So as expected the gameplay in Dark Souls II will not be any easier than it was in the previous title. Director Tanimura was quoted as saying that
"As Dark Souls focused on giving a sense of satisfaction to players. Dark Souls II is also pursuing to provide that sense."
Basically meaning that there will be NO option in the game to control the difficulty anywhere in the game. So casual gamers may want to avoid this game, or prepare themselves playing either playing the previous title, or by playing any RPG on the highest difficulty setting.
While From Software is keeping most of the game's detail under wraps, they have reveal that good ole' fashioned dungeon-crawling and devling into dark places will be a big part of the game. Level design is, while also under lock and key, going to give the player more freedom than the previous titles. Combat will remain much the same as the original Dark Souls, with the exception of Dual-wielding which is entirely new, and is going to be an integeral part of combat with Tanimura saying that "unqiue actions can be performd by combing particular weapons together". Although with the addition of more dungeons and dark places, the added encumberance of a torch can make combat more difficulty, especially for player who plan on using: Dual weapons, Two-handed weapons, or a weapon/shield combination. As far as the soul system are concerned, players od the original Dark Souls should remeber them as DS version of experience points, nothing is or has been revealed as to if there any changes or modifications at all. Finally players will not have the ability to save mutiple games or be able to pause the game mid-gameplay. Meaning one accesses the character menus at the risk of one own character's life. So be sure to clear an area of enemies be accessing said menus. Also "auto-save" will be back, so you do not have to worry about losing any progress...unless u die or what not before it saves. The additon of more horror elements means that I will definitely look into purchasing this title, cause who doesn't love a good RPG with a bit of horror mixed in, I now I don't.

Dark Souls II promises to be as good if not better than it's predecessor, so be sure look for it when it hits store shelves this March. This is StormWulf signing out saying: Stay frosty folks!

Turnabout Threes! Ace Attorney 1-3 to come to 3DS!As you may know folks, I, J-Foo, have been a HUGE fan of the Ace Attorney games since the first one made its way to my original solid gray DS oh-so-long-ago. I've played EVERY one that has been released in the states, and a HUGE advocate of bringing the remain games to us here in the states! The game series is fun, light hearted, dark, and challenging, all at the same time. I have times where that game made me laugh my butt off folks, and times where I cried. And... Times where I had fits of rage because I just couldn't crack this case! But that aside, it's caused me more joy than rage. So much so that I ache for the next game to be released year after year. Phoenix is a lovable oaf of an attorney, and those he surrounds himself with are just as lovable! So imagine my excitement when I found out that the first 3 ace attorney games are coming to the 3ds with new features!!! Well... Other than featuring the 3DS screen, that's about it for game features. BUT all 3 games will now feature support for a variety of languages. The compilation will be called:Ace Attorney 123: The Wright SelectionAll 14 chapters will be available. There is no current release date just yet for it, but limited edition versions will feature a drama CD featuring our protagonist and antagonist engaging in their epic courtroom rivalry!

Wow... It's been a fun past two days at Nerds Socalize this week. Stormwulf, J-Foo, and Mr. Grey got together to talk ideas, future, direction, and events they'd like to do in 2014. Even recorded episode 8 of the podcast (episode 7 will be up SOON). They're the driving force behind Nerds Socialize, and current events in their lives have made them want focus more on Nerds Socialize and try to make it grow as big as possible. They're wanting to try and find a place of their own to record the podcast in a more professional environment. Down side, it's gonna cost money, so it's going to take some time for the podcast to get to that point, unless they can find a way to create some kind of revenue to help support nerds socialize and make it self sustainable at the least. Also, they want to do more with youtube in the long run. J-foo enjoys his lets plays, and Stormwulf and Mr. Grey want to be more apart of them as well. Only down side, given the location each person lives in, it's hard for them to get together on a frequent basis to obtain that goal without revenue. On another topic, they want to get a bit more personal with people who may listen to Nerds Socialize. They want to hit the streets and ask people what they think of the nerd world that is at hand. The BIGGEST goal they've dreamt up, is live events. They would love to be able to go to conventions to do the podcast, even cover the convention in and of itself. J-Foo's favorite live event is a Halloween Trick'r Treat event. Talking to those costumed Halloweeners who beg for candy, and maybe even cover a haunted house or two. Once again, these are big goals and will take time and major effort to achieve. But these three are swing for the fences for nerds socialize, and really want to bring something special to the nerd people!
We here are Nerds Socialize have great fun making things for you, our viewers to enjoy, and we hope to keep making them for a long as we can. So please, if you wish to support us, please like, share, and subscribe!

Hey! Everyone's favorite gaming guru: StormWulf here to deliver today's gaming update.
Right so down to the brass tax.
Leon S. Kennedy....
Chris Redfield....
Jill Valentine....
Claire Redfield....
Ada Wong....
Albert Wesker....
If you've been around for the last couple decades then know who these people are, what they represent, and where they are from. These people, while fictitious in nature and creation, are synonymous to one man: Shinji Mikami. Mr. Mikami is the creator of the critically acclaimed "Resident Evil" Series, now he has split-off from Capcom to create his own company Tango Gameworks. Now he's taking us back to his Survival-Horror roots with his first solo title, along side industry great Bethesda Softworks, "The Evil Within". This title promises to be a "realization of pure horror" with a combination of "anxiety inducing horror", and mind numbing psychological horror. So why don't we dissect this little beauty shall we??
Consoles: Xbox 360, PS3, & PC

Publisher: Bethesda Softworks

Creator/Production Co.: Tango Game Works

Release Date: 2014

Plot: Right, so, every good game (survival horror especially) requires a story that will keep players wanting more and glue to their seats. What I've read of the plot of Evil Within so far, it has me wanting more, but I'll let you be the judge of that.
"When Det. Sebastian Castellanos and his partners, Joseph Oda and Julie "Kid" Kidman, rush to the scene of a gruesome mass murder, a mysterious. powerful force is lying in wait. After witnessing the brutal killing of his fellow officers one after the other, Det. Castellanos is then attacked and loses consciousness. He awakens in another world where monsters are wondering about, he must fight his way through a world of death and his close friend's madness, in order to understand what's going on. Sebastian has to face his fears in order to survive on a journey to discover what lies in the shadow of that mysterious force."

Overview and Gameplay: The Evil Within will feature a 3rd person-over-the-shoulder-view, with the ability to move and shoot at the same time...THANK YOU MIKAMI!! That had to be one of the only real down falls of the RE series....Anyway. Players can expect to face overwhelming odds, unthinkable horrors, highly-crafted environments, limited resources, and cruel traps as they fight their way to answers. The environment will constantly change to help disorient and confuse players, and boasts threats from any direction. While fire-arms are the main weaponry, relatively scarce ammo will force the player to player to resort to different means to defend themselves throughout the game.

Meaning their will be melee weapons such as knives and axes, and traps to set such as mines. All items will be accessible from a inventory wheel and can be quick selected via the D-pad. There will also be some stealth gameplay, and the game will feature it's own chainsaw wielding enemy, paying homage to RE4's Dr. Savaldor.
The Evil Within creator Shinji Mikami was quoted saying
" I've found my focus and once again I'm starving for pure survival horror. I'm being VERY hands-on to see that the quality is there. Rest assured."
Meaning this game will hopefully be pretty damn entertaining if he has anything to say about it. This title is said to be the beginning of a new franchise, lets hope it lives up to that kinda hype.
This is StormWulf signing out saying: Stay frosty folks.

As a gamer, I love Final Fantasy, but to be honest... not my favorite Final Fantasy. My favorite Final Fantasy was "Final Fantasy Tactics" for the GBA and PSX. I got so good at that game it wasn't even funny guys. My character would have so many skills that he'd have a contingency plan for his contingency plans! Well the Creator of that very game,Yasumi Matsuno, is creating a NEW tactics type game "Unsung Story" and on top of that, it's being funded by a kickstarter. It's amazing the world we live in, that we can fund projects all on our own with the help of fans on the internet.

not much is really known about the game itself, but we do know that the music will be provided by the same guy who works with Matsuno on ALL his project. I love when they try to stay true to the style that they use, down to the same music artist.

Kamen rider, one if Japan's most beloved television series has been going on for 43 years. It's established a HUGE fanbase in Japan and across several nations, including America. Kamen rider's represent the ultimate form of justice and hope. When the world reaches its darkest hour, Kamen Riders reach in, to pull us out. The past few years have been amazing for people who love the shows. From tons of cameos, mega war movies, and just great fun. Now, the actor who played the very FIRST kamen rider, Hiroshi Fujioka, has decided to take up the red scarf one again! In the newest movie "Showa vs Heisei riders feat. Super sentai" Hiroshi Fukuoka will be playing hongo takashi again after 38 years since his last official cameo. Will he be trimming back some weight to get into rider shape? Who know, but the first rider is always welcome to appear in my favorite show.

The hunters are a team up to 9 players, and the hidden is a team of 1, and both of their goals is to kill one another. the advantage the Hidden has over the Hunters is that he's invisible and has aone hit kill. so he has to pick off his enemies one by one. check it out guys. it's a full conversion mod of half-life two, but you don't need the game to play it. Definately worth playing guys!

This had apparently been announced for sometime, but this game just caught this Nerds attention.
J-Stars vs. Victory is a new fighting game that is set to come out on March 19th 2014 in Japan, as far as I know. The game combines characters spanning across the "Shonen Jump" magazine franchise and have them brawl it out in a 3D open world battle field environment with up to 4 players at a time.

The series that this includes are as follows:

Dragon Ball Z

D. Grayman

One Piece

Toriko

Naruto

Bleach

Rurouni Kenshin

Gintama

Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen-mae Hashutsujo

Hunter × Hunter

YuYu Hakusho

Medaka Box

Katekyō Hitman Reborn!

Beelzebub

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

Jigoku Sensei Nūbē

Assassination Classroom

Saint Seiya

Each series adds the main character from each one, and a rival form each series as well. The gameplay is like that of a battle royal, and the players need to learn the layout of the land in order to formulate strategies to outwith their opponents. I'm hoping this game comes out in America!

Okay. You all know Stormwulf and I are HUGE yugioh fans. We play all kinds of card games, but yugioh is our favorite. We both casually play Cardfight Vanguard by Bushiroad. It's an ACTUAL show! Made by Bushiroad!... But... The show just seems dumb, especially the name of the show. I only watched a little of the show, but it truly dumbfounded me. I know cardgame animes are dumb. I know, I said it, but its the truth. I love cardgame animes, but the long standing truth is that they are dumb in the end.Future Card BuddyFight is the epitome of dumb in my eyes. I would LOVE to have been in on that netting about the name of this show. Had to be the shortest meeting ever. It's on YouTube in English if you're curious, lemme know if I'm wrong guys.

Okay Ladies and Germs, your friendly neighborhood Gaming Guru (AKA: StormWulf) extraordinaire has finally returned to do what he loves most, so gather 'round and be prepared for what he has in-store for you this week.

This week we'll be show-casing a lovely little title called "I Ain't Telling You Yet, So just Keep Your Panties On: XIII" and I'll be providing you with some updates on some other titles that are going to be released in the next few weeks or so.
Firstly for those of you who haven't been living in a gutter or under a rock for the last several months, you know that Lions Head Studios has decided to release an anniversary version of their crown jewel Fable, and it is set for a February 4th release date. So get excited about that, I know I am. Next we have Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, which is scheduled to be release around February 22-24th, guess they haven't made up their minds that far yet. Lastly and update on an announcement brought to you originally by J-Foo, fans of the Tales Of Series will be excited to here that Tales of Symphonia Chronicles is set for a February 25th release date.
Now on to why we are actually here. Fabula Nova Crystallis...bit of an odd name if you asked me...but the fellers over at Square Enix seem to like it and who am I to complain. A few of you, well most of you actually, are probably wondering "What the hell is this Nerd on about?" Well, in 2010, Square Enix released the next title in the highly credited Final Fantasy series. Final Fantasy XIII. Which introduced us to the worlds of Gran Pulse and Cocoon, and thirteen of the mostly unlikely band of heroes imaginable, (Lightning Farron, Hope Esthiem, Snow Villiers, Sazh Katsroy, Oerba Dia Vanillie, and Oerba Yun Fang) and their quest to save the world and return to normal. A year later we were given Final Fantasy XIII-2 and now we are getting a third installment, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. LR:FFXIII takes place a whooping 500 yrs after the events of XIII-2, and places us once again in the shoes of Lightning Farron, 13 days before the end of the world. That's all I'm saying about the story, mainly cause I don't want to spoil anything for anybody, myself included. Now onto the real juicy bits, the game play. This new title will feature an entirely new combat stem that combines the ATB system from the first two games and the Dress Sphere system from FFX-2. Lighting will have access to several customizable outfits (garbs) and different power sets called Schemata or Schema in the singular sense.

Each garb has its own ATB gauge, after it's gauge is depleted then the player can switch to another Garb to continue combat. At the end of a battle phase player will receive: Gil; fans of the series know this as the in-currency used to buy items and equipment at merchants and shops, and a slight replenishing of the Energy Points Gauge which is used for special in battle moves and abilities. one major change to the combat system is that the Health Gauge DOES NOT automatically recover like in the previous two titles. Instead the player has to relie upon recovery items found or bought throughout the game. This new title features an freely-to-navigate-open-world environment, allowing players access to the various country-sides and towns found through out the game. The game also features a continuously running in-game clock, where one in-game day is equivalent to 1 real-time hour, and only stops when player enter a cut scene, conversation, or a battle. The player can also stop time temporarily using an ability called Chronostasis. You will be given 7 days at the start of the game, but, it can be increased to a maximum of 13 days as the game progresses. The game will feature 4 difficulty settings, two of which are available at the start of the game with the latter two being obtained after completion of the game. The game will also feature a New Game+ after completion as well, allowing players to carry over items, abilities, and such from a previous play through into a new game. LR:FFXIII is scheduled for a February 11th released date, those of you who pre-order a copy from game stop can expect to receive Cloud Strife's Buster Sword, his Soldier 1st Class Uniform and his Soldier's Band accessory. This is StormWulf signing out saying stay frosty people.

Well folks, it's been well over a TWO decades since the start of our beloved sailor scout's fought Queen Barrel and saved the universe on multiple occasions! 20 years you guys! I attribute my intense love of anime and manga from two very specific shows. Dragon ball Z and sailor moon. So when I heard they were making a new sailor moon show, I couldn't have been more excited!! I've not watched and sailor senshi for years, but that fanboy deep down just can't help but jump for joy!One really cool fact, they're trying to get the original voice cast back to do the characters. They already got the voice actors back for Usagi/Sarena and Tuxedo Kamen/Mask. They say its going to be a re-envisioning of the original manga. So hopefully this means a whole new experience from the first time around! The anime is set to air sometime in July guys! So check it out!

By Mr. Grey

Everything hurts... My feet, the scars on my face, and hell, I think even my boots feel like they're hurting... And at the forefront of my mind is how hungry I am getting. One can't help bu feel hungry when they are beat, electrocuted, and forced to watch one of your friends get his teeth knocked in. Funny thing is, we did not give them any information. The funny thing is Irish would have spilled his guts for some food, but all that is in the past now. Out objective, we must destroy the dam! I pick up my very expensive, and very fancy PLD (Portable Laser Designator).

I see at least fifteen enemies, with another hundred yards or more to cover as more enemies hide, each one wanting our heads impaled on a stick. I can still hear Irish and Hana fighting about where we should plant the C4. I get very tired of this and pick out two enemies that had wondered off by themselves. I grab my Steyr Scout Elite sniper rifle I hold my breath and let the bullet travel to the first target. He felt nothing as I quickly found the second one in my sights. I follow and lead him as he RUNS OFF the dam!

I switch to my PLD and watch as he lands on the ground safely and still continues to run. I pause my game. Great another thing I can add to the list of crap that has happened on battlefield 4. So far the list of bugs I have found in this game is as follows:

three times my memory and game progress has been wiped along with the awards I worked hard to achieve. So I had to start all over again, I even had to pull an all nighter to get this done. Even so, I tripped up two times in the process. It got to be such a problem that I had to report the problems to Sony. But even then, I had to pick up the game and fight my way through enemies that I already killed before. Another time, as I was climbing up a ladder, I glitched through Irish. After that, I got tossed through the air, landing on a pile of sharp pointy rubble that was on fire. I was stuck, and could not escape as the fire began killing me. Basically this forced me to restart again...

So what do I think of Battlefield 4's storyline? Over all it is good, but having to watch the same crap over and over thanks to all those glitches got old fast. This really does not feel well knowing that the game was not finished. It's nice that they got multi-player polished up, but the holes left in the other aspects of the game made it frustrating. Like the game crashing, and losing memory files. But if one of you were to buy this game, more than likely you are getting it for the multi-player, which they were ACTUALLY able to get done in time. So my question is, when will the new “Battlefield: Bad Company” come out? will they ever finish that story? All questions we want answers to, and so far... no answers... sigh
